Yelp
Returned to My Loup, this time on a Friday at 7. Thrilled to sit in the main dining room this time, as its cozy and gorgeous. We decided to splurge and have the chef cook for us (125/ per person). This was a great decision as we got to try a huge array of dishes and with very generous portions including: A beautiful seafood platter of (1) 6 oysters, (2) a pair of Maine Sea Urchins, Sweet Potato, Brioche, and (3) Bay Scallops, Parsnip, Hazelnut, Asian Pear. Every bite was fresh and new, and the whole thing was beautiful. Plus we got the pickled shrimp on the side! After that, we were presented with Cold Roast Pork, Bagna Cauda, Celery, Capers, Fries (astonishingly good); Chicories, Apples, Cheddar, Buttermilk, Winter Crunch; and Pastrami Beef Tartare, Latkes, Yellow Mustard, Fixings. Next we shared Grilled Bone-In Turbot, Potato, Spinach, Mussels. Finally, there was a raisin crème brûlée and an ice cream. And two Rice Krispie treats to take home! We started with cocktails and then had a bottle of orange wine from Slovenia. We interacted with about 4 different staff, all lovely and very informed. This place is a true gem. Not cheap, but very high value.

Yelp
I'd been eyeing My Loup for a while after hearing so many rave reviews, and finally got the chance to try it. I've been to Her Place Supper Club (from the same team), and while I loved the ambiance and service there, the food didn't quite stick with me. So I came into My Loup curious, but hopeful. We had reservations at the bar, and our server/bartender was warm and welcoming. We started with the Extra Sour Sourdough served with whipped butter, cornichons, and pearl onions. A simple dish, but it was done really well. The bread had that perfect chew with a satisfying tang. Solid start and definitely something I'd recommend. Next up was the Yellowtail with Carrot and Orange. The flavor combo was bright and citrusy, but the yellowtail itself tasted a bit too fishy for me. The other ingredients tried to balance it out, but it didn't quite land, probably wouldn't order this one again. The Maine Sea Urchin with Sweet Potato and Brioche came beautifully presented in a sea urchin shell. Flavor-wise, it was unique and well-balanced, though I was hoping for a bit more uni for the price. Still, it was interesting enough that I'd order it again. Then came the Pastrami Beef Tartare on Latkes. Cool concept, and the flavors were decent, but as someone who holds beef tartare to a high standard, it didn't quite blow me away. Good, not great. Green Garlic Escar Roll. This dish was highly recommended, so we were curious. It came out looking like a cinnamon roll, literally. We expected something lighter, maybe a puff pastry tart with a garlicky escargot center. Instead, it was doughy and dense, and the escargot inside lacked bold flavor. A creative idea, but the execution didn't quite land for us. But the star of the night? The Bone-In Filet. Served with onions, sherry, and Birchrun Blue, this dish was everything I hoped for and more. Perfectly cooked, meltin your mouth texture, and that rich sauce tied it all together. The onions were a nice touch, and although the blue cheese wasn't totally my flavor profile so I didn't eat the cheese. We also had a side of fries and they were decent, just needed a bit more crunch, but dipping them into the steak sauce? Chef's kiss. We skipped dessert this time, but I'd definitely come back, especially for that filet. Overall: 4 out of 5 stars. Some dishes missed the mark, but the highlights made the visit worthwhile.

Yelp
First dinner in Philly while I was visiting the city a few weeks ago and I had an incredible time! Saw My Loup mentioned as a place to go while doing research about eateries walkable from my Airbnb near Chinatown and everything truly lived up to the hype. Presentation, ambience, food and drinks were all amazing and my only regret was being a party of one because I didn't get to try more of the menu items before I was too stuffed to continue. Jill at the bar helped put together an incredible tasting menu for me, and also mixed some delicious cocktails to go with the small plates. I started with the amaretto sour, which was strong but very smooth. I mentioned I loved seafood and raw fish, so the first dishes I tried were the sweet potato + sea urchin and the pickled shrimp. The sea urchin mousse was so creamy and sweet; the pickled shrimp was wonderfully tangy atop a spread of aioli and contrasted super well with the crunchy saltines & the aromatic basil. Next came a main of roast pork and celery with perfectly crispy fries, as well as amazing single diner portions of the pastrami beef tartare (astride a latke!) and a couple of creamy broccoli clams casino. By this point I was stuffed, but I was still able to end my meal with the wonderful citrus trifle and citrus paloma! Rolled all the way back to my Airbnb with a light buzz and warm belly :) Thanks to Jill & team for making my first night in Philly a delicious one.

