Where to Find Smoothie Beers in Seattle - Eater Seattle

"450 North Brewing Company out of Indiana was among the early smoothie adopters and learned that the storage requirements can be a bit finicky (smoothie beers should be kept at cool temperatures, due to the potential for refermentation causing cans to explode on rare occasions)." - Gabe Guarente

Great food & love the atmosphere! We had the garlic knots with beer cheese & marinara, Super Supreme Pizza & Cheesecake to finish off with. Everything was great!

Google
Great pizza & wings... got them naked and dipped in bbq and sweet chili! Fantastic! Our server was awesome and took care of almost 20 people!

Macario Mendez

Google
Amazing food, I got the double house smash burger and it was delicious and juicy, got right in to a seat on a Friday night too! Waiters were also very nice and helping. Waiting time for the food was slightly long, probably 20-25 minutes though.

Duane Pierce

Google
Food and Service was outstanding. Pulled Pork Sandwich and parmesan garlic fries were delicious!! 😀

Google
This place is great! Great outdoor spaces with a good vibe inside as well. Bar/restaurant/gift shop all in one. The food here is fantastic! The beers are crazy good. The fruit smoothie beers are way too many to count.

The food presentation was impressive. It was neat and different. The food was good but there was really nothing to write home about. The drink menu was very confusing. The slushies were not slushy's. They were all liquidity, and when we asked about them. The waitress said that is the way they come. The drink menu is not very accurate or very explainatory on what liquor is in it. So be sure to ask questions before you order. They do offer free samples. So take advantage of that before ordering. The food was pricey. The quality did not match with the price. All of the seating are wood benches. There's nothing to lean back on, so you might have to bring your own cushion. Or stadium chair to sit in. It was the type of place that you can say, yeah, i've been there. All of the staff was very friendly and helpful when we did have questions. The dinner wear reminded us of something out of the movies with cowboys sitting around a campfire eating beans off of flat metal plates with spoons.

Stopped in for a could of drinks. What a great place! I've also been there for food and the wood fired pizza is amazing!

Google
I had chicken pesto pizza and fuzzy peach wine and they were spectacular. We were a large party of road cyclists (around 15+) who came here after our biking events. Our server Katie was very nice and the staff accommodated us outside upon our request. Before I start our ride, I asked for water and not only they gave me water but also added ice in my water bottle. It was very nice of them and I was very impressed. My friends were all so happy with their foods and drinks. A great outdoor sitting place to hang out with your friends after road cycling. The indoor was also very nice. Highly recommend this place if you live in Columbus, Indiana. Katie, our server, was very patient with our big party tonight and tremendously helped us. 🙏

Yelp
450 North will forever be special to me since they were my host for the April 2024 solar eclipse. And even if the weather hadn't cooperated, I would have been delighted with how well they set us up -- free camping spots, special beers, food trucks, and extended hours at the restaurant. Apparently 450N is well-versed in this sort of promotion, since their corn maze draws thousands in the late summer. It rained overnight, but the skies parted at the right time. And 450 North kept us hydrated all the way. And boy howdy, they lean into the slushy beers. I will freely admit that I like a slushy brew every now and then, but it's also not necessarily by preferred style. Still, give them credit for churning out a wide enough variety that just about anyone would find something to enjoy on the menu. We indulged in two of their eclipse-themed beers, as well as a special wine release. And props to the staff for being on top of everything at every step. I will definitely think about coming back up here for the corn maze.

Yelp
The host was incredibly kind to let us sample wine at Simmons while saving a table for dinner in the restaurant. He took us to a nice cozy corner by a window. Our waiter, KP, was awesome-super friendly & explained menu items clearly! We ordered buffalo wings as an app & the supreme brick pizza oven as our entree. The food was delicious. I also ordered the honeydew beer slushy-it was very aromatic and tasty!

Yelp
450 North has been a bucket list visit for me for a few years now! I was beyond excited to visit. This place is literally in the middle of nowhere in a red barn looking building. They offer a massive amount of taps with about half being their famous sours. There is also a kitchen. I didn't have much time so I was only visiting for one, unfortunately. The bartender was somewhat short with me. Some might say downright rude. I ordered a west coast IPA. A super hoppy, danky beer that I enjoyed very much so. I am bummed I didn't really have time for a second. Honestly speaking I may have been more inclined to make time for another had the service been better. I would recommend this place. All the food looked great and the one beer I had was excellent. I would like to hope you have a better experience. The servers walking around the dining area all seemed to be very friendly.

