It took me a moment to consider whether it's worth my time to review this gym given what I experienced. In my book, the gym itself (equipment, set up, classes, etc.) would've provided me with what I need to exercise. The customer service, however, was the biggest decision why I would never go back. ZERO STARS firm!
I got a 30 day pass, yup 3-0, for filling out a marketing survey. I was excited about this because I initially requested a 3 day pass & was rewarded 10 fold! I get to the gym after a decent bike ride & go through the entire song & dance. Yes, I have my ID. No, I've never been a member. Yes, I've been here before. No, I don't wanna sign up yet...I have a 30 day pass. After that, they wanted me to meet with a membership rep. He was nice guy who understood that I just wanted to workout. I shook off the entire thing because I really wanted my body to feel better.
When I arrive the next week, I ask the front desk how I would go about signing in. Mind you, I was never told the entire process the week before & things like that are important to me. I want to maximize my time working out, not jumping through hoops. The guy who tried to answer my question got the details mixed up & told me I'd have to go through the whole process. Remember...I have a 30 day pass. He tells me I have to meet with a membership rep, blah, blah, blah. Definitely not making me want to be part of this place. I explain to him that I activated the pass a week prior & was able to workout. "Oh!" he says & states that I can go in. Not 5 minutes in the gym & a bulldog of a trainer/membership rep calls out my name like I'm a 5 year old child & yells to me "when they say to wait for membership rep, YOU WAIT!" Sorry...BRO...I'm not a dog like you. I asked him if I had to go through this entire shit show everyday for 30 days &, you guessed it, YES! Frustrated by the entire thing, I packed up my gear & politely left.
I don't know about you, but when I get a chance to try out a place that I will more than likely PAY hard earned cash to, I expect those representing the business to take a bit more time to explain to me, the GUEST, the process of the place so things can go smoothly. When I'm thinking about PAYING for a gym membership, I expect to be treated as a GUEST & not someone's illegitimate bastard of a child. For a place that touts wanting to help you attain you fitness goals, your people sure do suck at wooing potential members who'll pay for you to do just that. Finally, don't add more insult to the entire debacle with another level of incompetence. No thank you!
