This charming Burien eatery serves up reliable Vietnamese classics like pho, vermicelli, and flaky bánh mì in a cozy, inviting atmosphere perfect for any casual outing.
"There’s stiff competition for Vietnamese food all over the Seattle area, but this place in Burien is among the more versatile spots, working just as well for dining in as it does for takeout. The casual spot has a pleasant floral-festooned dining room that’s good for an impromptu date or catch-up with friends. And while there’s nothing particularly mindblowing on the menu, they’ve got lovely vermicelli bowls good for sharing, flaky bánh mì, and marinades that have a nice sweet-savory balance. There’s no need to travel across town for this spot, but consider it the next time you want a reliable, satisfying meal while traveling through on the way to Sea-Tac. Food Rundown photo credit: Gabe Guarente Chicken Pops Crispy, with dark meat inside that’s juicy. But the breading needs more seasoning. Pass on it and save room for other stuff. photo credit: Gabe Guarente Steak & Brisket Phở Are there better pho bowls around the Seattle area? Yes. Would we still eat this one whenever possible? Absolutely. We particularly like the steak and brisket version with all that tender meat soaked in a light broth. photo credit: Gabe Guarente Vermicelli Combo Easily the best dish here. Order as a combo to get nicely charred chicken, tender grilled shrimp, and crispy egg rolls, all brightened with fish sauce that the noodles absorb like a champ. photo credit: Gabe Guarente Bánh Mì The bread is flakier than George R.R. Martin on a deadline and complements whatever you get inside, particularly sticky-sweet pork. Our one quibble is that it could use a smear of pate." - Gabe Guarente
