American Elm Is Moving Into The Way Back’s Old Spot | Eater Denver

"Once housed at 4132 West 38th Avenue, The Way Back garnered a cult following in just 15 months despite the low-foot-traffic location between Berkeley and West Highland; it closed there last August and later reopened in February on Tennyson Street." - Josie Sexton

Yelp
My husband brought me here for my birthday, and it was one of my favorite meals ever! The staff was so friendly, and the restaurant itself is fancy in a cozy, but welcoming way. The cocktails were amazing! Strong, flavorful, and a great size. I LOVED my steak and fries - the steak was cooked exactly how I asked, and the fries were delicious, crispy, and salty. The steak was a quality that was easy to appreciate. The arugula salad on the side was pleasant as well. My husband loved his pasta and meatballs. The thicker noodles were perfect for the sauce, and the meatballs were deliciously cooked, large, and filling. Of course, we loved the whipped ricotta. The honey and parsley oil were perfect compliments to the cheese and buttery, well-toasted bread. We savored every bite. Last but not least, the chocolate mousse! It blew away expectations. It was thick, rich, and the berry and whipped cream went perfectly with it. Overall, I adored American Elm and was so pleased to spend my birthday there. I look forward to going back for future special occasions.

Yelp
This place had been on my list to try for a while and I wish I had came sooner! I went with a friend around 6:00 PM on a Friday and we were quickly seated on the patio. We didn't have a reservation but you can make them, We shared 3 appetizers and my favorite was the Deviled Eggs. The burrata appetizer was unique but not my favorite, it was more of a cheese bread ball, the pork belly was great and nicely presented. Very cute inside and outside. Only complaint was the server felt to be rushing us some, but they could have been having an off day. We'll definitely be back!

Yelp
American Elm is an excellent restaurant in the West Highlands neighborhood in Denver. It's everything you want in a neighborhood joint. They bring exceptional service, technique and quality to their food and cocktails in a laid back environment that caters to the neighborhood. What's cool about this spot is the vision behind the concept was born through the owners time living in the Williamsburg neighborhood in Brooklyn. Bob Reiter found it appealing because the neighborhood was an eclectic mix of artists and professionals, imports and old school neighborhood residents that created a new vibe for an American Bistro. They do what they do well. It's elevated fare in an inviting atmosphere. You get the feeling you're their most important guest. Kudos to this joint for doing it right. My Mai Tai seen in the photo was delicious and was served in that amazingly fun tiki glass. Everything we had was great. You should check em out if you're in the area. Salute

Yelp
Came here with some co-workers for a celebration and had a lovely time. I normally don't venture to this area of Denver, so it was nice to mix it up. We dined indoors, but their patio looked lovely and I can see it being a poppin' place when the weather is favorable. Waitstaff was not exceptional, but not bad. We had to ask multiple times for more water carafes which is a big pet peeve of mine - hydrate me, dang it! Food was yummy, but expensive. We started with lettuce wraps, I ordered the salmon for my main course, and we finished with the creme brulee and chocolate mousse. No complaints with the dishes in terms of taste - just a bit too high of a pricetag for overall value. *Zero Proof Review: AmElm was the first stop on my zero proof, mocktail, n/a journey and I must say, they set the bar high! A solid selection on n/a beers, wine and "spirit free" cocktails, which is (sadly) still uncommon these days. I went for their "Supertonic" because I'm a sucker for anything passion fruit and it was heckin' delicious. A bit on the pricier side, but I'd order it again in a heart beat. On the whole, if you're feeling fancy and want a good mocktail selection, give AmElm a whirl.

