Yelp
Went to Toast on 2/1/2025 and had Stephanie as a server. She was wonderful and so nice. Would absolutely go again for her service.

Yelp
Breakfast all day - well at least until 3:00. Brunch in Charleston is a 'thing' I guess. We got to the restaurant around 2:00, so it wasn't crowded. There is a nice bar too and they say they have great pizza. Being from Connecticut, I'm sure their pizza is great by Charleston standards, but I have big doubts it could compete with Connecticut pizza. So we will stick with breakfast food I had the veggie omelet with grits and a biscuit. Let me say - this was the biggest biscuit I ever saw - and it was good. So were the grits and so was my fluffy omelet. My husband had eggs, biscuit & corned beef hash. And the hash was wonderful. Homemade. So good. Our server was really good too - brought me a to go cup for my second cup of tea (with a new tea bag, honey & lemon). Really nice.

Yelp
Wish we could score a zero! We were excited to try the breakfast here. We ordered coffee and a hibiscus mimosa and food. When the mimosa came, it had no red color and tasted like champagne with sweetener. When we inquired, we were told that it was made with St. Germain and champagne. After the waiter took it away, a manager came to the table with the drink and informed us that unless the restaurant makes an error, we have to pay for the drink and further, this is how they make an hibiscus mimosa. When we said we did not want to pay for the drink, the manager informed us that she would call the police... we tried to cancel the food and she informed us that although we had not received it, the order was placed and we would have to pay for the food as well. Needless to say, we will not be back to Toast.

Yelp
I'm not going to lie, I was expecting more from Toast All Day. I saw the raving reviews and knew this place was a Charleston classic, so of course we had to try it. We went on a Sunday around 1:30, so I expected to wait for a table, but I was surprised to be seated almost immediately! Our server was super friendly and joked with us throughout the meal. If there's one thing I'd give five stars for, it's the service and drinks! I ordered the shrimp and grits with an espresso martini. Since I regularly order shrimp and grits for brunch, I was disappointed with this dish. It lacked flavor, and the portion size was quite small for the price. Fortunately, the espresso martini was delicious as usual! Overall, I wasn't overly impressed, but it's not a bad choice if you're on King Street looking for a traditional brunch spot.

Yelp
This review is for Toasted Crust (Toast All Day's nighttime alter ego). My daughter and I recently popped in on a Saturday evening for a Hawaiian pie and Teriyaki wings before heading to a show a few doors down. All in all, a solid meal, family-friendly ambiance, and friendly service. The wings were not the plumpest or juiciest, but cooked fine and pretty flavorful. The pizza (14"--feeds two no problem) had a thin and crispy crust that could have stayed in the oven a minute longer. Otherwise, good. Started to get crowded around 6:30, so go earlier to avoid weekend crowds. (3.5 stars).

Yelp
Service was amazing the wait was 20min on a Sunday morning! Great family atmosphere! Best shrimp and grits ever! Seasons and peppers and onions are perfect!

Yelp
Tremendous pizza! But of course Mike the boss and pizza maker is from Philly! As good as anything I have had in the Northeast!

Yelp
Update after going to the Historic Charleston Market on Meeting Street I was told by vendors, don't go to this restaurant, they do not make good breakfast. I loved the service here. Warm and friendly and easy to order my food. The kitchen looked like it was doing a great job getting food out hot and fast. The only issue I had was my biscuit on my benny wasn't very "buttermilk-like" just felt more like a buttery flour bread item. So if you want that breakfast moment... this might not be the spot. If you want a fabulous mimosa... this is definitely the place.

Yelp
The service was quick and the She Crab Soup was good but my main course was cold and the fries was lukewarm. We won't be back.

I totally recommend this place. The waitress was very friendly. The coffee was good and the food was delicious.

Yelp
JASON is the BEST sever around. First day on the job and I thought he seemed like he'd been serving here for years. Had such a lovely breakfast thanks to Jason

Yelp
After arriving in Charlestown, a little after noon on a Saturday, we were on the search for brunch or lunch. Most places had to wait that was one and a half to two hours. Then we found Toast All Day. We were seated within a few minutes of arriving as there was only one party in front of us. We sat in the back dining room near a window and although it was a table for two, we had plenty of room. Our waitress Crystal gets 10 stars from me. She greeted us within minutes of being seated. Once she discovered we had never been to Charleston, she walked us through the menu and made suggestions. She took our drink order and came back with a few minutes. I ordered a fried green tomato BLT with a crab cake and fries. My wife ordered the basic breakfast. When the food arrived, everything looked great. The crab cake was on my fried green tomato BLT and for $8, I definitely would have expected it to be bigger. I ate it separately and discovered that there was no bacon in my BLT. Crystal was slammed with a big party but saw my face and came right over to help. She brought more bacon than I could even eat out to me. It was perfectly cooked! I added it to my sandwich and must say it was delicious. The manager even ended up taking 15% off the bill, which was appreciated. My wife enjoyed her breakfast but did burn the roof of mouth pretty bad on the home-fries because they were extremely hot even after a few minutes of letting them cool. Overall, I enjoyed this place and would go back. Service was phenomenal, food was great, my only issue was kitchen accuracy.

