My wife and I have been here on a few different occasions, and we have been consistently impressed not only with the quality of the food but also the service. The staff is very friendly and extremely helpful, especially when you’re having a tough time choosing. It’s a great spot for lunch, and we’ll definitely continue coming back.

Google
My wife and I 1st time trying this establishment and we loved it. Love the idea of building your own bowl. The steak and lamb was cooked to perfection and all other ingredients were fresh. The restaurant was well maintained and clean. The only negative is one of the workers didn't seemed to thrilled to be working but the other few were super friendly and helpful as it was our first time. If you looking for a healthy / tasty meal this is a must try!

Google
I eat at a different location of this restaurant at least two times a week. Yesterday, I wasn't near my usual location, so I stopped at the Royal Oak location. I was greeted promptly and the man that prepared my bowl was very pleasant. My absolute shock and disgust came from something I witnessed while there. I heard one of the guys say they needed bread. I then saw one of the workers go to the oven area and put the dough on the oven conveyor WITH HIS BARE HANDS!!! I asked the guy that was ringing up my meal if he could tell me why the guy was preparing bread with his bare hands. He told me that the oven heats up to 500°. I told him it didn't matter how hot the oven was, they shouldn't be touching food with their bare hands! He agreed that I was right. I'm sure it's not a surprise that I elected not to have the bread, but I have no doubt that the practice of handling dough with ungloved hands has been going on consistently at this location. I would suggest going to a different location because in addition to the disgusting bread practices, the meat in my bowl was dry and tasted nothing like my regular location. I will never go to the Royal Oak location again!

Google
My first experience was not a great one. But after explaining my frustrations to Alex about the food (salad) I was served, he made it right and my salad was sooooooo good. Thank you again Alex.

Google
We’ve eaten here a number of times and the ingredients, portions service are awesome. Pictured we ordered 2 x honest bowls with tandoori chicken and rice as the base. Don’t forget to get the fresh baked bread, it’s my favorite part of the meal.

Google
This food was aome of the best I have ever had!!!!!! The staff was so kind and let me taste things before I committed because it was my first time here. Love love love this place!!! I shall return! 😊

Google
Creating my first Google review in 30 years just to express the complete lack of customer service and human decency at the Royal Oak location. I placed an order for pickup and arrived at the designated time. Upon arriving I was greeted by a staff member informing me they would begin working on the order. 4 separate customers walked in for new walk in orders all who were served first. When I asked for an update on my online order, I was told they had a lot going on and would get to it when they got to it while continuing to serve new walk in customers. After 30 minutes of this when asking for a refund, I was told they “did not know how” and were too busy to do that. The food at other locations is great, but avoid online ordering or interacting with the staff at all costs from Royal Oak unless you want to have your time wasted and be disrespected.

Google
Our company recently had a business meeting catered by 2941 Royal Oak. John designed the perfect catering menu for our needs and the manager Martin was courteous and professional during the delivery. Our guests loved the food and I loved the smooth process. Don’t hesitate to hire this location for your next business or private event! 5 stars! ⭐️ 🌟💫✨🌠

Yelp
One of those places you'd wish was in your hometown or within a decent driving distance. Just fantastic tasting food and I still can't find a door dasher to drive 4 hours one way for me. Your choices will include Mediterranean and Middle Eastern street food that is served in bowls, wraps, salads also comes with your choice of grilled meats. Hummus, fresh hot bread and falafel's are also served with your meal. The fresh hot bread was amazing. I will stop here every time I'm in the area visiting a Tigers game. Service was out of the park for us it was quick and efficient. You walk and order they will pass down the line until you're finished picking items through the clear glass. . First experience for me really impressed with the mixed variety of different tasting food something a small town guy with only a few mom and pop restaurants isn't use to, my taste buds thanked me. Parking was plentiful and there is not a problem finding seating. Establishment well kept, clean dining area nice clean bathrooms. Four full plates of food just under $80.00 darn right you're going to put a tip in the bucket.