Yelp
Looking for a romantic date or double date night spot? American Elm's patio offers private, heated greenhouses that will have you enjoying a beautiful winter night, all the while cozy warm inside, sipping on fab cocktails & eating great food.  We arrived at American Elm and were seated in our cutie lil' greenhouse. Each greenhouse had their own space heater & speaker. Our server Drew was lovely - she was attentive and had great recommendations on the menu.  My favorite cocktail at American Elm continues to be The Pandan Chi Chi (a must order). The Pandan Chi Chi is made with Community Spirit Co. vodka, pandan, coconut, pineapple, & lime. This cocktail was visually stunning and tasted like a vanilla creamsicle with notes of pineapple & coconut. Tanya got the Metal Heard made with Uruapan Charanda & Rum Fire Jamaican rums, Clément Mahina coconut, pineapple, lime, bubbles. Smoky and Sweet - served on crushed ice in a Collins glass. The Portobello Wraps were made with bulgogi marinade, grilled portobello, bibb lettuce, carrot, sprouts, radish, cilantro, & toasted garlic chili oil. These veggie packed wraps were fresh, bright, & filled with savory portobellos. The Crispy Pork Belly was made with jalapeno creme, grilled seasonal fruit, pickled fresno chile, mustard seed, & cilantro. The pork belly was tender with a crispy outside layer. The smokiness of the pork was brightened by the seasonal fruit. The Artichoke Dip was made with three cheese blend, charred pepper, crostini, & crudites. This dip was solid - warm and cheesy with a delicate artichoke zing. The Deviled Eggs were made with smoked yolk, mustard seed, & house pork belly. The creamy, rich yolk filling was velvety texture and went well against the crunch of the pork - a mouthful of flavor. The Caesar Salad was made with romaine, roasted garlic croutons, cherry tomatoes, & parmesan crisp. American Elm makes all of their pasta in house, and you bet we were getting after it. The Duck Ragu Pappardelle was made with confit duck leg, burrata, pecorino, & basil. This was my favorite pasta of the night - the pappardelle was beautiful & generously coated in hearty rich sauce & smooth burrata. The Steak Frites were made with ribeye cap, bone marrow butter, arugula salad, & fries. The steak was cooked perfectly, and the bone marrow butter added a mouthwatering sweet, nutty flavor to the meat. The Creamy Casarecce was made with River Bear bacon, spring peas, local mushrooms, roasted garlic, & parmesan cream sauce. This savory pasta dish combined thick pasta, bacon pieces, & locally grown mushrooms which made for creamy and satisfying bites. The Lemon Maiale Rigatoni was made with sausage, spinach, heirloom tomatoes, confit garlic cloves, & parmesan. This pasta dish was characterized by creamy lemon butter sauce and a flavorful combo of Italian sausage and tender rigatoni. For dessert we had the Buttermilk Pie made with brown butter whip, nilla wafers, & strawberry gastrique and the Creme Brulee. A sweet ending to a fantastic meal!

Yelp
Came out during Winter to dine in there personal Greenhouse. It's cozy, cute, private and heated! You can also play your own music by syncing to the Bluetooth player they provide. Food was good, but a bit over priced. Portobello bulgogi was refreshing and flavorful. Loved the cocktail sauce for the shrimp. Also had their scallops which was cooked really well and quite rich!

Yelp
If I could give more than 5 stars, I would! I'm just mad at myself for taking so long to try this place. The food was amazing! The service was top notch and the ambience was super sweet. We got to sit outside in one of their heated greenhouses, which was perfect for a cold rainy night. It was exactly what I was looking for with a peaceful romantic dinner vibe. The details were exquisite. They had a Bluetooth speaker inside our little hut, so we could play our own music. We started with the burrata, which was amazing! I ordered the special, which was salmon, and it was so good! They have a great wine/beer/cocktail list and made a yummy mocktail for my sober husband. We will definitely be back! The vibe inside was hopping and energetic and the decor was great!!

Yelp
Wanted to try something new for our anniversary and was blown away by this experience. We reserved a greenhouse table, which to our surprise was a totally private table in a mini green house, equipped with a heater, a mini speaker to play our own music, and twinkly lights. For someone who loves eating out but does not love crowded spaces, this ambiance was unbeatable. Also very kid friendly. The oysters were my favorite dish of the night followed by the French dip. Our waiter, Zach, was great as well, very attentive. Overall unforgettable experience. Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
Stopped into American Elm for dinner with friends. We were in a catch-up mood so we chit chat and our server was great about giving us the freedom and space to do so. No pressure to order or to move quicker, he let us take our time and enjoy dinner. To share, we got the ricotta and pork belly. Both were tasty although they only give you a few pieces of bread with the ricotta. We asked for more bread and, note, they charge you an additional $5 for more bread. For entrees, we got the trout, chicken, and steak frites. I enjoyed the trout but man the chicken was SO salty. And that's coming from me who likes salt. Overall, it was a pretty decent dinner experience with a few dishes left to be desired. They do have a nice cocktail menu so I enjoyed some fun creations. Overall though it has a great vibe for a friends dinner, date, family dinner, whatever the occasion!

