They had a whiskey that few stores carry and for a much lower price than in Manhattan. The owner was very helpful. Definitely worth going out of my way to visit.

Great little neighborhood liquor store. I called ahead to see if they had a particular bottle – they did. Swung by to pick it up and they had set it aside since it was the last one. Good selection, fair prices and super nice people.

This is a really disorganized, and rather discourteous place. They have an average selection and awful loud music. But what really stands out is that they are clueless, they actually don't know what they sell and I had to spend some time getting the run-around before they found the bottle I was looking for. There were cartons on the floor, disinterested staff, and (wait for it) no sign on the shop, with scaffolding around it. They look like they are about to go out of business and if that happens, that may really not be such a bad thing.

Had to rush in here to buy some last minute supplies and was pleasantly surprised. The location is very well stocked and the employee at the register was very helpful with helping me find items I was looking for but couldn't find myself. The prices are also very fair and they even had flavored soju which I had struggled to find elsewhere.

Very reasonable prices, very friendly guys, and always very helpful with my selection, no matter what my guests' favorite wines! We even bought cases of wine for my sister's wedding from here. Their hard liquors are well priced too. Love this little shop!

We love this neighborhood spot. We got a dog and I was waiting for my bf outside the store with her when they told me I could come in- so nice!! Something good is always on sale and their prices are the best we have found.

I’ve been a customer for 10+ years and these guys are amazing. The prices are the best that I’ve seen in Sunnyside, Woodside and Astoria. They have a wide variety of wines and liquors at different price points and their membership discount is fantastic.

Had I written this review a year ago, it would have been 5 stars for sure but I have to amend for what appear to be some recent changes. This is a simple local liquor store with a good-not amazing selection of wine and spirits. For whiskey, I always thought their selection was very tasteful and prices were probably the best in the city. They still have good prices on staples but whereas they used to keep highly allocated bottles behind the counter only and if you asked about prices they might have a small markup from retail value. Now a glass case adjacent to the counter is filled with allocated stuff priced at about secondary market value. I can understand this from a business perspective, in a way it's just supply and demand, but as someone who frequents this establishment for its local feel, I would have liked to see them deal with high demand items by making them accessible to repeat customers via raffle or just putting them out for everyone at retail prices. I'll still come here but it's too bad about the secondary prices mentioned above.

They are rude & have favorite customers. Chatty as hell with them. I'm treated like a 3rd class citizen. A booze dispenser sould never look down at me. I have a degree that surpasses all conbined. I doubt any one of them has a doctorate? Although I spend quite a bit the management is always rude. Staff is great. If they weren't so close I would go elsewhere.

Great neighborhood shop. Owners and employees are always helpful if you need a rec, prices and selection are good. And they have a rewards program - $5 off every $100 you spend!

Brief pop in for some Chandon. Got the last chilled bottle in the fridge (and popped a room temp one on to replace). Really friendly service and great selection!

This small shop is worth the trip from other boroughs for their Riesling selection and prices on new world favorites. This is the only shop I've found that carries all of the Tesch single vineyard dry Rieslings ($19 each), each is delicious. They also carry great bottles from Ridge and Grgich at the lowest prices I have seen in NYC.

This shop and Wine Stop are my two go-to places for wine and spirits. In particular, 36th Ave Wine & Spirits has a great selection for reasonable prices, and when you ask the owner for a recommendation, he knows his sh*t. He has never steered me wrong with what he suggests. They are also quite strict about social distancing measures and maximum capacity, which I greatly appreciate.

I have been looking for a wine delivery place and I found this on Yelp. I navigated their website and I was surprised by their huge selection of wine! Also, the price is very reasonable and I ended up ordering many bottles. So far, I used them twice and they delivered pretty fast. Highly recommended!

I came here tonight on my walk home from the Q train, and I still love it. I'm far from a wine-o. Like George Costanza, I prefer a good grape juice, but this little wine shop had something that caught my eye today. A really big, really cheap ($10.99) bottle of Barefoot Moscato. It's really sweet, barely wine - this much I admit, but as a dessert wine, it's not bad. The shopkeepers are always really helpful, and can help you find a wine or spirit based on meal or activity and price point.

I love these dudes! Every time I step in all of the staff are welcoming and actually know about spirits. The recommendations are always on point and they are hella friendly. Glad this is my new liquor spot...keep it up ya'll!

They are super knowledgeable and even ordered something for me that wasn't in stock. They called me when the sale arrived. Great local spot.

It's a walkable distance from a few hotels if your staying in Long Island City.m

This place always exceeds my expectations. Shopping there is easy, quick, and the staff is incredibly helpful, welcoming, and nice. Every time I have shopped there my experience has been literally perfect. The employees are very knowledgable and can recommend something to you if you want something specific. The prices are great! And they have so many choices! I recommend this store to anyone and everyone. Love it!!!!

I don't understand the organization, but at least there's knowledgeable ppl there If you're looking for an organized wine store where you can go by region or wine type, you can forget it for 36 Av Wine. At least you won't see big signs listing these things. But at least the people working there know all the wines that they carry. I went in here looking for a Gamay, and they casually figured out that the Gamay is a grape grown and harvested in the Beaujolais region, and quickly led me to the section where they carry this wine. If I was to wonder in the store, I would never find it. Base on my experience in other wine stores, you're lucky if they know what Gamay is.

I live up by Ditmars, with many other wine and liquor stores much closer, but this is definitely the best one in Astoria! Amazingly knowledgeable and friendly staff, and the best whiskey selection in the neighborhood by far.

They just recently added a walk-in temperature controlled room for Reds! Check it out for your higher end Red wine needs. Really nice addition to a great store!

Very nice variety It feels like a busy liquor store with focus on volume (I do not know if this is true but this is the sense I got) with a touch of a neighborhood (old Italian) wine store. A very good selection of premium Italian wines as well as a few unique ones.. Prices are better than average on most items. Organization and separation is lacking but that has to do with the floor plan and décor as well... Almost everything is on-point here except the ambiance. With so many beautiful wine stores in Astoria, this one has to step up the décor to win me over.

My go-to wine spot in hood. I enjoy the pleasant service, i'm always greeted with a smile, and the staff is knowledgeable about their products. I've been there many times asking for something special, or for a wine to complement a certain type of food, or the perfect gift for host at a certain price range. NEVER DISAPPOINTED ME!

They might not be the trendiest, but they have some of the best prices and selection in the neighborhood. If you want something specific not on the shelf, ask if it is available. They will usually order it for you. They have MANY customers who live in Manhattan but deal with them, as their prices are better. I call them "the wine guys", and Phil is a fan of single barrel bourbon-- ask about the fall tastings they have planned for those.

Friendly staff, a good selection of wines, and everything is labeled clearly. It's a no frills liquor shop--I can always find what I need quickly and efficiently.

Love this place! Great variety and prices are the best you're going to find. Trust me...I drink a lot and I keep coming back here. Just last week I noticed a bottle I picked up on a whim elsewhere priced easily 18% more than what I ended up paying here. Good variety and if for whatever reason, they dont carry it - they'll order it for you.

This is my go-to place for 12.88 1.75 liter Georgi Vodka when I can't get down to Warehouse Wines & Spirits Astor Pl. for their Pinnacle 12.99 or out to National Liquors at 35-00 48th St. for 12.99 Georgi. Anyplace else in my hood tacks on a couple more bucks.

this place is amazing: really strong red wine selection and the prices are fantastic. nothing even close to it in the neighborhood. family-run, helpful staff, it is a gem business.
