Excellent sandwich shop with friendly and fast service! My wife and I were craving a chicken cutlet sandwich and I found a lot of travel blogs/videos recommending this place so we decide to give it a try. The sandwich is HUGE so we split one sandwich between both of us and it was more than enough for lunch. The sandwich was made fresh and bread was excellent. The combination of the chicken cutlet, fresh mozzarella, and pesto was an amazing combination. A few of the other sandwiches sounded very good too (Italian Special and meatball/chicken/veal parm) so I will definitely come back to try another sandwich on the menu! There isn't sitting inside the store and there are only a few tables outside so plan on a location to eat the huge sandwich before going to the store!

I'd love to tell you I've been coming here for years, I haven't because I grew up in Brooklyn! So first time here and I'm hoping Faicco's Italian Specialties knows their way around an Italian Sandwich. My wife is getting her hair done and we have dinner plans. I need a quick Scooby Snack for lunch, not too small but enough to keep us going in the afternoon. I suggest pizza? Nah. How about splitting a chicken cutlet parm hero? She send me a thumbs up text so off I go. I'm on the west side of Manhattan and I know Faicco's Italian Specialties is close by. Walking in, Faicco's Italian Specialties has more of a pork store feel. The case has different meat cuts and then it moves towards prepared items like rice balls. The menu board doesn't have 140+ hero choices like Lioni Heros, first time here so I want to try a New York tried and true classic, the Chicken Cutlet Parm. My sandwich order is filled quickly and I'm out. I pick up my wife and we tailgate in the middle of New York City. This sandwich has some heft! It's not loaded with gloppy sauce and the bread taste freshly made, outstanding bread. The mozzarella, it's good but needs more IMHO. The cutlets aren't too thin, overall I'm impressed with my first time order from Faicco's Italian Specialties.

Bring an appetite to Faicco's, as each Italian Specialty sandwich is packed to the brim in an overwhelming amount of meats, lettuce, and whatever other toppings chosen. The bell pepper option was delicious, and was a fantastic sweet addition to a relatively moderate flavored sandwich. Unique storefront brings classic and throwback vibes to the ordering experience, although don't expect to eat in the store as there is limited/no seating. There is seating outside, but consider a brief walk to Washington Square Park to enjoy the sandwich.

Delicious and huge sandwiches served by friendly staff in this Italian deli. It's takeout only with maybe one table out front. In addition to sandwiches, they have an assortment of Italian goods from olive oil to pasta to canned tomatoes. The prices are on the higher side ($21 for my eggplant parm) but the portion is large and the flavors are undeniable. I will definitely be back soon to get my fix.

I was so excited to try Faicco's while I was visiting NY. I decided to get the chicken cutlet with broccoli and mozzarella. I'm sad to report that I didn't enjoy my sandwich. It didn't have any distinct flavor or seasoning. The broccoli may have overpowered the sandwich, but the chicken cutlet was flavorless. The guys at the shop were so nice and welcoming. The shop gave a neighborhood family vibes, which I really enjoyed. I will give them another try and order a different sandwich the next time I'm in the area.

Got the veggie special (artichoke, mozzarella, and sun dried tomatoes). Everything was super fresh and the service was very friendly and quick. The bread was also yummy and the sun-dried tomato and artichokes were seasoned nicely. The mozzarella was yummy and had a nice flavor. But 4 stars because I just loved Casa della mozzarella so much and I liked that mozzarella more. This prices are expensive but justified with the size. But I just don't like getting ginormous sandwiches like these.

Living in North Jersey / NYC my whole life, I've developed an appreciation for comically oversized Italian deli sandwiches. Faicco's offers up one of the largest (and tastiest) subs I've had. Long on my list of lunch spots to check out, I couldn't make the trek down to the decades old Village institution and had an Italian Special delivered. The sandwich was everything you look for in a proper Italian sub: fresh (but still chewy) bread, layers of fresh mozz + soppressata + hot ham + prosciutto + shredded lettuce + sliced tomatoes, doused in oil and vinegar, and large enough you'd need a python jaw to eat. It's definitely not cheap, but it's big enough for 2 to 3 meals.

