We visited Black Laboratory Brewing for dinner on the night we arrived in San Antonio for a quick trip. We knew they "had pizza", but we had no idea that it would be some of the best pizza we've eaten in years. No joke.
Located inside of Black Laboratory Brewing, 2-1-Dough Pizza Co. is worth a visit even if you don't drink beer. If you visit and do drink beer, you should because the brewery was also worthy of 5 stars. But, I digress.
We started with the Brussels sprouts. My husband and I devoured the flash fried Brussels with their perfect balance of lemon, parmigiana cheese, and honey. They weren't too sweet or too tangy, just perfection.
I convinced my husband to try The Situation, a pizza with a pesto base, topped with pepperoni, salami, basil, red onion, pepperoncini, red pepper, and mozzarella. He's usually a pizza purist who insists on red sauce, but he agreed to split this one with me, and we BOTH loved it! We loved it so much that we returned the next night to order both the Brussels and The Situation again.
We saw several salads that looked incredible, as well as wings and fried cauliflower. I imagine that anything they prepare would be delicious.
Their crust may be the best crust we've ever eaten. The interesting combination of flavors was just perfection. You should definitely try this place!