Yelp
I had dinner at My Loup this past Friday night. What a treat. I was solo dining so I had a seat at the bar. It looks tiny, but it's long. But it is small and intimate and still very comfortable. According to their description on Resy, their menu is "French Canadian with a lighter touch." I wanted everything on the menu. Luckily, their staff are wonderful, and the bartender (I wish I could remember her name) made me recommendations on how best to tackle their current menu as a solo diner (I didn't want to over-order but I didn't want to get just one entree and then not be able to try anything from the rest of the menu!). Without her help, I probably would have ordered two dishes, but she walked me through the sizes of the dishes and I was able to try three. I started with their very popular Pickled Shrimp with aioli and saltines. When it came to the table, I was informed to think of it like a Lunchable: grab a saltine, spread on some of their aioli, and the add a shrimp and some basil from the jar. It was a fun and delicious. A great starter. Then I had their chilled courgette (zucchini) soup with a salad of chilled lobster and two fried zucchini blossoms. This isn't a dish I necessarily have ordered without the bartender recommending it, and I'm so glad she recommended it. It was one of the best dishes I've this year. My last course was their soft shell crab with tomatoes, which was good, too. I had a couple of glasses of wine (one orange and one sparkling). I also chatted with women sitting on either side of me at the bar; good food makes people happy and chatty (so does good wine and creative cocktails). So the meal was delicious and fun and in the most friendly, cozy environment. A meal to remember! I'd love to return.

Yelp
A couple of weeks ago I happened upon a reservation for My Loup for that very night, so I snagged it for 530 on a Friday. I, of course, had been wanting to try My Loup ever since it opened so 530 was more than fine with me. I grabbed my friend and after arriving, ordering delicious cocktails, and looking over the menu we opted for the chef's tasting for $125. It was a great decision. The beautiful food kept arriving and it took all of the decision making away so we could just enjoy. The food, all of it, was delicious. Truly. And if you find yourself here, you might want to opt for the tasting menu. You will be delighted with every bite.

Yelp
When The New York Times included My Loup in its 2023 list of the 50 best restaurants in the United States, and Eater named it one of the twelve best new restaurants in the nation, you go!! I agree with these experts. My Loup is a French restaurant that opened in May 2023. The culinary team is led by chefs and life partners Amanda Shulman and Alex Kemp. The menu at My Loup is eclectic and ever-changing. These chefs are creative and seasonal. My faves were the pickled shrimp served with aioli and Saltines and beautifully prepared seafood options like sea bass. delicious! Very much enjoyed this menu.

Yelp
Wow. Wow. Wow. Do you ever have a dish and think about it the day after and then a week after that? Doesn't happen for me often but it happened here Came here with my husband for his birthday dinner. I had medium expectations since I've been hearing good things about this spot. The only downside is that we waited about 20 min for our reservation but we ordered a cocktail while waiting. I got something called swamp water and while it was tasty it was $27 so I was starting to be sus but then the food changed the mood We started with pickled shrimp, fluke and skate and all were INCREDIBLE. That pickled shrimp; I need it once a week thank you. Everything had a great flavor, good cook and fresh. The sea urchin tho wasn't as umami as I would prefer it so I'd skip that if you had to pick. Then we got the sea bass and rabbit. I'm not a rabbit person but my husband said it was delish. But that sea bass blew my mind. The flavors, the crispness of the skin but succulence of the fish. The mussels chowder with the pork belly and those beans. I will crave this dish for awhile now til I have it again. Dessert was decent but nothing wow'd me. My server was also kinda cold but other 2 male servers that jumped to help randomly were very nice and helpful All in all, I need to try that sea bass again and down to try their other dishes

Yelp
Disappointing. I'm a huge Her Supper fan and had high expectations. What didn't I like? First it's loud. Way too loud. You can't hear yourself think. The clientele last night seemed very see-and-be-seen, a little too cool for school. Our server had a splash of attitude and didn't really know her wines. She literally read the bottle then poured. The food was good. Not exceptional, but good. Overall a meh experience. Shocked by all the hype.

Yelp
I would like to give a 4 but I only had two apps and one was awesome the second meh! Scallop crudo with pepper vinaigrette and sweet peppers was awesome! Beautiful presentation and well done! Cold roast beef with radishes and watercress and grits! Meh! Needed some flavors added. They encourage to eat the way it is done in Montreal, with your hands! Roast beef was nothing spectacular! Radish had no flavor and watercress well is watercres! Presentation was nice but I think much better items on the menu that I would like to go back and try! Staff were awesome! Shout out to them!

Yelp
I have now done regular dining and larger group dining at My Loup and am so glad that the food and service remain consistently good regardless of party size. My Loup is excellent for a date nights and special occasions. It is almost like an easier starting point if you want to try Her Place but can't get a table and have hesitations about a fully pre-set menu. This is the kind of spot that no matter what your preferences are, try everything. Unless you have allergies, then please do not ignore your allergies. Honestly though, it might be worth a minor allergic reaction... Also, the playlist is always 11/10.

Yelp
So delicious! Escar-roll is a must have. Has flakey buttery spiral roll with escargot sprinkled throughout. The raw tuna dish was our second favorite and so fresh. They even gave us a blueberry cake as a desert for my birthday which was so sweet Burrata salad and skate also tasty but the escar roll outshined everything Worth the wait. Great music and attentive service! Server gave us all of these recommendations

Kevin R.

