Yelp
I wasn't a big fan of Mexican food, but this is one of the restaurants in Santa Fe that changed my mind. The waiter was incredibly friendly and highly recommended their stuffed sopaipilla, one of their most popular dishes. I was skeptical but was blown away by its amazing taste, especially the spiciness. Trust me, you'll love it too! I also ordered the pistachio latte, which was equally delicious. I visited the restaurant on a Friday afternoon, and it was not too crowded. There were plenty of indoor and outdoor seats for your choice.

Yelp
We had a most delicious brunch here a month or so ago. We were there for brunch on a 3-day weekend Sunday, and despite the town and restaurants being super busy, we didn't have to wait long for a table. The food was absolutely delicious, the restaurant is warm and cute, and the service was quick and friendly. We had a couple of bloody Mary's and a couple of house-made chile rellenos, one with green sauce and one with red. Everything was delicious. I wish we lived closer! I hope to be back someday soon.

Yelp
First time at The Pantry Rio. We did not have a reservation on a Sunday at noon but were seated immediately. The staff were very friendly, order taken quickly, and food came out in about ten minutes. They have a large outdoor seating area with indoor seating as well. My steak rancheros were delicious with green chili and perfect over easy eggs. We also enjoyed the impossible burger fajitas and beef burrito. The green and red chili had fantastic flavor and were not overly spicy. Our server was very attentive and refilled drinks quickly. We would eat here again in a heartbeat with very reasonable prices for the historic area of beautiful Sante Fe. Give it a try when you are in town.

Yelp
See mall home town breakfast pantry with traditional Mexican dishes. Very nicely decorated with local art and decor. Service was friendly and quick, lots of locals here this morning, fun to hear the banter. We both did eggs over easy with an English muffin, she had turkey sausage and grits, I had bacon and very tasty roasted baby potatoes. Can't go wrong here!

Yelp
stopped in for lunch. A bowl of green chili stew and a club sandwich. Both very very tasty. We always return and will always recommend.

Yelp
We stopped by around brunch time and it was busy. We had about a 20 min wait, but we had our done, so we needed a patio seat. Service and food was great. My girlfriend enjoyed the nanchos and my green chilie cheese burger. My burger tasted like any other burger I could anywhere else, but it wasn't bad, just your typical burger. We had a good time here because food was good, sat outside in the shade, and we had our pup chilling with us as well.

Yelp
The Pantry--- always great food! Big portions, you could make 2 meals from one order you take to go. I enjoy their Reuben Sandwichand their meatloaf plate.

Yelp
My husband, friend and I had the most amazing breakfast at The Pantry Rio! We were seated quickly on the patio, which was beautiful and so colorful. Our food came out very quickly and tasted delicious. All of us loved our food! The Sonora omelette was huge and had plenty of perfectly ripe avocado. There was plenty of all of the sides. I had a few bites of my husband's chilaquiles, which were just amazing, too. We also shared the house made cinnamon roll. It was gooey in the middle and crispy on the outside - sooooo good. Prices were very fair and service was great as well. We have no complaints and had the exact experience we were hoping for! I'd recommend this place to anyone.

Yelp
Decided to try this place while in downtown Santa Fe after seeing reviews. There is really no parking. If you're lucky you might get one of the few street parking spots otherwise you'll have to go to a public parking lot. We were seated quickly and a server came to get our drink order. He couldn't understand me when I asked if Coke was a fountain drink or a can and he just walked off. A short while later another server came and helped I ordered the 3 crispy tacos with beans and rice. I got two chicken and one beef. The wife got the chicken quesadilla. I'll start by saying they do not skimp on the meat in either the tacos or quesadillas. That being said it's not very flavorful. After my first bite what literally came to my mind was this is a good Taco Bell taco. And that's what it was. The beef might not have even been as good. The rice was decent but the beans not so much. The quesadilla was also just ok. All in all I wouldn't go back.

Yelp
The food is so good, I came back the following morning! The first morning I sat inside, the second outside. The only thing about outside is that there's no fly fans or anything to keep the bugs away, so that's only only downfall. The service is friendly and they work well together. Both mornings I had the traditional breakfast with veggie sausage. The only thing I wasn't a huge fan of was the veggie sausage tasted too meaty for me. I like how they offer bottomless coffee and that the music is lovely without being too loud to talk to anyone. If I come back to Santa Fe, I'll be coming back here!
google avatar

Sandra W.