Yelp
Food made my friend and I ill. The workers behind the counter were talking about getting the sh*ts from the chicken loud enough for us to hear at our booth. They were not wrong.

Yelp
Heavenly, heavenly! A veggie lovers delight! I plan on studying their menu and making these combos at home. Such unique flavors! Loved the black bean hummus, the homemade bread, that I could add an extra salad vs using rice in my bowl. The big bowl was enough food for dinner that night and breakfast in the morning. I'm usually one and done on restaurants but I want to go back and try different meats, olives, sauces, and veggies. Some meats were halal too. Bowls were around $15 each.

Yelp
I found hair in our food the last time we ordered take out from here. We will never return.

Yelp
Nice spot if you're craving some Mediterranean food. They're are locations all over the metro Detroit area so chances are there's one near you. I've come to this specific location twice and the experience is always decent. We ordered the wheat and rice mini bowl with falafel, red chutney, chili tahini sauce, turkish peppers and beets. This was also topped with a nomad salad and blaze hummus. We ordered some of their bread on the side which was very good and warm. The entire meal is very flavorful and always a 5/5. Of course you can always try out different items and toppings to adjust your level of spice but overall a nice spot for a quick bite.

Yelp
I'm not sure why I hadn't been here before--it's a fantastic place for a quick meal. I love that you can customize your bowl with your favorite ingredients. We stopped by on Saturday around 6 PM, but they were running low on lamb and pork, as well as several toppings, which was surprising given that only two other people were in the restaurant at the time. Despite that, both of our bowls were delicious, though there were a few toppings I would have liked that weren't available. I definitely plan to return to try more options!

Yelp
Unfortunately have to change my review for this 2941, because of my experience last night. To be clear: the food is still 5/5 for me. Make sure to ASK for the samoon chips, because they don't just give them to you with your meals anymore, it seems like - those things are like bagel chips and are delicious. Last night I got a chicken sandwich with garlic and tandoori sauces, plus plenty of green tomatoes, which was delicious, but they are pricey now too: $12.49 for a sandwich or about $15 for a bowl. There are also mini bowl options. So I got an email saying that 2941 was running a holiday gift card deal: you can buy two $25 gift cards for $40 (thus, saving $10). I was interested in doing this yesterday IF I could use the gift cards toward my + my boyfriend's meals yesterday, figuring the meals would run us about $30. I'm not sure if the staff there is new or what, but no one knew what I was talking about. The cashier thought I wanted to USE a gift card - I said, no, I'd like to purchase these (showing her the screenshot from my phone). Another employee, who seemed to be a manager or a higher-level employee, looked at my screenshot, but said she wasn't sure she could do that, and didn't want to overcharge me (I do appreciate that), and she'd have to call her boss - she said her boss would be in the next day (today) and I could call then. (However, that would negate why I wanted the gift cards THAT day ... I also asked if she could just ring up a gift card sale and then I could use them that same day, and she said NO, you'd have to come back another day to use them, which makes zero sense. At most businesses I've been to, if you buy a gift card, you can definitely use it the same day). She did give me a discount because of the hassle - I believe 10% off, it looks like Beaumont employees and firefighters get that discount - which was nice. But if you are a business sending out a gift card offer, especially with certain terms (Dec. 16-18 only, it said), I fully expect you to honor it, so that was really disappointing. I'm leaving 2941 with 3/5 stars, however, since the food is so good, albeit pricey ... I want to say their "Stuf-It Sandwich" used to be maybe $10-11 and now is $12.50.

Yelp
Had such high expectations after the first time at the bloomfield hills location. This location matched expectations. I tried honest bowl with half fritter and half steak, kaleboulleh salad, hummus. Chili tahini and red pepper chutney, mixed vegetables and turnips/beets, and think the carbohydrate was bulgar if I remember correctly. Giant bread on the side. I appreciate that they weigh the meat so portion is objective rather than subjective like other "bowl" places. Very good meal. I recommend the fritter- deep fried goodness, if you are vegetarian or want to indulge. These are calories well worth consumption. All the sauces complimented each other perfectly too. Also liked the salad and hummus- definitely recommend this pair. I don't like the sauce overpowering the dish, and the server honored my request. Quantity was good, not more than bloomfield hills location (felt that was 1.5x what i got here) but still enough by far for one person. Ambiance was good - plenty of booths and tables. Nothing to complain, will be back. Convenient. Healthy.

