Yelp
CDM was fantastic! The style is super pretty! The staff is attentive and very friendly. We didn't have to wait for drinks, appetizers or our food to come out. Our drinks never ran low. We all enjoyed our main course, everything was beautifully plated, and the food was just as good as the presentation. We arrived for an early sit down with a reservation. We preferred indoor seating versus the patio on an odd evening it was cooler out for a summer night. But if you wanted the patio it is just as beautiful as the inside. Enjoy the beautiful ambiance and the great service.

Yelp
many good things here... the cocktails were strong, the martini olives hand-stuffed, burgers were decent. Seriously, I've paid $25 for martinis that were not as good as these at $16 A standout was Emma, our server... patient and friendly and on it. The low points? $12 for the "parker house rolls" was a little steep... doesn't anyone just bring over a few slices of bread for free anymore? (They were good rolls though!) And the cioppino... that's one sad excuse for a cioppino. They cram it with bread and pasta (pasta in cioppino?) because pasta and bread are inexpensive... what was left was some small morsels of fish, the skeleton of sort of crustacean with about one small forkful of meat in it and the most flavor-free cioppino stock/base I've ever tasted. The clams were kind of pathetic, too. I mean, for $45, why not be proud of your fish stew and get some PROTEIN in that baby! But, again, Emma and her support crew were aces.

Yelp
I have a couple things to say. I came in on Monday night for dinner and the service was great, but honestly, the food was subpar. Now it's an expensive restaurant and so for the price point I was a little surprised at the quality. It was a pretty busy night too! Our party ordered a bunch of food and the ones that stood out to me the most was the octopus and cacio e pepe pasta! So good! Oh and the spinach gnocchi! The texture taste was everything on those three items! I would come back just and only for these items Our cioppino was so bland it tasted like water broth, we had to send it back... the halibut was extremely dry and the filet was good but nothing spectacular. Spicy yellowtail was also very good! Service was great our server ruby was sweet, her assistant always cleaned our table and she would reset our silverware between each course. We ended with expresso martinis and the corn Madeline's which was a great touch! Sweet and tasty. Overall was a good experience but not sure if I would be back anytime soon.

Yelp
Went here before we went to see the lights at Sherman Library and this place was so fancy and gorgeous. Parking was bad though, you had to look for it. We sat at the bar and literally only ordered the side dishes because everything was pricey and just too fancy for us. But the sides were yummy, i loved the brussel sprouts and the broccolini. The sides were big too, perfect for sharing and there was 3 of us. I wish there were better entree options too but nothing really caught my eye.

Yelp
Would give 6 stars if I could! Brandon who is the bartender at under CDM is truly an artist (and a dope person, to chat with.. some insane knowledge about drinks) You can tell the creativity & passion he puts into every drink and making your visit personable. He's the reason we visit CDM restaurant! Can't recommend him enough. Thanks for a great visit from Brielle & Cassie :)

Yelp
Not impressed at all. The food was overpriced and over salted, I asked for a drink repeatedly and was never brought to me, I even asked for two drinks when I was actually acknowledged and was denied. I wish I would have been more assertive and reminded her that I've asked repeatedly for the drinks. The only reason I gave it two stars is because the girl I brought liked it but of course she didn't have to pay for it sooooooo ‍

Yelp
Food was incredible here: we got 3 appetizers (including the carrots, which came highly recommended) and a pasta and pizza (so light on crust and heavy on flavors). Wow, wow, wow. The service was a 10/10, from the minute we walked in to when we left! Everyone was so welcoming and kind. Shoutout to Sam R, our server. She was informative and warm, and she made my fiances birthday dinner SO GOOD. He was BEAMING (possibly part of his 3 drinks he got- all were amazing. He even said, "How did they DO that?" To the old fashioned ice cube. Ambiance is intimate and classy. Next time: we want to check out the speakeasy! We got super lucky with street parking (probably thanks to our 5:00 reservations), but they do have valet!! Thanks, Sam R for everything

Yelp
Myself and my Fiancé had a fantastic dining experience at CDM, largely thanks to our server, Abigail. Despite being berated by a rude guest, she handled the situation with incredible professionalism and grace, never letting it affect her service. She was attentive, friendly, and made excellent recommendations throughout the meal. Her positive attitude truly elevated our experience, and my fiancé and I agreed it was one of the best dining experiences we've had in a long time. Abigail went above and beyond, and we'll definitely be returning! Highly recommend both her and the restaurant!

