Koreatown’s Outdoor Dining Is Starting to Resemble South Korean Pochas | Eater LA

"A Torrance spot reimagined as a permanent semi-outdoor pocha, offering casual, crowd-pleasing items such as cheese corn and fried chicken with a drinking-friendly menu and a convivial, street-vendor-inspired atmosphere." - Matthew Kang

Google
Amazing service. Their food is hit or miss. The tofu kimchi is amazing. I definitely didn’t like their chicken feet though. Still, the lighting is very nice. They don’t charge extra for rice, so you can order rice to have along with your dish.

Kseries M.

Google
Love the place. Korean bar/pub. Always good to come back here. I miss when they did salsa and chips. The peanuts are whatever’s. Please change it back

Google
It may be good with alcohol, but all the seasonings were a little too salty, especially kimchi pancake. The staff were kind and the atmosphere was good.

Google
awesome experience. They even stayed open late for us. Service was prompt and polite. I love the patio and the crowd that was there was all in good spirits. It actually felt very inviting like i was at a family event. i have lived 4 mins away for 3 years and never gave them a shot until now. The Wings have a wonderful crispy fair like tempura batter and the soup is an absolute must here. We will most certainly be back !!!

Dennis P.

Google
The owner (I think?), the old Korean man, was such an eccentric and bubbly character, and the food was good.

Link L.

Google
Laid back Korean bar and grill with ample patio dining space. Drinks are mostly beer and soju, and food is no frills Korean comfort food. We tried the bulgogi and steam pork belly. The pork belly is a winner. Next time, we will try the fried 🍗 and beer 🍺 combo, which sounds like a great deal at less than $30.

Kevin B.

Google
Had the beef bulgogi with rice and kimchi, and a beer. It was delicious! Love how late they're open too!

The owner greated us at the door, very friendly, welcoming, pleasant atmosphere .. great service will definitely come back and recommend. The food was outstanding ..

Yelp
We've been coming to this Korean bar and grill for years, and it never disappoints! The owner is so, so, so nice -- he always comes by our table to check on us and even takes shots with us. Recently, we came here to celebrate our good friend's birthday, and he went above and beyond by surprising our friend with a birthday gift -- a nice bottle of sake with matching shot glasses! I also really appreciated that we got to sit at the table I requested. Our server, Sean, was absolutely amazing! Even though he was working solo that night and it was pretty busy for a Wednesday, he handled everything flawlessly -- from storing the cake to clearing the table and bringing it out right on time. I even forgot candles, and he saved the day by providing some along with a "Happy Birthday" sign. So thoughtful! Everything we ordered was delicious -- the steamed egg, sizzling pork belly, cheese corn, and of course, the chicken! It was such a fun and memorable evening celebrating our friend's birthday. Cheers to many more happy moments!

Yelp
The best part is they are open late with a nice size menu. This is what brought us here and late night spots are limited in the South Bay. I really had no idea this place existed. Driving by frequently, it's hard to tell what business is there as it's dark with minimal signage. Pulled in the lot and this place was packed!!!!!! Usually a packed restaurant is a great sign. Overall, the food was good. Not memorable, but tasty and was satisfying. The service was subpar. We waited a long time for food and had to track down our water for anything needed. Considering the parking lot was packed upon arriving, it definitely fizzled out and the restaurant was less crowded as the night went on. Hence, service should have been much better.

Yelp
Came to 3355 Asian Grill for my friend's birthday as he lives really close to here and really wanted to try it. This place serves Korean bar food since it is essentially a Korean bar. Ordered a ton of food as we had seven people. Had some chicken wings (regular and spicy), kalbi Korean BBQ ribs, bulgogi Korean BBQ beef, seafood pancake, shrimp fried rice, roasted octopus rice noodle, spicy soondae, pork belly tofu kimchi, shrimp and vegetable tempura, clam soup, and duk bok-dae. Favorite thing had to be the regular chicken wings. Something about how Koreans fry up their chicken wings just hits the spot! Other things I liked were the kalbi and bulgogi (of course), shrimp fried rice, and pork belly tofu kimchi. Only thing I wasn't a fan of was the spicy soondae, as the blood sausage wasn't solid enough for me. Service here is great! You put your order in on the tablet at the table. Food comes out pretty quickly after that. They even gifted my friend a bottle of soju for his birthday. Definitely a solid place to come to, especially in Torrance where it is predominantly Japanese food.