Yelp
Cozy, inviting, and intimate establishment with amazing service serving up great handcrafted cocktails with a very creative and at times playful menu. The caviar on chicharon is a great example of pairing high end caviar with crunchy and salty comfort food. Our amazing server suggested a Port alternative to pair with our dessert, and the liquor could not have been more perfect. This is a great date night spot not recommended for large groups.

Yelp
Vibes: intimate, casual; bring a date or a friend Tasting notes: - Pickled shrimp: large and peeled; fairly light dish - Stuffed zucchini blossom: very crisp fry with a thin batter; each one was about a couple bites in size; jam was slightly sweet with some lovely umami - Stuffed squid: slightly charred with smoky flavor; green olives offered a buttery contrast to the vinaigrette - Hot and cold crab: perfectly fried meaty soft shell crab topped with a fine egg salad and atop a cold, just creamy enough crab salad - Skate: just a bit of sear otherwise tender and savory; paired with the most delightfully fragrant, rich and smooth sauce; loved the large, sweet, blistered tomatoes - Sour cherry and salted caramel sundae: unique but very complementary swirl; loved the caramel frosting-like syrup laced in; shareable for two Other thoughts: - above meal was satisfying for two hungry adults - fairly loud on a weekday night between customers and overhead music - water glass was pretty much always quickly refilled - first two dishes came quickly (zucchini blossoms and pickled shrimp), and then there was about a 20-minute lull until next set of dishes Impression: will be dreaming about the crab for a while, cannot wait to see the next iteration of the menu!

Yelp
We had a phenomenal dinner here. The pickled shrimp, sourdough, chicken, escar-roll, and especially the fried skate cheeks and chocolate cake were all amazing. Can't wait to come back and try even more.

Yelp
A birthday dinner. My wife set it up and we did the tasting. It was very good. Service was friendly and informative. We were unsure of what we were eating with some of the courses but Danielle was extremely accommodating and we really enjoyed the experience. The place is like a hole in the wall from the street but once inside it was very nice and we were sat at a table for two in the dining room area. There were about 8-10 tables back there and a few tables out front near the street. It was very nice and we were informed that it has only been open for 18 months. A nice place. We would return when in town. Mark & Nancy.

Yelp
Had an awesome dinner at my loup recently - the service, food and ambiance were all wonderful. Opted to sit at the bar which is fun and long, dividing two dining rooms. The lead bartender was great and helped with ordering/was engaging the entire time. food and drinks were delicious - favorite dishes were the pickled shrimp, tuna salad crudo, escar-roll, cold roast beef. will return to try future menus

Yelp
Cozy place! My Loup is a French restaurant that features classics with a modern twist. The presumption that French food is laden with cream and butter is debunked here. We enjoyed our dinner family-style. * Pickled Shrimp - unique flavors. Be sure to place the shrimp atop the saltine cracker for added texture! * Extra Sour Sourdough Bread - it's all in the name...fresh baked and it was indeed sour but not overly so * Cold Roast Beef - cold-cuts this is not! Tender lean meat sliced thin and served chilled * Green Garlic Esca-roll - the puff pastry added nice balance * Halibut - tender and amazing with the smoked butter accoutrement (light and flavorful) * Roast Half Chicken - juicy and ample in size Service was efficient and friendly. And don't you love when restaurants offer complimentary sparking water? If you're unable to land a reservation, then belly up to the bar and enjoy your dinner there!

Liz M.

Yelp
You absolutely need to have an Escargot Roll. No notes on this dish and honestly it worth going to My Loup for this dish alone. I went to a 9:15 pm reservation which is a real stretch for me as far as time goes but it was worth the late experience. Had several other dishes and a phenomenal cocktail but didn't stop eating my escargot roll after I got it and was too distracted to take more photos. I've also been to the bar on another occasion and had great bar service. Long story short, go for the food but stay for the ambiance.

Ruby C.

Yelp
We sat at the bar table and it was a vibe. Very busy as a fine dining spot, but I got the hype! They change menu daily based on what is fresh. * Sea Urchin, Sweet Potato * They mashed sea urchin and sweet potato into a creamy mixture, and delicately poured it into a sea urchin shell. Breadcrumbs were added for extra crunch and texture. I appreciated the creativity of flavors and presentation of this starter. * Green Garlic Escar-roll ** MY FAVORITE of the night or maybe even in the entire Philly trip. It was a brioche roll soaked in green garlic sauce packed with chunks of escargot, topped with shredded cheese. So so soooo buttery. A tasty match made in heaven. * Duck Breast, Kumquats, Beets My friend's favorite! Perfectly cooked meat with a golden crispy skin and pinkish center. The kumquats and beets were some delightful sides to dip with the sauce. * Littleneck Clams, Fennel, Kielbasa, Vermouth The saltiness from fennel sausages and briny taste of the clams blended pretty well tgt. It came with French fries with malt vinegar aioli which we really enjoyed。 * Banoffee Pie Eclair ** I am a sucker for banoffee pies and this eclair version was incredible. It featured a choux pastry shell filled with layers of toffee cream, sliced bananas, and whipped cream. I wish this could be on the menu forever so I could order it again. * Rosemary Fig Highball A rosemary-forward mocktail. Very refreshing and appetizing to pair with our meal.