Yelp
Once I entered the restaurant, I was immediately greeted and seated. I loved the music they were playing, and the servers were very friendly. I went there for early dinner and was really happy with my meal. I ordered the chicken tacos. Three came with my meal, but I was only able to eat two .Highly recommend. The shells were crunchy. The chicken was shredded and there were a lot of toppings included. Whoever made the beans did a fantastic job. The beans were delicious!!! I could've just eaten the beans. There is indoor and outdoor seating.

Yelp
We had a great experience at The Pantry Rio. We stopped in for breakfast before departing Santa Fe. We were seated immediately amongst many open tables outside. Service was prompt. They have a bunch of NM classics and it was hard to choose. I was tempted to get like the huevos rancheros or chille rellenos but I wanted something I couldn't get after leaving the state and went with the blue corn pancakes. They have an option of veggie sausage as a side so I threw that in along with a sopaipilla. GF ordered the chilaquiles with a side of hash browns. All of the food was delicious. The chilaquiles, which I did quite the job assisting in its consumption, were incredible. The potatoes were so crispy and so flavorful. I kept eating it even after I was uncomfortably stuffed because I COULDN'T STOP. The blue corn pancakes were interesting and it was cool to try something totally new but they were a little disappointing. I prefer pancakes to be more smooth and fluffy and these were grainy and not as flavorful as I would have liked. I'm still glad that I was able to try them. I do wish that the tables were solid because the syrup slipped through the holes and went on my pants and shoes which was very annoying later on and much later on when I had to pull the shoes apart after they were in my suitcase lol. The sopaipilla was pure heaven. It was much bigger than other sopaipillas I had during the trip. the food was great, for the most part, and the service was also very attentive. I would highly recommend this place.

Yelp
We found this by accident when our original choice was too busy and we turned to Yelp for another choice. This is out of the way and we thought it a hidden gem. Choice of indoor or outdoor seating and since the weather was beautiful we chose outdoor. Service was prompt and all the service staff were very cordial and helpful. When we asked to split our bill they were very accommodating. I chose the chili rellenos and my friend had the brisket tacos. Tons of food and so good. We could hardly make a dent but enjoyed every bite. They are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Yelp
Santa Fe, I will say you have outdone yourself with the food. I loved the service and the vibe of this place, the wait staff and bartenders were all working together to get orders in and food out fast. We sat in the inside bar as we saw there were many people waiting in line to have a seat. There is both indoor and outdoor bar and patio for seating. I had Christmas chilaquiles and a Bloody Mary which were both very good. Also, ate some of the cinnamon roll and that was chefs kiss. I definitely recommend this place!

Yelp
So many great reviews we decided to have lunch here. We had a great waiter! That's the only good thing I can say we ordered chicken stuffed sopapillas. It never occurred to us to ask if they were crisp! They were so doughy as to be inedible. I can't understand why they weren't deep fried and crisp. I sent mine back and ordered an enchilada. That was a plain tortilla filled with chicken. We will never go back.9

Deena S.

Yelp
Decent place to grab lunch if you're spending the day walking around the plaza. I got the turkey sandwich with fries -very filling as they don't skimp on the turkey or avocado. The watermelon margarita was tasty but not as strong as some of the other margs I've had here. Have indoor and outdoor seating. The tables outside have sizable umbrellas if you want to enjoy outside but not be cooked.
google avatar

Shannon M.

Yelp
My mom and I went here for dinner one night solely based on location (it was close to our hotel) but the food was very tasty! They have a variety of New Mexicans offerings as well as breakfast and lunch. She got the "Christmas enchiladas" with red and green Chile sauces, and I got the daily soup special of cream of potato with green Chile and a sopaipilla, since I had had a big lunch. Yum! The soup was not as thick as baked potato soup but still chunky with potatoes and had the zing of the chilies. And I loved the fluffy sopaipilla with just a bit of honey. The perfect light meal. Staff was nice and the vibe was laid back. The only odd choice here was the industrial gray paint on the walls: something a bit warmer would make it much cheerier, because this gave off a rather institutional feeling. Still, a good choice for New Mexico staples not far from the Railyard and Plaza.