Yelp
Delicious food, excellent service, lovely ambiance. A local favorite. The carrots are a must try!

Yelp
My friends and I came here for dinner at 8:30pm (we had a reservation.) We were not seated until 8:55pm which was a bummer since we made the reservation a month in advance and arrived on time. We were super hungry by the time we sat down so we ordered right away. Overall, everyone enjoyed their meals! I got the chicken piccata (same thing I got last time) and once again really needed salt! The bread rolls were more dense then I was hoping and didn't have much flavor. Wouldn't order again. The mac and cheese was SO GOOD this was everyone's favorite part of the meal. No complaints whatsoever about the mac this is a must get! Everyone loved their drinks and had a fun time. The decor is really nice and the service was pretty quick too. Overall I would come back again and everyone ended up having a fun night!

Krystel K.

Yelp
OMG! I took my boyfriend here for his birthday and they helped me print out a menu that made him feel very special. The waitress was very attentive and kind. The food here was amazing as well. I would recommend getting the brocollini! It tasted so good and melts in your mouth, no kidding. Portions were huge even though the pictures do not do it justice. I would definitely take my friends and family here.

Roger S.

Yelp
Great place for some cocktails and drinks! Definitely a must visit if you're in the area!

Yelp
Loved this place and the romantic ambiance! Their pasta was fantastic and their cab sauvignon were also not too shabby. Was able to stop by at this place on a random Saturday evening with no wait. Great place for a date night and they have nice upbeat music playing in the restaurant. Would definitely recommend to others

Melika J.

Yelp
Omg I'm still craving everything I had at CDM! Reminded me of the A. Great staff and food came to the table fast. Came with a reservations and parking was easy to find. Nice vibes, and the cocktails were crafted amazingly.

Moby D.

Yelp
Absolutely love this joint! Food and drinks are very good, and the restaurant atmosphere is beautiful and perfect for date night or just dinner with friends. Great service and layout.

Yelp
Somehow this was our first time dining at CdM and it most definitely will not be our last. Everyone we interacted with was super friendly and nice. The valet attendant is hilarious! Due to making the reservation day of we had to take an outside seating option. We got to see the inside dining area as we checked in with the hostess and will make sure next time to reserve in advance to be inside. Such great ambiance! Very inviting. Our server (unfortunately cannot remember his name) was extremely helpful with the menu. We started with the strawberry beet salad that was fresh and delicious. The vibe check is my favorite cocktail from this restaurant group. It is so light and not too sweet. Simply perfection! I was torn between chicken piccata and cacio e pepe and he suggested I get the pasta as the side for the chicken piccata. What a great idea! I honestly couldn't decide which was my favorite. Both are amazingly flavored dishes. The tomato salad it comes with is such a fresh addition as well. My husband got the skirt steak charred medium rare and it arrived perfectly cooked to his picky expectations. He was beyond happy! Apparently the chef was cooking the steaks so we hope it is as good next time. The mac and cheese is also super cheesy with a nice smoky flavor. We were too full for dessert but will make sure to make room next time. I must try the strawberry rhubarb tart. Thank you CdM for providing the perfect date night. We will be back!

Yelp
The cozy seating was a plus on our visit in the rain. The host stand was a bit chatty amongst themselves as we walked up, I felt we were interrupting their gossiping. We shared the charcutier board, which was very good. Our server, Ruby, knew her stuff too, which is a plus. The Cioppino was incredible, lots of seafood & not skimpy per my wife. The broth was full of flavor I loved my filet, cooked perfectly paired with the best sides. Parking is a bit tricky on the streets of CDM, so plan accordingly.

Yelp
From start to finish, our dining experience at CMD was nothing short of spectacular. The evening began on a high note with their signature bread and butter--both exceptional and a delightful prelude to the meal. To kick things off, we ordered an old-fashioned cocktail, and it was amazing. Perfectly balanced and rich in flavor, it set the tone for what was to come. For appetizers, we chose the cauliflower hummus. The smooth, creamy texture combined with the subtle flavors of cauliflower made for a unique and enjoyable starter. The main highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the Chicken Piccata. Cooked to perfection, the chicken was tender and juicy, with a sauce that was both tangy and savory, enhancing the overall dish beautifully. In summary, CMD impressed us with its exceptional offerings and attentive service. If you're looking for a memorable dining experience, this place should be at the top of your list. For the ambience and music, coincidentally they were playing Rufus du sol which is a band that's known for pleasant music.

