AWESOME PLACE My wife and I went to Nashville with a friend couple. We spent three days over a weekend in town. We wanted to experience the music scene in town, as well as food and some cocktail bars. We expected to be impressed by the Honky Tonks in town. And we were hoping that the Speakeasy bars and regular cocktail bars in town were same calibre as other towns/cities. We found this place and wanted to try breakfast/brunch here. There was a short wait before we got seated. They have a nice selection of food and beverages. We tried out four different courses and a few drinks: peach Bellini, Bloody Mary, Irish coffee etc. the decor is WWII and post WWII. Really cool. The food is well tasting. The service great, polite and professional. Definitely try it out.

Google
If you are in Nashville Midtown, this place deserves a shot. A place that has an old time house feel gives their take on southern charm and food. The food and service were great. I had there loaded breakfast potatoes and the breakfast quesadilla. Wife had the pancake plate with blueberries added. We started with the buttermilk biscuits. Very good….lite and fluffy. Overall flavor was there. I would like to try the classic breakfast food next time.

Google
We got 2 pancakes, eggs, bacon, and hashbrowns. The pancakes were good but overall just good not great. I also got the strawberry lemonade which was insanely sweet. I had to add like a whole glass of water to it to make it not overwelmingly sweet

Google
It’s got a cute diner/ bar vibe. The food was good, with big portions. We ordered two breakfasts and everything was hot and as expected. The chicken was crispy but the potatoes were not. We would eat here again. Service was good. Water was promptly refilled.

Google
Ate breakfast here twice in 4 days and it was wonderful!! The triple berry jam and biscuits was fantastic and the blueberry pancakes the best I have ever had! I also tried grits for the first time ever (I'm a northern girl) and was impressed. I'd go back again!

Google
Super cool place. Chicken and waffles are great and the Bloody Mary with Bacon is just the right amount of spicy and everything was delicious. The bartender and everyone are so friendly. Glad I chose this place given all the options, I think this was the right choice.

Allison Hunter

Google
Interesting mom and pop location with great food. A little on the pricier side, but it is in downtown Nashville. Bartender was super sweet and attentive. If you’re a breakfast foodie, then definitely make it a point to stop here.

Google
Amazing food and kind service. Olivia took great care of us and the food came out hot and quick. We had the brunch quesadilla and prime rib hash. There was not a shortage of food on our plates.

Keith C.

Yelp
Food was incredible and great service! Prime rib hash is amazing. Big country breakfast was great!

Yelp
My friend who is a Nashville resident had been wanting to come here for some time for breakfast, so we went on my last day in town. Overall, I really loved the decor and the atmosphere of this place. The old wartime photos and posters added to the buildings aesthetic. We waited about 1 hour and once seated, we probably waited about 20 min in total to get our orders taken. The waitress did forget my coffee a few times but ended up taking it off of my bill as an apology for making us wait so long. The food (I got one of the breakfast platters) was delicious, however the ham was incredibly salty. I couldn't tell if it was just my palette or if it really was super salty but there was enough food that I didn't even really need the ham. I'd definitely recommend going here and trying the food if you have time to wait

Beth P.

Yelp
Very cute spot. The service was perfectly executed. The food was delicious. We had biscuits, gravy, jam, chicken, waffles, potatoes, and candied bacon. It was all cooked to perfection.

Jasmine C.

Yelp
I have been trying for so long to come and get a taste of 417. I finally did just that! Do recommend getting there rather early for the sake of the wait time. They DO NOT accept reservations. We went around 9:50am on a Sunday and had to wait for 20 minutes to be seated. As the morning went on wait times were a little longer. Prepare accordingly. Service is prompt and food came out fresh!! We ordered.. Crispy chicken pancake combo 5/5 Pancake combo 5/5 Banana Foster 5/5 Bloody Mary 3/5- they over did it on the amount of pepper in it. Pancakes are super fluffy and a decent size. You'll most likely have leftovers. Their portion sizes are decent and enough for prob two if you don't have a big appetite. Food was amazing! I'm not sure you could go wrong with anything on this menu. I will be back to try the breakfast quesadillas and fresh squeezed strawberry lemonade.