Yelp
My God. How much did I love My Loup? I was coming from out of town and I was able to secure a 6PM reservation 2 weeks in advance. The restaurant is the cutest. It's very homey, it very much feels like you're having dinner at someone's house. There are tchotchkes, cookbooks, and fun pictures on a back wall. There's also a big window which brings in natural lighting. The servers, everyone I interacted with were the nicest. My server in particular gave great advice on how much food I should order and she was spot on. I started with the My Loup Cesar [$14], which despite its name, is not a salad but a Bloody Mary. It was delicious. I love that it was garnished with a packet of saltines and olives. I had: Scallops, Kumquats, Yogurt [$21] which was served in clam shell. It was the cutest. The scallops were so fresh and the kumquats on top gave the dish an interesting sweet and tart vibe. Nduja Olives [$7 each] this was like a stuffed fried ball of pork and olives. It was surprisingly light and satisfyingly crunchy in all its salty porky goodness. Seared Duck with Grapes and Beets [$50] was the prettiest plate of food I have ever seen [until dessert].The sauce was a vibrant red and dotted with pieces of grape and beets. The duck could've been spiced a little more but it was very delicious and the sear made the breast real crispy. Lastly, the Rhubarb and Cream Cheese sundae [$14] was to die for. It was so creamy. You could really taste the cream cheese and the bits of rhubarb on the bottom really made the dish. The two short bread cookies on the side were DELICIOUS and added a bit of salty pizzazz. I paid $151 after tax and tip. PS: the Cote de Boeuf for two looked like an epic masterpiece

Yelp
Atmosphere - there is a ton of energy in the place due to how busy it is. Tables full of chatter, a bar with two bartenders churning out constant drinks, music overhead, and a dark but homey ambiance decorating the walls. My Loup feels exciting, and for good reason Service - our server was excellent; she was personable and provided great recommendations when we asked. Plates were cleared shortly after we finished, and the table was always kept clean as we waited for the next course. Top notch Food - the star of the show, did not disappoint. The menu is small, but everything on it is quality. It's eclectic enough that you can feel adventurous, but there are plenty of elevated classics on there as well. Two small plates and two large plates were perfect for two people, the dessert had us stuffed. Plates are generally meant to be shared, and everything was cooked perfectly. We didn't have a single bad bite Drinks - they have a small collection of house cocktails and a modest wine list. Both of our cocktails were stunning, and fit the vibe of the food by being a little bit different but still very familiar Price - it is an expensive meal but it felt pretty fair for the quality of the experience. Expect about $100 per person if you go for a full course meal Overall, an amazing dining experience through and through. Great for small groups between 2-4, but you'll have to make your reservation far in advance. You won't get an intimate date night here, but you will get an experience you'll remember if you're passionate about good food

Sharvani M.

Yelp
Super fancy French food in an intimate, upscale setting. We did a little girls' night dinner out here and shared the croquettes to start. While there was nothing vegetarian on the menu, the kitchen was able to make me a mushroom "risotto" that was pretty good, really creamy, rich, and truffle-y. Service was excellent - attentive and our server explained everything and was able to make adjustments to some items. We also shared the desserts which were for us a standout - the berry pie tart situation and the chocolate fudgey cake. Both were delicious! Recommend My Loup for a night out or date night meal, it definitely feels special.

Nola S.

Yelp
Cute, casual atmosphere with attentive waitstaff and innovative dishes. The pickled shrimp was unlike anything I'd ever had and every item was fresh and cooked to perfection. I'd recommend a reservation because it is rather small; however, it seems the fewer tables allows for the kitchen to ensure each dish is perfect. Can't wait to return as they have a rotating menu each week!

Melissa A.

Yelp
After hearing all the hype about My Loup over the past year, I finally went to see what this place was about. All I can say is - WOW. Such a a unique menu (most of which was food I had never tried before) and very cozy but trendy vibe inside. The servers were all very kind and knowledgeable about the menu, and our server ultimately pointed us towards some of the most popular (and delicious!) options. The Food: 1) I was a bit skeptical about pickled shrimp on the saltine crackers, but omg this combination was just perfect. 2) osyters were fresh, juicy and came w plenty of toppings. However, I wouldn't say these were super unique to My Loup. 3) the Escar-roll was fantastic! Our server described it as "imagine a cinnamon roll but instead of sugar it's a garlic, green sauce with escargot rolled into fresh dough and covered in butter). We were immediate sold and are so glad we ordered it! 4) the Sablefish covered in potato chips was insane. very rich and perfectly cooked. 5) I didn't get a picture, but we ended the meal with a lemon tart (+ a candle on top for my birthday). It was very citrus forward and creamy, however the tart shell was a bit too hard to cut with a spoon. Overall my experience was 10/10. My Loup is now on my personal list of Philly gems, and I will certainly be returning the next time they change up the menu.

