Great sushi on a truck. They present sushi in a uniquely Texas way. Everything is great and the specials are better!

If you are ordering via the website/ fulfillment via DoorDash, you will be charged and Texas Sushiko will not receive the order** I had made all the errors above, and as a courtesy, the gentlemen who work there fulfilled my order immediately and gave me a complimentary handroll. THE ORDER: I tried the Spam, Hamachi, and Salmon handrolls, along with the Frito Pie poke. Unfortunately, everything felt pretty basic and overpriced, despite how beautifully presented it was. Good sushi/handrolls are never overpowered by flavor, but in this case, the seasoning was very subtle. The Frito Pie poke was essentially a small poke bowl with tiny bits of tuna, pico de gallo, and Frito chips.

We were at The Yard on St Elmo Rd. and stumbled upon an awesome surprise Texas Sushiko inside Texas Sake. What a fun combo! Texas Sushiko has fun booths decorated with Japanese lanterns and the dog-friendly atmosphere made for a great experience. Ordering was easy using a laptop, and the wait for food was reasonable. The staff were friendly and helpful. The Frito pie, a weirdly satisfying combo of poke and Fritos, is a must-try! We sampled a couple of hand rolls (salmon for $8 and hamachi for $14) which were fresh but a bit pricey for their size, and the chicken skewers were awesome, though the meatball skewer was a bit salty. To complete our meal, we enjoyed a flight of sparkling sake and a frozen ginger yuzu sake from Texas Sake. We will definitely be back when we're in the area!

Another steak dinner masterpiece! Perfectly seasoned and cooked to midrare. Homemade caesar with chili crunch - yummmmm! Call ahead to confirm they will have it on Thursdays. From the owner on my receipt: "A steak from Texas Sushiko, Grilled perfectly just so, Tender and juicy, a savory delight, Satisfying your cravings through the night. How does this order make you feel?"

Delusionally overpriced and the whole no to-go thing is so pretentious. Sushi quality is just basic nothing special.

Awesome concept! We loved the idea of a yakitori omakase. Sushiko recently revamped their dining concept and they've moved from their food truck to inside the sake distillery to serve omakase instead. We were lucky enough to snag last minute soft opening reservations and really enjoyed our meal. Although they did serve a lot of chicken skewers during the beginning of the experience, the cost of the soft opening was fairly cheap so I did not mind that they did that. The highlights of the meal were the duck breast, chicken meatball, lobster, and shiso ice cream!! All were super yummy. We also enjoyed their sake as well. We will be back soon.

Friday night takeout and everything was amazing. The surprise was the Spam (who knew it tasted that good?!!). The kids and I demolished it all in 10 minutes and have the empty boxes to prove it!

Absolutely love this spot. The handrolls are sooo fresh and sooo tasty. Handrolls: King Crab - 5/5 Spam - 5/5 Pork Belly - 5/5 Salmon - 5/5 Bluefin Tuna - 5/5 Scallop - 5/5 The spam and king crab were definitely my favorites. But all the handrolls are amazing. I've been here several times and it never disappoints. Awesome food truck.

This is a great food truck with fantastic food all around. I've gone many times and I especially love bringing friends, because the concept of open face sushi hand rolls is innovative and the execution using very fresh fish and umami flavors is impeccable. Parking - there's a huge lot next to multiple warehouses, it's often full but usually I end up finding a spot. Seating - the truck itself has two high tables, but there is plenty more seating in the brewery next door. They welcome Sushiko customers and have self serve water as well. Corn Ribs - these are amazing, they have such a great smokey salty flavor. You can share 1 for two people. Definitely a must get. My favorite sushi roll is the salmon, it has an incredible yuzu flavor and is so silky smooth. I've also tried the bluefin tuna and salmon skin, also both very good. Personally I don't think the hamachi, scallop and king crab are as impressive to me. They also come with a hefty price tag, but if you want to try them anyway, by all means, can't really go wrong with anything on their menu.

Tried the salmon, blue fin and spam hand rolls. All three were delicious. The tuna and blue fin were very fresh. The sushi rice was just the right texture and flavoring. Spam hand roll was also yummy. Spam is an acquired taste but if you're from Hawaii then it's mandatory to love it. There's outdoor seating or you can sit indoors at Texas Sake. If I were in the area I would def go again.