Jeffrey C.

Yelp
Great spot for a quick, relatively inexpensive breakfast in Nashville. Good and drinks are both good. Service is great too. We have been here twice and had Olivia both times. Great server.

Linda R.

Yelp
This is the kind of breakfast place I wish I had near my home. Delicious. Homemade everything- biscuits to jam. I had a breakfast sandwich with home fries . Home fries were delicious and had grilled onions with them. Biscuits were soft and just out of the oven. Service was prompt and friendly. Coffee kept flowing throughout breakfast so I was super happy. Get here early or expect a little wait for a table. Nice benches outside if you do need to wait a bit.

Borce A.

Yelp
Great service, huge portions, good food. Definitely come here for some good diner food that will leave you stuffed.

Paige T.

Yelp
Found this place across from our hotel for brunch, and the atmosphere and food and drinks were the best!! We sat at the bar, and the service was excellent!! Morgan, our bartender, was the best!! So sweet and made the best drinks. We had Tito's with OJ and cranberry juice. They are also voted the best, bloody Mary! It was awesome!! The food was so good! We ordered the big country breakfast and split it. It was perfect! 3 eggs, 2 biscuits, sausage, ham, bacon, and homestyle potatoes!! The homemade jam was to die for!! The gravy was good, too! The restaurant is so cool, the decor and location are awesome! All the staff are friendly and welcoming!!

Yelp
I truly wish that I had better things to say about the FOOD at 417 Union. So let me start with everything else. 417 Union is a charming blast from the past. The outer building and the contents within are rife with aged brick and remnants of a time long gone. A history lesson not soon to be forgotten. The restaurant itself is full of back rooms, and is a multi-storied-once-functioning, mansion waiting to tell a story. History lines the walls and I'm here for all of it. However, the food was boring and bland and left a lot to be desired. It seems that they are leaning on the history of the building to replace flavor and invention in its food and it's sad. Hubby had Anthony's favorite, which consisted of two eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, gravy and biscuit. He said nothing tasted special but the bacon and gravy was good. I had a bloody Mary and that was good. I had the Breakfast Sandwich, minus the herb mayo and cheese and it was just ok. It didn't have any seasoning and had zero pizzazz. The bread wasn't conducive for a warm sandwich, and there was nothing that made it something greater than what I cook at home everyday. I want to like the food here because of the building, history and nostalgia but in my opinion, this is just a poor place to eat with a museum like atmosphere. Sorry.

Karen B.

Yelp
The Pancake Pantry across from our hotel had a long line and I had bookmarked 417 Union so off we went and I am glad we did! Small place, honoring war heroes. Excellent food! The breakfast sandwich had great flavor and I liked that the bun didn't get soggy with the fried eggs so you could actually eat it as a sandwich (but you do need a few napkins ). Hubby had pancakes and they were huge and fluffy. Would highly recommend this place for breakfast!!

Sara K.

Yelp
Exactly what you'd expect from an old fashioned diner type spot. Their menu consistent or some staples: country side potatoes, eggs, ham, bacon, pancakes, etc. I got the pancake combo and my husband got the anthony's special. The cons: sausage was burnt at the bottom, potatoes were inconsistent (half were undercooked) and lacked salt/seasoning Pros: asked for eggs over medium and they were cooked perfectly. Pancakes were tasty and fluffy - the best part of the meal for sure. Service was quick and even though they were busy we only had to wait 15 minutes for a table. Lastly, we enjoyed a good ol' cup of diner coffee. Personally I probably wouldn't come back again but if you like a quick in and out experience near broadway it ain't that bad.

Leigh B.

Yelp
Mike was an amazing server. The food was beyond incredible and the atmosphere was very historic and interesting. Be sure and buy some mixed berry jam to take home.

