I visited Two Cats Bar on King St W in Toronto last Thursday night around 10pm and was immediately captivated by the vibrant atmosphere. The place was bustling with a good crowd, creating an energetic yet welcoming vibe. The music selection was phenomenal, featuring a blend of old school hits that kept the energy high throughout the night. I was thrilled to hear classics from Nirvana, ‘Africa’ by Toto, and the Beach Boys, which added a nostalgic touch to the evening. The bar’s drink menu was impressive, and I was pleasantly surprised by the affordable prices. It’s rare to find a place that combines great music, a fantastic crowd, and reasonably priced drinks, but Two Cats Bar hits all these marks with ease. Overall, my experience at Two Cats Bar was nothing short of fantastic. The lively atmosphere paired with the excellent music selection made my night truly memorable. It’s a must-visit spot for anyone looking for a great night out in Toronto. I’m already looking forward to my next visit!

This bar has been around since I was in my 20’s and every once in a while still find myself there. It’s got a great atmosphere, good music, not a typical club downtown, but a fun time if you don’t want anything too ‘clubby’.

Do not support this business. See video attached of aggressive bouncer at this location pushing my brother. At 10:07 July 4th, 2024 my brother and I were at the line for 20 minutes. When we got to the front, they didn’t let us in because my USA ID didn’t have an hologram that this bouncer was looking for. We went back and fourth with the bouncer for 30 seconds and we ended up leaving. The bouncer yelled back at my brother then as we turned around he chased us and shoved me as hard as he could from behind. We we 1-2 store away at this point. I got immediate whip lash from this. My brother then argued with him as to why he shoved me like that and he then pushed him twice softer. Although he shoved my brother a lot softer than me this was very out of line all together. On top of all this, the bouncer called us racial slurs due to being from America like the word “gringo” and said we must be “Trump Supporters”…. Here is a video of this push on my brother. We are going to be taking legal action unless someone from this bar fires this guy and connect with us to confirm. We are also business owners and this man is a liability for this business. How can the owners of this place hire a guy like that. We will continue to leave one stars as needed. See video attached.

Thee rudest door men in Toronto! I've been going here for years and usually I can get a smile from the duche working the door but I've had it with their arrogant behavior to WOMEM especially!! Went 2 doors down and was greeted with respect and a smile. Apparently good , repeat customers are worth nothing here. Go somewhere else people.

$2.50 drinks Thursday-Saturday, 9-11. I mean how can you not give a deal like that 5 stars. Ontop of that, the place is surprisingly clean, bartenders are crazy fast and the music is usually pretty solid. If you’re looking to get some cheap drinks there probably isn’t a better spot in Toronto.

Cool spot, center bar, not great for dancing, music was all just Canadian classics(not Canadian music just the kind of songs you'd hear on Canadian radio in the 2010s), drinks are nice, the place gets busy for happy hour so get there a little early. Overall nice times to be had

One of my favorite and go to spots in Toronto, this place always delivers. They have one of the cheapest happy hours in downtown, especially for it's location. The staff is all nice, security to bartenders. I've always had a good experience with them, except the one time my friend visiting from Europe did not tip at the bar and was told he wouldn't be served anymore "until he learns how to tip". The music isn't always the best though and too loud with the short ceilings and speakers right above your head, but that's not why everyone goes there. The drinks served are quite consistent, and quick despite however busy it gets. Still continues to be a constant visit for me!

Definitely a new summer spot. It was our second time visiting and it was just as good as the first. It does get very busy with the $4 happy hour special but the bartenders are always efficient (special shout out to Ryan!) and the music is a great mix of disco, oldies, and hits. Not a place to go if you’re looking for food or a dance floor but still an awesome spot and will keep on returning!

I've been to this bar a few times, and I always enjoy the vibe. It can get pretty packed, but overall, it's a great spot! The drinks are affordable, the music selection is on point, and there's always a lively crowd.

I can't tell you how magical this place is... All you have to do is lay down on the ground and you can look up at all the wealthy mountains right there.... A sugar mama will literally trip right over you think you're the best thing there... You will be the unicorn of the establishment....

Pretty boring the music isn't all that great, and it's definitely a spot to meet people especially gross men who wanna get "laid" just not a place to enjoy if u wanna drink and dance, it's more of a social spot

For some reason my best friend loves coming to this place but I have mixed feelings about it. The place usually gets super packed and I realized that there are more of an older mature crowd than people my age. Been here a couple times and it's the same meh experience. Their music selection can be great and sometimes okay. It changes from 70s rock to 90s pop music. Last night, the bar was super packed by 10pm. The bar has a good selection of drinks and beers. You can watch sports here, they got plenty of big screens on one side of the bar. There's not much to say about this bar, I don't like the vibe of it. I've been to many bars and this is the only bar where I've seen married older men get super wasted and make out with girls half their age. TIP: If you are looking to MINGLE. Go somewhere else. This place can be fun but you'll have a different crowd (mature) crowd to mingle with. Be ready to see some pictures of their teenagers or pictures of their wives!!!

