"At 27 Old Compton Street, tables of one or two have an informally allotted 45 minutes to scarf their pasta before the next round of Soho revellers come in to do the same. An endearingly shoulder-knocking space, this Italian spot makes all of its chewy pastas by hand. The mafaldi is nice, if a little too chewy, the rustici is a little cloying, and the sauces do the job. That said, every bowl is close to £10 and comes out within minutes. It’s also open until 1am at weekends which feels useful for daydreamers of the old days and, with the help of a drum and bass remix of ‘Dreams’ by Fleetwood Mac, you’ll leave feeling like you’ve eaten in a proper Soho Italian restaurant. photo credit: Jake Missing Food Rundown Mafalda Beef Ragu These long ribbons could have done with five more seconds in the pot, but it’s still good pasta. The sauce is rich and pleasingly slick but the beef needed a little more love. Went here last night and honestly loved it. The place itself is really cute with a cosy vibe. We both had the focaccia with oil and balsamic to start – so delicious. For mains, the beef ragu was incredibly tender, and I had the mushroom and truffle lasagne which was unreal. The food came out really fast too. Staff were lovely, and Hamza was especially polite and made sure everything was okay throughout the meal. Would definitely go back.

Pasta Pasta - this Resturant is always super busy and if it’s busy that means it’s bloody GOOD. Can’t even say how tasty / beautiful the pasta is here. I had chicken & mushroom with truffle oil in like a cream sauce. IT WAS HEAVEN. The manager who is Italian was just so lovely, couldn’t do enough for us. Lots of smiles and a quick service from the staff which you even get to see the chefs cook up the finishing touches to your beautiful pasta dish. We had sides the salad was delicious as well as the arancini. Please DO NOT forget to order the only dessert that they have on the menu (which I can now understand after having it) as it had pistachio in it 🤤 it is not to be missed out on 👌🏼 I was suppose to share it but was way to out of this world that I couldn’t. 🫣🤣

A quintessential Soho find. Small, cozy, and incredibly fresh. We shared the Conch Shell pasta with spicy Salsiccia and tomato sauce, alongside a creamy chicken and mushroom fusilli. Both were standout dishes. Don't skip the courgette fries and mini arancini. The best part? Watching the chefs prepare everything right in front of you. Intimate, fast paced, and delicious.

Really delicious food and would definitely go back if in the area again. The flatbread and beef ragu were particularly yummy. Unfortunately because it is a busy, small restaurant it did feel a little bit frantic but the staff were all friendly but just seemed a little on edge. The food was good value for money especially for London and I found the portion sizes to be just right

A convenient location in Soho, close to the theatres and Oxford street. We enjoyed our meal here, the food was hot and tasty. The restaurant is very small and you're very close to other tables but that was okay. The service was very quick, almost too quick! We were seated, our orders taken and had eaten within half an hour! This took away from a relaxed restaurant experience, but if you're looking for a quick meal then this would suit you well!

This place is a pasta lover’s dream. I came for the truffle lasagna and I’m still thinking about it days later. Rich, earthy truffle flavor woven through perfectly layered pasta, creamy béchamel, and just the right amount of indulgence without being heavy every bite felt luxurious and perfectly balanced. The vodka macaroni is just as unforgettable. The sauce is silky, bold, and clings beautifully to the pasta, hitting that perfect balance of creamy, tangy, and savory with a subtle kick that keeps you going back for more until the bowl is completely clean. What truly elevated the experience, though, was the service. Denisia, our waitress, was absolutely amazing warm, attentive, and genuinely passionate about the menu. Her recommendations were spot-on, and she made the entire meal feel welcoming and special from start to finish. You can tell this kitchen respects pasta, and the staff clearly cares about the experience. If you’re craving top-tier Italian comfort food with incredible service, do yourself a favor and come here. Ask for Denisia and don’t skip the truffle lasagna or vodka macaroni.

We came to this restaurant by chance after a cancellation at another place, and it turned out to be such a great surprise! The hostess greeted us warmly, seated us quickly, and gave excellent recommendations. The service was professional and very friendly throughout the evening. We ordered vegetarian dishes – Vodka Pasta (made without vodka upon our request 😅) and Pumpkin Ravioli – both were delicious and well-prepared. To finish, the hostess recommended the restaurant’s one and only dessert – Pistachio Donuts – and it was absolutely amazing, a must-try! Great atmosphere, lovely service, and tasty food – highly recommended!
