"There are some restaurants that exude positive energy – and this is, without a shadow of a doubt, one of them. The two monkeys after which it is named (and which are also depicted on the logo) refer, somewhat surprisingly, to the two chefs at the helm (Vítor Matos and Guilherme Spalk) and their approach to their work – at the same time as offering a high-quality culinary experience, they are also keen to entertain and have fun! This unique space, occupying the former wine cellar at the luxury Torel Palace Lisboa hotel, recreates, in stunning wood, the concept of a theatrical dining experience for just 12 guests built around a central island that provides the setting for the open kitchen. On the single, creatively focused menu, which includes some French-inspired details, guests can explore flavours from around Portugal (we particularly enjoyed the onion chawanmushi and the violet shrimp). The chefs interact constantly with their guests, who are not restricted to a fixed time schedule, enabling them to manage their own experience in more relaxed fashion." - Michelin Inspector

A new Two Star restaurant is highlighted in the selection of the MICHELIN Guide Portugal 2024

"Chefs Vitor Matos and Francisco Quinta have revolutionized Lisbon's gastronomic scene with this restaurant, located inside the Torel Palace Lisbon hotel. Here, the experience takes on a new dimension as they attempt to narrate the flavours of Portugal from a creative perspective and around a gastronomic bar, so the atmosphere is more informal and there is a constant dialogue with the diner." - Guía MICHELIN

intimate kitchen, where you sit at the balcony and get the best view of the kitchen while also being served by the staff. flavourful and bold, some of the dishes are really a hit on the stomach, while some of them follows the dance. very nice experience. visited on 09/24

Loved having the dishes plated up in front of me and explained throughly by all the different chefs Every dish was tasty 👌with the menu stating with portuguese/medeteranian food, involving some african flavours and finishing with a Thai influence. Wine pairing was outstanding, we tried 9 different portuguese wines and they were all delicious and complimented all the dishes perfectly. The sommelier is clearly a wizard Fav dishes were the foie gras, the Tuna and the wagyu “pad thai” but all the dishes were great. Lovely attention to detail from all sides and we felt very welcome and looked after

Intimate setting in an open kitchen. The team was fabulous and they explain every single ingredient as they prepare the dishes in front of you. The produce is very fresh, seasonal and local which is always great. There was nothing mind-blowing or super innovative as in other Michelin restaurants we've been to, and I usually prefer creativity over fancy ingredients in this kind of restaurant. Yes, caviar is delicious, but a bit overdone now. Sometimes they'd mention an ingredient that I could not really taste in the dish (like coriander or ginger). The pumpkin dessert was creative and delicious! I still give it 5 stars because the experience was great overall, with very attentive service, a spotless kitchen and a high degree of professionalism.

This is by far one of my favorite Michelin restaurants I've ever been too. While it is certainly fine dining, it has a more relaxed feel and gives you the opportunity to interact with many of the chefs themselves since they play each course in front of you. As expected, the service is impeccable as is the flavors of each course. While we enjoyed everything, the desserts particularly stood out. Hard to put the whole experience into this one review but an absolute must try!

What an amazing experience at 2 Monkeys! Watching each dish being plated right in front of us was a delightful surprise. Every bite was delicious and perfectly paired with an excellent selection of Portuguese wines. I highly recommend this Michelin-starred restaurant without hesitation. Kudos to the chef and his incredible team!

What a lovely place! We were pleasantly surprised in every way. Having been to many Michelin starred restaurants never had I had every course assembled before my very eyes! It was a highly interactive experience. Everything was delicious and had so many elements. Beautiful decor with lovely dinner ware. Could not ask for more!

Already went to a few Michelin star restaurants and this is one of the best. 12 courses with wine -was excellent. One comment - if you pay over 300euro for dinner and wine, charging 4 euro for water does not seem required. Another small issue - starting cleaning while all guests are still in - not good and makes a lot of noise.

Intimate setting with kitchen prep done in front of you. From the banana scented towels to clean your hands pre-meal to the last dessert courses and sip of wine…what a meal! The staff were like a well practiced symphony of preparation and service right in front of you. The wine pairing and sommelier added to the experience. Highly recommended for any foodie who enjoys a Michelin experience!