I've been to this bar about 3 times with colleague. It's not my seen. It has a 905er meet market vibe. It's always been crowded when I've been there. Not the most sophisticated place, I've meet some alright people, but often hapless office types, thirsty to hook up. I like the scope of 80/90's music, which I'm find to be an fun theme. The drinks are affordable. I'd say it's ok for a party starter, if you want to drink and sway to tunes you recognize. I agree worth the others, the staff are quite pleasant. Personally, I will only go back there to be courteous to my acquaintances who enjoy that scene. My takeaway is also "meh"

Service: The have a wrap-around bar, so people can order drinks all around. There are usually a good number of bartenders serving you. Ambiance: This bar can get really crowded during peak hours, and you probably be standing most of the time as there are only a few chairs. The music varies, but it's usually country or classic rock. Drinks: If you get in before 11pm beers are only $3.50. A good deal considering it's at the heart of King West.

Had a blast at 2 Cats on the weekend! It was packed and everyone was having a good time. The large bar with seating is in the centre and the small dance floor is at the back. There are some small tables on one side if you can get one. You pass coat check as soon as you walk in($3). There wasn't a ton of room to walk by the bar, but we managed. Service was pretty good considering how busy it was. Music was 90's and the crowd was loving it. Good times!

My girlfriend frequents this place weekly (Friday nights, apparently). For this reason, we left a great vibe and crowd at STK in Saturday to go to 2 Cats. There was a long line up. My friend went up to the bouncer to see if there was any way we could bypass (we are 4 mothers with lots of $$ to spend on alcohol, lol). I don't mind that they said no. It was the way in which they attempted to humiliate my girlfriend. "I've never seen you before in my life" or whispering "$150 minimum will get you in". If these morons can't recognize a smart business move, then they're not getting my money. Nor my presence. Went down the street to Brasaii where we were treated appropriately and had a great time. To 2 Cats: your bouncers are idiots. I worked in industry for years and this is not the way to treat people. Especially those who have intentions of spending a lot of money. Bad move.

LINDSAY (worked on the night of September, 1st 2016) .. ... RUDE BARTENDER ... Worse service I have ever had. The other bartenders were really great! Not even that I didnt tip. I am also a bartender. I left much more than 20%. I even mentioned our disappointment to the other bartender that unluckily works with her, and she said she UNFORTUNATELY hears all sorts of complaints about Lindsay all the time. What a shame cuz the place is actually cool.

Excellent west King street bar which gets packed pretty quickly from Thursdays to Saturdays. Best priced drinks prior to 11pm anywhere downtown. Top notch great looking staff and some of the nicest security at the door.

Went out here one night and had such a fun time ! We went really early after the comedy show and they were just ending happy hour. There wasn't many people in the place yet but, by the night went on, the place was filled ! I think there was even a line outside when we left. The bartenders were nice and were having fun while chatting it up with us. Drinks were reasonably priced and has a homey feel to it like your regular local bar back at home. We hung out here for a few hours and they played awesome music. Majority of the crowd was singing with the songs towards the end of the night. A lot of fun and highly recommend this place if you're looking for a casual fun time !!

There are dives and there are even worse dives. Ordered 2 rum and cokes and was charged $15 and not the $4 per drink as advertised. When I questioned this the bartender basically said I was served the top shelf rum even though I never asked for it. That aside, this place has decent music but that's about it. This place is on the dirty side and truly is the definition of a dive bar .

This is my new favorite place. I'm new to Toronto and I was looking for a place with good music that's not filled with toddlers. This place caters to a crowd that appreciates some of the classics and it seems to be a pretty good place to meet men. The coat check girls and bartenders are super friendly and even the security guard has a sense of humor. I would take points of because the bathroom seems like a dungeon and was flooded last time I was there but I'll let it slide for now. I've gone twice and once there was a line and the other there wasn't so I can't comment on what's usual. There's no cover though and coat check is $3.