I was visiting the Texas Sake place and always wanted to try this spot out. I think I wanted to try their Frito pie but they sold out so I feel like that might be one of their popular menu items and will have to come back to try it. I got some shishito peppers which was a decent amount for $8 and easily shared among 3 other people. The hand rolls were pretty hefty but prepped like an open face taco which felt kinda messy/hard to pick up. Both hand rolls were also about $8, which was their cheaper options. They were pretty tasty and I enjoyed the salmon one more. If you don't like kimchi, you might not enjoy the pork belly one but I thought it was nice. Only one person working the truck but I thought he was pretty fast in getting out the orders. This is a nice spot if you're in the area and craving lighter options

The food was amazing! I loved the Frito Pie and the chicken skewers. I would definitely recommend this for some interesting combinations that are highly flavorful.

Wow! What a place! Sushi tacos? Seriously? They were fantastic! I could have eaten one of each! And the frito pie!!! What a delicious mix! A little crazy but very much worth it! Probably the best I tried!!! Everything was delicious!!! We were a group of six! I wanted to try this place for the longest time but since it is a kind of a drive for me it took me some time. The guy who took our order was very patient and explained everything, they took our number and texted when the order was ready! Perfect!!! It is a food truck but they should be opening a restaurant soon because it is soooo goood!!!

I've been avoiding this place since their opening last year for the fear that I would hate it. I finally gave it a chance today... low and behold... Total abomination of what handrolls are. The price is ridiculous for what you get. One of the main ingredients of a hand roll is the seaweed. The seaweed is extremely low quality: thin, faded green, chewy (not the chewy from when it gets soaked with sauce, the kind of seaweed that never had any crisp to it ever). Scallop roll had 0 flavor. The corn riblets concept just pisses me off. The rest of what we had was edible and overpriced. If you wanna try it, have at it but don't say I didn't warn you.

This place is a food truck located in a park full of bars and eateries. The sushi tacos are so good! I ordered the spam, scallop, salmon, and tuna. The yuzu sauce on the salmon is especially great!

to begin, I saw the reviews that said the rice was way too much vinegar, and so I paid attention to that as I eat my sushi rolls and tasted very little vinegar. So disregard the negative reviews about that, because they've clearly fixed the issue. I got their tuna roll, and their salmon roll, and the tuna on the tuna roll looked absolutely beautiful. I had these incredible marbles and dark red pieces on the roll that made me feel validated for paying $15 for it. I will say while the tuna was delicious, I did want something a little fresh, maybe a taste of lemon or so to cut through. I am normally not the biggest fan of salmon rolls, I enjoy them, but tuna has always been my favorite fish, so I was really surprised when I could not get enough of the salmon roll. It didn't taste overly oily and I didn't get that overwhelming fishiness that you can sometimes get with a salmon roll, and it was super fresh and there was a lot of flavor and I was really happy with it and would definitely go back to the sushi truck to order two more, or three. also, the employees were really sweet and made our rolls in a very timely manner and the bar that it's right outside of seemed super cool and while I'm not a huge fan of sake, the ambience there seemed awesome, and so many sake options that i would be down to go and try some to see if my mind can be changed. the pairing of a sake bar and sushi truck is perfect for a sunday or saturday afternoon if you want to turn your meal into an experience.

How is it possible for someone to not give Texas Sushiko 5 stars! I've been dining at Texas Sushiko at Texas Sake for months now, and since my first bite it instantly became my favorite sushi joint in town. This may be the most epic unknown sushi joint in the country right now because they're doing truly incredible omakase style bites at a price every sushi lover can afford. From their spam roll to their wagyu roll you cannot go wrong. Just writing this review makes me want to go in when they open.

Taste was okay but the presentation was not what I was expecting. I was expecting a sushi taco blend like the ones in every other picture. They just gave me basic sushi rolls. Flavors were ok but I didn't come here for generic rolls o can get anywhere. False advertising. I got the salmon and salmon skin. Meh

I think this is a good place to try once, but I don't think I would come back. The yellowtail was my favorite. Salmon was average and pork belly was good though a bit dry. Not bad but not the best!

