I went in today to sell some books I've been wanting to part with. I was told the shop would review them and get back to me with a price for the lot. However, my experience was disappointing for several reasons:
1. I was told on Saturday that the owner, Chris, would be in, but when I arrived, I was informed he wasn't there.
2. The staff claimed they had no idea I was coming, even though I spoke to multiple people beforehand to confirm my visit.
3. I was told the shop was too busy and that my books might sit around for a while before they could review them.
4. I was even advised to try another shop.
This was extremely frustrating, especially since I had packed up all the books, brought my 8-month-old along, and made the trip. As I was leaving, I noticed someone I assumed was Chris sitting in his car with the window down. He could clearly hear how frustrated I was as I packed up the stroller and put my baby in the car. Instead of addressing the issue directly, he went inside the store.
Eventually, the same employee came out and said they could take the books if I still wanted to leave them. At that point, it felt like too little, too late. Chris could have easily come over, apologized for the miscommunication, and helped resolve the situation, but that didn't happen.
I'm very disappointed with this shop. They might be great to buy from, but this was my experience trying to sell to them.