Yelp
Don't sleep on the burgers and fries. We're local long-time customers. We've seen this place evolve and expand over the years. I was skeptical about the non-pizza menu items, but so far they have all rocked.

Yelp
I think it goes without saying that 450 makes the best fruited slushy beers in the nation. So I'll talk more about the lesser knowns. They're branching out and I love it. Their ciders are unreal. Most are seasonal rotations but every one has been delicious especially the pineapple habanero cider. I hope they keep this going and start distributing them like they do the beers. They're now distilling, a lot of it is young but it's on the right track. No off flavors, not ultra grain forward or youthful astringency. I'll be curious to see how it turns out once it ages more. Food is always great here and you get plenty. The goat cheese hot honey pepperoni pizza they had was one of the best pizzas I've had in a long time and it 1000% needs to be a regular menu item.

Yelp
Food is amazing. The pizza is the best. I love trying the smoothie beers. Great service. Definitely recommend!

Yelp
Service, beer, and food were all great. Came here with my husband and infant (family friendly) while we were in the area. Got the brisket nachos, Mac and cheese bites, cheese curds, and a burger with a side of cole slaw. Only complaint is that the slaw tasted really metallic, but all the other food was delicious. Highly recommend. Nico was really knowledgeable and hardworking!

Yelp
A fun selection of beverages and delicious food! We were a little disappointed the patio wasn't open, but we still had a fantastic experience! The vibe was good and we received amazing service! I think my favorite dish was the cheese curd appetizer... absolutely amazing!!!
google avatar

Tessa F.

Yelp
The food here was great! We got a pepperoni pizza with hot honey and it was fantastic. Drinks were also unique and good- my husband bought some to take home. The service was a little slow on a Friday, but overall the atmosphere was great- we'll be back!

Yelp
What can I say? Amazing food, great service, awesome atmosphere. I came back into town to visit family and had to pay this spot a visit again. Their garlic knots, buffalo wings, and nachos were and still are, so good. We tried their honey hot pepperoni pizza which was pretty good but some of my party couldn't handle the heat and their BBQ chicken pizza, which everyone enjoyed. I'm definitely coming back to try their other pizzas when I'm back in town .

Yelp
Great Service, Great pizza, awesome Holiday Drink. The pizza is always good but on this occasion it was particularly good. Better job of toppings to the edge, in the past an issue I've had with this place. Flavor and spice were excellent. The server did a great job as well., Kyle I believe. If not I'm sorry I can't remember because I should. Specially with the level of service you get at many places nowadays. He was appropriately attentive and super polite.

Yelp
I'm here to put NICO (Nicholas J) on the Yelp!! Our group of 3 very much enjoyed our first visit to 450 North Brewing Co. Appetizers were hot and delicious. We had Brisket Loaded Nachos and Cheese Curds. The Meat Mammoth was cooked perfectly. Nico was extremely attentive and very informative. I didn't know beer could be so yummy delicious! Def try the slushy beers! Whiskey flight was fun for our whiskey drinking friend. Thank you Nico for being so accommodating.

Yelp
Great wood fired pizza, craft beer and wines. The restaurant can be a bit noisy but it is fun country style atmosphere

Yelp
Have been getting 450N cans for quite a while now on the west coast and jumped at the chance to visit the location when work took me nearby. It was a pretty relaxing drive out surrounded by corn fields wondering if I was going into the right direction and then arrived at the purée mecca. I thought the brewery and surrounding location were beautiful. Needing some food I went with the smash burger and was content. The real reason I was there was for the beer but the burger was a nice surprise. There was a steady flow of patrons but I had no issue getting a table or quick service.