For someone who doesn't like hand rolls as much as maki rolls, these were good. You fill up on the seafood rather than the rice. I love the cute wooden holders for each handroll. The scallop was so tasty. Staff were nice and knowledgeable. Definitely try the corn ribs and I always get shishito peppers. Very nice flavor. We waited in Texas Sake Co. Get their nigori on tap! It's kinda pricy but you're paying for quality sushi.

This truck is one of the best kept secrets in Austin. As someone that has worked for Chef Morimoto himself, the handrolls are nothing short of amazing. Words cannot describe how good this place is. Go! Run! Leave your home or job immediately and grab the tasty creations they have to offer. No option is bad. This truck deserves its own restaurant. You make me dream of moving to Austin to always be closer to you.

This is a cool food handroll truck spot with a sake bar right next to it! I know what you're thinking, sushi out of a food truck?? Here me out... it was really good! I came here on a Friday night and although the parking is big, it here was ALOT of people out at this area that made it a little difficult to find parking for. We got a variety of hand rolls but hands down I think the best one was the hamachi. All the rolls were fresh and delicious but the hamachi just hit a little differently. It is a little pricey but I would say that it was totally worth it !

Wow. I was not expecting much, craving sushi, in Texas, for delivery. But Texas Sushiko is outstanding! Flavors are on point, freshness is evident, and the creativeness (minus the oh so popular fusion) shines through. Despite them only offering roles, these aren't the Mayo laden rolls many joints produce. These are butter poached crab, fresh jalapeño marinated hamachi, and fresh raw scallops with just enough truffles to provide some depth. Portions aren't huge but you're getting quality. Highly recommend.

Presentation was great, but the food was expensive for what you get. We ordered the salmon, hamachi, salmon skin and corn ribs. The corn ribs were great, the sushi rice had too much vinegar and the flavors were just ok. I wanted to really like this place as we were excited to try it but we much rather the hand rolls at uroko

Best sushi in Austin and it's out of a food truck!! Chef Michael is a genius and super friendly to walk me through all the special sushi tacos of the day. On the cheap side I was shocked at how good both the salmon skin and spam rolls were. On the expensive end the crab was mind blowing.

This might be my new favorite sushi spot in Austin, and to make it even better you get to eat it at sake bar!

I love the location and the concept. I got the corn, king crab and sea scallops. Corn and king crab were yummy, sea scallops was okay. It was an expensive meal, but I would go back to try some more things.

By far the best sushi ever! So glad we found this gem. My bff and I had a great time with both sake and sushi. The staff was super friendly and offered some great recommendations. If you're in Austin, this is a must try eatery!! Can't wait to go back!

Seriously my favorite place I've eaten at in Austin so far. Texas Sushiko is so underrated. The corn ribs are very unique in the best way. You can get your food brought inside to Texas Sake (their partner company) where we had a delicious sake margarita.

This place is delicious! I had a blue fin tuna roll and my friend had a the king crab roll and we both tried the scallop roll as well. One of my FAV sushi places now, and the ambience makes it even better. Everyone at the food truck serving us was extremely nice and social and it made for an overall great experience. Highly recommend trying this place!

Shit is bomb af. Corn riblets, spam hand roll and scallop hand roll. Yep. I mean all the hand rolls are good. Don't skip this place.

I have been making sushi for the past 8 years and this is hands down one of the best hand roll spots I have ever been to. if you are in Austin I highly recommend making a stop at Texas Sushiko.

Honestly, presentation was pretty, it looked great. But the first bite i took it was so sour. There is so much vinegar in the rice that it masked the taste of everything. I ended up just eating the topping and not even eating the rice. Disappointed. The only thing good was the corn ribs because there wasn't any rice in it. Definitely have potential if they changed the rice recipe they use.

Everything tastes amazing! I've had almost all the rolls by far my favorite was the king crab roll with the crab poached in butter and topped with black truffle slices its pure decadence. The summer menu had these corn ribs that remind me of the rich elote corn cobs I get when I visit Mexico definitely a must try!