Yelp
tldr: Great ambiance, gatsby vibes, the perfect date spot. Upscale new American feel and food. The food is ok but nothing to write home about. Food $17 Spicy Yellowfin Tuna - Tasty. The tempura eggplant chips make this standout $12 - Parker House Rolls - Brown rolls are always a hit $15 - Mac n Cheese - Good quality but rather boring honestly $49 - Akaushi Skirt Steak - Edible but a bit tough for med rare. At this price point and venue, I expected more. I wish I got the ribeye. But the sides are good. Drinks $17 - Little Piggy Old Fashioned - Clean, predictable $17 - Gin Blossom - Light, refreshing Half off wine glasses on Weds Overall there's little to regret at CdM. A lovely evening in South Orange County but there's little that sets CdM apart from its neighbors in the same category. Would I Return Rating Not likely. I've mostly forgotten all about it. For a similar vibe and price, I prefer Fable & Spirit in Newport Beach.

Yelp
This place is great! The staff is friendly and attentive! The food is wonderful! The Dirty Pasta is delicious! The dimly lit restaurant has a nice bar in the center and plenty of seating around , as well as an outdoor area. The patrons are friendly as well. I will definitely go back!

Yelp
this is specifically for under CDM speakeasy. we came out for our friend's birthday and honestly at first glance i wasn't feeling the vibe because i was trying to turn up lol. also before coming here i tried looking up reviews and stuff about it but couldn't really find anything so we had no idea what to expect. but it ended up being such a great time and we can't wait to come back. we were seated and greeted by Brandon informing us that the entire drink menu was curated by him, and that he can make whatever drink we want outside of it. i barely took photos of the drinks which i regret because we just having a good time. i got the gin & toast which was really good. i got a whiff of the toast every time i took a sip which was a cool concept. we also tried a coconut mojito and barnum cocktail which were both amazing! to top it all off, there's a free photobooth with unlimited pics! we def took advantage of it and had so much fun. they post the strips on the ceiling if you wanna leave one with them. we got lucky, apparently this speakeasy is usually booked with private events. it's a small area but definitely gave off the textbook speakeasy vibe-- dark, small, intimate. big shoutout to Brandon for making our night/our friend's bday memorable! he is incredibly knowledgeable about alcohol/mixed drinks so we learned a lot. the drinks here are so intricate and made intentionally. we like drinking, but are not Connoisseurs by any means so it was a great experience.

Philip T.

Yelp
Nice modern, intimate restaurant; menu is similar to other A restaurants. Very good food. Great service. An enjoyable time was had by all...

Mira Y.

Yelp
First time. Weekday date night. Ordered salad and pizza. Half of Wine on Wednesday! That was a special surprise.

Henri P.

Yelp
The food was delicious! I don't eat meat and they were very accommodating. They put the meat on the side for my friends to enjoy. Our server, Ryan, was excellent. I haven't seen my friends in a while so we were catching up and we were taking so long to order, but he was very patient! I'd highly recommend the charred octopus, spicy yellowfin tuna, cdm fancy pizza, and cauliflower hummus! I also really enjoyed my drink, blood orange sour. I'd come back here!

Yelp
This location is a famous address in Corona Del Mar, as it used to be the location of the one restaurant that John Wayne owned. I often hung out here during a previous incarnation as the Crow Bar. The current owners, (A Restaurant/River Jetty Group) did an amazing job with the remodel. There are luxurious "outdoor" tables, with lots of plants and great lighting, and an interior centered around a bar. The interior tables are dark leather chairs and booths, with dark wood tables. There is also a speakeasy downstairs, with a tiny bar and gorgeous red leather old-school-looking booths and decor. That room can be rented out for group dinners or events. The bartenders are very skilled here and proud of what they do. They have a variety of types of alcohol, bitters, fresh citrus and herbs, and salt/sugars for the rims of drinks. Be sure to check out their ice cubes, custom made with the logo of the restaurant. I would highly recommend this venue and I look forward to coming back to try even more from this delicious menu. Yelp
The restaurant is a nice small restaurant and it makes you feel at home with all the locals that come!! Everyone is nice and the food was awesome. Everyone that works there including the manager was very interactive which was appreciated as people in the industry. The octopus was awesome, we ended up getting two orders. Steak tartar was also good. Chicken piccata was a good tasty light dish. Will be coming back for the speakeasy and some steak!