Yelp
Very unfortunate because it's a cool place. First time we came here we got beers and an app and our server never came back so we didn't get to order more food. Had to go to the bar to get a check. Waited probably 8 years to come again. We ordered a pizza and 2 beers. One beer was out but the server kept telling us how good it was instead of letting us just order a replacement beer. We got the food after an extremely long wait. Our server, again, never came back. The pizza was raw. We have a 3 and half hour drive home so we weren't waiting for another pizza and I wasn't going to the bar or host stand to get someone to help since couldn't get our server to come back. We are going to take it home and cook it because it's wasn't cheap. Raw dough is dangerous people. You can get really sick from raw dough. A brewery that serves lots of pizza should know that. I am sitting here fuming writing this review because it has been 10 minutes since I've asked for a box and our bill and STILL nothing. We will absolutely never come back.

Yelp
450 North Brewing Company is THE brewery that got me into beer! We took a road trip to Indianapolis and had to stop at their tap room. It was so much fun to finally visit in person and try their beers on draft. It was really cold when we went, but we had our dog and didn't know until we got there that their patio was technically closed. We were so thankful that they accommodated us sitting outside with our pup! Their fruited sours are my favorite, so I was so excited when they had a ton of options on top that I had never tried before! Their food was also good. We ordered cheese curds and we shared a salad. The facility is nice and really large. They have a ton of outdoor seating, as well as indoor seating. Don't forget to stop by there merchandise area which has a ton of fun merch to take home!

Yelp
Awesome place. Didn't try the food today but tried the beer. They have any type of beer you could desire. Their smoothie style beers are a hit and favorite all around. The fact that they have a winery in the same spot is awesome. Their staff is always diligently working and friendly. The atmosphere is laid back and relaxed. There's tables outside where you can order food or just take a drink and play corn hole. Definitely will be back to try the pizza, it looked incredible.
google avatar

Debbie E.

Yelp
Beautiful country setting. 8 of us arrived without reservations on a Friday night and were seated outside on the patio. Nice landscaping with cornhole games on the lawn. Now for the food report - First we shared the garlic knots with sauce dips, they were hot and fresh. I had the smash burger and it was delicious, with cheddar cheese and sauce served on a brioche bun. A couple of pizzas were shared, along with salads. Everything was fresh and tasty. A variety of specialty beers and wines are available. Our server was professional and attentive. There is plenty of parking, an event center and gift shop. Well worth the drive. Recommend reservations, weekends are busy.

Yelp
This place is out of this world for real. Came for the beer, stayed for.... Everything else. Did you know they're a distillery and winery too? Not to mention their epic wood fired pizzas and insane amount of land. I'd come here over and over again if I could.
google avatar

Pete R.

Yelp
Finally made the 2.5 hour trip to slushy beer central and while we weren't impressed by the 'ice cream series' being featured that week, there was enough non-ice cream based options still on tap that we definitely got to try many of flavors we'd previously only read about...and they did not disappoint. We would sure love to be there fruit supplier! What surprised us were the non-sweet/fruited beers and the food. The IPA and hazy were more than respectable and while the porter and wheats were just average, I'm really looking forward to the flavored stouts I also brought home. Both the burger and Turkey club were quite tasty and filling. The place is certainly in the rural middle of nowhere, but the complex itself includes the brewery/winery/taproom/restaurant, emerging distillery (original taproom), events building with the fancy garden out front, the RV lot as well as the family farm across the road. It's an ambitious operation to say the least and the folks we met that day seemed rightfully quite proud of it all. Don't forget the beer and wine frozen slushies on tap in the warmer months as well as the impressive patio off the restaurant. There's a nice gift shop in the front too, so t forget your 450 sticker! It was a great day trip. And we will be ba k, perhaps to check out the corn maze this fall?!
google avatar

Patty B.

Yelp
The foo is always good. The wine is a favorite. It's always busy. There is an occasional wait at certain times of thw year. And because of that it can be a minute on service.
google avatar

Yelp
We took five friends that have never been to 450 N. the place looks like an old barn and has beautiful grounds. it's used as a wedding venue. They have a large selection of beer, spirits and a room for wine tasting. The indoors is rustic with picnic table style seating, and yes, there's an outdoor patio. One of our friends was into wine and spent quite a bit of time in the wine tasting section. She came and told us the lady who helped her was very knowledgeable and helped her select the wine that she loved. we split the pulled pork nachos, Cheese curds and garlic knots. The cheese curds were a big hit along with the garlic knots. We then Split a 16 inch pizza (their specialty) which completely filled everybody up and we even had one slice to take home. the service was outstanding. She was very bubbly and answered all of her questions. 450 N. has now got five new customers that can't wait to come back. It's definitely worth going to.