We came here on a food tour. We tried the Arancini rice balls and they were very good. The vibe is comfortable and they stock so many Italian specialties and goodies, I definitely want to come back and browse more and try more. Excellent array of sausages, olive oils, capers, deli items, and more!

Got the massive Italian sandwich here to eat at the airport and it was great! I ordered online ahead of time since I was on a time crunch and it was ready in time 10min. It is a little more expensive when you order online so better to do it in person if you have the time. The deli was very clean and nice inside. The Italian sandwich was HUGE and came with so much meat. It was delicious and very filling. I could only eat half of it in one sitting and had to save the other half later.

On a Friday at noon, there were customers sitting in the back to dine, but it was peaceful with a steady flow of customers stopping by to pick up baked goods. I came with a goal of picking up a chicken cutlet sandwich, but I was intrigued by the selection of cookies. The Chicken Cutlet Parmigiana Sandwich was chicken parm in focaccia bread, simple yet filling. It was ready within 15 minutes and impressively good. The chocolate chip cookie I snacked on while waiting for the chicken sandwich had less of a traditional chocolate chip flavor but more of a nostalgic Entenmann's cookie flavor.

Been coming here since I was a kid. Great heroes, Italian specialties and our go to for catering also. The 6 foot heroes are a party favorite. Professional counter staff that focuses on customer service and quality. Try the eggplant parmigiana hero, or any variation of their chicken cutlet heroes. Yum!

The most iconic sandwich place ever? I don't know where I found this place but after I saw their humongous Italian sandwiches I knew that I had to try it out. Came here on a weekend for lunch before noon and I was surprised there was no one in the store. My one complaint was that I wish that they had seats, indoor or outdoor, to eat these giant sandwiches. The Italian sandwich was a crazy eat! I barely knew how to order because they didn't have a menu, so I just said "Italian sandwich" and they started making it immediately. The sandwich itself is super hefty and it might've been the most beautiful sandwich-making process I have seen as they kept layering ingredient upon ingredient. In terms of the taste, I thought it was pretty solid as the mozzarella brought it all together. I could taste how high quality all the ingredients were but at the end of the day, it tasted exactly how it looked like. I wish they toasted the bread or made a part of it warmer as the sandwich itself was quite cold. I will be back to try their other options especially if they have any warmer ones. I will say next time I will just order 1 sandwich to share between 2 people as each portion size is huge. I will say that it actually tasted pretty good as a leftover. I'm surprised the bread didn't completely become soggy and hard to eat.

I'm sorry. I know this is a beloved institution, but I never got the hype. Back in college, I would come here because the prices were good and the sandwiches were filling. However, I never thought they were one of the better sandwiches shops. They were just inexpensive to fill a growing boy's appetite, along with being convenient and available. Not saying they don't have any good sandwiches, but this review focuses on their famous signature Italian. Over 20 years since college, I have tried my fair share of Italian sandwiches. Unfortunately, my last visit here a few weeks ago made me realize why I have not been back for over a decade and convinced me why I never need it again. First of all, the sandwich is still as large as ever and the prices are still somewhat reasonable for the size. My major problem lies in the flavor. The cold cuts were tasty and plentiful, but anyone can do that. Give me some quality roasted peppers (their version is so bland), or at least more salt and pepper, maybe some good quality olive oil, and definitely more aged balsamic vinegar. This sandwich literally lacks it all. As a complete product, there are too many options in NYC that would blow this Italian sandwich out of the water.

This is a fantastic Italian deli. It brought me back to my roots. The Italian special grinder was perfection. These grinders are shareable for sure. What an awesome display of Italian homemade sausage. The staff was on point in making the food taste so good. It was so good we went a second time during on time in the West Village.

Wow the sandwiches here are really THAT massive - the size of an actual baby - and I was so impressed. I found the Italian special really fresh, even 2.5 hours later, but it was a bit on the salty side for me and the top bread got soggy bc of the lettuce. Still very much worth the $22 price tag for the amount of meat you get. The one with chicken cutlet/pesto/mozz ($20) didn't hold up as well 2.5 hours later but it was still tasty. Definitely recommend to eat fresh but note there isn't a seating area inside the deli. Would recommend to try at least once in your life!

