Google
Great place for some breakfast. Black coffee is fairly good too, and frequent refills! Smoked trout omelette and their salmon eggs Benedict were my favorites. Whole menu is just as tasty though! Their biscuits are incredible, they look like a pop over but is actually a fluffy yet flaky, wonderful biscuit. A must try spot!

Google
By far the best breakfast we had on our trip! There were some pretty popular spots that had great ratings that were garbage compared to this place. Adorable ambiance- flowers, butterflies, so colorful, great views of the pretty hotels. The breakfast was big, filling, and very flavorful. We all loved everything we ordered and will be back the next time we are in Bar Harbor! Also dog friendly and very accommodating to the pups.

Google
Breakfast here was so yummy! I got the lobster omelette (twice!). Probably the fluffiest omelette I’ve had. It came with a biscuit and this very good strawberry butter. My husband loved their French toast. It was quick, efficient, friendly service. The spot is so cute too. Definitely recommend!

Google
Excellent breakfast and great decor! The biscuits are delicious, moist and fluffy. The bacon & mushroom omelette was large and didn't skimp on fillings, and the home fries were really tasty. Pancakes were large and fluffy. Did not have to wait long for our food. Love the Halloween decorations outside!!

Google
Excellent service and food. Big portions. My corned beef hash was legit corned beef. Pancakes were fluffy and stuffed with fresh Maine blueberries, and the French toast were made from fresh baguettes. Indoor and outdoor seating available. Server was super personable and was a joy. We did not stay at the inn so I can’t fully rate those but from the pictures they looks beautiful.

Google
Delicious breakfast, reasonable prices, nice atmosphere, good service. We ate on the porch and had a view of the garden by the sidewalk. I asked for milk with my coffee and they went the extra mile and steamed it. It was easy to get a parking space out front. We had the eggs Benedict with salmon, which came with fruit and home fries, and blueberry pancakes--both excellent. We will be back!

Lisa R.

Google
Love the menu! Unique breakfast dishes. I had an omelet with Swiss cheese, apples, and walnuts. Soooooo good. It came with perfectly cooked potatoes and a really nice biscuit with blueberry butter. The coffee is organic and the juice fresh squeezed. The portion was huge-I could not finish and the bill was $50 for 2 people. Plus I love the cat decor.

Google
Excellent!! The eggs bene here are in my top 3 all time best with the lox! I am from the south & the homemade biscuits were out of this world & done right. The hollandaise sauce was perfect. And to top it off the service was super fast! Cheers to 2 Cats!!

Yelp
It's a must when you're in Bar Harbor, our server (who I think was the owner or related) was wonderful- this place is constantly packed so I would go as early as possible to get a seat or expect to wait (even in the "off season") but there's nowhere comparable in my opinion. The blueberry pancakes are a must and their different omelet combos all sounded amazing it was hard to choose. Their biscuits with strawberry butter are one of the things they're known for so I'd at least be sure to try. Will definitely be returning next time we're in the area :)

Yelp
Came here for breakfast. It was our first breakfast place. It has no cats for people who are wondering. Apparently they used to have cats but not anymore. I wish they would have some. Service was decent but not amazing. Place is very tiny and tables are crammed together. It was uncomfortable to seat because of how small space there is. We all ordered different coffee and all of them were below average. Food wasn't great either. Salmon Benedict was very average. We never came back there because no one in our group liked the food or coffee.

Yelp
2 Cats is a good stop if you're headed out early because they open at 6:30AM. It's a quick and easy stop if you're looking for something to fill you up, but it's nothing special. It's very much a classic, straightforward diner experience. Our server was nice and the inside was cozy, mismatched chairs and quirky artwork all over the place. I ordered a hot chai latte, which was from a packet (I know this because there was a mound of powder sitting at the bottom of my cup). For my actual meal, I just ordered two over-easy eggs with spicy homefries and they were solid! Not much to say as I got something basic and I got what I needed. Homefries weren't spicy, but they have a good house hot sauce.