Yelp
I came here for my anniversary dinner and had high expectations as it had been recommended to me. Started with the oysters which were $2 each for their November special, good but the cherry sauce that came with it completely overpowered the flavor of the oyster. If I got again, would not use the cherry sauce. Then we had the Bibb salad which was a decent portion and the flavors were good but would say the lemon flavor took over the whole salad. Then we had the spinach dip which was good but was too liquidy. The lack of creaminess made it completely lose the flavors when dips the vegetables in. The duck ragu was SO flavorful and really what tied my experience all together. There was almost a good amount of duck meat! Ended with the crème brûlée which in itself is worth a visit back. Our waiter was great and attentive. Also loved the complimentary sparking water! Overall good experience!

Yelp
Haven't been since they open and so glad to be back. It's a beautiful restaurant. Solid HH, staff was super friendly and all the food was delicious!

Yelp
We had a lovely meal on the patio at American Elm. The food was tasty, service was friendly, helpful, and attentive, and the ambiance hit the right balance of elevated casual. The burrata fritters we're yummy, and I very much enjoyed my pan seared salmon with bright broccolini. The star of the meal, however, had to be dessert. We devoured the crème brûlée and the buttermilk pie. Both were delightful!

Yelp
I'm a savage. I destroyed this roasted half chicken like a fox in the coop. Discovered a buttery mound of spaetzle (like teardrops made of pasta dough) lurking beneath, so I polished that off too. Extra points for being the best Denver restaurant named after a tree and the best use of "American" as an adjective without getting all, you know, American about it. Top notch wine and cocktail menu, too.

Yelp
OMG yes and yes. First off the happy hour is on point. $7 shrimp cocktail, $11smoked deviled eggs and $7 wines and old fashions. The shrimp were gigantic and the mussels were so delicious I could have drank the leftover juice. I cannot wait to come back in the summer and sit outside in the beautiful patio area. So delicious!!!!
google avatar

Yelp
American Elm has been a neighborhood staple for years, and despite living nearby, I never took the time to stop in. Finally, I decided to check it out for happy hour, and to my pleasant surprise, this place is fantastic. I've only heard good things about American Elm, and now I understand why. The food was fantastic, the atmosphere was inviting, and Jen at the bar was incredibly friendly. I'll definitely be back, and I highly recommend everyone to give it a try!

Yelp
I love this place. It just doesn't get better when it comes to Denver patios. Theirs is huge and open and they have a gorgeous old tree in the center, strung with white lights to set the mood. Plus, they have a ton of raised beds with herbs and flowers throughout so you feel like you are dining in someone's backyard garden. I love it. The food slaps of course. They have staples that have been on there for quite some time including the burrata fritters, which are a personal fave. These are like crispy friend cheese bread balls with spicy aioli you can use for dipping. I also love their steak. which is always cooked perfectly and served with the best "smashed" potatoes. Their salads are amazing and their cocktails are divine. They have quite the cocktail list, organized by the flavors your feeling (light and crisp, dark and stormy). Their staff is also so kind and is asking questions and willing to help you in your decisions. They want you to be happy with your meal, drinks and experience and it shows. I absolutely love this spot and will continue to visit anytime I need a zen evening under the stars.

Yelp
Lovely service, delicious food and the little outside tents with fairy lights are just the cutest thing!
google avatar

Seth S.

Yelp
The food is wonderfully presented, and tastes just as wonderful. Service has always been quick and highly attentive. The ambiance in winter is a full force of Colorado feels and dark underground feeling that makes you love eating outside in a tent. Inside can be dreadfully loud.
google avatar

Katie N.

