"The house restaurant for the Renaissance Hotel, there’s a kind of high-end goth casual look to the place, with the black ceiling and black and silver furniture dominating the aesthetic. The menu is nominally a simple affair, with classics such as French Toast, Steak and Eggs, and breakfast sandwiches. The ingredients (locally sourced where possible) elevate the experience, though, with delicious brioche used for the sandwiches, house-made tomato jams, and duck fat corn bread. A clear favorite is the Hot Chicken and Waffle, which comes with some artisanal strawberry jam and is too alluring an indulgence not to order." - Paul Oswell

Nice brunch. Hot chicken and waffles we're good. Wait staff is good. Took a bit to get the food but nice place.

We had an early New Year's Eve dinner here. The truffle fries were good as was the burger. The setting is perfect for a romantic dinner by the opened shutters. Service was good. It's in the Renaissance so you can earn 5x or 6x Marriott rewards points. Good deal!

Nice staff great ambience and good food. The food service could be faster.. or i might have gone in too later to the restaurant.. but the bar is cool to hang out

Overall I recommend this place for a quick bite and a nice handcrafted cocktail. It's situated inside the Renaissance, and 1kept carries the same funky artsy vibe. I've been here several times on different trips to Charleston. The burger with pimento cheese is delicious - one of the best in town and the Bloody Mary is superb. Paige is delightful though the last and final time I went I had another bartender that wasn't very accommodating so I'd say the service is a mixed bag. I'd recommend 1kept and give it a 4 since 4 of the 5 times I've been we're great.

We had the truffle popcorn (tasty but salty, will make u drink more, lol), deep fried Brussels sprouts (I like it), steak sandwich (on pretzel bun) with fries. I love fries but these were a bit too salty for me. And I love salt. I was most impresses with the shrimp and grits. They were more like risotto with a nice red sauce. The shrimp were not overcook and it was creamy without being too heavy. It was delicious. The service and decor were nice. The price is a bit high but the menu is unique enough that one should stop by and give it a try. Even the cocktails were unique (cold brewed).

GREAT SPOT! My friends surprised me for a birthday here, and it was absolutely fantastic. The staff were so friendly: Michael and Chris were attentive and accommodating of our larger group. They have a beautiful outside area and the inside has plenty of seating. FOOD AND DRINKS WERE ON POINT. So delicious.

We went here as a group of four for Sunday brunch on 7/23/17. We were the only people in the place during Sunday brunch. No one was there prior to our party coming in, during our meal or after our reservation which was at 12:30. Service was slow and I'm unsure if that was due to the server or the kitchen, either way when you only have a table of 4 in your restaurant we should not have to wait for over 10 minutes for them to slide more bread for our cheese plate, which we were charged extra for. The food was simply average. I had a burger which was way over cooked, but who knows what will come out when you are never asked for a temperature. Cocktails were still great as they were before they changed the restaurant. With as many great brunch options as there are in downtown Charleston, this is definitely not on the list to return.

The Mangers did a fantastic job on accommodating our large party. We called ahead Joey and Michael did a fantastic job in making our group feel welcome. Our server Heather did a fantastic job, on serving and describing some dishes to the table. The food was fantastic! Thank you again !