What a neat place. Full of locals getting sandwiches for lunch or doing some shopping for dinner that night. All the guys were doing great at helping customers. We ordered an Italian Special. My wife and I split it. There's no way I could have eaten the whole thing. It was amazing! I would love to come back someday.

More of a 3.5, but I round up and I would try something else next step. I got the Italian, it was huge, but the price was a decent value, its like almost 4 sandwiches. I didn't love the bread, it was almost a bit stale. The stack of meat as several inches high. I really like the sun dried tomato spread, but overall there just wasn't a ton of flavor. Chicken cutlet looked amazing, I wish I would have gotten that.

We have had this on our list for while - the last time we tried they were closed for a holiday. Small deli in the Bleecker neighborhood, with plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. We walked in and got in line, looking at the menu and making decisions. I will say that no matter how crowded it is - the staff does a good job at making eye contact and accosting people to see who needs helped. We went with sandwiches - I ordered a chicken mozz pesto and peppers sandwich. The portions are staggering - you won't leave hungry. My sandwich was stacked with cutlets and slathered with pesto as well. The cross section doesn't lie - they don't skimp on their sandwiches. The food was great - we sat outside and ate next door. So very good. Would highly recommend this place. Looking forward to coming back and trying something else.

I got the spicy Italian, it was delicious! Definitely a lot of food, fresh and flavorful. Price was a little bit steep for a sandwich, but it was a really good one.

Faicco's Italian Deli on Bleecker St is a classic in New York for over 100 years. Everyone should try a sandwich at least once, just for the experience. (They say that the Italian Sub is the best one.) I ordered an Eggplant Parmesan Sandwich, Arancini Rice Balls and Potato Croquettes. Everything was excellent, though I would have liked some tomato sauce to dip the arancini and potato croquettes into. Nonetheless, the bread was crispy on the outside, with tasty and plentiful soft, well-cooked eggplant and lots of delicious cheese. The rice and potato balls were perfectly crispy on the outside and smooth as whipped butter on the inside. If you want a taste of classic Italian New York...this is it...and the food is terrific, too! Highly recommended!

Big Hype for Faicco's!! I went in between classes for Faicco's spicy Italian sando and split it between my friend and I. This sandwich isn't big, its HUGE so definitely split this big boy with a friend or two because the amount of meat that was consumed in this sandwich I will probably not be consuming for the rest of the year. Perfect amount of veggies and the spicy version of the sandwich made it so good. The cheese was so delicious that they added. This was a great lunch in between classes! The guy was kind enough to give me and my friend extra fried ravioli on the house which was a fun little treat. The sandwich is definitely enough though and they have plenty of chicken and some vegetarian options!

Sandwich is huge, even between two people I was barely able to finish my half. We got an Italian with everything and it was a hefty could barely take a whole bite because there were so many layers. Flavor was good as well, fresh. Bread had a nice crunch on the outside. Needless to say it satisfied my craving. Come hungry and with a friend

Ok such a cute spot. So many Italian sandwich options, but also has a ton of Italian specialty items to buy like pasta, sauces, etc. Service was great - everyone is so so friendly and so helpful. Sandwich came really quick (but was just cold cuts so makes sense). Beware these things are huuuuggeee!! But so so good, really great quality food. Can't wait to come back and try other sandwiches!

100% lives up to the hype! Faicco's is exactly what the doctor ordered after walking miles and miles around New York City. This small, but mighty, deli is filled with delicious meats, cheeses and delicacies. We ordered a traditional Italian sandwich that was STACKED with all the meats our little hearts desired. I only wish I lived near Faicco's to buys some of the sausage I saw on display... I bet they're incredible. The service here is "no fuss." Order at the sandwich counter, pay at the register. Great food, great vibes.

BELLÍSIMO! Big pesto guy here, and this sandwich was excellent. Sandwich did taste a little dry even with the pesto, however this hardly takes away from the eating experience. The setting feels authentic and reminiscent of an episode from the sopranos. Service is expeditious yet homey. Great spot.