Yelp
Great please central to everything to grab a nice breakfast. The busquits were very tasty and the service was friendly. Great place to grab breakfast and explore the local shops

Yelp
Over cook everything....long wait. Wasn't going to wait another hour. Sad it was pack and menu looked great. Won't come back. Plenty other good restaurants!

Yelp
After visiting two days in a row, I figured I should write a review! Super convenient location and great walkability. Since it's so convenient, the closer it gets to the weekend, it can get a little busy, but I've never had an issue getting seated right away. I've ordered everything from the chicken & waffles to the cheesesteak and been pleased every time. The menu is standard brunch, but everything is done well. A lot of the ambiance comes from the big downtown window view and the openness of the space. It's relatively simple, but they are strictly breakfast & lunch, so it fits the aesthetic. Overall if you're looking for classic brunch, family friendly, with a range of options. You've found it!

Yelp
Food was amazing! The avocado toast and corned beef hash omelet was super filling! Fresh squeezed orange juice and fantastic service! This seems like a Charleston staple and I'll stop here again. Thanks for the breakfast

Yelp
Meh, for me this place was just ok! Nothing really to rave about, the service was great but the food was mediocre. The biscuit was wayyy too big, for me it would have been better to have some homemade jam to spread on it! I can see folks enjoying this place on a hangover Sunday morning because the portions are HUGE!! Overall just ok for me.
google avatar

Pablo R.

Yelp
The place was PACKED and we were still seated pretty quickly. The ambience is nice but it is a bit cramped seating wise. Especially with the pizza place next door attached to it. However, with all that being said. The food and drinks tasted very good and it was plenty of food. My waitress was very attentive and got the food out quickly as it was still very warm. Overall, would definitely return. Might help to get a reservation on busy days though.

Yelp
Had to enjoy breakfast one day while visiting Charleston SC and chose to enjoy it at Toast. Greeted with smiles right as we entered the door and loved the vibes. It also has pizza there if you fancy a slice in the lunch or late night hours. Enjoyed a breakfast cocktail with a peach kick to it and we loved it. The omelettes were cooked perfectly with lots of cheeses and meats packed inside. The corned beef was very filling with the 10/10 perfectly cooked potatoes. Crunchy on the outside and moist on the inside. The rye bread could have been toasted a bit more but the biscuit was super filling. After a drunk night this will cure you in a jiffy.

Yelp
Do yourself a favor and don't go to the toast all day location downtown Charleston. Not only was the service not great, but they apparently believe in charging you for something you didn't even order. We stopped in here for a late lunch one day and it took about 20 minutes for anyone to ever even acknowledge us. We thought once they did it would be smooth sailing after that, we were wrong. I was charged for a larger size than what I ordered and nobody would fix it. I mean, I have worked in a restaurant plenty and I know this scenario was out of pure laziness. As for the taste, everything was under seasoned and the "big" biscuit was a bit undercooked and mushy. This will not be a place I would recommend to others!

Yelp
Amazing 10 star Service (Kate made our day) Amazing Recommendations And who doesn't love Bellinis?? I had the Single Meeting! It was soooo delicious! It is like a seafood eggs Benedict but instead of bread it is a crab cake. The sauce was so delicious and it was very fresh! Grandma had a single Deluxe French Brioche! It was amazing! The Bellini carafe was strong and sweet! We loved the restaurant and it was very beautiful! However on a side note. I did not give it 5 stars because there were a lot odd charges I was not told about and was a little tipsy and had such a good time I did not care. For instance...what is the administration fee?? I tipped her 40%... she made the home fries sound like an item on the menu but really it was made up with a bunch of dollar charges. She did how ever give us a free biscuit and gravy and an experience to remember...so I put it back to 5 stars. Double check the check if you are local. I would go again but with a heavy eye!

Yelp
It was open early (8:30 AM), unlike a lot of Charleston, and I was seated right away. But the food was average, the atmosphere non-existent, and the service felt a bit too eager about getting me to order. I ordered a Philly Steak Biscuit. It's not an attractive presentation. I could see the oil shining on top of the overbrowned and unevenly colored biscuit, and the flecks mixed with the peppers and onions reminded me of the flattop they cooked this on. I'm not sure the biscuit counts as authentic. I'd probably not bother visiting again.