Yelp
Ambiance: it's Korean bar style restaurant, they have private parking lot and spacious dining inside and cozy patio, good for group hangout Service: you place the order through the touchpad, and servers will bring your drink and food to the table Food: classic bar food, sorted by price range Kalbi Korean BBQ Ribs - *** sweet taste Korean Style Baked & Fried Chicken - **** crispy Cornish chicken, soft and juicy meat, recommend Price: medium portions and expect $30+ per person

Yelp
I'm updating my reviews to 5 Stars!!! Better food, awesome service!! Coming here gives me so much memories. Food was soooo delicious! Love their fried squid!!

Yelp
Nothing is better than 3355 at midnight! Grateful this place is open late in Torrance. The food is so good. My friends and I typically get bossam, soon tofu, lots of beer and soju. Service is always so quick and the vibe is great.

Jamenica R.

Yelp
Food is good, service is great. They're open until early morning. This is our go to place when we are craving Asian food late at night. The place is relaxing too.

Yelp
Had dinner here last week. We ordered the Cornish hen, galbi, and Kim chee soup . Everything was so good. Service was awesome. The restaurant is nice and clean. The service button works well too lol.
google avatar

Yelp
Still one of my favorite Korean bars/restaurants. The owner is very kind and welcoming always. He has a big smile and loves to greet us with a glass of Soju. The food is always excellent and comes out in large portions for sharing. Mix crowd of young and old all sharing a good time and a cold beer or soju.
google avatar

Lindsey D.

Yelp
Met up with a few friends here for some appetizers and drinks on a Saturday night. Our party of 8 was seated in their outside patio area. It was a little chilly so I appreciated the heater poles set up around us. My friends enjoyed their appetizers while I tried their selection of soju. Overall a chill spot to hangout with friends.

Yelp

Yelp
Visited recently with a big group. We had the army stew, the ramen, seafood pancake, and fried chicken. Great vibes, service, and authentic flavors. Especially loved the army stew, would definitely recommend!

John P.

Yelp
Went couple times now after a round of golf. Workers & owner are very friendly. I love supporting places where they value patrons over anything else. The food is good too. Reminds me of my good old days when I used visit korean cafés quite of bit. Wish the portion was a little more though. Overall a great place to just relax and hangout.

Sharmila T.

Yelp
Very friendly loved the tofu soup and kalbi very good! The owner is the absolute sweetest gave me a froggy pen!

Julius D.

Yelp
Great ambience and tasty menus. Hidden place in Southbay. Try all chicken menus with fresh beers!! I used to go visit once a week. I want to visit soon.

Meliza P.

Yelp
Pricey, but good food Love their outdoor dining as well. Service is good too. I do recommend.
google avatar

Robert M.

Yelp
This is a gem of the Southbay. The service and food was 10/10. Usually stick to going to Koreatown for late night eats but glad we ended up here. We ordered army soup and spicy fried chicken. It came out hot w the bonchon on the side. I forgot to mention when we walked in, I believe the owner was there to greet us w hugs and fists bumps hahaha, he even talked w us during our meal. Did not expect that but very welcoming. The staff, food, ambiance made it a great experience. Can't wait to go back w a large group to have soju and further explore the menu! Great for large groups or date. They have outside patio seating with heaters, open late. Can't get better than that.

Yelp
Came in for the stew was feeling a little under the weather picked up to go. So flavorful and authentic.

Yelp
Come for the drinks, stay for the good vibes! This bar has been a go to spot for me and my friends whenever we're in the mood for drinks. It's not as glamorous as your local k-town pub, but it gets the job done. They have a good selection of soju and Korean beers, there's plenty of food options and the employees are really friendly! The service is also very quick- if you need something then you just push a button to call a server. I prefer this method better because you don't have to wave down a server from the other side of the restaurant. They have plenty of seating indoor and outdoor. I prefer sitting outdoor because the ambiance is more fun with the outdoor lighting and music. The food isn't anything mind blowing in my opinion, but I would recommend trying the bossam! Give this spot a try the next time you and your friends are looking for a place that's open late at night!