Yelp
I LOVED American Elm. Anywhere that does steak frites correctly is a win in my book! I really love the fancy-casual-candlelight ambiance that they give off here. I came here for a celebration and think I need to find another reason to celebrate soon.

Yelp
I love this place! What a cute date spot with a great menu. The drinks are amazing and the food is well put together! In the winter check out the heated tents!

Yelp
We had a really nice dinner here and some of our food was delicious, and I really liked my cocktails. Overall, the meal was very good. Service was excellent and attentive, and the vibe of the place is so so so cool! I feel like I need to go back and eat some other choices, as I wasn't crazy about the buratta fritters which really weren't burratta'y, but more like just fried dough, I didn't get it. Our main course, which we didn't eat a lot of was the Trout Almondine was fried to the point of being more like fried fish which made it really heavy. I really loved the shrimp which was in a garlic oil that was so delish and the shroom lettuce wraps were exceptional. I'm definitely coming back and ordering a little differently. It was a good meal and I'm ready to tour the menu and try some other dishes.

Yelp
We've been meaning to come here for YEARS! And finally made it last night. Chanced it by not making reservations for 4 people at 5pm on a Saturday. We were able to sit inside right where one of 2 garage doors were open, so it was the best of both indoor and patio worlds. Service was great, drinks and food were de-licious! We enjoyed the following: cherry bomb (my favorite of the evening!), old fashioned, highland heat (my 2nd favorite of the evening), reserve old fashioned, holy diver (little weird - almost egg nog like), and espresso martini made with rum (tied for my favorite). For nourishment, we started with crispy pork belly (yum!) and artichoke dip (super yum, with very fresh veggies!). Mains were mainly pasta: cacio e pepe (very peppery), carbonara (VERY tasty!), creamy casarecce (incredibly delicious but SO rich! I had to take half home), and steak frites. Couldn't leave without dessert: buttermilk pie. So decadent! We were treated, so I can't speak to value but I wouldn't hesitate to return. We all left very satisfied!

Yelp
The brown butter maple syrup on the French toast was enough to make me want to come back, though I might have to try the strawberry pancakes with rose syrup next time. Their brunch menu is pretty limited plus we arrived at noon and they had already ran out of some of their menu items. We got their french press coffee, banana french toast (it is was delicious!) and tater tots on the side, and a really delicious bloody Mary! The staff were really polite and accommodating, and it felt like the service was pretty organized. We made a reservation in advance, so wait time was no problem. Overall a good experience and would probably come back.

Yelp
First time at American Elm. I have to say that was probably the best chicken I've ever had in my life, period. They also have great sides, cocktails, etc. There are quite a few things I'd like to try there when I go back. I recommend neighborhood parking and the service was excellent.
google avatar

Sydney F.

Yelp
We went back for brunch!!! Sat outside before it got too hot (I'm so over this heat wave ). I got an iced tea with lime, which had a hint of fruit mixed in with the black tea. It was delicious and my glass never went empty. My partner got a mimosa, which also looked tasty. We both ordered the breakfast sandwich with tots (his with their special tots)! I was able to save half of my meal and eat it the following day. Pork belly was flavorful and the texture was amazing. If we go back for brunch, it will be difficult to try something new.

Yelp
I had a delicious dinner here last week with my husband and some friends. The overall vibe is a perfect hybrid between casual and upscale, with a beautiful patio that definitely doesnt make the restaurant feel like it's right off of a busy street. Our server was efficient and friendly and the menu was expansive. We had bone marrow, which had extremely large portions for the price compared to other restaurants! The fries are also delicious and they were not skimping on the portions. My favorite was the Burrata Fritters, which reminded me of Brazilian cheese bread. Will definitely be back to check out their Happy Hour!