Yelp
I've stumbled onto 2 Cats 12 years ago and thought to myself "Wow! Such great food and fun atmosphere. I was hoping to experience the same thing today. First, positive. The decor is fun, whimsical, and just eye catching. It really feels like you're sitting in a fairytale storybook. The menu has a lot of options, and you don't have to be a lobster lover to enjoy what they have to offer. The bad. We had to get up to speak to the waitress when everyone else who came after us got their food. Not once did she come to check on us. After I confronted her, two of the three dishes miraculously came five seconds later. We checked the food and it was cool to the touch which is very disappointing. This means the food had been sitting at the counter for quite some time. Then she came over to see if the food came with a very sarcastic smile. We asked her about the last dish and she says with a very snarky tone " the food will come out when the food comes out". The last dish did come out and it was hot which proves that they forgot about the last dish and that our other two dishes were just sitting there, waiting. After we got our food, we never saw her again. She never came to ask if you wanted to refill our hot water or coffee. But when we finished our breakfast, she magically popped up with a credit card machine. She automatically included 18% gratuity, which is bonkers. Honestly, I would not have tipped her for the poor service we experienced. And she had the gall to point to another part of the credit card screen, saying "in case you want to tip more". The audacity. The salmon eggs benedict and the lobster benedict was mediocre at best. It might've been better if we received our food hot or if we weren't in such annoyance with the horrendous service. When I revisit Bar Harbor, two cats will no longer be on my top tier to visit. I hope the owners read this because who knows how many of these incidents slipped through the crack.

Yelp
We were really excited to try this place as it has good reviews on Yelp and is super cute, but were ultimately a bit disappointed. Service and Staff: - The staff was nice and they are accommodating with us initially sitting outside and then switching to inside Food and Drinks: - Chai latte: this was good - the cinnamon on top was a nice touch - Traditional Benedict: my friend asked for sausage instead of bacon on her Benedict. She wasn't clear what kind of sausage, but we wish the server said what kind of sausage they had. My friend was expecting a sausage patty, not sausages cut in half - Special Benedict: this was pretty disappointing. There was very little salmon, the egg was overcooked, and the biscuit was very dry. We asked for new eggs that were poached (as eggs should be with Benedict). I received new eggs in a bowl without any of the seasoning. It would have been okay if there was enough hollandaise sauce to add to these, but the sauce was also very limited - Blueberry Pancakes: these were good and filling Miscellaneous: - Street parking available - Indoor and outdoor seating available - Two gender neutral bathrooms

Yelp
To start, as a cat lady myself I love the atmosphere here. All the cat decor and the paw print tables, plus everything being so colorful makes it wonderful to sit here. The juice is fresh and comes in a chilled glass. Perfect fluffy pancakes and I got the freshest banana I have ever had on the side. Peak ripeness. The French toast was made with a baguette which was interesting but it was very good! Typical French toast taste and soft. The corned beef hash was one of the best ones my friend has ever had, and she got poached eggs which were done perfectly with the tight whites and runny center. She described the meal as "Devine".

Yelp
We were seated very quickly at 7:30am (less than 5 minute wait) and had quick service. Most menu items came with an order of spicy home fries and a biscuit with strawberry butter which were delicious. :) We tried the corned beef hash and summer scramble with a blueberry pancake to share. Both entrees were around $15 each and the pancake was $5.50.

Yelp
Corned beef hash was the best I've ever eaten. Hands down. Don't miss this place! Pricey, but worth every penny. Quaint location, in downtown Bar Harbor, but on the outskirts of it. Easy to get to, with plentiful (pay) parking around it. The four of us agree that of our 12 days on the road thus far, this was the best meal we've eaten. No one in our party was even mildly disappointed. Service was fine, very polite and friendly.
google avatar

Jess L.

Yelp
I love that the food is local and seems fresh. We got the farmers scramble and the summer scramble. The spicy sausage was good and the eggs were yummy. The potatoes didn't taste like they had spice on them. The strawberry butter was good, I think it's whipped. But the biscuit was dry and definitely needed the butter.
google avatar

Cynthia C.

Yelp
I'd heard so many wonderful things about this place, but I felt like it was just okay. It certainly fueled me up for a full day of hiking but I felt it was incredibly average. The cafe mocha was way too sweet. I got the ho hum as my breakfast and it was nice and filling. The eggs were fine, the potatoes were a bit too raw for me, and I wasn't a big fan of the biggest and strawberry butter which was what I was most excited about. I felt like the biscuit was super dry and the strawberry butter seemed to be just regular butter. It is a super cute place though. I love their logo and the cats on all their mugs!
google avatar

Mary Louise R.