Yelp
Food was fabulous and plentiful lots of variety salads and dessert. Reasonably priced
google avatar

Yelp
I didn't know this place was in my neighborhood. The ambiance is definitely something else, in a good way. The food was great. It's definitely a place to come back to.
google avatar

Yelp
Laid back Korean bar and grill with ample patio dining space. Drinks are mostly lagers and soju, and food is simple Korean comfort fare. We tried the bibimbap and steamed pork belly. The pork belly is a favorite. Next time, we will try the fried and lager combo, which sounds like a great bargain at less than $30.
google avatar

Karen Y.

Yelp
My husband and I love this place. Very chill for us. The service is awesome! We go early so it is not crowded at that time which is what we love. We like the food as well fried rice and grilled gizzard are our favorite.
google avatar

Jeremy L.

Yelp
Came here when they opened at 5 on a Thursday evening. Nobody here. They don't really have any happy hour specials. Nice outdoor seating area with heat lamps. Drinks: They have a good soju selection. Draft beers are just okay. Service: attentive and fast once you hit the button. The button was placed right at the corner of the table. Whoever sits there can easily accidentally hit it which we did many times... and the server came right away! lol. Chicken Wing (4): The wings are good. Lightly battered and juicy and moist. Their spicy is just their regular chicken wing with the sauce on it. The sauce isn't that spicy though. They did give us some sriracha on the side but that's just... sriracha. Duc Bok ee (3): It was good, not great. Again, this place lacks heat. The rice cake was cooked good but just needed more of a kick! Kimchi Pancake (5): This was good. Good kimchi flavor and the pancake itself was crispy on the outside. Sweet Potato Fries (4): These were pretty good as well. Fried nicely. Fried seaweed noodles (4): I forgot the name of this but it was recommended to us so we can dip into the duc bok ee sauce. It's basically the glass noodles wrapped in seaweed and fried. It was pretty good and definitely a good compliment to our other dishes. Overall, great hangout spot with some decent Korean pub food.

Yelp
Chill place to come eat and drink. The photos didn't look like much to me online but it's different in person. The dim images of the food on Yelp don't do this place justice so I will post a few here. Anyways, the proteins are about 18-21 dollars but it should be enough for two people to share. My and my girlfriend got kim chi rice, kalbi, and bulgogi just under 60. I was full after the meal and I'm typically a bottomless pit. - you get to press a button to summon your server.
google avatar

Ryna D.

Yelp
This was a random find that turned into an excellent spot for late night eats. Cheap, delicious, and fun vibes. Everything we ordered was very good. Definitely keeping this on my back pocket for when we're coming home late from an event or late flight and need late night grub.
google avatar

V Y.

Yelp
Must try their old Korean style fried chicken!! And fried KimMaRi is so good no wonder they theirs is little bit pricier than others. But I really recommend!
google avatar

Kayanne G.

Yelp
I only come here at night with my husband or a few friends. The outdoor seating is the best, especially for watching sports. The food is all solid, no matter what I choose, and everything is made fresh. The only issue I have is the parking, which can be frustrating, but it's not usually an issue. The price is okay, but there are some items that aren't worth paying for considering how much they give for each portion. I recommend the fried chicken!

Yelp
Walked in here after perusing the K-Pub options in the South Bay, and although the restaurant was packed (glad to see it after this past year) the staff were warm, welcoming, and quite friendly and very attentive! We were seated at the last remaining table in the house at the time (around 11pm when we walked in) and stayed until 1am sipping Soju with not only each other, but also with the Owner doing laps and tagging up with each table! Onto the food -- the boiled Pork Belly with Cabbage, Kimchi, and Garlic really hit the spot. Simple, but delicious with the side sauces. Army soup with hot dogs and bacon -- BOOM goes the dynamite. And the kimchi fried rice always hits the spot. Would definitely return here again soon; wonderful, hardworking staff to match the speed and quality of the menu -- this place is LIT!