Yelp
Great place for a sandwich and drinks on a hot day. We had the BLT&G, Pantry Club and a chicken sandwhich. All were great. The fries are killer as well. Good service and nice ambiance. Highly recommend.
google avatar

Stacy S.

Yelp
One of my favorite meals during our trip. We had less than a five minute wait for a table, which was lucky. Service was great - several staff helped us, and each person was so nice and welcoming. Breakfast was delicious. I had a burrito, Christmas style. He had an omelet, which he never orders, and he loved it.

Yelp
Came here to say for dinner 6/11and wasn't disappointed for a restaurant that's been here since 1948 its still a meeting place for good food! The service is great and friendly! The inside is aged but thats what it's all about, you feel at home!

Yelp
- great service - hearty portions - I liked the enclosed outdoor seating - good brisket - good braised pork - colorful environment

Yelp
Love the patio and all the colors. Server was very friendly and welcoming. I stopped here after an exhausting day of travel. He recommended salmon tacos and I went for it. Salmon was cooked well although could use more of a sear. It much flavor or seasoning. Even the sauce was pretty blah. Can't say im impressed. Loved the Mexican rice though. Salsa was super spicy for me, but im a lightweight. I read better reviews about their breakfast. But I don't think I would come to try any more food here. If you're not a picky foodie though, this place is not bad.

Yelp
Pick carefully because there are quite a few Pantrys. Pantry OG, Pantry Rio, Pantry Dos, Pantry Special Victims Unit, etc. The service was incredible, friendly, and attentive. The wife enjoyed her Buenos Dias, which was a plate of pantry fries topped with chile, cheese, and two eggs. I loved my cheesy BYO omelette and pantry fries. We also got a Stuffed French Toast to share: Corn-flake coated, stuffed with cream cheese, blueberries and (a few) strawberries. We left half of our food behind, which never happens. Seriously. If I was on the Truman Show people would have assumed I was sick or dying.

Yelp
Excellent food!!! Really enjoyed the chilaquiles with chorizo. Service was very good as well.
google avatar

Horecee S.

Yelp
Pretty decent food and good service. I had the chilaquiles with chorizo- very tasty, great portion and so flavorful. We also had the blue corn pancakes ( a miss, super bland) and the cinnamon roll which looked fantastic but just was normal cinnamon sweet treat not a must have. The unexpected hit was the Mexican mocha- so dang good!!!
google avatar

Yelp
Im not a food photographer so please don't let the photo dissuade you. The carne adovada is amazing. Tender, flavorful, with chiles and spices you can enjoy; unlike other places, the spices compliment and heighten the flavor experience rather than compete. Highly recommend this dish at Pantry Rio

Yelp
One of my new favorite Santa Fe brunch spots! The burrito was huge and delicious. I added sausage to mine and it was perfect. We just walked right in and they seated us immediately. The only drawback is there were some flies inside the restaurant, however the doors were open so I think that's why.
google avatar

Troy S.

Yelp
We put our name in for a party of 3 and were told it was a 25 minute wait. An hour later we were seated after other tables were seated immediately as walk ups. After being seated we ordered drinks and an appetizer. The drinks came maybe 25 minutes later and we ordered food. The food arrived 30 minutes later and one other drink we ordered never showed up. I had to order other drinks at the bar and they made the drinks immediately. The food was mediocre (combination plate and breakfast burrito. All said and done we wasted 2.5 hours for bland food. We wasted the better part of our afternoon at this place where we could have been doing other things after driving 6 hours to visit Santa Fe. Thank you Pantry for your lack of attention and ruining our afternoon.

Yelp
5 stars across the board. The food was great, the staff were all incredibly friendly and constantly checking on things. The food came out fast and everything was very reasonably priced. Easily one of the best meals we had in Santa Fe. If anyone asked for a recommendation this was the first place we'd suggest. All of the staff were incredibly friendly, & the food was great. Seating inside was a bit limited but it works. Give this place a try if you're in the area.