Kris L.

Yelp
The food was amazing, service was wonderful and the restaurant was very cozy! I had the Blueberry Lemon Curd Pancake Combo, absolutely delicious! I would definitely recommend!

Raymond S.

Yelp
Good food (breakfast), great country service. Olivia was a delight and full of energy-we waited for nothing. Armed forces are honored throughout the restaurant. One issue is the restaurant is not ADA compliant. If you are in a wheelchair, you're not getting in, stairs as soon as you get through the front double doors.

Aja F.

Yelp
This is a great place to come eat at when visiting Nashville. Lindsey was the best server. She was awesome. The food was amazing and the atmosphere was like a great social gathering. I will most definitely be back to enjoy more great food.

Joanna M.

Yelp
There is street or paid lot parking only. We went early in the morning during the weekend so we were sat right away. The music gave a chill vibe and the decor is old time military memorabilia. Our server was friendly and checked in often. I had the prime rib hash, hash isn't something I normally order. It was good, the prime rib was cut like shaved beef and I was thinking it would be more like chunks of prime rib. It was good but not sure it was worth the $26 for the dish.

J P.

Yelp
Very neat, cozy place on our Nashville visit for breakfast. Great food and Bloody Mary's. Great service... our waiter told us jokes. It did take us a while to be seated. Once we sat, service was fast and food hit the spot. The decor on walls is interesting/vintage.

John M.

Yelp
Great spot for breakfast. Pleasant staff, good service and great offerings. Good location from nearby hotels.

Joe R.

Yelp
I can't say enough about the lemon blueberry pancakes! Cooked perfectly, super doughy, and the lemon drizzle was just the right amount of sweet without seeming too sugary. Our server was kind and apologetic when she didn't need to be at all! Food arrived quickly and disappeared just as fast. The diner was a bit small but still had just as much space as you could need to have a very well run restaurant. Loved it!

Brensi M.

Yelp
This is a nice, cute place for breakfast or brunch. The decor goes well with the theme. The drinks and food were good, but definitely overpriced. We ordered a Bloody Mary which was $15 on the menu, the waitress did not ask if we wanted bacon, and when she brought it it had the bacon. We knew that was an up charge, but didn't make a big deal about it. Our food came out fairly quick. The prime rib was tasty but greasy it wasn't great for the price. When we got our bill the price bloody mary was $20 which was not the price on the menu. Overall good experience food was decent, just be attentive to your bill vs advertised price.

Amanda-lee P.

Yelp
Amazing. Best breakfast of our trip. Everything else pales in comparison. Unique and flavorful. Our whole group loved their meals

Niki L.

Yelp
417 Union had great service and great food! Mike was our server and he was so welcoming. My boyfriend and I ordered the prime rib hash, and Mike suggested we put sriracha on it, which was a game changer!! Definitely have your prime rib hash the "Mike's way". We also enjoyed the biscuit and the in-house jam (which only has 6 ingredients!!). The jam was so amazing that we took an 8 oz. jar of the jam with us. The biscuit was the perfect amount of buttery, flaky, and moist-- I do not think I will ever have another biscuit as delicious as this, same for the jam. The biscuit is amazing enough alone to come back to 417 Union. I would definitely recommend this place and I look forward to the day when I come back!!

Trinity B.

Yelp
We found this place and decided to try it because it was really close to our hotel and it had good reviews. We got seated right away on a late friday morning. Our waitress was great and very friendly. We ordered the eggs to order as well as the omelette 417 and both were absolutely delicious. The ambiance was very nice and calm. The restaurant had a lot of cool pictures and war memorabilia as well.

Sophie Jane K.

Yelp
First of all, best biscuit I've ever eaten in my life. Next time I go I'm getting the plate of biscuits appetizer. The eggs were good, fruit was good, 12/10

Schyler D.

