I was amazed at how busy this place was on a Wednesday evening! I mean, it's not exactly 'convenient' in that it's upstairs from all the sweet spots and hot spots that are at the street level in this bustling little food mecca in Doraville - I gave up trying to count how many different restaurants, tea shops, and dessert places there were downstairs, all Asian, and all apparently doing a booming business (with the exception of J-Bistro, which mysteriously announced that they are closed Wednesdays, sorry for the inconvenience... through a hastily-prepared hand-written sign on its door). Yet here they are, hordes of 20 somethings waiting in line to place their special drink order (or should that be 'dessert', since ''ice cream' is even in their name). There are lots of options pretty much for every drink: ice amount, sugar level, and, OH, the add-ons, all pretty much $1 each. If you're not careful with that $7 drink, you could easily double the price! We settled on an intriguing "Crème Brûlée milk tea", and did the smart thing by super-sizing it (only $2 for a 32-oz. drink) and sharing. It does score points on 'authenticity', as it really did contain some elements of a real Crème Brûlée, but the caramelized sugar burnt top isn't part of this drink. It appears to be better than the drinks that our daughter and son-in-law had: a regular milk tea with some kind of twist to it, and the ridiculously-titled "Domineering Lemon Tea" that our S.I.L. had - neither of which, judging by how they described it, was worth their price. So, this was enjoyable if one must have dessert, but I don't know about doing it on any regular basis both from the diet and budget viewpoint.