Yelp
Stopped by here for brunch before we left Charleston after a long weekend. We were worried the wait would be long as it's a popular spot but we were seated quickly. The service was also very attentive and friendly. This was the perfect last meal. I got steak and eggs, with a side of grits and biscuits (with sausage gravy). My husband got the French toast. We shared my sides lol because they were huge. He doesn't like biscuits and gravy but loved it here so that says alot about the food. We will definitely be back when we come back to Charleston.

Yelp
3.5. Toast is like a Chili's or Applebee's grade. We were able to walk in and sit at the bar with no wait, which was nice! We had a couple of mimosas which were tasty and Irish coffees, too. But, the food was just OK. My husband had the crab cake sandwich and I had the fried green tomato BLT. Neither was superb. It wasn't horrible, either though. In a city with so many amazing places to eat, we probably won't come back here again. But, if you are hungry and it's what's available, you won't be disappointed.

Yelp
Sarah was a great bartender and the pizza was excellent! I'm a foodie and I love the pizza, it took me back to Italy! Yummy

Yelp
First time trying this place. We booked to be on the wait list from their website unsure if it would be busy. When we arrived, the host said they didn't do that with yelp, which was odd to us because it's on their website. Thankfully, it wasn't busy so we got a table right away. Our server was friendly and got us settled quickly. The magnolia vegetable omelette was fresh and filling. The buttermilk biscuits are huge and fluffy just the way they should be. My friend raved about her biscuits and gravy. Be sure to check this place out!
google avatar

Yelp
I think this is a place you come if you want to enjoy the atmosphere. It has a very open, yet close feeling and a nice bar. You're paying for aesthetic over food though. The food was good but definitely overpriced. I had the brioche French toast which was $16 for 4 triangles of bread and 2 slices of bacon. I will say if you order orange juice, be ready to chew it rather than drink. I'm definitely biased because most people want fresh squeezed juice but not me. I want to drink my juice. Overall a decent experience but wouldn't go back probably

Yelp
The beignets were to DIE FOR. definitely recommend stopping in. They also serve fresh squeezed orange juice. Our waitress was super friendly. The interior was fun and interesting.

Yelp
We LOVED breakfast here. The vibes are great for family or for a post hangover meal. The staff is amazing and we LOVED our waitress Stew! She was super knowledgeable, personable, and someone who I want to be friends with. For the important part: Food. We got the peach stuffed French toast, the blue crab and shrimp omelet, and the Meeting St. The French toast was well balanced and reminded me over a peach cobbler. I typically shy away from French toast because it tastes like wet bread, but this was not the case here. I would order it again. The blue crab & shrimp omelet was *chefs kiss*. The filling was a perfectly seasoned. The saltiness of the crab helped highlight the veggies in it and did not force the different flavors to compete for power but harmonize. The Meeting St was also very yummy. The egg was perfectly poached. I loved how the flavor from the green tomato mixed with the crab cake. Overall, I would order all of this again. For sides, we got chicken sausage, home fries, and grits. I wasn't that impressed with the chicken sausage or grits. The grits needed more butter, salt, and pepper. The chicken sausage was a little dry. The potatoes were very good and I recommend getting them as a side. The outside was crisp with the inside being soft. Drinks: we got the espresso martini and the frosè. For the espresso martini, you can actually taste the espresso, so the coffee lover in me was ecstatic! The Frose was amazing. Some frose tends to be a bit dry and bitter, but there's managed to highlight the subtle sweetness that makes rosè, rosè. If I could take a gallon with me to the beach, I would. Toast All Day will be seeing me for breakfast every time I come to Charleston.

Yelp
We stopped in for a drink while walking king st. We just ordered drinks since we had had a big lunch we weren't hungry. The place was dead, I'm not sure if maybe they had just opened, but we were the only Ones in there for a while. I ordered the basil martini, hubby got a beer, the other folks with us ordered a Cosmo and a margarita. The cocktails were so so at best. The bartender was nice but the drinks were a let down. If back down there I wouldn't stop back in. Maybe the pizza is good so I can't speak to that but the cocktails were not very good.

Yelp
1st timer! went for brunch. food was delish! customer service amazing! quick seating, timely service. will be back again

Yelp
This was our last stop on our way out of Charleston, and as much as I wish we loved it, it was just fine. We started with mimosas and coffee. The coffee was good, but we noticed that the mimosas were all served in cups that were different sizes but all the same price. The drink was good but we didn't understand that. Half the table got the coastal chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries. The sweet potato fries were phenomenal but the chicken sandwich was just okay. We also got avocado toast, pork chops, and the power plate. The pork chops were good, and the avocado toast was fine, but the power plate was very underwhelming. The food overall was just mediocre. As far as the place itself, the inside was VERY hot and muggy, and for some reason all the tables that came in were being sat in the same area instead of being spread throughout the restaurant. The service was fine, not terrible but not extraordinary either. I would not come back though.

