Yelp
This place is so cozy and DELICIOUS. We came here during their opening week and it was packed so we had to wait about 30 minutes for our table. We were able to sit at the bar while waiting which was nice. They were out of a lot of beers and cider on their menu but I'm assuming this was due to opening week craziness. We tried two speciality pizzas and they were delicious and came out fast. The peppy boy is a must order. We also had the giardiniera dip and garlic bread. We devoured everything. I loved that this place had a real fireplace inside the restaurant for the winter as well as an awesome patio area for summer!! Hopefully Dicey's is here to stay!

Yelp
Food - nice thin pizza. Nothing memorable Service - felt like the staff was uninterested Ambiance - too dark and cold. Would go back if there were TVs for sports games

Yelp
Food is a two Service is a four Management is a one 7/15 averages to two stars Should not leave a restaurant hungry after an appetizer and an entree. Portions were too small. Server was very knowledgable about the menu and very polite. Was double charged. Brought it to the managers attention. He told me it was pending and wouldnt go through. First charge went through, then the second went through two days later. Had to dispute with the bank. He could have handled the small problem in the moment. But his apathy makes me not want to return.

Yelp
This place is such a miss. Ambiance feels like a divey bar trying to be cool but totally misses the mark. The servers are all very cold and unwelcoming. Pizza was so oily and tasteless and wildly expensive for what you got. Found a fried hair on my wings which they tried to tell me was a feather. Manager came over and didn't apologize. Overall 0 out of 10 experience.

Yelp
Oh dear, lots of one star reviews going on and I had an opposite experience so I had to weigh in! We came a few days after they opened and experienced a well trained staff (not overbearing and still pretty available to us), cute atmosphere, and reasonable prices. We ordered the roasted red pepper and vodka sauce pizza and OMG I loved it. The small was plenty for two (we weren't super hungry) Also to note: the lemon slushie drink? Liquid tart candy. Please do yourself a favor and get one. I plan to go back and update my review soon!

Yelp
I loved the pizza at Dicey's in Nashville, so I had high expectations for their new Chicago location that opened yesterday. I was not disappointed! Both the interior and exterior of this old Parson's location looked fresh and clean. The patio was set up nicely and we were greeted warmly upon entering the building. We were sat in a room that had a couple of pinball machines, which was fine, except one made a consistent alarm/beeping sound during our entire meal while it wasn't in use. This was irritating since only one other table was occupied in this room, so there was not much ambient noise to muffle it out. If we had been there while it was busier it wouldn't have been such a nuisance. Our server was amazing and the food was great, too. Our table shared a little gem salad and was able to swap out the dressing to make it vegetarian. We wished the potato chips had been crumbled on top of the salad instead of being tossed in whole to make it easier to eat and provide a more consistent texture throughout. I had a 9" veggie supreme pizza, which was awesome. The ranch dipping sauce tasted homemade and went great with the extra crunchy crust. We were very impressed with our experience and can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Dicey's has amazing pizza! Honestly, their tavern style crust is one of the best crusts I've ever tried. It's unique with its crispy cheesy goodness. I had the Peppy Boy pizza (cupped pepperoni & hot honey) and it was delicious! I also tried the garlic bread and simple salad which were both tasty. Service was quick and the interior is super fun. I can't wait to go back.

Yelp
I went here late on a Friday night and was met with delicious pizza, cold beer, and the desire to return to try more of their menu.

Yelp
Ordered Dicey's for delivery and ordered a small sausage and giardiniera pizza with garlic bread. The sausage and the cracker like crust on the pizza was delicious. The garlic bread was also very good, but could have had a little bit more cheese.

Yelp
Diceys feels like an elevated sports bar. The bar was packed and we waited about 30 minutes for a table. We ordered the chopped greek salad, buffalo wings, the peppy boy pizza, calabrian vodka pizza, and the chocolate and pumpkin cannolis. The vodka pizza and chocolate cannoli was my favorite choices of the night. I do like spicy food and both pizza and wings had a an indicator that it was spicy. I liked all three dishes with the peppy boy pizza being the spiciest, but nothing out of control.

