370 Strand: A traditional British cosy cafe in our cosmopolitan capital.
I noticed their sandwich boards while on the Strand, they advertise ' English breakfast, Tea and Coffee ' . I had already glanced into several cafes as I was walking from Euston, ( heading for St Paul's cathedral) .
I checked out their menue/ prices in the window, it looked to be an independent business, clean and cosy , so went in .
I was welcomed and advised I could sit anywhere, a menue was brought to me/ table service. I ordered a bacon sandwich and a coffee ( americano) .
The manager/ staff are polite and approachable, and the service was attentive and informal. I was on my own and felt comfortable.
I overheard a couple comment on the bubble and squeak so had to order one as a side .
The bacon sandwich was quality, thick buttered white bread and back bacon. Coffee was excellent too !
I was advised the bacon and sausages are sourced from local markets, and that the bubble and squeak is a 20 year old secret recepie ( definitely worth trying) .
If I'm back in the area I would order the full English ( comes with bubble and squeak) and also try the scones .
Recommended: good value , cosy British cafe.
I didn't use the WC so can't comment.
I didn't notice if there were high chairs but perhaps the management will advise in their feedback.
I have added photos to support my review.