Ronen A.

Yelp
Really fun menu. Ambiance was perfect. Service was elegant and humble. Can't wait to to go back

Morgan C.

Yelp
Incredible. Wonderful. Delicious. Vibes were great - especially appreciated the 90's playlist towards the end of the evening. Service was perfection, bartender was attentive and friendly. Food was amazing and came quickly. Corpse Reviver cocktail was absolutely devine. Cannot wait to come back!

Yelp
I hosted a business dinner at My Loup and was disappointed. I have been to Her Place (sister restaurant) several times and enjoyed its amibiance and creative food concepts and expected a similar experience at My Loup. At My Loup the service was mediocre at best with the wait person seemingly uninterested in providing more than the bare service needs. Further the accoustics were bad and loudness was distracting. The food was uninspired with the chopped salad being just that, the Sourdough bread was good but overpriced. The Roast chicken with stuffed morels, sported a heavy sauce and the morels were not stuffed. The skate wing was overcooked, and the pork loin flavor was compromised by too much fennel. All in all, this restaurant should do better.

Sophie W.

Yelp
We had a late night dinner scheduled here and it was wonderful! The restaurant is noisy and cozy, with a counter along the back where you can hang out with a drink while you wait for your table to be ready. My friend and I each had espresso martinis and they were delicious. For food, we had: Scallop crudo: 4/5. The scallops were so fresh and sweet, but the cucumbers were kind of a bland accompaniment. Smoked eel Caesar: 4/5. I feel like most Caesar salads I have are far too salty, but I did love the eel in this salad, I feel like it really elevated the fish flavor that usually is only provided by anchovies. Fried zucchini flowers: 5/5. These were so good! Bursting with flavor, stuffed fully with cheese. Beef and lamb tartare: 5/5. Also loved these, especially the fried (?) sourdough that was under the meat. Grilled swordfish: 3/5. This was ok. I thought the sauce was way too rich, but swordfish was well cooked. Corn creme brûlée: 5/5. The perfect dessert! The corn flavor actually came through really strongly, which I loved. Also this creme brûlée was way bigger than the ones I'm used to. Would recommend for date night!

Yelp
Okay you guys. I don't know how to break it to you, but this was THE best meal of my life ohmygod. It is a must go for all people, whether you're in Philly or not. We did the cook for us tasting menu, and they let you modify it with your preferences as you like! Since it was hot outside, we asked for a few more raw seafood options to be included. So so freaking good, a miracle of a meal. Every single dish was so delicious and flavorful and such a wonder to the palate. Cooked extraordinarily perfectly, not a single miss. Even the drinks were mindblowing--I got the key lime pie drink, and it was amazing. Beautiful interior with intimate seating for couples and groups, interesting decorations to see, and the best servers! Reservations are notoriously difficult to get, idk how we got ours but I'm highly thankful

Payal P.

Yelp
Amanda Shulman does it again! What a brilliant fine dining French food restaurant. Her and her partner have amazing vision and it clearly shows with all of the different dishes prepared. The place is pretty small but located right at the heart of rittenhouse. The service was great. Someone took our coats from us when we arrived and we were then quickly seated. I really like how the menu rotates. It highlights their talents. Started off with an oyster and a My Loup Caesar as a cocktail. Usually I find them snotty but this was a nice and firm oyster. The My Loup Caesar was like a Bloody Mary and went really well with the oysters. The cocktail had maggi, hot sauce, and horseradish which packed a punch. We split a Green garlic escar-roll. It was so tasty. It was like a garlic knot with a ton of escargot in the middle. They weren't stingy about how many escargots were in there. The main course was Côte de Boeuf for Two. Honestly, that was enough for a whole meal. It was perfectly salted and every bite was wonderful. They brought out a red wine reduction sauce and bone marrow that was put in the middle of the mash potatoes. The dish even included salad. The only thing I didn't like was the bone marrow. I don't think it was easy to scoop it out and didn't taste as juicy as usual. Still everything was so amazing about Côte de Boeuf. We ended the night with dessert. The chocolate cake was ok but was very big (I couldn't finish it and had to take it home). This place is so delightful. I can't wait to visit again!

Sam H.

Yelp
We had to cancel due to an emergency, and they acted like a bunch of little bitches with nasty texts and accusations. This was childish behavior full of accusations and completely unnecessary. I'm sorry you don't have enough walk-ins to fill a single table.

Nikki K.

Yelp
Super nice date spot/upscale dinner! The food is similar in style and taste (excellent) to her place, but it is not a prefix menu which is nice. Would highly recommend the raw entrees and the dessert! The lobster, oysters, and chocolate cake were the highlights of the meal

Ju L.