Yelp
Really liked this place. Casual tavern vibe with plenty of bar seating. Nice menu, lots of cocktails and beers, unique appetizer selections, and a bunch of specialty thin crust tavern style pies. Service was friendly and fast (it was a Wednesday night). We ordered a Greek salad, some buffalo wings, and two pizzas... one pepperoni speciality and one spicy sausage giardiniera peppers. Greek salad was huge and delicious... especially liked the house made dressing. Buffalo wings were spectacular... lightly breaded with a perfect buttery tangy spiced buffalo sauce. Pizzas were also great... cracker thin crust, tasty, nice structure.

Yelp
I was really excited about this place opening up in the former Parson's spot. Unfortunately, both times the pizza was underwhelming. It comes out and looks like it's going to be charred and crispy but it's just SO greasy. The middle pieces just kinda get ruined. Service has been great both times. The salads are pretty tasty, highly recommend the one with the potato chips. It's right around the corner from me and they've got a great outdoor set up so I'll probably be back for that but kinda bummed about it

Yelp
I ordered pick up from here for dinner tonight. I was given a 45 min time, and the pizza was ready in 30. I picked up with the host and they have a little pizza warmer behind the counter. I'm glad it was packaged with napkins, crushed red peppers and parm. The garlic bread was kind of meh. No crisp whatsoever and not a lot of garlic flavor. The pizza was fine. It had some crispy to it. The flavor was fine. Maybe well-done might've been better, but I'd have to try that next time. As I walk by here, I think it's a fun/nice place to eat there and takeout doesn't give you that opportunity.

Yelp
These reviews are way too low. This is without a doubt some of the best tavern style pizza in the city. Easily better than the older, traditional joints who are still using dated ingredients and flavors. Dicey's tastes like they use much fresher ingredients. Really love their vodka pizza too, I haven't seen any other spots offering vodka tavern style pies. I'll continue to order from Dicey's whenever I want some quality tavern style :)

Yelp
Dicey (like shady) is the perfect name for this place! Beers are warm, pizza crust is greasy and wet, sausage is crumbs , and pepperoni is burnt to a crisp. It's amateur effort at pizza... think burnt Totino's; wouldn't pass against any legit establishment in quality or taste. Management was rude; never felt welcomed by anyone. Only interactions with us were to reprimand us. Mainly to tell us that we could not sit together with our group of 18 because of a fire code violation on their patio when we specifically asked the day before if it they could accommodate us. Hostess has stink eye for everyone and nobody seems happy to be there. Too bad, The neighborhood could have used a good pizza joint .

Yelp
Ahh! This used to be Parson's Chicken and Fish, remember that! This is by the same people that's behind this. I had their Tater Tots. The staff and service are magnificent.

Yelp
We had the little gem salad. Loved the lemon Caesar dressing & parm chips. Delicious milkshakes. Pizza was good too. Great service. Can't wait to come back. The booths were uncomfortable, so I switched to a table with a chair. But the ambiance was cute.

Yelp
This was our first time ordering from them. The pizza was overly smoky and dry. There was literally almost no sauce and little cheese! There are many better frozen pizza choices better than this. Very disappointed in this place and won't be back. Too many good pies to choose from in Chicago.
google avatar

Yelp
Just a note that they have a sign in the door and don't open until 4 pm for "holiday hours." For that reason I can't review the food or the atmosphere so I'll give it a 3 until I can.

Yelp
Ok, Chicago born, bred and fed trying Dicey's on day two of their opening! First impressions are crucial, the shop was very hardscaped but tolerable, pinball machines compete with the PA and ambient noise made conversation challenging, my guess it's an intentional design element. If you get Bella's section you'll be be treated with exceptional service and attention to details, made the visit a solid 10 on the returnometer! Had a nice salad starter, cold, crisp and perfectly dressed. Now the big Ta Da! The pizza .... Went for the 9" sausage and Giardiniera pie. The thin crust had the crunch I was looking for, it was present even on the sacred inside pieces. The sauce was lacking, the cheese had decent flavor and was nice and stringy as pie should be fresh out of the oven. The sausage was tasty, not at all greasy, could used a little more fennel, but that's a personal thing. The Giardiniera stole the show, crispy and brought the perfect amount of heat. Great prep chef, I'd happily get it again! In conclusion I'd say job well done crew, I see a bright future for this establishment, welcome to the scene