Yelp
450 North Brewing is famous for their Slushy beers. There are so many different kinds of flavors I've seen on Untapped and physically that it's enough to make your head spin. I am glad for trying the one that Steve and I split as it did a pretty good job of reminding me of my youth when we would get Slurpees at the 7-11. The flavor we had was the Flaming Flower. This particular Slushy flavor involved cherry and lime flavors. Probably because it involved cherry is why it reminds me so much of the 7-11 for their famous Cherry Slurpees. Normally I'm not a big fan of Slushy, Slurpee, Smoothie or Milkshake beers but occasionally there is one that I take a liking to and in the case of Flaming Flower I took an unexpected liking to it which is saying something!
google avatar

Jenifer N.

Yelp
Their fruited sour slushy beers are an absolute must. They're almost more like a fruit smoothie than a sour beer - very think and full of incredible flavors. Pizza is excellent and the inside is spacious, but there's also some patio space to enjoy in warmer weather!
google avatar

Tiffany H.

Yelp
I absolutely love it here, great place to enjoy some outdoor weather and watch the sun go down while enjoying good food and drinks.
google avatar

John S.

Yelp
Service and Atmosphere were outstanding. The pizza was plenty big for 2 people. My wife got Chicken Bacon Ranch on 1/2 and I got Honey Sriracha Chicken on the other. DELICIOUS! The crust was so good, too! Huge selection of beverages on tap. When we are in the area again, we will return! We also bought a bottle of their Wheat Whiskey. Good selection of wine as well. .

Yelp
To say I was excited to try this place is ! It feels like it's in the middle of nowhere but the place is gorgeous inside and out. Spent an hour looking at the menu deciding what to order on our way home. We ordered the cheese curds, Haus burger, chicken wrap and pizza. Everything was just ok - very ordinary. I don't know if it was an off day on Sunday around noon- but I was expecting so much more base on pics and ratings.
google avatar

Steve S.

Yelp
The beers are excellent and out bartender she was great I do have to say the place is in the middle of nowhere but it's worth it if you have the time
google avatar

Tonya L.

Yelp
Good food ok service. We did a "Columbus Brewery Tour" (which, there are 2 in the city) with this as our conclusion. We had a burger and a salad. Both were really good. The service was ok. The person who helped us was not very attentive, and it wasn't very crowded for a Saturday. We got a growler and then I went to the other side to grab some wine because they also have Simmons winery on the other side. All in all, I'd come back for the food, and bring my kids, but I wouldn't probably come for the service.
google avatar

Stef G.

Yelp
Cold beers! Excellent food! Great atmosphere! Service was quick and friendly, my go to for beers.
google avatar

Zoie R.

Yelp
A couple friends and I checked out this place on our girl's day. The location is a little out in the middle of nowhere. However, once you get inside, the decor, lighting and atmosphere is amazing! Even the food was photo worthy. The pretzel appetizer was giant and came out on a hanging stand (so cool)! I ordered the BBQ nachos as my meal and I really enjoyed them, they were just a tad bit too salty. I was impressed with how big the nacho tray was. I would definitely go back if I am in the area again.
google avatar

Keith E.

Yelp
Sausage and pepperoni pizza probably the best I've ever had. Perfectly cooked from top to bottom, delicious!! Service was excellent, server checked on us often and made a great beverage recommendation. Saw a couple burgers come out of the kitchen that looked amazing also!!

Julie B.

Yelp
Nice restaurant to spending an evening with family and friends. Excellent service and the best pizza we have had in a long time.

Mike V.

Yelp
Cool place, nothing around but fields and some farm houses. 450 lite is a great lager. Was in from out of town. Got some slushie ales and wine to take home. Staff was great maybe a little under staffed but the place was busy both times I stopped in. Pizza was good.