Yelp
A great breakfast spot. Good service, tasty food. We did some breakfast/brunch sleuthing on Yelp the night before as we were going to bed. We wanted somewhere near the Plaza so we could be tourists around that area after we ate. Pantry Rio fit the bill, AND had great reviews to boot! We arrived to the downtown plaza(ish) area fairly early, found and paid for street parking and walked over to Pantry Rio. It seemed super quiet but it was too cold for outdoor patio use, and once we got inside there was a calm buzz about the place. We were seated right away and got to perusing the menu. I ordered a specialty latte which was delicious! My guy got some blue corn pancakes which he liked and I know are generally lovely! I got a savory option of breakfast enchilada type things. The potatoes on the side were tasty, and the main dish was super filling and tasty. The serving sizes here will not leave you unsatisfied! The only thing I didn't find great was the sauce that came with my dish, which was an unexpected texture that just wasn't for me. Service was alright, but I am sure our whole experience was helped by it being a weekday morning in a not terribly tourist-heavy season. We enjoyed our visit to this nice little diner and I would certainly think to recommend it to friends visiting the area. I wish I could return sometime in milder weather to enjoy a coffee on the patio!

Yelp
Rustic, great menu, casual ambiance. Anything from sandwiches to classic New Mexican cuisine
google avatar

Steve K.

Yelp
This quaint little place in old town Santa Fe New Mexico, was a super clean and very friendly staff lemony walked in the door. Menu is pretty extensive for breakfast, and as you can see from the photo below, I had the huevos rancheros. Everything was delicious Both of the hot sauces were fantastic and fresh. The red was smoky. The green was warm towards hot, but still super flavorful. Their potatoes were covered in something I can't quite put my finger on it but was freaking delicious. Coffee was great and I definitely will come back when I'm in Santa Fe. If you're visiting Santa Fe, New Mexico, definitely a must stop for breakfast in the morning .

Yelp
Excellent breakfast! I had the chilaquiles, add chorizo, with red and green sauce. Nothing at all negative to say here. Tortillas were a perfect blend of crisp and saturated with sauce, eggs perfectly cooked, sauces both were tasty (green is/was my favorite always!), beans were so good, and even the side potatoes, which I rarely eat, were perfectly done. Definitely could not finish more than half of it since portions are large. The coffee was excellent as well. And as a solo, frequent traveler (who loves food) I especially appreciated the service. Sometimes it can feel a little awkward or inconvenient to be a solo diner in a sit-down restaurant (I tend to go for a bar seat when available to not take up an entire table). The staff was very friendly and attentive and made me feel very comfortable but also gave me space to enjoy my meal.

Yelp
Good service. Good food. Great atmosphere. Had home fries, eggs, with red chili with fresh floor tortillas.
google avatar

Jenaveve G.

Yelp
I love the location of Pantry Rio of all the restaurants in Santa Fe because the patio is open and shady. The food is good, the service is friendly, and the atmosphere is casual. Great place to go for breakfast or lunch. (I haven't had dinner there yet.)

Yelp
Service was great. All the staff was very friendly The restaurant is in a great location, parking is a hassle but a parking garage was nearby and everything is walking distance. The food was good but it wasnt great. I got the chilaquiles (which were covered in onions) and french toast(average) it was good but not something I would order again.
google avatar

Sara Z.

Yelp
This is a great spot for classic New Mexican dishes but the drink prices are steep, especially compared to restaurants not on the square. It was a perfect spring evening and we sat outside. I ordered a prickly pear margarita, and my parents and I shared nachos that were absolutely delicious and a huge portion. I also wanted to try carne adovada while in Santa Fe, so I ordered that. It was a gigantic portion, but really tasty and on the spicer side. It came with tortillas and rice and beans, but I could not finish it unfortunately. The service was great and very fast. The outside seating is lovely and very colorful, but inside looked a little blah. Sit outside if the weather allows!
google avatar

Joe B.

Yelp
We had the blue corn pancakes huevos rancheros. Both were really good and we'd get them again. The texture of the blue corn pancakes was the winner! Loved them! The server was also super nice!
google avatar

Kayla W.