Yelp
Their lack of pizza experience shows, ovens aren't cleaned properly which causes thick white smoke to be baked into every pizza making it taste like ash. Man I miss Johns

Yelp
Really unfortunate that the food just wasn't good. I am a tavern style pizza lover, but this was the worst we've had in Chicago. Food - 1 star - I ordered the regular pepperoni and hot honey. The crust is close in theory, but ends up chewy, almost have to tear as you bite it. Not nearly enough sauce and overcooked, pepperoni is way to chewy. We also got 2 gluten free pizzas for my wife and daughter and to take leftovers, my wife's sausage and onion litterally took me back to childhood with the little tostino pizzas you got in the frozen section for 1.99, again not enough sauce, sausage is crumbly, I can't tell you if their sauce is good or not, doesn't really come through in the flavor profile. Gluten free crust just OK. Daughters pizza came out so spicy we couldn't eat it, I think they got heavy handed on the peppers or something? We can handle reasonably spicy food, so maybe this was a one off, but no way this was in the typical "spicy" range for most people. Also ordered garlic wings. Cool part is they are breaded in cornmeal so gluten free, but need to cook longer, the breading isnt crispy, ends up mushy. Little Gem Salad was pretty blah too, had high hopes from description, but just barely any flavor other than the anchovy. Upside is awesome ranch and buffalo sauce. Service - almost 4 stars - great service from our first server who was on top of it and super friendly like we love and have come to expect from our Chicago bar scene staff. She had to switch servers and let us know, then nobody ever came again. It was a good 15 minutes til we went to the front to tell them we wanted the check. Guy that came was nice and took the one pizza off the bill that was too hot. Didn't finish any of the dishes we ordered and took nothing to go. Atmosphere - 4+ stars - Really liked the place, great vibe that says "I'm in a pizza joint, but still has a bar vibe" would have LOVED the food to work out cause I could easily see myself coming back for this. Perfect background music and chatter level. For me, I don't like places with a "hipster-try hard" vibe, and while our server was good enough that that didn't happen, you can see how it could in the wrong night - a lot of the "pass by and don't look over" vibes from much of the staff. it's the little things in service that make the difference. Overall - I can walk to 3-5 bars in west town from here with a tavern pizza on their menu that will outperform this pizza, wings and salad hands down. The food looks visually amazing, then your left hanging when you eat it. Hope this improves. I may stop in for a beer and tots to check it out again one day when I'm not looking for good pizza.

Yelp
Ordered 5 pizzas, including gluten free for someone in our group who has Celiac (an autoimmune disease). None of the pizzas were marked and the diameters of the pizza are inconsistent, so no clear way to tell which ones were gluten free or not. When I called the restaurant and I informed them this was a serious allergy, they told me to guess which one was gluten free based on how it looked. And then offered a $10 discount on a future pizza rather than trying to fix it. They clearly are not taking food allergies seriously, so I would avoid.

Yelp
Amazing plain cheese pizza. Nice and thin and crisp. Great new spot to the neighborhood. Now I don't have to travel to get proper tavern style.

Cole M.

Yelp
Pizza was amazing. Classic tavern stlye and was amazing. Sat at the bar, had a $4 beer and some killer pizza, it doesn't get much better than that. I put this pretty high on my Chicago tavern style pizza list, and can't wait to go back! Service was great too and food came out quick!

Yelp
Picked up. Menu has the old school vibe that is always appreciated. Like the various options of drinks both fun, local, plus some cheap cans and drafts. Great thin crust pizza. Crust is both crisp and chewy and cheese has very good flavor. The inside and patio of the refurbished Parson's could use some more love but they just opened.