Yelp
Service, 2 stars: I went for brunch with 3-4 friends on a Thursday and it was relatively empty but the service was unbelievably slow. It took them 20 minutes just to get us waters and take our order and then another 30-40 minutes to get our food out when there was a total of maybe 5 other parties at the restaurant. Getting the attention of the wait staff was almost impossible. Food, 3 stars: I ordered the basic breakfast and added on their house pork belly. The pork belly was nothing to write home about. The sweet potato waffle fries were half burnt and in-edible. Maybe their dinner menu and service is better but I would not recommend brunch. There are so many other places in Denver to check out.
google avatar

Courtland M.

Yelp
Cute place! Service was great. The lettuce wraps were too salty for our liking. Go with the whipped ricotta for an appetizer.
google avatar

Mark F.

Yelp
The place is great whether you are looking for a bar experience or a sit-down dinner. They do a HH that I would recommend going there doing. Specialty cocktails are discounted, they have an IPA for $5, and the $7 HH deviled eggs are ridiculously good (note only 4 in the serving). Bob Ross will ALWAYS be drawing on the TV screens (that is why I prefer sitting at the bar). Note this is a place to eat and drink, but not watch sports. I like someone who knows their identity. Reyna gave us perfect service and made our day with her personality and how on point she was. The French Dip is VERY high in my rankings, and worth the trip by itself. Overall, I give it a 4 as I think they should open earlier than 5pm during the week, but definitely recommend and see you there.
google avatar

Erin M.

Yelp
Came here for dinner and sat at the bar as it was the only available seating inside since it had just rained. The staff was awesome and took great care of my party of 4. There is a long cocktail list and they do a great job explaining each if you ask. I got the Even Cowgirls Get the Blues (mezcal butterscotch drink) and enjoyed how unique it was! For my meal, I was between some options and ended up getting the scallops which I later regretted. The dinner portion was so small and only 3 scallops that I ended up ordering some grilled bread as well. It was not worth the price at all. The staff offered to allow me to try another dish but I decided I had eaten enough. Everyone else enjoyed their food and loved the salmon!

Cassie W.

Yelp
Great good. Excellent service. A variety of good options for whatever dietary needs you have. Parking is easy. 10/10 recommend booking a table on the patio.
google avatar

Shruti J.

Yelp
I really wanted to like this place but our experience was subpar! This had been on my list for a while and I honestly expected more from this place. Drinks were good, nothing great and the apps were alright. The one thing we really liked was the crispy pork belly, bulgogi wraps were okay-ish - mind you they don't have bulgogi, these wraps have mushroom as their main ingredient and this item can really be misleading - read bulgogi marinade! They were pretty packed and we had to wait a while for someone to come take our order - service was slow. I might give this place another try after a few months.
google avatar

Elliot B.

Yelp
The first time I went here it was really good. However, the last time I went here back in February the food was bland and the service was more bland than the food. Could've been an off night, but probably won't risk spending $250 again for mediocre food and ok service.
google avatar

Kaitlyn S.

Yelp
Holy moly, I've been wanting to try this place for a while and I'm so happy I made it here! We didn't have reservations but luckily we got there around 4 on a Saturday so they were able to sit us, I would recommend having reservations though. Everything we ordered was so incredible. This was my second time trying bone marrow and having it pair with a jelly really elevated the taste. The cacio e Pepe was some of the best pasta I've had in Denver. The cocktails were lovely and the espresso martini was dark and delicious. American elm is something special and I will definitely be back soon!
google avatar

Erin B.

Yelp
American Elm was fabulous. The ambiance of the venue is great, we went on a Friday night and it was buzzing. The food was fantastic. They have a large drink menu with fun non-alcoholic drinks as well and a bunch of fun appetizers. We got the Burrata Fritters, Grilled Spanish Octopus, Spring Salad (to share), and Steak Frites to share (forgot to take a picture). Everything was great, we really enjoyed the food. The only reason we are giving it 4 stars is because the service was pretty slow. We would definitely come back and try more food! Loved it.