Yelp
By far my favorite breakfast spot in Santa Fe! I absolutely love this place. It's very central to the Plaza, has indoor and outdoor seating, and is always really fast and delicious. I love sitting outside, especially on nice fall mornings, so that's what we did today. A server brought us coffee right away, and our waiter was very attentive and available the whole time. I ordered the chile relleno omelet, my boyfriend ordered the chilaquiles, and we both added carne adovada. I love the green Chile sauce here, it has a perfect amount of flavor to heat and I scarfed my whole plate down! Both of us really enjoyed our food and I will continue to come here when I'm in Santa Fe! :)
google avatar

Bonnie G.

Yelp
Wanted to try blue-corn pancakes while I was out here and got those and the enchiladas. Both were pretty unmemorable, either too dry or too saucy. Those poor pancakes needed to be doused in syrup, and even so, I didn't want anymore after four bites. Also, they don't actually make their own cinnamon roll here. I know a lot of reviews say how good it is, but it is brought from somewhere else and baked in the shop, so passed on it. Tons of outdoor seating and lights and plants and even TVs by the bar, so it's a good place to chill at if need be.
google avatar

Richard W.

Yelp
Fantastic all-day menu that includes breakfast, beer and wine, The Pantry was recommended by a friend here in Santa Fe and was perfect for breakfast and lunch (did not dinner here). Don't pass up the patio, great ambiance in between the mufflers!
google avatar

Taylor E.

Yelp
I very much enjoyed the huevos and pistachio latte, the bf wasn't a big fan of the corned beef though! Would stop again on the way through Santa Fe!
google avatar

Yelp
Great food in the heart of downtown. Fast service in a small space, get there early or wait until the breakfast rush is over.
google avatar

Linda K.

Yelp
We wanted a light casual dinner for our first night in SF. Lovely table outside in the shade. I loved my nopales quesadilla and my husband raved about the chile verde stew. It was very spicy (for me) but delicious. Our food made the first night memorable. Also quite reasonably priced.
google avatar

Barbara P.

Yelp
We stopped here for a late lunch because it was close to our hotel and had a great relaxing lunch on their patio. The patio is very comfortable with brightly colored chairs and umbrellas to shade you from the sun. The service is friendly and attentive. Prices, like in most of Santa Fe are very reasonable (compared to the California prices we're used to). I had a house margarita and my husband had an IPA. One thing I've noticed in the Santa Fe area is the drinks -- no matter where you go -- are almost guaranteed to be weak and this was no exception but it was still a refreshing glass of limeade with a salty rim. I had a Frito pie which is basically a bowl of ground beef and other taco fixings layered on a bed of Fritos. I got it Christmas style (with both red and green chili sauce) so it had a little kick to it. My husband got a stuffed sopaipilla, with ground beef, also Christmas style and he liked that a lot. It came with rice and beans. The rice had corn in it which was a nice touch. Both our entrees seemed a little light on the chili sauce (compared to say, Tomasita's where they were generous with the sauce). So if that's important t to you, you might ask for extra sauce. We enjoyed our lunch here a lot and would definitely come back if we were in town again.
google avatar

Kevin N.

Yelp
Flavorless food for the most part. Red and green chile needed salt. Avocado toast was just guacamole spread on bread. Chile relleno omelette was mostly flavorless. Service was nice and patio was fantastic.
google avatar

Lior D.

Yelp
AMAZING Breakfast! Was visiting Santa Fe and was craving some Chilaquiles. Was so happy to see that The Pantry Rio serves them, and let me tell you... WOW! Not only were the chilaquiles excellent but all components on the plate were spot on with flavor! The beans, the potatoes, the amazing chile (Both red and green - Christmas style!) Cant wait to be back at Santa Fe to eat there again!! Thank you for making delicious food!

Quennie R.

Yelp
Great food! If you are looking for authentic New Mexican cuisine, you shoul go here, it will not disappoint!
google avatar

Truman W.

Yelp
The chile relleno was no bueno - too and dry and tough - but the avocado toast and steak burrito were excellent, even better with the New Mexican green chile sauce (my new favorite condiment!) Good luck finding street parking even on a weekday.