Yelp
Scrumptious little gem in downtown Nashville! Very homely feel complemented by homely food. The breakfast quesadilla was everything I was hoping for. The chorizo tasted excellent and the whole thing was a great mixture of flavors. We also got the candied bacon which was so good. the bacon was perfectly cooked and the syrup on it was the right sweetness to contrast the saltiness of the bacon. Lastly we also got the biscuits and jam/jelly. Their homemade jelly is wonderful, you can taste the freshness.

Michael R.

Yelp
Great southern breakfast. Recommend the Big Country with ham, sausage, bacon and 3 eggs. The coffee is also great. Olivia was our server. She was friendly and attentive. The biscuits are fluffy and the homemade jam really set off the meal. Thank you for a wonderful breakfast.

Chris W.

Yelp
Our first trip to Nashville a few years ago we thought we'd found a piece of breakfast heaven. Then time faded and we considered that to be a whim. Well, we came back to see. WOW, we were right! We love this place! If you want a fabulous breakfast in Nashville, you must try 417 Union. The hospitality is un-matched, the food is delicious, and the jelly, phenomenal! Be sure to buy a jar for home!

John D.

Yelp
Another great breakfast/brunch at 417 Union. Their Bloody Mary's and Candied Bacon appetizer are top notch. Get there early or expect to wait in line. We beat the rush and got seated quickly. The service was great.

Hathaway J.

Yelp
The newspapers on the walls was a nice touch. Get the potatoes loaded and the bacon. Great place for food after a big night out on Broadway.

Chad C.

Yelp
I was told I should come visit this place . Said the candy Bacon was a must have... I don't get it. It was just syrup poured over the top. Normal breakfast. Nothing stood out like it was killer. I'd eat there again. Service was on point. Waitress was very nice and attentive. Inside had some cool decor and the pictures were kinda cool . Outside was an attention grabber

Zach P.

Yelp
Stopped by for a quick Sunday brunch and sat at the bar. Bartender Mike was pleasant and accommodating with great recommendations. The spot had a good ambiance with exposed brick/industrial vibe. Chicken and waffles were very good. I would go back when back in town.

Zoraida K.

Yelp
Brunch was very good. Service was a bit "new" but we went on a "snow" day so we took it easy. I would go back.

Nolan P.

Yelp
Food is Great! Service is Swell! Ambiance is Fantastic and Terrific! Thank You 417 Union, it was delicious!

Michael B.

Yelp
We went and our servers name was Ian. He was attentive and the food came out correctly. Unfortunately I forgot to take photos of it. Kinda expensive for just an okay taste however.

Teresa S.

Yelp
This place is so cute and convenient food w Delicious everything we even bought biscuits to go and Brought them back to CA

Elizabeth P.

Yelp
In town visiting and daughter recommended this place love the atmosphere vibe inside the food was great we had eggs bacon pancakes omg the pancakes were amazing

Daniel E.

Yelp
A spectacular recommendation by my friends at Hotel Indigo, because 417 Union was as good as it gets for a breakfast experience. Great atmosphere and a lot of tributes to the past within the entryway sets the tone for a fun visit. Awesome humorous murals outside the building prepped us for a fun trip. Luckily had a limited wait on a Monday morning, and hit the jackpot with getting Mike C as our server, because he totally rocked from start to finish. Thank you, Mike, for spot-on recommendations! We LOVED the food. Had the crispy fried chicken breakfast platter and the Pancake Platter (lemon blueberry), and they were amazing. Side of grits, oh yeah. Fresh fruit that was delicious. And the candied bacon...simply great. This place was so darn good, a complete dining experience, and what a wonderful setting. I went to some special places on my Nashville sojourn, and 417 Union was among the best!

Sabrina C.

