I'm writing this review a few weeks after visiting 2AM Izakaya so I forget what some of the dishes were, but I'll do my best. Big mistake, I know, I'm sorry !
Nonetheless, my brother and I visited on a Friday evening. It wasn't too busy, I assume it was because of the rain. As appetizers we ordered Takoyaki, Beef Tataki, Yakitori, and miso soup. Everything amazed us, DELICIOUS. The beef Tataki was well seared, perfectly sliced with a citrus soy sauce and some salt on top. I loved the crunchy texture the salt on top added! It was my first time trying takoyaki, I can't really compare it to other places but it was delicious! Fluffy on the inside with a crispier outer shell. Yakitori was just done so well here! Good seasoning with the sauce not over powering the flavor of the chicken, it blended so well together. And the miso soup was delicious as well, I've had it at many other places and I gotta say by far it was the best here, not sure what they did different but it was just a smoother, richer consistency that made it stand out.
For the on trays, I ordered Niku Udon with beef on top, and a Spicy Ahi roll. My brother ordered the Fried Pork Chop with curry on the side and I honestly forgot what roll of sushi he ordered. The sushi was amazing, very fresh taste on the ahi, great presentation and well put together roll. The roll my brother got had shrimp and I forgot what else, but it was just as great! We loved both.
Niku Udon was AMAZING. The broth was delicious, not too over powering the beef, perfectly in balance with the noodles. The dish surprised me with how good it was. The pork chop with curry sauce was a combination I have never tried before but it works so well ! I highly recommend both on trays.