Yelp
Massive portions with many customization options. The giant bread that comes with the bowl is always fresh.

Yelp
Today, if you go to a place that's pleasant, clean, inviting and comfortable with good fresh food, fantastic bread and premium pop fountain, and you pay less than $16-$20 per adult, PLEASE let me know. Now don't get me wrong, this is NOT a date place (well not a 1st-3rd date anyway)! It's a great lunch place, movie-night place, or quick date-at-home take out place. That being said, it's not a bar or tavern either, so there's no alcohol. I guess, what I'm trying to get at is that most of the negative comments from reviews is that it's over-priced. I just don't see that. Something else to remember is that since there are no servers, you don't have the server tip expense of 20%. There are a few knocks on the food, read those reviews and make up your mind to try this place or not. For my money, the food tastes great and the fresh bread is really tasty (I believe it has dairy in it, so if you're vegan, you should check that).

Guenter S.

Yelp
Super, super friendly staff. It was my first time and they walked me through how to best order, which wasn't too difficult but still very helpful. The food was amazing, in particular the vegan options. If you're vegan or just want to eat healthy, this is the place to go. I liked also how clean and inviting the inside of the restaurant was, great atmosphere

Yelp
I adore this restaurant. It has the most unique flavors mixed together to create absolutely delicious meals. I recommend getting a bowl and getting half chicken, half falafel. I love their pickled beets and hummus too. The food is always fresh which is nice since it's "subway" style. The line moves quickly too. Also, the workers are always so nice!! 10/10 recommend coming here for a quick meal. It's good for takeout!!

Yelp
We had take out from this location last week! The food looked and tasted very healthy! Lots of vegetable and sauce options! We had lamb in our bowls and it was good but my complain is that the bowl had way too much pickle on it! That the whole bowl tasted like pickles more than any other flavor! I understand that for some people that is ok, but I I do believe the making of pickles was exaggerated in the bowl that took away from the flavor of other things! But overall, healthy and good food and very clean and nicely put together! Their cheese flatbread was delish and so is their samoon bread

Yelp
BEWARE. I have eaten here at the Royal Oak 2941 Street Food location a lot. Today will be my last time. I found a small green worm/ caterpillar in my salad, ALIVE. half way through meal. I took my food back and asked for a refund as was told the owner does not give refunds. They gave me a $20 " comp card" which it is highly unlikely that I will ever use. i put the live worm in my side of garlic sauce so I was able to show the staff members, which three of them witnessed the lettuce caterpillar moving around. I looked it up and most of what I saw said that they are usually not harmful, however since they eat the lettuce and defecate on the leaves, it can lead to ecoli contamination. Hoping I don't get sick. gross

Yelp
I really liked this place and went several times during my last week's trip to Detroit. I thought it was excellent quality food at a good value. It was reliable, quick, and nice service when I went and the place was nice and clean on the inside. I opted for the honest bowl when I went which ended up being around $13 and was maybe 1-1.5 portions of food. Could be split up into two meals for a less hungry person. I got half chicken half pork both times on wheat, and got plenty of veggie toppings. The pickled veggies were phenomenal and the meat was tender and well-seasoned. If I have a few minor complaints: -things weren't labeled well in the store and the ordering process was a bit confusing. It was unclear my first time how many of each topping you got and what each one was -the honest bowl is almost too much food and the mini bowl is not enough. Unfortunately there's about a dollar difference between the two which makes the mini bowl a terrible deal. If I ever wanted a smaller meal I would probably skip this place because it's such a horrible deal for a small portion. All in all, this place was delicious and I will be going back next time I'm in town!

Alexandra L.