Yelp
This place had great reviews and lived up to them. Service was quick and food was delicious. Exactly what we were looking for in a last minute breakfast run before our hike to Thunder Hole
google avatar

Rick T.

Yelp
Get the lobster eggs Benedict breakfast with spicy potato's and try their homemade hot sauce. The Inn and restaurant has some beautiful flowers as you walk onto the property. Lots of cool cat signs obviously. One of the best places to eat your breakfast in Bar Harbor,Maine in my opinion. Paid street parking arrive early or no spaces to park around here.
google avatar

Yelp
My friend had come here a few years ago and was very excited to return! We came in on a Saturday morning and it was not very busy at all. We were able to be seated out on the patio right away! If you're averse to birds I recommend sitting inside as there are lots flying around all the flowers and tables. I ordered the farmer's breakfast and a side pancake for a little bit of everything! The scrambled eggs were nicely cooked and the sausage was very andouille-like with a bit of kick. The homefries were delicious as well! The biscuit was so good too - the strawberry butter was so unique! The pancake was nicely cooked and had lots of small wild blueberries in it. I recommend sharing as it's a decent size pancake for a side! It looks like they employ a lot of international workers which was super cool. There's a board by the host station with all the countries the staff is from!

Yelp
We visited 2 cats on a rainy day in June. The restaurant was slammed and they still managed to seat us within 30 mins. The food was high quality, the service was a little slow, and the ambience was homey. I ordered scrambled eggs, Canadian bacon, and toast. Good place to check out for breakfast.
google avatar

Brandon G.

Yelp
Loved the atmosphere and food. Get the smoked salmon eggs Benedict! Nice place, friendly service, great food. Hopefully we can enjoy the outside dining area next time.
google avatar

Yelp
Really good food. Good atmosphere and coffee. Good service but a bit pricy. Very picturesque.
google avatar

Yelp
Incredibly delicious Lobster Benedict. Quite possibly one of the best breakfasts I have ever eaten. The lobster was perfectly cooked and the eggs were perfectly poached, hollandaise sauce was bright and the perfect texture. I didn't love the English muffin but it was a fitting sponge for the saucy goodness. Potatoes were cooked and seasoned to perfection and the fresh fruit was a nice touch. Service was attentive, my coffee was never empty. I would eat here again in a heartbeat.
google avatar

Richard P.

Yelp
Overall: honestly love the design of this restaurant and the ambience. Definitely not writing home about the food as it was a very classic American diner. Nonetheless very cute spot and a good meal to have on the way out in the morning. Food: omelette was very standard flavors. Can't mess up eggs veggies and seasoning. I will say they had fun little condiments and sides with their maple syrup being delectable and the biscuit actually being quite good. Not too dense and not quite crumbly. The potatoes were roasted too an addicting level. Ambience/Decor/Service: colorful little house repurposed as a restaurant. Beautiful patio deck to absorb the weather. Fun indoor dining area perfect for kids with colorful chalkboards and fun tables and chairs. Runs a bit on the older side so it could use a little touching up of the furniture but honestly part of the vibe.

Yelp
Yelp review 2 Cats Bar Harbor Looking for fresh home made meals with unique local ingredients Maine is known for this restaurant will not disappoint. Parking is on the street and can be a bit challenging but you pay electronically at the closest meter. Opened just for breakfast and they do a remarkable number of meals per day. We noticed a few owners happily gathered in a designated outdoor seating area with their well behaved four legged friends. We returned a few times, we enjoyed their versions of Eggs Benedict's which were done well, nicely portioned, base made of a homemade biscuit and well done Hollandaise sauce. Breakfast: Day 1 ***** Veggie Eggs Benedict- perfectly poached eggs, bed of fresh spinach and a delicious fresh baked biscuit rather than the usual English muffin. The spicy home fries were done well with crispy bits and toasty edges. **** Apple,Walnut and Cheddar Omelette- husband enjoyed this very much. Day 2 **** Lobster Eggs Benedict - nice chunks of lobster. **** Smoked Salmon Eggs Benedict - tasty thin sliced slivers of smoked salmon layered with perfectly poached eggs. Day 3- yes, why change a good thing, we went with omelettes. ***** Smoked trout with dill and creamy horseradish sauce. The trout had a smooth smoky flavor and was incorporated nicely into the omelet. The fresh herbs and sauce perfectly imparted great flavor. **** Mushroom, Boursin and Scallion omelette was blended well, light and fluffy and greatly enjoyed by my husband. Topping all these delicious meals was great tasting coffee. Free WiFi. Friendly staff and enjoyable views of the flowered garden and colorful street scenes. We usually arrived after the busy breakfast rush and it was less crowded. Decidedly a favorite of ours and understandably popular.