What I learned from my experience at 2cats: How to Pick up a Lady: Step One: Find target (don't be picky just go to the closest one) and do the polite thing which is to talk incredibly close to them. (Hey you gotta make sure their breath smells ok). Then proceed by yelling "WHAT'S YOUR NAME?!?!" Step Two: When the girl replies "Sorry but I am having a conversation with my friend", ask them if they are lesbian. Because they must be...right..? When they quickly answer yes, move on to next target. Right next to the previous target to show them just how smooth your lines can be. Step Three: Wear something like huge glasses (with no lens) that will get you noticed. They will be so preoccupied with them they will not even hear your cheesy lines that impress your buddy that is doing the same. Step Four: If the reply is "I have a boyfriend", assure them that you have a girlfriend. And that you just want to show them your place. Also note to them that you are especially good at certain specific activities..that will definitely reel them in! Then finish the night off with spooning with your buddy with many drunken conversations that include "I love you man". Aww. All in all, this place plays excellent music (good rock tunes) and has a really great staff. Bartenders were friendly and drinks were perfectly priced. It is also the only place I have ever been where you need to take cover every minute you are there, in order to avoid the monkeys. Have to say it is entertaining to watch them though. If you are a non-monkey guy my advice: go to this place, watch the monkeys, and swoop in and save the day. Maybe you'll teach them a thing or two. Will be coming back but sorry monkeys..no banana for you.

A nice casual, cozy place to have a drink. A few things to note: - wine is over priced here, stick to speedrail drinks and beer. I actually saw a guy carrying a 6 of Corona in the cardboard case you buy them in. - there is a step down from the front area to the bar area. If you don't know this, you may catch your heel on the step and fall completely flat on your face, requiring someone to pick you up by the arm. The crowd gets points for not openly laughing at the completely overdressed chick bailing at the crowded bar.

This is a nice place to relax. Good Music , Mixed Ages. They have $4.00 Drinks from 8 until 11 PM. Which is a amazing deal. The one thing I personally do not like is the place can get pretty aggressive with the pushing and shoving around bar later in evening when it gets busy. It can get a bit of a "Jock" crowd that likes to push their weight around smaller people. Washrooms are a disaster as they are too small for the size of bar.

I don't know exactly what it is about this place that I love, but I do. I really do. I live dangerously very close to the bar, so it makes for a great last minute decision when I want to go somewhere but don't want to think about it. Or when I shouldn't be going out at all...2 cats is a temptress! No cover! Amazing...granted sometimes the line is ridiculously long. The bar is small and kinda divey, but not really. People are cool. Not too hipstery or anything which is nice. You can wear anything...dress up, casual, business. Whatever goes. Music is eclectic, but fun. Makeshift dance floor always a good time. Tip...if you lose your friends, just walk counterclockwise. Eventually you'll find them as the place is so small. Oh, and cheap drinks before 11pm!

My friend and I came here after a long absence from this hangout. Coat check for $3 and let's go... Asked for 2 vodka and sodas from one of many bartenders. What? $15? We were served premium brand and not the $4 bar rail brand...very dishonest customer service! We weren't told about the option. Got hosed so I'm not happy. That aside, great music and party atmosphere so 4 stars for that part. Party on!!!!

LOUD. MUSIC. LOUD. MUSIC. I was basically screaming into people's ears whenever I needed to communicate with them. I had to yell my drinks at the bartender four times before he heard what I was saying. That said, it makes for a really fun atmosphere if you're there to dance. (Bring that talk elsewhere!) The area is quite spacious and the crowd seems like a nice, tame mix. Mostly younger people, some suits, some casually dressed. Again, like everywhere on King West it seems, interior is all woodsy and cozy-cabin-hipster. - Line was killer on Saturday night. Took like an hour to get in! - Coat check was $2.50. Drinks are reasonably priced, $5-7. - You are allowed to go out for a smoke or a breath of fresh area; bouncer will let you back in. Overall, made for a fun night. Would definitely come back again!

This is definitely for the 35+ crowd...if not 40+. Gack. I have no idea how people communicate, it's damn loud in there and damn packed. Maybe it's super loud because of the older crowd (who are presumably hard of hearing now??) Fun times can be had with it being packed and booze being cheap for king west BUT I wouldn't go out of my way to go here. I think there's a line-up to get in only because it's so damn small inside. I hear there is happy hour from 5-7pm here. If you go here on Thursday, make sure you get there by 9.45pm or else you will wait in line for a good 30 mins or more. You don't want to do that in winter. And when you get in, you'll be underwhelmed ("I waited that long for this?!")

The service is good, same with the location. But you def gotta be 35-40+ as they play almost all 80's music. Everyone seemed to be having a good time but I was a kid at 31 in comparison to the rest. Seems like a good spot but not for me!

Haven't stopped by this place in years, but was persuaded by some new friends to join them on a recent Thursday evening, after cocktails at a couple of other spots. As I said, I haven't been here in years, so I was pleasantly surprised to see that the renovations have actually made it significantly larger than it used to be. The music was quite good, lots of retro stuff. However, it was a bit loud. The wine we had was meh. Overall, it was ok, in that we got there early enough that we didn't have to wait in line and there was no cover. That being said, I'm not sure that I'll be rushing back there anytime soon, when there are so many other spots in the city,

Used to be an amazing spot for casual conversation with about every person in there! Renovations are great, but it seems like the crowd has changed since. Went there on a Thursday and the majority was suits. What??? I hope that's a Thursday thing! Will try the weekend and update......