Joy S.

Yelp
Food taste and presentation were great. The wine selection was good too. The service was as expected considering the were busy

Jen H.

Yelp
Fantastic food, drinks and vibes. We loved the octopus, carrots and burger. All so tasty and perfectly balanced. The espresso martinis were amazing and refreshing! Great service! Everyone was so sweet from hostess, server and helpers. Everything came out quickly! A new favorite!

Susan N.

Yelp
Welcoming and prompt service! The food came out extremely quick. Sometimes, staff could be too eager and take plates away when we are still working on it. They're just being proactive, but it can be disruptive to the meal. It's not a bad thing, but dialing back would be appreciated. Overall, it was a great evening with well-made dishes. Ambiance was lovely. Wednesdays is wine night, which means 50% off wines by the glass and wine bottles! Go on Wednesdays! I will surely come back someday! Valet parking is $7 and it is behind the restaurant.

Sylvia T.

Yelp
I always saw this place every time I went down PCH. So I thought it would be a great idea to go there for Father's Day. Good choice. I made reservations in advance, we had a nice spot in front of the window. Our server Kate was so nice and pleasant. Our water glasses were always full. They had fabulous music in the background so the ambiance was 10+ and the decor was really stylish. All the food tasty and fresh. They have perfect portioned meals too. My Cocktail tail was deliciously made with mezcal. Definitely coming back. If your in the Corona Del Mar area, come check it out. They also have vallet services

Alexa M.

Yelp
Such an intimate setting with amazing food, service, and drinks! Definitely come try if you're in the CDM area

Laura S.

Yelp
Great ambiance, nice location, good service. The Scottish Salmon and A Burger are very good. I enjoyed every bite of the salmon. It was moist and the sides were good. (but I really liked the side of fries that came with the burger so I had to steal a few. A lot actually) On a recent visit I had the chopped salad. It was fine, but even with adding the chicken, it wasn't enough for me and I had to go home and snack.

Kaelani R.

Yelp
The food is delicious, especially the yellowtail tuna on top of the fried eggplant; HIGHLY RECOMMEND! The bartenders always make amazing drinks, especially Paige, and the service is top notch! I love the ambience here, as it is kind of a little hole in the wall and can be hard to miss if you're not looking for the restaurant. Highly recommend for drinks and appetizers!

Joseph Y.

Yelp
My girl and I came here for our anniversary and it's literally the best place to go to if you're visiting California/ local. Food is awesome and the people are amazing. You would literally have the time of your life. Ask for Sarah she is the BEST.

Laura T.

Yelp
Beautiful space including the bathrooms. Very friendly and efficient service. Fried eggplant with yellowfin tuna was terrific. Chicken piccata was breaded and therefore heavier with fat than I prefer. Very strong on capers. The cacio et pepe was also loaded with fat. The Caesar salad had Tabasco in it instead of black pepper which left a weird tingling taste on the tongue. The Cherry tomatoes with the chicken were delicious. The drinks were superlative! Loved the ambiance and our waitress.

MaDonna W.