Yelp
The service was great and the food was delicious. We sat on the patio and it was really pleasant. There were bees but there's not much you can do about that.

Yelp
Love the menu! Unique breakfast dishes. I had an omelet with Swiss cheese, apples, and walnuts. Soooooo good. It came with perfectly cooked potatoes and a really nice biscuit with blueberry butter. The coffee is organic and the juice fresh squeezed. The portion was huge-I could not finish and the bill was $50 for 2 people. Plus I love the cat decor.

Yelp
First time coming here- It was pouring rain when we got here and we went inside to check in because there was a visible wait. The hostess came over to us and told us to wait outside, and proceeded to shoo us out the front door onto the deck and was tapping my arm while doing so. Very odd behavior- like don't touch me! She sat us and also proceeded to watch us the entire meal making me very uncomfortable. I have never experienced this at a restaurant. Our server was very nice though. The food was very good. The prices are high but to be expected in a tourist area.
google avatar

Dave W.

Yelp
As breakfast food lovers, this place was high on our list of restaurants to try in Bar Harbor so we went there on our first morning in town. We didn't think that was going to be an original idea on a busy holiday weekend, but we got seated right away on their spacious outdoor deck. With this being Maine, I had to try the Lobster Benedict...it was delicious! Others in our party had a Traditional Benedict and the Farmer's Breakfast - everyone really enjoyed their breakfast at this fun spot! the service was great, too!
google avatar

Shaily P.

Yelp
Absolutely loved this place! Love the tofu! It came with a biscuit and strawberry butter- it's amazing! Nice cozy breakfast place on a rainy morning.
google avatar

Jason D.

Yelp
We stopped by in early afternoon approaching closing, so this might not be typical. We ordered drinks to go. We ordered a double espresso, iced latte and strawberry smoothie. The amount of actual liquid in the espresso was equivalent to a half espresso - a little more than a tablespoon. And very lukewarm. The latte was nearly all milk and ice, with a very slight hint of coffee. All this might've been because of being early afternoon and getting closer to closing, because many of the staff were rushing around. Maybe this wasn't the regular coffee barista. The smoothie was great! I'm told an 8 out of 10.
google avatar

Chris D.

Yelp
I did not see one cat, let alone 2 cats. My daughter wore her cat jacket and was disappointed... and I figured that this would be a great time to teach her about disappointments, so not only did we get great food but my daughter learned a valuable life lesson. So since we were in Maine, my wife had the lobster omelette and I had lobster and poached eggs. The food was super good but they did run out of a few things even though we got there an hour before closing so I couldn't try the freshly squeezed grapefruit juice. That aside it was fairly nice.
google avatar

Mark F.

Yelp
Best breakfast of our trip in all ways!! Will recommend to everyone coming to town who wants a less touristy experience and willing to walk just a few more minutes
google avatar

Clau R.