This sandwich was massive. I got the Italian Special because I'm a special Italian. They are not shy with the meat portions, but that should be expected with a $25 sub.

I had been told to try Faicco's in the West Village for a while, and I finally did. The Italian sandwich was one of the best I've ever had and immediately became a new favorite. It was massive, loaded with meat, and packed with flavor. The staff was extremely friendly, even coming outside to hand us extra napkins while we ate. The inside is simple and clean since it's just a takeout spot, but the food alone makes it worth the trip.

The place was packed and it wasn't even lunch or dinner time. They moved quickly and the guys were nice. I got the arancini. They had 3 or 4 types. I got the 2 non meat ones. They heated them up for me. They were an amazing deal and incredible. I would come here every day if they were closer to me. I highly recommend the place.

I've heard about this place for so long now and k finally tried it! When I went to Washington square park this past weekend, it felt like everyone was literally eating a sandwich from here. So they must be doing something right. I was worried it might be crowded but I guess Sundays are for bottomless brunch. There was a short line that moved quickly. Ordering is a bit of a free for all. You just get someone's attention. They didn't have a printed menu, just the white board on the wall. Besides their sandwich classics, they also sell meat and cheese by the pound and other Italian appetizers like Arancini and Italian desserts. Normally I might be hard pressed to pay over $20 for a sandwich at a non-sit down restaurant but I can say this was worth it. You can easilyyyy eat twice from one sandwich. They don't skimp on the protein. I ordered the chicken mozzarella and broccoli rabe sandwich. My husband ordered the meatball sub. He said the meatballs were the juiciest he's had before and went well with the cheese and sauce. Not too soggy either. I deconstructed my sandwich and just ate the cutlet on its own with the rabe and mozzarella. It was all delicious. The broccoli rabe is truly the start of the show. Amazing garlic flavor. The chicken cutlet was well seasoned and tasty too, though I probably prefer the chicken cutlet from Cutlet to this one. Was it worth the hype? I'd say so.

Yup. Yuppp. Yuppppppp. One of the best Italian Sandwiches to exist. If I'm ever in the mood for casual Italian food, I go to Faicco's. You just can't go wrong with them. There's no way to. If you find something wrong with them, there's probably something up with your taste buds. Just go! * and the people working are super nice + actually hilarious. Just love it.

Fresh ingredients and huge sandwiches. I imagine it's hard to go wrong with anything. They stuff these sandwiches. This is a classic no nonsense deli that's been uplifted to match the neighborhood. It still maintains a classic charm. You order your sandwich with one person who will make your order and cash out.

Massive sandwiches. I would bring a couple friends to share one. The staff are so friendly and there are so many regulars who ask the staff how they're doing and give updates on their lives, it creates such a joyful environment. I loved being in the shop so much! There may be a line, but it goes fast. You just give them your order and they prepare it quickly, you pay, and leave. This place is amazing!

After 5 years living in the village, I finally stopped in. It doesn't look like much but ... man oh man, have I been missing out. Must order: - Prosciutto Bread: salty meat cooked into a roll. Yes, INTO a roll. Salty and savory... the best thing we ate. Never had anything like this. Priced at $4 this will be a go-to cheap lunch. - Italian Special Sandwiches: easily 2.5 pounds. Everything is top notch -- the meats, the mozzarella, just the right level of oil and vinegar to make it tasty not soggy Other things, but not the star: - Potato Croquettes: nicely fried mashed potatoes. A tad salty. $1 each - Meatballs and sauce: to be expected, a little dense Skip: - fried ravioli, lacked filling, but worked well to scoop the sauce from the meatballs.

Had their subs a few times before when others bought it, but must admit this is the first time I came in to order. The guys behind the counter are so friendly. Although I had looked over the menu online they recommended the special porchetta sub. And I went with his recommendation and was not disappointed. It took a little while for them to apply everything onto the bread and it was well worth the short wait. While many of their subs are starting from $22 on up and seems expensive--this thing is HUGE and two people can eat this. The place is a mini grocery store with Italian items and a takeout deli... this is an institution in the village. Support it!