Yelp
Hands down the worst pizza I have had in recent memory. We ordered the pepperoni pizza with hot honey, the parm tater tots, and a greek salad. The tots and salad were pretty good - salad was big and had a lot of toppings. When the pizza came out, it looked awful and I considered sending it back. I should have! It was so incredibly greasy and had an inedible amount of pepperoni. Never thought I would complain about too much pepperoni, but it was so much we all picked some off. Really really disappointing pizza, no way I would waste a meal on this again.

Yelp
Ordered the large hot honey pepperoni to-go for the family. Highly disappointed, as the pizza was over-cooked, dry and very salty. Do yourself a favor and go to the grocery store, buy yourself a $5 Jack's pizza, put some Tabasco sauce on it and enjoy! This would have been just as good as the pizza we got from Dicey's, and it would have been much cheaper than the $24 we paid. Obviously, would not recommend.

Yelp
The food is great and the service is good but the hostess and the people at the front desk are by far the worst I've ever experienced at a restaurant. I've been here four times and have had a horrible experience every time I walk into the restaurant. It literally feels like they don't want you there, I really want to love this place but it's the least welcoming restaurant I've ever been to.

Claire H.

Yelp
I love dicey's!! the best gluten free crust in chicago!!!! perfect location in west town/ukrainian village. casual vibes... incredible ambiance, just cute and comfortable with a classic pizza place feel. the service was phenomenal. staff was welcoming, friendly and attentive. went during the first week of opening and felt like I was being treated as a regular. cannot wait to go back!!

Maizy D.

Yelp
I just ordered and had four pieces of their cheese and sausage pizza. This is one of the worst pizza in Chicago . I love pizza and try every pizza place in the city. First, why do pizza places add cornmeal to the crust? It does'nt enhance the slice and makes it messy. The over crumbled, over peppery sausage was a big disappointment. Lack of pizza sauce. Too thin and they also tried to mimic Pequods with burning the edges and that never works in general with a thick style pizza and fails a thousand times worse in a super thin crust pizza. Lastly, tone down your salt content! It's too much. However, the place looks great, vintage and friendly.

Charlie W.

Yelp
Giardiniera dip was great but small in size for the price. We had the peppy boy and it was amazing. Where this place really looses the 5th star is there are no TVs for football or sports and the beer could have been colder. Definitely will order this again for take out.

Yelp
Such a letdown Wanted so badly to find a new go to spot in the neighborhood. Service at the bar was super slow and bartenders seemed to pay more attention to prepping/batching/cleaning up behind the bar than guests. Sat for 7-8 minutes without being asked if I wanted a drink and the bar was half empty. Food wasn't much better. Greek chopped salad was pretty standard, although it wasn't chopped - red peppers cut unevenly in long strips and had clearly been sitting as it was pretty soggy. Giardiniera dip was a tiny portion and insanely salty. Pizza was laughable. Sort of resembled a circle? Outer crust burnt and everything beyond that was limp and wet. Best thing about the experience was that pbr's were only $3... The bartender was actually really sweet and seemed well intentioned - just untrained and scattered. Either way, the auto selected 23% gratuity presented on the tablet at the end of the meal gave me a nice little chuckle before taking off.

Jennifer L.

Yelp
Whatever you do don't order take out here! Took an extra 40 minutes then estimated. Also the staff is very rude! Won't be coming back! Also pizza was awful, had burnt char on the bottom, couldn't even eat it.

Matthew P.

Yelp
Best service! Best food! Everyone was having a good time. Cozy friendly with great drink prices!

Jessica B.

Yelp
This is a great neighborhood spot. The gluten free pizza was great! The service was great!

Peter W.

Yelp
Love Dicey's tavern style pizzas-- great place for friends, family. Friendly staff and just a good joint.

Aaron S.

Yelp
Perhaps it's Toast Tab but regardless Dicey's carry out service stinks. If you drop the ball just be straight with people instead having them waiting around for a half-hour.

Grace B.

Yelp
Great pizza! Nice thin crust and well seasoned sausage. My family and I also really enjoyed the sauce on the buffalo wings. We started with the garlic bread and the buttery dipping sauce. Our waitress, Riley, was friendly and attentive. It has a cute patio and the interior has a fun retro feel with pinball machines. We'll be back.