Yelp
My sister, 2 of our friends, and I checked out 2 Cats while on a road trip last week. At first, we were a little bit confused whether or not they were open, because the typical apps (Yelp, Google Maps, Apple Maps, and regular Google) all told us different things as to if they were open or not. In the end, we called the restaurant and confirmed that they were open, and then headed over. One of us is gluten free and has Celiac's, and when we called the restaurant, they confirmed that they had gluten free options, which was amazing. It was raining, but we found free street parking just a few feet away from the restaurant and quickly walked over. Because of the weather, nobody was sitting outside, although we could see that the restaurant had a cute outdoor area, which I am sure would be nice on another day! Nevertheless, the host sat us quickly inside and the vibe was cozy and cute. We all ended up ordering eggs benedict, and my gluten free friend was allowed to substitute the hash for fruit, as the hash is not gluten free. We also each ordered drip coffee, and our server told us she would bring us some milk. The food and coffee were good, but I am taking off a star because when the bill came, we saw that they had charged us extra for the milk that the server offered, as well as the gluten free substitutions. This was not reflected on the menu, nor was it communicated when we were ordering, so it felt unnecessary and a bit rude. At the end of the day, a few dollars for milk or for a gluten free accommodation is not going to break the bank, but it did feel like the restaurant was trying to be sneaky the way that they did it. However, that is just my opinion, so hopefully others feel better with their experiences, because the food was good!

Yelp
This place is so nostalgic for me, I can't believe it's still here after all these years! Came here as a little kid with my family and never forgot it. And boy, did it live up to my memories! The food is incredible, with all the wonderful Maine specialties you could ask for. I got the lobster eggs benedict and it was not only so delicious, but I couldn't believe how many thick, juicy chunks of lobster they fit on top! Everything was wonderful, including the service. It really feels like a little family there. So happy we got to stop by!
google avatar

Emersen F.

Yelp
Good service and delicious food. I ordered the yogurt, granola, and fruit bowl. The granola was DELICIOUS!! You can taste the quality ingredients. I also got a side of order of the spicy sausage which was had just the right amount of kick to be tasty but not too overpowering. The other 3 people in my party ordered 2 different omelettes, and the golden pancake stack. We all ordered the blueberry pancakes to share which were very yummy. The two who ordered the omelettes were very impressed! The biscuits were underwhelming according to the others, but they said the breakfast potatoes are the best they have ever had! Definitely recommend. There is something for everyone and it is an adorable spot.

Yelp
My friends and I came in for breakfast during our trip and had high hopes since one of my friends had visited years ago and had good things to say. The atmosphere is adorable and the outdoor seating was really nice. That's about all the positive I can say. 40 minutes after taking our order, we watched tables who were seated after us get their food and were halfway done eating. When we asked about our order, they brought out cold dishes that had obviously been sitting out for more than 30 minutes. We were also missing an order. When we asked the waitress, she responded with an attitude and said we will get it when it's ready. That dish came out 3 minutes later and was the only one that was hot. This would've all been forgiven had the server been even slightly apologetic about it, but she made it seem like we were the ones being impatient and rude. And to top it off, they automatically charge an 18% gratuity for a table of 3. Needless to say, overrated and the food wasn't even good. $35 for lobster Benedict with two small pieces of lobster (that came out cold and stale). The home fries were also raw.
google avatar

Yelp
Very good quality, and good sized portions. SO SO YUMMY!! Perfect breakfast to fuel up before heading into Acadia!
google avatar

Yelp
Food was good- a lot of food so share if you're a light eater. we had the farmers breakfast with a homemade biscuit and strawberry butter - yum! The mediterranean breakfast was good but the polenta was too hard maybe substitute with the muffin if you can! ambience was awesome nice outdoor seating and people brought their pups :) Service was good
google avatar

Hayli Z.

Yelp
Came here on a rainy day and the place was hopping. I read about giant biscuits and was excited, but it was pretty small and firmer more like a scone, but that strawberry butter - yes please! I got the meal that came with tea, but it was plain unsweetened black tea so not a fan of that. Overall it was ok, I bet it's nicer on a sunny day but the food itself was alright.
google avatar

Emma W.

Yelp
Food & service was amazing! I definitely recommend getting the blueberry pancake. If you're in Bar Harbor, this breakfast is unbeatable.
google avatar

Elizabeth B.

Yelp
Such a cute little restaurant! We were seated right away as a table of 7 for breakfast (and with a large party, that's no easy feat). Our server was attentive and everything was tasty with huge portions. Loved the homemade biscuits and pots of tea.

Lil B.

