New York City Restaurant Closings, September 2020 - Eater NY
"After 10 years, 40 Knots has closed for good. The neighborhood bar cited the downturn from the coronavirus pandemic as the reason behind its closure." - Eater Staff
Cool, casual dive. Freindly staff. Not expensive. No kitchen available so outside food is welcome...

Cool place with a cool bartender. She's really friendly and made me feel comfortable I'm up. She was gorgeous with lots of tattoos. Other than that I'm glad they have a pool table and a garden

Came here on a nice sunny Saturday afternoon. The bar has a divey feel, with a really great back porch for sitting outside. They pour a decent Guinness here, which isn't always easy to find! Solid spot in the neighborhood.

Great bar to unwind and have a couple of drinks. Bartenders are always friendly and down to earth. They have a backyard as well which is nice. Usually a really low key spot with genuine and friendly people.

Love this neighborhood dive! Had my birthday party there and they were so great! Pool table, backyard, cheap drinks. Nice staff. Go hang!

Went there for a wedding and the place was great! Great drinks! The little staff that were working in the bar did a very good job handling the crowded place!

weirdly, no beers on tap, just a few bottles of brooklyn brewery, sierra nevada etc. the back garden is ok if you are waiting around in the neighborhood, like say waiting for a seat at pok pok.