Yelp
Made a reservation for our group for dinner at 7:30pm last night. Upon arrival, the table was not ready, so we waited, and waited... for about an hour before our table became available. While we waited, we had a couple rounds of drinks. The manager was incredibly apologetic that we had to wait so long and was kind enough to buy us a round. Later, during dinner, the kitchen also sent us some dishes compliments of the chef. After much waiting, we were finally seated. The next 2 hours flew by. Every single dish we ate was bursting with flavor and tasted so balanced. All the ingredients in each dish complemented each other so well. The raw oysters and the raw scallop dish from the menu jumped out at us, so we ordered them. Both tasted so fresh and delicious. The Beef Tongue Muffuletta was served on a focaccia toast - not too much bread, topped with a thinly sliced beef tongue and a briny, vinegary relish with what tasted like chunks of salami. The Philly Balls were just okay. At $5 per ball, they were small. I would recommend skipping it. The Smoked Eel Caesar Salad at $24, did not make sense to our wallets but was given to us on the house. I have to say we were all pleasantly surprised by how amazing this little salad tasted. It was one of our favorite dishes of the night. The Striploin served with fries was another one of our favorites of the night. The steak was tender, and the sauce was absolutely exquisite. We could not get enough of this dish. The fries were good too. The Lamb Shoulder was a very simple dish but was perfectly braised. It paired nicely with all the root vegetables it came with. As for dessert, our table shared a creamy soft-serve from 1-900-ICECREAM with teddy grahams. The perfect ending to a wonderful meal. For someone who loves wine, I had 3 cocktails last night and not a single glass of wine. The cocktails at My Loup were just that good. Pete's espresso martini is the one to get. Overall, we had a great time. The staff went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed ourselves. And the food and drinks were on point.

Yelp
I came here with a friend to celebrate my belated birthday. It was my first visit. It seems to be a great place for dates and celebrations, but does get a little loud during peak hours. For drinks I had the Passionfruit sour, which is a refreshing zero-proof beverage, a good balance of sweetness and tart. We both had the "let us cook for you!" option. Our first dish was the beef tartare/fried clams/clam-mayo on sourdough. The raw beef and fried clams complemented each other while the greens added some freshness to it. It was quite enjoyable. Next we had the scallop/melon/cucumber. It was another refreshing dish, a great mix of texture more so than taste. Then we had the "hot crab + cold crab"/thousand island/iceberg/fixings. It is one of their most popular dishes. The soft shells crab is decently big, but I think what makes it stand out is the play of flavors with the sourness from the cheese with the salty crab, fresh lettuce, and slightly sweet/tangy thousand island. After that was the smoked eel caesar/little gem/capers. It was surprisingly not too salty, but otherwise a decent salad. The 5th dish was the halibut/creamed corn/cherry tomatoes. This is quite the unique dish. It was just the right amount of creamy, a touch of sweetness, and mildly tart. Next we had the cold roast beef au poivre/fries and zucchini flowers/ham + cheese/dijonaise. The cold roast beef au poivre/fries is an interesting and less greasy twist on steak frites. I definitely appreciated it. The zucchini flowers/ham + cheese/dijonaise was a little heavy on the batter, but otherwise not too memorable of a dish. For dessert we had the chocolate cake and the sweet corn/blueberry sundae. They actually go well together. The sweet/tangy sweet corn/blueberry sundae balanced out the dark chocolate/coffee flavor from the cake. I thoroughly enjoyed the meal and would definitely return in the future.

Yelp
I have had My Loup on my Philly dining summer bucket list since it opened and was happy to snag a reservation for 1 last Wednesday night. From service to aesthetics to plating to flavor and every small detail in between, this spot delivers. Every single thing I ate was equal parts simple and revelatory, and I was grateful to experience the care that went into crafting every dish. Let's get into it: Oysters: some of the best I've ever had, definitely the best I've had in Philadelphia. Went with 4 and they smartly suggested two of each variety they had in. Served with a classic zippy cocktail sauce or vinegar mixture depending on your preference, these oysters are also salty, acidic perfection on their own. I would not recommend skipping and could have eaten like, 12 more. Philly ball: a fun addition to the menu that shows their capacity for play. A flavorful ground meat mixture surrounds melty provolone and is encased in a fried arancini-like crust. Topped off with clouds and mounds of freshly grated parm, I found one of these to actually be fairly filling. Again, simple, but an inspired homage to the flavors that are most closely associated with Philly. Striploin: this was insane. Served in a rich but light pickly sauce on the night I attended, this baby was cooked to perfection, plated and pre-cut beautifully with mustard seed adding texture/flavor, and served alongside a simple green fava bean and potato salad. I, like the savage I am, sat alone and absolutely went to town on this. I used the word simple, like, a thousand times in this review - but at the end of the day I truly believe that simplicity is what gives My Loup it's special sauce. I have yet to try Her Place but this made me so much more excited to snag that rez as soon as possible as well. Feeling lucky to live in Philly at the same time that Alex and Amanda are bringing their vision and special POV to the city's culinary scene, and will happily (like everyone) clap loudly at every dish, venture, and flavor they bring to life.