Yelp
Great breakfast this morning. Sister had the Swiss, Mushroom and Bacon Omelet and I had the Smoked Trout Omelet. Both came with fried potatoes and a biscuit with strawberry butter. Sister said her omelet was good and had big meaty chunks of mushroom. I found the smoked trout quite unique and super delicious! The potatoes were good but can't compare to the yummy biscuits with strawberry butter. So good!! Service was prompt and server very pleasant. The restaurant is in an old house and we thought it was cool there were pictures of the exterior through the years starting from the 1890's! Cute cat detail on mugs, tables and signs on the walls.
google avatar

Raquel C.

Yelp
My friend and I came here for breakfast before adventuring into the park for the day. The service was very quick and the food was delicious. We were also in love with the decor and theme of the restaurant. We shared the baguette French toast and summer scramble, the proportions were perfect and everything was tasty. Definitely recommend stopping here if you're in the area!!
google avatar

Yelp
My boyfriend and I walked in right at 7am and beat the 7:10am rush!!! I had the mushroom omelette and ATE THE WHOLE THING - it was so good! My boyfriend had a different kind of omelette and it was good too! We were sad we didn't see any cat there tho! Oh my boyfriend loved the strawberry butter!
google avatar

Yelp
Amazing Food, Amazing Service, Would Definitely Recommend! Outside Seating Was Heated And Closed In And Made For A Good Experience. Thank You!

Yelp
We stopped by Cat's on a Monday morning in July and were able to quickly get a table forindoors. We all enjoyed the cat decor and the food was good. Some of us liked our meals more than others, but we would go there again.

Dawn H.

Yelp
Had an excellent breakfast. Staff friendly. Service fast. Got lucky with a close parking spot. Coffee was not so good.
google avatar

David F.

Yelp
My wife and I were on vacation here in MDI and had an awesome start to the day at 2 Cats. All of their ingredients are bright and full of flavor. Highly recommend the blueberry pancake with a cup of coffee. Also the Breakfast Burrito and Farmer's Breakfast were both great meals to start a day full of hiking. 100% need to try if you are in town!
google avatar

Jen Y.

Yelp
I saw this place as one of the recommended places to go to eat breakfast. Such a homely cozy place. The service was great and just right. It was pretty busy and they do close early. For us it was no rush even if they gave us the check, our waitress was just wonderful and told us to take our time to eat. I highly recommend this place if you're ever in Bar Harbor, Maine. For our lunch consists of a delicious Lobster Omelette. We also ordered ice coffee and one cat paw muffin which is famous for its cat paw shape. Unfortunately I was not able to eat it since I do have nut allergies so my boyfriend was able to tell me how it tasted. Tasted like a cross between a popover & coffee cake. Overall a great first time experience!

Rubious K.

Yelp
We had a really nice breakfast here- omelette, pancakes, & bagels & lox, enjoyed it all. But I was inspired to post a review because of a good experience I had afterwards. I lost a key, and emailed the restaurant to see if one had been found. Within 5 minutes the owner wrote me back to say he had it, and he was extremely accommodating and thoughtful about arranging for me to pick it up. He encouraged me to text if I had any issue. I really appreciated how helpful & kind he was, it left a good impression!
google avatar

Yelp
Great food, reasonable price. Lobster Benedict actually had a whole lobsters-worth of meat.
google avatar

Sammy W.

Yelp
I went to 2 Cats this morning for breakfast and I enjoyed my time there! The strawberry smoothie was not the best, so I probably wouldn't order it again, but the food was delicious. My favorite thing about the whole meal was the biscuit with the strawberry butter! It was soooo good!! My dad really enjoyed the sausage that came with the Farmer's Breakfast. Super cute and chill atmosphere and the bathrooms are very clean. Our server was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely come back!
google avatar

Lacey B.

Yelp
Loved the vibe! The homemade biscuits and blueberry pancakes are AMAZING! The breakfast burrito is ok but not worth ordering. The service was inconsistent but not bad overall.

Yelp
A group of puppy raisers met for breakfast in season. We were seated quickly outside. The breakfast choices were broad, we had omelets, pancakes and a standard breakfast. Weird to me they didn't have any "plain" tea for breakfast after being told there was Earl Grey. Sodas were served in cans, I would have preferred fountain soda with refills. Average morning at a nice restaurant,