This place makes a mean sandwich. The chicken cutlet, mozzarella, pesto sandwich is something to behold and eat. A massive sandwich. It's hot the whole time. Down to the last bite. I have rarely eaten anything that stayed hot like that the whole process. Pesto is terrific and mixed in with the nested cheese. The chicken isn't too fried and covered in wrapping. The bread is good. My sister and I split one. Plenty of food for a hungry person. The proscuttio balls weren't my favorite. You're not missing anything. I'd avoid. Speedy service for such a hot sandwich. Nice to eat on one of the two sandwiches outside.

Faicco's is on every visitor's food tour map for a reason. They've been provisioning Italian staples in the neighborhood for a hundred years, and might even make it another 100, who knows. I rarely go in because I live on the Raffeto's side of things, but they've got all the good stuff here, too. The one advantage it does have over Raffeto's are the oversized sandwiches. There were several that spoke to me but since this was my first time here I had to test drive the Italian Special. It comes piled higher and thicker than I've ever seen with prosciutto, capicola, and soppressata--essentially Italian crack between two long slices of delicious hero bread. It is an insane stack and one that I somehow managed to wolf in one session. They're pricy, of course, especially these days, but you can easily make 2 meals out of one sandwich. A top 5 Italian sandwich in NYC!

This place make some really Great Heros. People there are really friendly. Food are fresh, they are crowded but they make it up with speed and kindness

This is the best sandwich old shop in NY. So authentic foods made so fresh and not expensive for what you're getting. I love this place.

I love how old school this place is. And unlike a lot of other old school establishments, the guys behind the counter are very friendly not only to regulars but also to newcomers like me! The heroes themselves are massive, and well worth the price. I'd recommend splitting one between two people for lunch. I got a muffuletta, (three types of salami, provolone, olive tapenade) and though I found it a little too salty that's really on me for ordering such a sodium bomb. Next time I'll definitely get the Italian special, which my sister has had before and loved.

Best eggplant parm sandwich I've ever had. It's massive so you're guaranteed to fill up. For me half a sando was more than enough. Juice layers of eggplant with melted cheese and marinara sauce is just right. I'd recommend eating it right away but it's also good for take away at home.. only thing is the bread gets a little soggy. The guys working there are welcoming and friendly. They have a Take a Number machine at the front but it wasn't working when I came so not sure if it ever does. It gets a little confusing who's in line but they push the orders through pretty quickly. Feels like an old mom and pop shop. I like the vibe.

Their menu depth reflects serious culinary ambition. Prices are reasonable for the qualify of food you get. This restaurant has a wonderful ambiance. The service and the food are utterly perfect. You should prioritize trying this place.

Great tasting sandwiches. We order the Italian special and the chicken sandwich. The sandwiches can easily feed two or more per sandwich. They don't have seating inside the location but there is a park about 5 minutes away where you can enjoy your meal while you watch a game of chest.

Your classic deli shop in West Village with huge portions. If the foods not enough to bring you here, the vibes are. Great group of guys run this spot. I come here every trip to Manhattan. I got the meatball sub and it was MASSIVE. I have to give them props, because I dont know how they were able to fit so much in the bread. There might not be a place to sit and eat because it is your classic counter service deli, but there's a table outside to stand and eat. Can't wait to get the Italian next time.

When I read the reviews on YELP I decided to come here and I was not disappointed! This is the best Italian sub I have ever tried, and everything happened pretty quickly from ordering to cooking. In addition to this, a good family atmosphere, what could be nicer.

We did a tour of Bleeker Street and hit Faccio's second. It probably should've been first because the sandwiches are as huge as advertised! The family split the spicy Italian and chicken cutlet pesto. They were good - but not mind blowing. Honestly - they were TOO BIG. It was hard to get a proper bite. Also - the deli style space and lack of seating forced our group to eat on the curb outside. What I will say - this place has first rate fast service and a very neighborly vibe. We got waved in from an employee who saw us - hesitating outside. He helped us through the options and the order process. If you have a large mouth and a larger appetite this is your spot! We couldn't do it justice...