Yelp
==============AVOID============ My recent visit to 450 North Brewing Co. with my mother on October 6, 2023 was nothing short of a disaster, and I am appalled by the unacceptable service and total lack of concern shown by the manager; Hope and owners; Brenda and David Simmons. The trouble began when my mother's first entree arrived, and it was completely inedible; she asked to have no jalapeños since she isn't able to tolerate any spice at which point the server should have suggested to exclude the chipotle sour cream drizzle, which was not done as any good server should do. The spice from the drizzle was unbearable and I politely requested a replacement. To my shock, I was told that I would have to pay for another entree, despite the fact that the first one was clearly a culinary catastrophe. After a frustrating conversation with the manager, who was dismissive and unapologetic, we reluctantly decided to order another dish to avoid further confrontation, with no spice whatsoever. But the ordeal didn't end there. Instead of addressing the issue, the manager promptly brought us the check, even though we hadn't touched our new entrees. After being taken aback and blindsided, I told Hope that we were not ready to leave for which her response was to have a good evening. Being in the business this is completely unacceptable and a guest should never be treated in this manner, she needs to be let go. What's most disheartening is the utter lack of follow-up from the owners and general manager that I had emailed directly. One would expect them to be concerned about the terrible experience we had at their establishment, but it seems they are content with ignoring the concerns of their paying customers. In the end, this experience left a sour, no pun intended, taste in my mouth, and I would strongly caution anyone against dining at 450 North Brewing Co. The appalling service and the lack of accountability from both management and ownership are inexcusable and warrant a reconsideration of their commitment to customer satisfaction.

Yelp
We started out a mid-week road trip to Bloomington with a visit to 450 North. If my travel buddy hadn't known about this complex (there's also a winery and event space), I'd never had crossed its path as it's slightly off the regular route thru Columbus. We arrived right at opening, 11 am, and were seated immediately on a lovely patio surrounded by pretty landscaping. Our server was very helpful helping me determine which of their beers were suitable for dairy-free/vegan folks. We each went for a flight (around $14 for 4) and shared a huge soft pretzel that normally comes with beer cheese & mustard. We went mustard only. I'm not a sour beer lover but was very impressed with their creative brews. Since we ordered different things in our flights and tried each other's, I tasted 8 unique pours. The pretzel was hot, delicious and the perfect accompaniment for the sours. Get out your GPS and make your way to 450 North if you're in the Columbus/Bloomington area. They have something for most everyone to enjoy in a beautiful and relaxed setting.

Yelp
We have tried to eat at this place three times. This time was the last straw. We walked in and I asked if we could sit at the bar. The host said sure there should be two seats at the end. There was not. So, we put our name on the list and was told 20 minutes. No big deal. Two seats became available at the bar so we sat at the bar. The host came over and told us there were people before for the bar. We were on the bottom. So, explain to me why it is alright when we came in to seat ourself at the bar. Then all of a sudden it is not. We will never come back to this place again. Three strikes you are out.

Yelp
I've been here a few times. Everything we've tried has been delicious. This time we got a pizza it was large plenty to share. Even took a few slices home. They have a vast assorted craft beers on tap. Some of the fun flavors this time were birthday cake and nutter butter. They change and offer samples. They also have a winery with flights . Always a fun place to eat or just grab a drink. It's a little out of town but worth the drive.

Tammy

Yelp
The service was good. Food was excellent and the atmosphere is so relaxing! Great place for a group of friends

Yelp
Always an amazing experience! Have only ever come for the corn maze beer fest, but finally made time to stop by for a flight and some appetizers, and pizza to go! All of their beers are amazing, and I love the slushies! They are thicker than normal beers so be prepared if you order a lot of them! After a flight, I was very full but so happy! They were all delicious, we even bought some swag and got a growler fill to go of their kolsh!

Yelp
A solid 4 stars... want to give it a 5 star review as it's a cool brewery, but this place was a train wreck from a staffing/service standpoint. Despite this, I am very grateful for their employees that showed up and gave their best! We ended up here on a Saturday night with 2 other couples. The picnic table concept may be trendy, but it's a pain from a layout perspective as it doesn't give much flexibility. the bulk of the tables here are for 2 or 4 people... They estimated about a 25 minute wait for 6 people as they were getting more busy, but definitely not super busy. We ended up waiting over 90 minutes for a table and watched a few sets of 2 or 4 people sit, eat and move on. Either way.. onto the positives. The staff we spoke and worked with were super friendly, but stressed out, understaffed and running around. The gal behind the wine bar was soooo nice! The merch area is well stocked with a bunch of cool stuff, including $40 etched glassware :) Once we got seated it took a bit to get settled, get some waters and more alcoholic beverages. I wanted a flight, but with them being understaffed figured that was a bad move.. ended up with their west cost cali ipa, very good! We ordered wayyyyy tooo much food for 6 people... 3 pizzas and 3 appetizers :) Pork nachos, pretzel and something else... all were good, no complaints, they were well sized! the pizzas were large... we ended up eating about 1/2 of each pizza, plenty to take home! The taco/mexican pizza was the best of the group we had in my opinion. ton of flavor! the pulled pork pizza was good as well but was a bit undercooked. Love the crust that was cooked, but the middle was an undercooked mess. Overall a good experience.. but could have been better all around. Thankful for the crew that showed up, did their job and had a good time doing it despite a bunch of factors they cannot control