Yelp
Food (4/5): We got the Crispy Chicken Breakfast and Country Fried Steak. Both meals were good but the gravy was very thin and kinda grossed me out. The eggs were unseasoned, so I had to season that with the salt and pepper on the table... and ended up dunking it in the jam that they provided. The steak was good, lots of flavor. Biscuit (5/5): Buttery, dense, flavorful. It was an amazing biscuit and would get again in a heartbeat. Ambiance (2/5): It has very weird decorations... it was all civil war based... they had a North side and a South side... pictures defined the sides... Then they had a "Founding Farmers Recipe" book right next to our table. We didn't understand the placements and decor choices with random books. It was also extremely cold in there... couldn't wait to leave to warm up in the Nashville sun. Service (3/5): I think our waitress kept forgetting about us. We didn't get any water refills, she didn't come over to see how things were going, and we cleaned up our table in hopes to get her attention for the bill... still took 10 mins after we sat with stacked plates to get the check, and the place was NOT full either. She was nice though. Parking (1/5): It's Nashville parking... it sucks... you have to pay everywhere if it's not after 6pm during the week or Sunday. We took a shuttle there, so we didn't have to deal with it.

Dave F.

Yelp
Pretty cool atmosphere and our first time. We had a party of 8 and they were able to seat us right away. Alcohol served after 10am, which was perfect. I had the prime rib hash, with 3 eggs, potatoes n toast. Yum. The chicken n waffles were amazeballs.

andrea c.

Yelp
It was amazing the country breakfast with biscuits and gravy and eggs and potatoes and ham and bacon was all delicious.

Heidi H.

Yelp
Interesting historic building with good home style type food. Good service. Overall, great experience.

Debbie O.

Yelp
Food was great ! Waitress was great she was helpful and engaging ! It was a very warm and comfortable atmosphere.

Kyle M.

Yelp
We were doing a segway tour & our guide pointed out 417 Union as a must stop for breakfast. When a local gives a recommendation, you should always listen & we were so glad we did. We went for breakfast, had a short 15-20 min wait & were seated. Our server was super friendly & very quick with drinks, menus, etc. We opted for a mix of things & everything was good. The regular bacon was good, candied bacon was just ok. Chicken & plain waffles were ok but not great. There was def one standout. The Biscuits & Gravy might have been the best I'd ever had, so much so that I ordered some to go & ate them for dinner that evening. My only gripe was it appeared to have one single bathroom, very tiny, so people were waiting to use it. I'll keep it simple, 417 Union is a great spot for breakfast in downtown Nashville. See my photos of all our food.

Jason P.

Yelp
Wow. Amazing breakfast. Some of the best pancakes I have ever had. Eggs cooked perfectly and maple bacon was so tasty. About $20 but so worth it. Has a cool old bar feel. Server was great and service was fast. Highly recommend folks.

Cheryl M.

Yelp
My teenage son considers himself a connoisseur of chicken and waffles and says these were the best he's ever had. He loved them so much that we had to go back again 2 days later so he could have them again. The rest of us had a variety of items including the biscuits and gravy, eggs, bacon, steak and eggs, and their homemade mixed berry jam. All were delish! The only thing might've been better than the food was the service. We were seated right away on both visits and both servers we had were super pleasant. We highly recommend 417 Union and will visit again next time we're in Nashville.

Lucy C.

Yelp
Food is delicious and freshly made. Atmosphere was great. We had the chicken and waffles with a side of gravy. Delicious.

Ron S.

Yelp
Good food, quick service and fantastic southern hospitality! Olivia, our server, was great and checked in to make sure we didn't need anything. As the restaurant filled up, she did not forget about us. Food was prepared exactly as ordered. Grits were very good and the southern gravy was enjoyable.

A H.

Yelp
This place had a line out of the door !! The service was great and the atmosphere reminds you of an old school inner city pub, but really really small. The food was fired fast and we enjoyed our food and our server! Must try's are the short rib hash and that million dollar bacon!!!!!!!!! The homemade jam and fresh squeezed strawberry lemonade were just the cherry on top!

Ben S.

Yelp
Despite the crazy prices here, the food is solid and the staff are over-the-top awesome. A great little experience that makes a solid breakfast with huge portions. Would I go back on my own? Probably not. Would I go if someone offered, absolutely.