Yelp
We were just really underwhelmed to be honest. A little over priced. Tasted very of average like ihop breakfast, nothing too special. It was well organized and clean inside but food flavor was lacking.
google avatar

Robert R.

Yelp
The family went here a while back and was astounded at the selections they offer we went for breakfast and it was great.

Yelp
Wow. Disappointing. Coffee was good and hot. Irish omelet - not so much, and corned beef was dry and over cooked. Asked for second cup of coffee -- twice. Took 10 minutes to get it. Wife's meal was entered wrong. Took us five minutes to get someone's attention to tell them meal was wrong. Low Country Bennie came out 10 minutes later... not as described in menu. Hmmmm. There was plenty of time for the staff to discuss the "weather" in the back, however. Restaurant was not busy, and it was a weekday. It will do, but it's not worthy of a special trip.

Bob W.

Yelp
First time in for breakfast at downtown Charleston. Cute clean small place. Our server was great & handled us well. The food is the hit: best corn beef hash I have had in years with crispy potatoes. Eggs toast with beacon & grits great. A must try for breakfast & lunch with a good menu offering. Go you will like the prices
google avatar

Lexi N.

Yelp
Crab cakes bunt. I tried to send back, came back and said like that because thick. I had to peel it off like a banana. Waitress asked if I wanted them remade but after being shot down 1st time I said no. No discount given.

Yelp
Great service. We were 6 adults and a toddler. Our server was great. We had a wonderful meal.
google avatar

Sabrina M.

Yelp
I enjoyed the Hawaiian mimosa, is was delicious. Beignets were wonderful! Biscuit was huge. Staff was friendly, great place for kids, each kid got a balloon. Prices were reasonable.
google avatar

Mai L.

Yelp
They have a few locations. We were staying near King Street so we went to the one there. We were lucky to not have to wait very long at all for a table for 5 of us. Our waitress was so incredibly friendly and urgent with helping us. I ordered the corned beef hash with home fries and a biscuit. Got my eggs over medium. It was a lot of food! The corned beef hash was good and flavorful. And basic - I prefer it without all the extra stuff that some people might put in it. My friends got mimosas and I was able to order an iced coffee. We enjoyed this place and left with very full bellies!
google avatar

Renay S.

Yelp
This was a good eggs Benedict breakfast. Eggs were poached perfectly to our liking, but wished they had toasted the English muffins. Grits were creamy and potatoes were seasoned well. Service was great and good prices. Love the atmosphere for a casual meal.
google avatar

Ellen F.

Yelp
Had brunch this morning. Mercedes was a wonderful server! Good food - no complaints!

Grayson P.

Yelp
Sat with our group it took 30 minutes to get water and an hour and a half to get the food. Service was awful and the eggs were cold. We would have been better served going to the local Waffle House. I downloaded this app and this is my first review just to tell people to stay away. Edit: They waiter couldn't split our bill. If there was a way to not tip we would have. The meal was awful
google avatar

TJ J.

Yelp
Stephanie served us the house down boots. Literally brought us back to life. Food and service was great! 10 out of 10 would recommend
google avatar

Aimee G.

Yelp
The service was great! Our waiter was kind even after we found a hair in our beignets. He didn't charge us and was kind about it. The chicken and waffles could've been better. I expected more flavor I'd say. The ambiance was great! Super cute and fresh inside. Mimosas were great. I'd come back, but I would probably order something else.
google avatar

Angela S.

Yelp
My friends and I just arrived in Charleston and decided to have breakfast at Toast! All Day. Our server, Kate, was friendly and helpful. She made some wonderful suggestions. The food was delicious. Stop on by and say hi to Kate!!
google avatar

Robert T.

Yelp
Really enjoyed the food and our server was prompt, attentive, and friendly. We felt like the quality of the food to portion size to price was reasonable. As it was more of a brunch for us and I was already a pot deep in my coffee for the day I elected to have only one cup. It does appear that they charge by the cup and refills are not included. I had the corned beef hash had with eggs, grits, and rye toast. The corned beef hash was perfect as were the eggs and grits. All around a very good dining experience.

Yelp
Super friendly service, down home southern food, and tasty drinks! They also were able to sit 12 of us at once! We will be back soon!

S. A. J.

Yelp
Toast all day food is good, not great! Drinks are colorful and fun! There's almost always a wait.
