Very unique atmosphere given that the bar is hidden underground below another establishment. They have a very interesting drink menu including a great selection of imports, including some German beers like Ayinger. It can get a bit noisy given how cramped the seating is but other than that it;s a great place to try while you're in D.C.

I’d say it just barely reaches 5 stars for me. Good drinks, great staff, the decor is a bit cold, not as quaint or relaxed as one might want in an upscale cocktail bar, but all in all a good time for individuals or groups.

first round of 6 cocktails were either completely bitter or gross with exception of little nicky and the classic cocktails.

This bar caters to people with good taste. I have good taste, so I like this place. The liquid victuals are unique, challenging, and ever changing. Prepare your taste buds for layers of flavors. The atmosphere is busy and loud during peak hours and soft and soothing before 9pm. The decor lends itself perfectly to both its personalities. Recognize that there is no way a bar this good on 14th street isn't going to be crowded... get over it or come early. The service staff are experts, to a one. Don't care for a house special cocktail? No worries, they know all the classics too. Great beer selection as well. A truly special place.

When you come here, you are here for the vibe. The atmosphere is a perfect place to bring guest for a nice drink and to people watch. The wait to order the drinks didn't take too long, the waitress was fast and efficient. The drinks took forever to get to the table. The wait time was about 15-20 min. I was luckily with a good friend so it was not too bad of wait. If you were with bad company it would have been a hard time. The drink prices are rather pricey. They range from $8-15. My drink I had was called the "Gamlet" and was a nice gin/ lime drink. For $10 it was rather a small/ pricey drink. I am rating this place on atmosphere and drink quality. The drink may have been small, but it was tasty overall. If this place were to be cheaper by $2 per drink I would have loved it.

I wasn't a huge fan of 2 Birds the first time I came, but WOW they have turned a corner. Cute, kitchy decor (particularly love the old menus in one bathroom and the awesome wallpaper in the other--def worth a look). Plus they make the best ginger beer I've ever had. I cannot recommend their Moscow Mule enough--whether or not they have it listed on the menu. Absolutely incredible, and normally I hate Moscow Mules. Great, great bar.