Yelp
Went here for Valentine's Day 2022. A solid 4.5/5 star experience! I really cannot say enough good things about the service. From hostess to bartender to server, every person we interacted with was so kind and helpful. Maybe because it was love day, maybe because they are all just genuinely nice people who found a perfect career in the service industry since they're such "people people." Either way, we had an excellent experience. We showed up a bit early for our reservation, so we were fine waiting, but the hostess offered to sit us at the bar while we waited since some spots had just opened up. We ordered a big VDay cocktail to share between the two of us. It was tasty and adorable, even had floating candy hearts in it. When we sat down, we elected to order from the main menu even though the pre fixe menu for VDay looked tasty too. It just seemed liked too much food. We started with the grilled octopus. This really set the stage for the meal. I'd go back again and again simply for this dish. We ate it so fast that I didn't have time to take a pic. *sorry* But that just means you'll have to go try it for yourself! Next, we ordered a couple oysters and some bread from a local shop (I think our server said the shop is called The Grateful Bread?). The oysters were good, but the bread was simply divine. Nice and fluffy, but also crunchy in the best way. Our main dishes were scallops and duck. My guy loved his duck. He said it's some of the best duck he has ever eaten in Denver. My scallops we yummy, but I do have to say that the veggies and sauce were the star of the show. And the scallops seems just the tiniest bit overdone. Our server recommended a red wine to pair with the duck and a white to pair with the scallops. She absolutely knocked it out of the park with her pairings. So so good! For dessert we went with the pear dessert. It was a pear mousse with a light cake, a rich drizzle, and macaron to accompany it. Listen y'all, I am drooling just thinking about this dessert. Again, another dish that demands I go back to American Elm to have more! Overall, great experience for our first time here. Amazing, friendly staff. Solid food and drink offerings. Don't miss out!

Yelp
The food and vibes were immaculate! My bestie and I went for a little gals dinner. Our waitress, Drew, provided great service and made some helpful food and drink recommendations. We started with the whipped ricotta, and it was so good. Light and tangy with honey and parsley oil. We also had the seared salmon, scallops, and shared some smashed potatoes. Then we topped it off with a buttermilk pie. It's rich but in a nice, summery kind of way. The special cocktail was excellent, too. The environment was lovely. We sat inside because it was still a bit hot when we arrived. But the patio is so pretty, and it was packed when we left. Perfect for a romantic date night. The bar is also a little moody, and I want to come back in the winter for a cocktail.

Yelp
Very good food and nice portions. Good to try to get reservations first. Parking is a bit tight but food is worth it. They also offer sparkling water!

Yelp
Good food and drinks! Sat at the bar and enjoyed Bob Ross on a snowy night! Bar tenders were attentive and kind.

Yelp
Great food, service and options. Drinks are great and they have their own Elijah Craig pick. Check it out for sure.

Yelp
I have been here several times, and it continued to be one of my favorite date night spots in Denver! Not only is their garden patio peaceful and beautiful, but their cocktails and food are phenomenal. Hands-down some of the best food in town. My top recs: 1) Parent Pickup cocktail with passionfruit, tea, singani 63, lemon, mint (available as a glass or pitcher) 2) Bulgogi Wraps with beautifully grilled portobello mushrooms, lettuce, carrot, sprouts, radish, toasted garlic chili oil -- and we added shrimp, but it would be great even vegetarian 3) Roasted Half Chicken with perfectly-crispy skin that's super juicy on the inside after being bribed for almost 36 hours (the star of the show!) 4) Ribeye Cap with bone marrow butter that melts in your mouth -- and for only $29, compared to a similar cut at STK for $72 5) Buttermilk Pie dessert, which reminds me of a bougie strawberry shortcake in the best way 6) the best Espresso Martini you'll ever have