Yelp
An absolutely incredible place. As someone with a severe food allergy, they have a itemized menu with everything that you can have and are extremely good about accommodating allergies. The food is all made in house and is extremely fresh and all super healthy. They are all extremely patient and give you great portions and let you sample tons of different types of everything. Literally my favorite restaurant in Metro Detroit.
google avatar

Tanni D.

Yelp
I used to love this restaurant when it was located in Downtown Detroit. The food was flavorful, great portions, and affordable. The price has steadily increased, which I completely understand. However, the quality of the food has decreased. My meal was a disappointment during my last visit that I don't think I'll eat here again.
google avatar

Emily C.

Yelp
We didn't eat here, just a couple drinks. However, my grandpa is in a motorized wheelchair scooter and it needed a charge during the dream cruise. We stopped here and asked to charge it. With no hesitation they allowed us, and moved the table to make room.. very accommodating and friendly! If we hadn't just eaten, we definitely would have!
google avatar

Tom R.

Yelp
Great food and a great value. Definitely a new place on my list. The people preparing the food were also very friendly and helpful. Will be back.
google avatar

Rob B.

Yelp
Honest Bowl is a hearty size to fill, but the other bowls are satisfying. There are plenty of meat options to choose from and topping to go along with it. Personally, a little more rice could go in the bowl. I did get too many toppings, which confused my taste buds. It's not a bad thing, though. I was well satisfied. A few toppings have a serious pickling kickback and eye twitching power. The bread is just a freakin awesome compliment. The crew is very nice and works hard to get orders complete. Steady flow of customers.

Yelp
So, I've been to 2941 before (a while ago) and I was a little underwhelmed with the experience. First, the food is now way overpriced for what you get. I can go to Kouzina for a much better experience. I ordered take out, and the stuff was okay, but the soup came with absolutely no liquid. It was just a big scoop of rice in a cup. Lastly, I use the Upside app for a 6% discount and was rejected by the service because the receipt did not include the name of the restaurant. It says "store 3" Now, I can't help but think this is a little shady. Why would you as a restaurant have an agreement with an app to provide a discount and not abide by the receipt printout requirement?? It seems like this is just a ploy to get you in, then reject you the discount later. Even though it's only 6% off, it's still not a good look. Later!!

Yelp
They have a really interesting menu here. Such interesting combos flavors and food items. The pictures of the food going to make me hungry whenever I come across this place on Yelp. My husband got the stuff it with a tandoori chicken, With sweet and spicy Harissa sauce and blaze sauce, double Turkish peppers and hummus to his stuff it roll. I ordered the honest bowl with rice, Signature falafel, The sweet and spicy harissa sauce and Blaze sauce as well, Mixed veggies and pickled beans and pheasant salad and spicy baba ghanouj. My husband enjoyed his stuff it roll. I liked my honest bowl, but the Falafel was too hard and crunchy, they were overcooked. I was only people to eat about a quarter of them. The rest of the bowl was good. I would come again and try something else or skip the falafel.
google avatar

Alexandra S.

Yelp
Quick and friendly service, was my first time and staff was patient when I was ordering. You get a lot of food for the price and it is all very tasty! Ample seating and parking as well. A nice fast casual Mediterranean spot.
google avatar

Charte' H.

Yelp
Always Fresh and Always Fast It smells great every time you walk in, I've never had to wait in a long line bc the staff is efficient! The Food is ALWAYS fresh and you can SEE everything they're doing so that's always a plus for me!

Yelp
I was really excited when I drove past this place last week so I HAD to try the food. Reminds me of the Roti Mediterranean franchise (I normally go in Chicago) I made the BUILD YOUR OWN Honest Bowl w/ basmati rice, tandoori chicken, tandoori sauce, the kale bulleh, Turkish peppers, feta cheese & hummus. As you can see from my rating, the food is definitely tasty, just not what I expected. I really enjoyed the rice and chicken, but wasn't a big fan of the other items. You also get some bread on the side and IT WAS SO FRESH AND DELICIOUS. The guy who made my food was super helpful and kind, wish I looked at his name tag so I could give him credit. I would definitely go back to 2941, but I think I need to play around with what I actually like.
google avatar

Karolina K.