Yelp
Perfect place for a late night grub!! My boyfriend and I always come to eat here super late but they are always accommodating (last call is at 12, I believe, but they let you stay until their closing time). Jay, the manager, took care of us last time --very cool guy, he made sure that we were well taken care of. He's also very upfront when asked about questions about their food and would direct you to what is best for the kind of craving that you're having. We usually get spicy pork or kimchi stew, but the last time we went, we got their Bulgogi Beef which was so good we had to order a second plate of it to share. Lol And per usual, we also had a few bottles of Cass and green apple Soju.
google avatar

Yelp
The best Korean style bar in town. Always love this place since long time ago. All the menus I tried was more than good and yummy. And also nice patio with lighting makes perfect drinking vibes for sure. All staffs are so nice and the owner gentleman treated customers like his family and friends. Def 5 stars, period.
google avatar

Joyce T.

Yelp
A great place for Korean drinks and food. Lots of beer and soju. There is a buzzer on the table to call on server. I really enjoyed that. The service overall very prompt, friendly, smart and helpful. **The gentleman owner is very sweet and greeted us. Food made best for friend/family sharing. Patrons are very happy here.
google avatar

Mariah C.

Yelp
The food here is extremely good. We ordered two army soups but we didn't expect the serving size to be so big, it could easily feed four people. It was fresh off the stove, spicy, and delicious. The service is very quick, each table has a button for immediate service. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the outdoor seating is perfect for friends to chat. However, this location is a Bar & Grill. There are no reservations or guaranteed seating. We arrived on a Sunday night around 10:30 and were seated right away, and we also went on a Tuesday night where we had to wait for a seat because it was so busy. I'd highly recommend this location for a causal get together with friends. I guarantee you'll be back for the food'!

Yelp
Great portions, solid Korean food. It's a late night spot in Torrance, which is rare in such a suburban part of LA. Last time I was here I did takeout, so can't vouch for ambiance. The omelette rice and soup I got were great for late night food. During the day I think there are better options, but this is a solid one if you're craving something after 10pm that isn't fast food.

Adrian M.

Yelp
Just went here last night with a couple friends for my birthday. I got to say it's a very nice place! Food, drinks, ambiance was on point! For it being our first time we were treated with great respect and hospitality. Would definitely recommend if you are in the area.
google avatar

Yelp
Casual atmosphere. Indoor and outdoor seating. Indoors playing Korean music, kpop. Outdoors, it looked like they had some sports on TV.
google avatar

Hyunjin B.

Yelp
It is Korean style pub! Every server is kind and friendly. Every food was fit with Soju !

Yelp
If you need a place to chill, relax, grab a couple of drinks with some amazing variety of Korean food, THIS IS THE PLACE TO BE. Especially during these times, sadly not a lot of places are open. For 3355, they follow the protocol and rules in order to open their place to the public. 3355 are open for dine-in in their patio where there are heaters to keep you warm, amazing servers and the best owner. :) The service here is quick, efficient with a click of a button. The servers are always looking around to see if anyone needs anything. If you're living in the SouthBay area and never came here before, try it out cause you'll be able to see why there are so many regulars and may be a regular yourself. I would recommend the Korean Style Baked and Fried Chicken. It's crispy, tender and delicious. You won't find this anywhere else in the SouthBay area. If you like drinking and eating, this place will hook you up with services (beer, soju). Check this place out! :) Let's help out these small businesses and support the servers who are working hard during these times :)

Yelp
Really great food, great service, good drinks. The owner is the NICEST person ever. Highly recommended.

Yelp
Hard to find a Korean bar/restaurant in torrance like this one. I ordered the army soup 10/10, whole fried chicken 9/10. Checked Gizzards 10/10. Service is fast even tho it was busy. Highly recommend this place.

Yelp
place is goated service is good too i dont remember the waitrs name but he is soooo chill shout out you bro. Steve is also the goat

Scott G.