Yelp
American Elm sits quietly on 38th just a few blocks from Tennyson. I've whizzed past it so many times. On a rainy Sunday night, we made a group reservation for five. We had a pleasant experience, with room for improvement. The neighborhood eatery and bar boasts a killer patio that yearns for bright, blistering sunshine. Patio sippers are in season, just not on the gloomy evening we chose. They are still taking precautions seriously, even though the mask mandate has been lifted. They have a fairly extensive cocktail menu that will take some time to make a secure decision. I landed on the Old Cuban ($11), which had rum, mint, lime, bitters and it was pretty good. I then switched over to a Cabernet Sauvignon once I knew I was ordering a steak. Steak Frites ($29) -- You have of your choice of Ribeye Cap (7oz.) or Center Cut (9oz.). I'm a "more meat" kind of guy, but you simply cannot pass on the fatty cap. Ultimately, this was the right decision. Paired with the Bone Marrow Butter made for a religious/animalistic feasting experience. There's something to be said about getting your steak cooked the way you ordered it. As far as the Fries and Arugula Salad were concerned, this left more to be desired. I upgraded to Truffle Parm Fries, and though they looked good, they were pretty bland. The salad was a pile of arugula on a small plate and just didn't do it for me. Service was a bit of a mixed bag. The hostesses/runners were very sweet and personable. Our main server wasn't our favorite. He was stern and demanding at first, but warmed up throughout the meal. Overall, we racked up quite the tab between the five of us and I'm not sure our experience was completely worth what we paid for. I'm not running back by any means, but I'd give them a shot down the line!

Yelp
Excellent service by Alisha as well as others throughout our 2 hour time here including getting new utensils with each course which showed class. We ate outside and enjoyed ourselves. Center Cut Ribeye Frites: both were cooked perfectly to our requests and were delicious. $29 and a fair price. Substituting truffle fries cost $2 more, or sub sweet potato fries $1 more both were delicious as well. The 3 Seared Scallops were very good. $29 The Bucatini Carbonara was good. $24 Mixed Green salads were nice $10 (no extra charge for splitting which was a plus). Pork Belly with peaches appetizers was nice however for the price of $17 we felt it was small. Grilled Octopus was wonderful however don't expect much as far as volume. Enough for 2 people to have a taste. $15 Happy Hour drinks all were nice $6 each. We were surprised and disappointed to see 1.5% added to our bill. They called it "Living Wage 1.50%" On their bill they showed a "Touchless Payment Option" which we tried 3 times unsuccesfully to use. Hopefully that will either get resolved or no longer showing on their bill. No employee was wearing a mask. Overall we were happy.

Yelp
I was in town for a conference and I came here for dinner with a group of work colleagues. They have a very nice patio with heaters so we sat outside. Our server was great and offered some good recommendations. We shared a few salads and appetizers to start. The beet salad and shrimp skillet were my personal favorites! We had the cowboy cut delmonico as an entree, along with the spicy cavatelli pasta. Both were delicious and the portions were generous, especially for a group of our size. We also had the Brussels and mashed potatoes as sides, also very good. I definitely recommend this restaurant if you are in the area!

Yelp
Good food, excellent cocktails. The decor is casual but nice. Will happily return, highly recommended.

Yelp
Staff was great, genuinely went above and beyond to make sure we were happy. Starters and drinks were perfect and really enjoyed the vibe. Many reasons to come back

Yelp
Love the vibe of this place, and the food was delicious! I wasn't feeling super hungry, so I just got the heirloom tomato salad (no cucumber) and it was so good -- never had almond vinaigrette before! My boyfriend got the steak frites and said it was one of the best steaks he ever had (they also gave him a tonnnn of fries). Also interesting that they give you the choice of ribeye cap or center cut for that dish (for interested parties, he got the ribeye cap at the server's recommendation). Would definitely return, if we lived in the area!

Yelp
The food here was decent, but overpriced. I honestly had higher hopes for it as the location is great and it's always looked cute. The patio is a great spot to dine in the summer, they just need to be more staffed so they can actually sit people out there.

Yelp
Four of us had a very enjoyable dinner here. Two of us got the steak Frites and the other two shared a deep fried chicken. Loved the 7oz steak, all I wanted and very tasty. Fries were nicely done and crunchy. We did also have some appetizers that included the deviled eggs and the beef carpaccio. Cocktails were very good, my favorite being the "house classic" Under the Elm with a subtle banana flavor that rocked. Service was attentive. There was even an available free parking lot next-door. The only downside was the cost-- $90 per person with tip and tax. But we had a good time and felt like it was worth it. I would return.