I'm a girl who wears jeans with heels, drinks beer and grooves to Bowie and the Boss, so I'm a big fan of this spot. It's nice to be out on King but not have to deal with the pretention - the crowd is very diverse and friendly, generally a good place to mingle and meet new people. The back corner becomes a makeshift dance floor, but this gal makes one anywhere she goes and no one seemed to mind. Its also pretty great that you don't need to pay cover. It also fills up fast - in the course of 15 minutes, usually between 10:30 - 10:45, the place can go from empty to a line at the door. There are tables to sit at until it gets busy, if that's a concern for you (nobody wants to be 'that guy' at the bar). Overall, a pretty laid back place to spend a night.

Locals favourite. Thursday nights are always full of people who let happy hour turn into a good night, older music that's fun to sing along to and a mixed crowd, usually a line up and busy on the inside (which is small) I've never been disappointed with the energy levels

A very nice atmosphere...not pretentious and super music played over a clear sounding sound system. Narrow bar area is great for socializing; you can start the conversation with, "Sorry I stepped on your foot!" Nice area for socializing and talking in the front of 2 Cats. I agree with the friendly and upbeat energy from the women who were dancing conga lines here, to older music you can sing along to. Ie. Life is a highway, and Hurts so good. It wasn't what I was expecting from the reviews. I was expecting a little more hip and trendy but we had a nice time. My younger sister in her 20s even wanted to return at the end of the night for the happy-go-lucky vibe. It's a narrow venue and the dance 'corner' is dark and small with no lighting what so ever. On the Thursday night we came there were mostly nicely dressed professionals standing along the long bar. Average drink prices. There was no cover or line up at 9pm. Had a coat check which I appreciated still being available this time of year.

If you're into casual drinks and conversation with little attitude, this is your place. Not for the high roller / gold digging crowd. Cheap drinks on Thursdays before 9 with oldies but goodies when it comes to music...anything from Simple Minds to Depeche Mode.

First off, the website and sign on the door says that they open at 8. Not so. When we arrived just after 8 we were told to leave as they do not open until 9. Fine. We came back at 9:30 and went to the bar to get a drink. The two female bartenders were engaged in what was surely an in-depth intellectual discussion as they completely ignored us for ten minutes! They kept looking at my friends and I but ignored us completely. When we did finally get served the bartender was rude and didn't bring change as if I were going to leave her a ten dollar tip. The crowd was cheesy, low brow and the place completely sucked. So many other great places to go. Will NEVER be returning there.

Pros: Staff is awesome - best I have seen in the city Drinks are well-made Casual atmosphere...no pretentious bs here Cons: Way. Too. Loud. It was nearly impossible to talk to anyone, let alone maintain a conversation. This gets frustrating really quickly. Music is a bit random. I am all for classics, but a mix of some more current top 40 would go a long way. Even more 90s, less obscure 70s. I'd go back but would prefer to bar hop than spend a full night there. Definitely go early to avoid lines.

2 Cats. Don't really get why it's called 2 Cats but that's OK. Traveling on business to meet CIBC, I ran into a fella who happened to be staying at the Hilton Toronto and he was staying on my floor. We decided to go to 2 Cats to meet some of his girls there. Crazy thing is, he had a 'law' exam and he wanted to go out, drink and do drugs. Now 2 Cats ended up having a line but we were able to get in fairly quickly. Once I was in, I was a bit disappointed because the place looked fairly run down. The music was blasting and there was a small dance floor in the back. It's like a local dive bar back in the bay. Another disappointing aspect was that the ratio of women and men was a bit teetering because I didn't see many made up women there. The bathroom downstairs was really grimy and small. All in all, this place is alright but I can also imagine it being great if you want something low key and fun. This was my first bar experience in Canada let alone Toronto so I was a bit disappointed but you know what, the drinks were cheap and the place wasn't too bad.

I have been here quite a few times and LOVE this place on the weekend. It can get a bit packed but generally has a good crowd and awesome music. It's a nice change from the usual King West places and there is no cover charge. I wish it were a little bit bigger but I really like the social atmosphere of this place. I always have a great night!

Crowded, loud, very hard to talk. Was there on a Saturday and the music was TERRIBLE. Really bad. They say "retro 80s" but like, all the 80s music that wasn't good enough to play on the radio. I liked the older crowd but that's about it at this place.