Yelp
Really really loved My Loup! Everything about this resturant is fabulous! From the ambiance, the drinks, the service and the food...everything is truly remarkable and unique. Everything was attention to detail and executed perfectly. We really enjoyed dining here and look forward to coming back! Some of our favorites on the menu were definitely the steak tartare and the oysters Rockefeller.

Yelp
From the makers of Her Place Supper Club, my Loup is a new French-American restaurant in Rittenhouse with cool vibes and big plates to share. The entire menu from the cocktails to the dessert are multi-level and feature complex layers. I had a Expresso martini with chocolate and mezcal, literally the most perfect salty/sweet drink in a glass. Other things we ordered: strip loin served with mushrooms and peas, lamb with fava beans, east coast oysters, fried soft shell crab w/caviar and the chocolate cake. Special shout out to the strip loin, the mushroom sauce it's served with can be a meal on its own. It was so rich and made me want to lick my plate clean. Be prepared to drive around to find parking, as street parking on the block is limited before 6:30pm. Paid lot parking is plentiful Lastly, you won't be dining here on a weekend, as my Loup is only open M-F! ( I love that for them)

Yelp
I booked this restaurant for a private event for women. The food and drinks were amazing and the space was so beautiful and warm on a very cold night. I cannot say enough good things about the staff. They were amazing.

Yelp
I tried out the adorable, cozy new restaurant with a friend on a weekday evening. I honestly wasn't sure whether to go in with high expectations so I lowered them and was pleasantly surprised. The space is pretty small so definitely not the best for groups. It worked best for parties of 4 or less. The dress code was pretty casual, but you can absolutely dress up and not feel out of place. The staff was wonderful. The drinks were DIVINE. The food on the other hand, had some hits and misses. We didn't love the lamb but the fries were perfect, the steak was a bit too chewy, Philly balls were great, the halibut cheeks were also great, as was the caviar. Overall, it's a cute space, it's definitely not on the cheaper side of things, but the drinks are very worth it.

Yelp
My Loup lived up to the illustrious recognition it has received in its brief time (on NYT's 50 best restaurants & Eater's 12 best new restaurants lists). Unique French cuisine with attentive service. Highly recommend the cocktails, oysters, beef tartare, and chocolate cake. The fluke crudo, bone marrow, and stuffed quail were also good, though we'll try other items when we go back. A big shoutout to the staff. They went above and beyond to make sure we had an enjoyable experience.

Yelp
Food was bad. Selection worse. Service bad with attitude no less. Don't waste your time or money here.

Yelp
Oh my Loup! What an absolute treat. They treat you like family, they're not over the top, yet they're amazing and exceed all expectations. Alex amazes in the kitchen, Neil runs the restaurant like a while oiled machine, and Jill absolutely ROCKS the cocktails. And what a wine list...you can't go wrong. While the menu changes daily, some highlights of the meal: Fluke crudo- melt in your mouth and the clam-mayo is that extra over the top Beef tartare- so flavorful, the grilled mushrooms are the perfect char to add and the crispy fries are absolute perfection Seared foie gras- while a very small portion, it's savory on top of French toast and umami carrots..what a surprising balance Halibut with creamed corn- must get! The sweet corn is the perfect combination with the brown butter. The fish is flakey and cooked perfectly. Can't skip dessert! Totally get the apple pie sundae. Weirdest and most amazing thing you'll have this fall. Amazing staff. Even better food. Can't wait to come back!

Yelp
The manager helped us work in an extra seat to the reservations. The server was very kind and recommended a few different wines, was very knowledgeable and helpful. The worst part about eating here is the opportunity cost is deciding on your meal- everything looks good and I got a pang of jealousy every time I saw a new plate come out of the kitchen. The atmosphere is beautiful and feels like I'm eating in someone's home. If you can, try the duck and cherries dish- it was a religious experience.

Yelp
CONGRATS on your newest spotto PHILLY's greatest power couple Amanda Shulman & Alex Kemp And congrats @myloup.phl on being in @nytimes ' Best 50 restaurants in America Such an AMAZING spot. Each dish was incredible: super fresh with rich & creative flavors. Must-go! _________ Honestly, when we walked by the entrance, we almost missed it! The entrance is so unassuming and decor felt so homey We didn't expect it at all We celebrated my boyfriend's mom's birthday here and it was just the perfect spot. Their years of experience + Canadian/French cuisine truly shines Few things to KNOW BEFORE YOU GO: book on @resy - open Mondays to Fridays (set alerts at least 2 weeks back.. that's what we did) menu changes DAILY based on what is fresh. What you see in this video may not be available a week or two later come with an openness to creativity & fresh seafood/meats. Dishes are decadent & rich great for dates & celebrations but I (& they) recommend coming in larger parties so you can try everything! Ask questions! The dishes have creative names make sure to ask what they are and sizes. Everything is different and we ended up getting stuff we didn't initially think about. The staff are SUPER nice WHAT WE GOT (everything was incredible): Cocktails Apps - Sour sour dough - Fluke Crudo with bacon - Green garlic Escargot Roll Mains - Lobster - Trout on Clam chowder Dessert (all 4): - Pear & Frangipane tart - Caramel apple profiterole - Chocolate cake - Grape & Olive Oil Soft Serve Follow for more @biteswithbessy on Instagram