Yelp
We were so excited to try CDM. We had an early reservation 530 , when we arrived, there was only one other couple sitting in one of the booths. All the tables were open and all the booths were open.. they put us in the tiniest table against the wall that resembled a night stand. Not even fit for one person. So we asked for one of the booths or another table . The girl that sat us went back to the hostess, and they started chatting and whispering like school girls. It was really embarrassing. They said the only thing they had was an outside table that is literally just a canopy over there parking lot . It was hot and so humid without fans or ventilation whatsoever . We asked if we could please have a table inside. They said there are no tables available . We asked could we please sit at the bar ? Again, this time there were three girls whispering at the hostess desk . The reply was "you can sit at the bar until 645" We decided to make the best of it, so we sat down at the bar. ( I felt like Goldilocks and the three Bears , one table was too small. One table was too hot and the bar seem to be just, ok.) thank goodness. We were pleasantly surprised by the graciousness of our bartender . I wish I could remember her name. She was attentive and explained the menu, gave us wonderful suggestions . We started with one of our favorite bottles of Frank family Chardonnay, and the beautifully prepared, charred octopus with sweet tomatoes, chorizo, potatoes, and an aïoli . Perfection! We decided on the salmon with snap peas, tomatoes, and coconut rice ... and we added the barbecued, roasted rainbow carrots. This meal was divine. We decided that this meal made up for the lack of hospitality that we received originally when we came into an almost empty restaurant. There were still empty tables when we left. I will tell you this , if we do come back, it will be for that delicious charred octopus dish. They have valet parking in the back with some of the outside tables. ( we were quite lucky and found a parking spot on the street close to the restaurant) Their corkage fee is $30 and our bartender told us that they only receive service dogs at the table.

Yelp
Family / child to the A Restaurant group is CdM (Corona del Mar) Restaurant located on the PCH between Ruby's Diner and the Panini Kabob eateries. If you go at night be aware of the location in advance OR you might miss the building as it is dark and there is no gawdy sign out.... Street parking available (if you are lucky) and they do offer valet parking ($7 plus tip) Entrance to the restaurant is from either the street side or the parking lot side and the hostess is smack in the center. Make reservations! We had first seating (5:00 pm) and by the time we left the entire restaurant, bar and patio was packed! (and I mean packed) Food is okay and I think price point is spot on. We did try the burger (since it was a signature of their founding father A Restaurant) and it was good. It was huge and I think maybe a bit to big for grilling purposes. We ordered our burger with medium rare cooking. I think griller was rushed because our burger, or parts of it was still refrigerator cool and raw. The dirty pasta is prepared with some ground pork (hence "dirty pasta" because of the color, I am guessing). It was okay. The cincher and savior of the day was the apple tart. I would go back there if only for the apple tart and a sweet dessert wine. Service was excellent. Adult beverages were good I am told. A re do and and new visit for sure!

lucio g.

Yelp
First time coming to this restaurant and Our server was very attentive with getting us our drinks and checking in on us multiple times. Water was getting refilled frequently. We tried the duck pate and it was very good. Server recommended the chicken picatta and it was very delicious. Very tender and flavorful. My partner ordered the cacio e Pepe and he also enjoyed it. We made a last minute reservation so we got a table outside but I'd recommend sitting inside. It was a bit noisy due to cars passing.

Chris S.

Yelp
Went here on a date for a special occasion. Atmosphere (5/5) both inside and outside. Fancy furniture; cool looking bar, all around great. They also have a couple of TVs if you want to catch sports. Drinks (4/5)- small sample size since we only ordered two drinks. The margarita was good but nothing special and I ordered a bourbon drink similar to old fashioned which was also good but not great. Appetizers (5/5)- Parker house rolls, charred octopus and yellowfin tuna were all amazing. The Parker house rolls are warm and fluffy inside and nice and crispy outside served with perfectly soft butter to spread. The charred octopus was tender and complimented perfectly with potatoes and chorizo. The yellowfin tuna is served on top of a fried eggplant which was very unique and complimented the tuna very well. Would order all three again. Entrees (4/5)- butternut squash was on the sweet side which the waiter warned us about so can't complain. We also ordered the dirty pasta which actually didn't live up to the hype. The sauce was lacking flavor and was on the bland side. Pasta in north Italia has better flavored sauce. Would order different entrees next time, probably try the pizza and one of the steak dishes. We found street parking a few blocks away but arrived 4:30pm on a Wednesday. Service was quick, friendly and efficient.

Kristina C.

Yelp
Was searching for a cocktail bar to try and CdM happened to cross my path on yelp! I adore this place, it has an intimate atmosphere and GREAT drinks! ***What I ordered: **Them Apples (1000/10): I ordered two of these drinks and wow they were SUPER strong, but SUPER good. I unfortunately don't remember what was in it, but all I know was that if you want the taste of spice, fall, and a hint of sweetness this is perfect. This drink tasted like juice especially after licking the cinnamon-sugared rim! I highly recommend trying this because I think this is part of their seasonal menu! Overall, Loved the vibes, the staff was super sweet, and the drinks were perfect. I will definitely be coming back here again when I'm in Cali :)!