Yelp
I used to go to their old location in downtown Birmingham, and I have to say this one is much better. Easier to park, much bigger inside and so far very clean. The service was ok, some of the team members are still learning, but this is totally fine. The food as always is delicious. Definitely will be coming back. Love their samoon bread and all pickled veggies. Fresh, healthy and very tasty. The only thing I don't like at all are the chips that come with "stuff it" version. They always taste like fried in a very, very old oil. Bleh.
google avatar

Alex K.

Yelp
i crave this place so often it's stupid. my go-to is the falafel honest bowl with harissa and blaze sauce, the atum and osiris salad, black bean hummus, and the peasant salad... it's delicious every single time, and very filling. the chickpea and hominy soup is a lesser-bought item that's delicious as well -- simple, but excellent: don't sleep on it. i wish the arook didn't contain egg, and that they still has grape leaves, but everything they do, they do exceptionally... except maybe the garlic sauce. it's not bad, but it consistently lacks "oomph" when i've had it. overall though, ez 5/5. i hope they can keep expanding for their and my sake.
google avatar

Cosimo D.

Yelp
Great dishes. The Special Bread was like pizza bread with bowls that are thick, hot and delicious Wheat Rice was hearty and flavorful. The telephone rang WAY too many times and the girl on the telephone could have been more helpful, instead of making me feel like a bothersome asshat. Lamb was great, the Pork was dope, the Chicken so good, and the Steak was fantastic. DEF suggest making a stop here.
google avatar

Jason M.

Yelp
This was an awesome find, especially if you like fresh Mediterranean food. I had an honest bowl with chicken, coleslaw and hummus, it was excellent. The portions are really generous, and the homemade bread they serve really fills you up. They have a wide selection of soft drinks. And the setting is very relaxed. Overall, this looks like a great lunch spot with friends or solo. It's pretty loud inside so a date or business meeting might be tough. I can't wait to come here again
google avatar

Angie L.

Yelp
Easily my favorite place to eat. The torshi is amazing. I could eat it every day. They give you delicious fresh bread. Fast and friendly service. Very clean and relaxed atmosphere.

Mishael T.

Yelp
A quick and convenient build your own bowl/sandwich place with lots of options for multiple diets. The staff was nice and accommodating. Food was good, a bit overpriced for what it is but will return.
google avatar

Rebecca P.

Yelp
The food here is generally good - I've been here a few times and like the chefs creations (either the tandoori chicken or Moroccan lamb). But when someone orderers one of these and your missing a key ingredient please tell your customer before you make the whole bowl and try to put the lid on and cash them out like it's normal. I had to ask where the tzatziki sauce was after he closed it and the guy acted like he couldn't hear me and after repeating myself 6 times he said oh that's why I gave you hummus. I said I wish I would have known I would have ordered something else and he said nothing. I should have turned around and left but instead I paid for my food and stopped at Mr.Kabob on the way home to buy some tzatziki sauce to add myself leaving my food cold by the time I got home. I'm honestly not sure I'll return after this experience that they could have easily avoided.

Ricky G.

Yelp
The food is good but just way to darn expensive for so little. Walked out of here for $15.89 for a mini bowl and a drink. I usually order extra meat because the portions aren't enough. I'm not sure if this location is cheap but they limited my topping unlike the other locations I visit. Be prepared to spend a god amount of money here and not be full. It's to bad the food wasn't a bit more fair priced or more bang for your buck.I will say it's always good though.,
google avatar

Michele J.

Yelp
Good food hands down, smaller portions than what I am accustomed to. Good flavor, garlic sauce and bread is awesome! Also, I see they're petty now regarding substitutions, if I don't want a salad I should be able to get more veggies with no problem. The prices have also gone up a bit. My main concern was that the young lady that prepared my food had a mask on that didn't fit her properly, which caused her mask to droop down, and what did she do, touch the mask to adjust it with the same gloves she used to prepare my food. Not cool, especially with everything going on with Covid, and then businesses wonder why our Governor continues to extend orders and close certain establishments. Also, no paper towel in the restroom. Come on people, do better... Otherwise, nice, spacious and closer to home than the Midtown location.
google avatar

Dom P.