Yelp
I hadn't been here in years because of a bad experience but we decided to give it another chance. I'll just start by saying that they really really impressed and delivered. The service was amazing! The food was so delicious. The beer was so refreshing and everything was very affordable, especially in this economy. The atmosphere has really changed here for the better. I'm so happy to have this place back. I have two small children and it's rare we get the chance to go out. When we do, it's often very late so the fact that we have a nice restaurant we can have drinks and great food at this close to home, is deeply appreciated . I can't say enough good things about our experience here and the way we were welcomed/treated. I just can't wait to go back there and I hope you give them a try. It's well worth it, trust me!

Yelp
A friend and I came here around 11pm on a Tuesday night because it was one of the places around us open at the time. We walk in greeted right away and got to pick our own table. Simple way of service.. ring the bell and they came running. We started with a somac (soju and beer) and Ray (one of the servers) showed us the golden ratio. Super clean drink but then introduced us to a Tiger bomb (coke, soju, beer) which we had a few of. We had a Korean ramen 7/10, Kalbi 8/10, Bulgogi 7/10, 2 soju bottles and a large liter of beer= $151. This place is a vibe and overall a fun space to hangout especially on late nights. Ray if you're reading this we will be back and we appreciate your service.

Yelp
The food is great. The mood is great. The service is good. We were there for a few hours and it was very comfortable. Their AS however is disappointing. They are open late so the whole parking lot is theirs after hours. I was parked in the third lane of spots which is painted w diagonal parking spots. When I tried to leave, the car next to me parked straight, almost diagonal to the left while the rest of the row was parked diagonal to the right. I tried, but I couldn't pull out of the spot. So I went inside and asked for help. The waiter asked me what I needed. So I explained my situation and asked for him to ask the patrons if this is their car, could they move it. He said that's not our parking lot and our people are not supposed to park there. Ok, but I did and my friend did... nothing else is open nearby so the likelihood of your customer also having parked there is high. And if you ask and they aren't a customer then oh well for me. He looked at the cars and said my car was the one weirdly parked. I said no, this is because I tried to get out and couldn't so I need this car to move. I'm not going to try a 10 point turn and risk damaging their car or mine. He went inside and a few minutes later several people came out. Other cars not involved moved but it took a while for the other driver to actually come forward. The young woman said what's the problem? So I explained again and she said you're weirdly parked. There's lots of space, why can't you move your car? I said again, I was initially properly parked and tried to pull out, but I couldn't. I need you to move. You were the one who was parked wrong. I'm not going to risk damaging my car or yours, just please move your car. There was a few verbal exchanges as she became argumentative. You are right there. Just move your car so I can go. Finally she decided to pull out and repark. I was able to reverse and leave. I don't understand why the server and the other driver were so argumentative and in denial of the actual situation. I took a pic of the cars before I moved mine and the other driver's license plate. Everyone in that lot is your customer after hours. You know this. I know this. And the other driver was a customer. Common courtesy by both of those parties would have made an awkward situation a lot easier but they had to choose violence. Do better. Will I got back? Probably. But this exchange left a bitter taste in my mouth. Edit: Excuse me, No I was not intoxicated. I physically didn't have space to back up because her car was angled against mine. Her car was blocking my exit - I could not safely reverse my car. I initially tried to move to the side and couldn't because she was blocking my car. That's when I went inside to ask for the other driver to move her car. Don't slander my character. Don't make up stories.

Yelp
I'm so glad that 3355 is still open, this place has been one of my go-to spots for late-night drinks and comfort food with friends. They have plenty of heat lamps to keep you warm in the evenings and those k-pop songs to enjoy while cheering shots of Chamisul fresh. My favorite food items here are their fried chicken gizzards, whole chicken, and their soups (clam/mussel both are delicious)! The servers here respond quickly and are always on point. And the owner is super friendly, we always enjoy cheering with him. If you need a spot to chill and enjoy yourself with friends/family this is the place to be.

Yelp
The go to spot for Korean drinks in Torrance. Dog friendly with a heated outdoor patio, with tasty food and ice cold soju. Staff is super friendly and attentive.

Josh K.

Yelp
I love this place! They have the best bossam and even better service! The owner is always so nice and the servers are very attentive.

Yelp
FALSE ADVERTISEMENT Supposedly close at 2am but kitchen closes at "12am" and "last pour" at "1am" pathetic.......... How hard is it to adjust your hours?