Yelp
The food, the service, the atmosphere were all excellent and enjoyable. Our waiter suggested we share 2-3 appetizers and 1 entree. It was perfect, since then, we had room for the most delicious chocolate cake It's hard to pick a favorite. Everything was delicious

Yelp
Very much enjoyed our dinner at My Loup! While we agree that the restaurant requires you to speak loudly, it also felt cozy, at least toward the back of the dining room, with gorgeous wallpaper and bookshelves full of personal touches. Also have to note the beautiful bathroom (one of two single occupancy WCs). We considered the "Let Us Cook For You!" option, which pulls from the Raw, Appetizer, and Main sections of the menu (with guidance to your server as to what you would prefer not to eat), but does not give you exactly what's set forth on the menu; however, because our group wasn't interested in a Raw experience, we ordered à la carte. This wound up being more economical for our group, as we weren't drinking that night and knew we wanted to save room for dessert. Everything was delicious: some have already made future reservations and all have plans to return. We ordered: - Extra Sour Sourdough (cultured butter, pickles), which was delicious, especially the pickles! - Ham & Cheese Croquettes, again, loved the pickled garnish. - Clams Casino (poblano butter, bacon, lemon), because why go raw when you can have butter'n'bacon? - Bone Marrow (boquerones, tomato condiment), which was the group's least favorite dish of the night, but still enjoyable--wish I'd known that boquerones is anchovy! - Half Roasted Chicken ("safta" matzah balls, root veg, dill), which was the surprise favorite of the evening--we picked those bones clean! - Pork Cheek Pie (mustard, apple, watercress), which had such a delightfully light, flaky/buttery crust. - Apple Pie Sundae (apple sorbet, apple cider ice cream, apple compote, brown sugar oat crumble): we devoured this homey, zingy, tart, and sweet soft serve concoction. Midway through sharing, we mused about ordering another. We also inquired whether they were sold "to go" and intend to return simply for a table covered with this treat! - Chocolate Hazelnut Éclair: rich and perfect éclair. Fabulous job!

Yelp
Phenomenal restaurant!!! I could eat the pickled shrimp every day, it was so simple but so flavorful and a great starter. The Philly balls are fun although a little dry. The star of the meal was the soft shell crab. There was so much more on the menu we wanted to try, we will definitely be coming back!

Yelp
I really wanted to like this place. We waited for a special occasion due to the price. We made a reservation for 5:30 and it was pretty empty when we arrived but by 6 pm it was packed on a weeknight. Before others arrived the music was so loud it became difficult to hold a conversation and we had to ask the server to turn down the music. The decor in the restaurant is really unique with various cook books, family photos, sports memorabilia, etc. We didn't order drinks but they're pretty pricey. We did the tasting menu to get a sampling of a bunch of dishes. The first course was very very seafood heavy. The raw oysters were sublime...the rest was just ok. They had mussels in a bell pepper relish which were ok. I had read reviews about the pickled shrimp and was excited to try it but it was sadly pretty off putting. Between the texture of the shrimp and the pickling liquid it was a miss for me. There was also a fish spread with a vinegary mixture on top. A lot of vinegar, which I like vinegary stuff but it would have been nice to have a mix of flavors. The sourdough bread and butter was homemade and really good. The next course was the garlic escargot roll. I was excited about this too but it was just ok. The escargot was good and tender with a garlic flavor. However, the roll was soaked in oil and quite greasy. The cheese on it was also overpowering. We also had a pate with peaches which was really unique and pretty good. Last was a Brussels spout dish which was also vinegar heavy. Next for the main course they served a fried chicken. This was also a miss. Not much flavor at all and a little dry on the chicken breast part. I wished we had another meat for the main as I'd think it would have been better. We got to split a dessert for the last course which was kind of like a cream puff. Again, not anything to write home about. The one filling inside had a weird texture. Overall I was pretty disappointed for the price point and hype. I'm not sure if it was just an off night or we got the wrong items, but I would think that chefs tasting should highlight their best dishes. Maybe not. Sorry but I don't think we will be back.

Yelp
Sorry about it, But I'm not impressed at all Service beats the food* *pickled shrimp was aight. Fluke crudo was aight. Escar-roll was fun but just aight. Ham and cheese croquettes were mid at best. Halibut main was very strange- potato chips on top. Duck was actually delicious so that was a win. Banoffee pie eclair was delicious but messy as hell. Cocktails were excellent & the bartender was a delight. Overall, not worth the price and I will not be returning.