Yelp
The most amazing thing happened. My wife and I ordered two mini bowls. After completing our meal and packing up the leftovers we happened to glance down at the receipt to notice they had charged us for the Honest bowl. Upon going to the counter and pointing out the mistake a bald male employee stated. I would have to wait for a manager to come in and correct the mistake. When I asked why he said why are you being rude? I said you overcharged me and I am being rude? By this time my wife had cleared the table and now this little imbecile was asking to see the bowls. We left. Please steer clear of this dishonest and horribly staffed joke of a restaurant. Who on earth would lie about an honest mistake? Obviously this little bald line cook, who's mom probably owns the place. My wife and I are driving home and still shaking our heads.

Yelp
One of my favorite places to eat. So flavorful and it's easy to order. It's fast, feel good food. The pickled beats are delicious.
google avatar

Mina M.

Yelp
My friend recommended this to me and I was pleasantly surprised at how delicious and fresh everything is! I got the honest bowl with falafel. The falafel was freshly fried crispy and moist on the inside. I enjoyed adding all the toppings like beets, pickles, sauces, veggies, feta, taboulleh and more! I've been dreaming of this place since I went last week! Can't wait to go back.
google avatar

Ashlee H.

Yelp
So happy to find that there is not only a location downtown Detroit but in my new neighborhood in royal oak. I've been a could of times and the food is so good. They wear masks and social distance for indoor dinning.

Cecilia P.

Yelp
I am giving this place two stars not because my bowl I ordered wasn't good. However the flat breads I ordered looked nothing like what they should have snd I was given the wrong one to top it off. Normally this kind of stuff I let slide.. but I watched the man check over my order. My roommates didn't even eat their flat bread because it looked so off and was hard to chew. I don't think I will ever go back to this location but I will give another one a shot. The flavors in my bowl were so good

Bob W.

Yelp
Overpriced for the quality and service you get not worth trying. We live so close to more authentic middle eastern and Mediterranean food experiences why waste it on something so bland
google avatar

Rebecca W.

Yelp
Great Mediterranean food! We love the honest bowls!!! The hummus is delicious! Make sure to try their soft beverages- great twists on great soda.
google avatar

Laura G.

Yelp
It was a Spicer, slightly different take on what we normally get. I liked it and the portions were huge. It was a little confusing for a first timer because of the larger number of choices. I will be back
google avatar

Lina A.

Yelp
Had a lunch date with a vegetarian friend. The interior was fresh with a lot of comfortable seating. My friend had been here twice and all her vegetarian cravings were met. I had the largest bowl with lamb ($1.50 extra) with turmeric rice. The choices that followed, sauced, sides etc were overwhelming so I decided to go what looked good to me. My bowl was incredible. It also came with freshly baked in house fluffy bread which I could eat all day. The total was about $13 with plain water. I realised soon after that I had eaten most of the rice but had lots of sides left. So I bought 2 more scoops of of that delicious turmeric rice to go. ($2 a scoop). This turned out to be an expensive lunch but highly recommended!

Yelp
Update: this place never disappoints !! I would eat here every day if I could. My friend and I came here starving after a long boat day and it hit the spot. Always filling and it's a healthier option.

Yelp
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! Fresh, from scratch, healthy food. Generous portions and excellent service. The bread is to die for - hot and fresh out of the oven. We tried a little bit of everything (even soup) and everything was delicious. We will definitely be back!

Yelp
You mean Covid Food? Walked in and watched an employee make 5 different customer's orders with his mask off / wrapped around his neck. Keep in mind this is also an open buffet behind the counter.

Yelp
Great food, good service, good portions. I like all the flavors you get. Soda is awesome.

Yelp
I use to like this place. Food has gone down. Falafel was well done. I ordered the bazaar meal thru GrubHub and it was missing the bread , grape leaves, hummus and olives. Called and manager will send me a card for a bowl! Not a good dinner ton