Yelp
The food, wine, beer, and service were exceptional. My sister and I loved the rhubarb wine and red barn ale. We ordered off the specials menu and were not disappointed. Brant was our server and he was a prince. Super attentive and charismatic.

Yelp
We hadn't been for quite a while - in fact, it had been so long that we were shocked to see their new building ( maybe not so new). We use to go for the pork tenderloin on Tuesdays - we were craving a tenderloin so we decided to make the 38 mile trek. The service was excellent, the new building was much larger than their old digs and had more of a beer hall feel than a restaurant ( hey we get it, it's a brewery) however, the food was less than we remembered. The quality of the tenderloin was good but the flavor changed - the seasoning was different and it certainly didn't come out of the kitchen with the crispy on the outside juicy on the inside as we remembered. My tossed side salad was wonderful, fresh, crisp and plentiful, hubby had cold fries for his side ( no he did not order them that way, compliments of the kitchen). The rating of four stars is primarily because of the good service, fabulous salad, and the quality of the meet - had the tenderloin been crispy and not soggy and the fries hot not cold we would have rated this experience a 5 star - not that they care - but they should - this is a crack in the facade - if it's not repaired - well, we all know what can happen.

Yelp
This brewery rocks. Great customer service classic pub pizza food. But the BEERS! Sublime. It's a nice little ride into the countryside. I always plan our trips north around beer release weekends. I have been 4 times now. Make time for a visit. It's so worth it if you are into beer.

Yelp
Their pizza was very good. They had a great variety of sour beers. They also have a winery attached which is great. I loved the wine as well. The tastings were only $5. My only issue is that there were sooo many fly's. There was also a nice garden outside with a lot of flowers. I would recommend trying this place!

Yelp
We pulled 450 North Brewery up on Harvest Host app and found this fabulous place to stay overnight. It's off the I-65 freeway just North of Columbus, IN. They do have a large parking area for us to park our 43 ft Coach. But you need to call ahead for overnight parking reservations. We arrived In time for lunch.... the big red building was welcoming. We read in the reviews that the pizza was really good....so that's what we had!! Pizza and beer! First off, Chance checked us in.... gave us directions as to where we should park. Easy enough. He was a very nice young man. We were hungry .......we got the Coach settled and paraded back to the restaurant, into the bar area. We were met by Katie, our Bartender. Full of bubbly personality, and conversation. There was quite a selection of beer and a few fruity beers & slushees. We selected Copperhead Amber Ale..... liked it a lot. We ordered the Hawaiian Luau Pizza. .Loaded with ham, bacon, cheese, andouille sausage with some pineapple...... full of flavor. Really good. I think we'll have another beer !!. The pizza was a good large size....we took some pizza home with us.!! While we were there.... a group in the restaurant ordered 4 Flights of beer. A rainbow !! Looked awesome all lined up. Pretty cool. Since we're here for the night... I know we will be back in for dinner.... and a beer. Katie was working on the signs for next weeks beer selections.... some of the names looked pretty darn interesting. Just too bad we won't be here then. If in the area.... stop by. If traveling in a Coach, trailer, or camper... check out Harvest Host app. Oh..... in Nov, ( I think... maybe late Sept), they also set up a Corn Field Maze with lots of other Brewer's involved to "help you through the maze"!! With COVID-19 issues..... you will want to call them directly for the Maze schedule.

Yelp
Hostess Seated someone who came after us. We had a 5 yr old who was cranky, would have been helpful if the hostess had some compassion. Not worth my time and money.