Jaclyn S.

Yelp
Spent 4 hours at Att. Omg! But... Next door is my favorite restaurant CDM. Got a drink and a great meal with my husband at the bar! Stress removed! Food was excellent as usual! Drink was perfection. Ambiance was romatic and hip. Sam our waitress was a 10 and very social. This is my home away from home!

Angela C.

Yelp
I had high expectations based on pics and reviews and they did not disappoint. The speakeasy style was warm and cozy yet glamorous. we really admired the elegant holiday decorations and love the blue booths. It's a small place so a table near us was having a bday celebration and they were so loud, it was very disruptive to our conversations but what can you do? I got the salmon and it was probably one of the best salmon dishes I've ever had. The skin was cooked so perfectly crispy and the meat was still moist. The creamed corn underneath was a surprisingly delightful complement, it had a mashed potato texture which I really enjoyed. The crunchy haricot verts were perfectly crunchy and the red wine reduction was truly divine, it had a light flavor and didn't overpower the dish. Everything worked so wonderfully together. My friends got the chicken piccata and I didn't try it but they said it was the best they've ever had. Several of us got the apple tart and it was a bit sweet for my taste but you can tell it was fresh and natural with the crust being just the right texture, not too flaky/messy and not hard. We all agreed we would return but probably try sitting in the outside patio instead to avoid distractions from a noisy group. it looked beautiful out there.

Sherry A.

Yelp
Great food, excellent service. We sat at the bar on a Wednesday for dinner. Didn't know that all bottles of wine were 50% off for wine down Wednesday. Needless to say, we enjoyed an amazing bottle of wine along with the 'Dirty pasta' and burger. Highly recommend!

Chad A.

Yelp
CdM Restaurant has the best low-key bar in Orange County (Under CdM). Their bartender Brandon has created some of the best cocktails that rival that of Attaboy, Apotheke, Death & Co, etc. I cannot recommend this spot enough.

Erene A.

Yelp
Went to under CDM the other night. Everything we read said it was very intimate and romantic. It's very small and the tables are so close together that you can hear everyone's conversation. Which was fine, everyone was nice and we were all kind of talking to each other by the end of the night, but we were really looking for something a little more intimate. We ordered a few drinks (I can't remember what the names were, but my fav was the gin one. It's the only gin cocktail they have) and for dinner we initially ordered the octopus to start, but sent it back (which I really hate doing), but it was so fishy and overcooked. And the sausage with it was so chewy. We got the tartare instead which was delicious. We split the Brussels and the chicken piccata for food and that was super yummy too! The staff was really sweet and helpful. Overall, we had a good experience

Taylor H.

Yelp
I just love this restaurant. The food is always great and so is the service -- which really makes or the breaks the experience. Although everywhere in the restaurant is great seating, we always try to sit at the bar because it's our favorite...and speaking of favorites, Nick the bartender is absolutely fantastic. He always makes our experience so great. He's friendly, knowledgeable, quick and sooo good at his trade -- best drinks ever. We got the burger and filet this time around.

Mary B.

Yelp
First time here and had an amazing experience! Perfect date night spot! Celebrated my birthday tonight and couldn't have picked a more perfect spot! Our waiter was Ryan and on my god he literally made our experience! All his recommendations were perfect and so tasty! His energy was so fun! Will definitely come back!

Shahla F.

Yelp
Our waitress was perfect and my drink was really good. unfortunately, my food wasn't good I ordered hamburger and it wasn't really fresh.

Julliette S.

Yelp
I had reservations tonight for my husband's birthday. We did valet - reasonably priced ($7) We got there and our table wasn't ready, but the hostess was apologetic & let us sit in the bar area while we waited for our booth. We had the margarita. Nice and spicy! We finally were seated about 15 min later & they made it up for the wait. We had a cute booth in the corner. Our server Luis was wonderful. We had the ribeye steak - delicious. Asked for medium but it was medium well, but it was ok cause it was great. The mac & cheese was delicious & had a nice spicy kick too. And the spinach gnocchi was a 10/10. The vibe was cute & dim. Definitely speak easy theme. Great experience & fantastic food!
