San Francisco Bay Area Restaurants, Bars, and Cafes That Closed in June 2024 - Eater SF

"4Bells Public House, the Berkeley sports bar known for its lobster Hot Pockets, mole-doused chicken and waffles, and other creative pub fare, closed on May 26, according to East Bay Nosh. Owner Jennifer Seidman told Nosh the closure was a result of a “ten-year battle” with the property’s landlords since its days as Doc’s Refresher." - Paolo Bicchieri

10/14/2023: First visit here. Met a friend for pre-concert eats. Hubby and I both had the burger because it was happy hour. He had the onion rings, and I had the fries. The burger was huge! The patty was cooked medium and piled high with the usual veggies. Get multiple napkins at the ready cause this thing is juicy. I loved this burger! The fries were the thin-cut style. Unfortunately, they did not have the crispness I typically enjoy with this type of cut. Instead, they were hard as if they were leftovers that had been re-fried to heat them up. That was disappointing. We both also had an order of wings. He had the honey sriracha, and I had the Thai peanut curry. We both agreed that on a scale of 1-10, with 10 being excellent, we'd give them a 6. The flavors didn't knock our socks off. The wings themselves were overcooked as they were hard and dry and lost the crispyness that a properly cooked wing would have. At least the skin was rendered and did not have a rubbery, flabby texture. We enjoyed the vibe of the place. In particular, the bartender was awesome with his service and was engaging in conversation. If we're ever in the neighborhood again, we would return and try other dishes as they do have an interesting menu.

The bartenders are very nice and provide good conversation. Food was full of flavor and filling. I've had a number of items on the menu and everything has been excellent. Will be back for sure.

Neighborhood bar with plenty of tables for seating. Bar was well stocked and they had a large selection of wines. Food was pretty good in general, we tried the dry rubbed wings (great), sweet mustard wings (average), coconut prawns (fantastic), cubano sandwich (decent), strawberry margarita (great). Food was a bit heavy, but that was to be expected. Pictured is the cubano sandwich

The business is no longer there, it's a real shame. They had the best burgers around and the customer service was great. Hoping they have relocated somewhere close by.

Came here for happy hour with my wife. Had lovely service, great wine, and a surprisingly refreshing spicy pineapple margarita. Excited to have this place around for a long time!

Everything from the front sign with Trump to the burger to the beer. Everything was good. Had a good time with some friends, glad it was down the street from the hotel we were at. Will visit again if in Berkeley

Really wanted to love this place as the food is great and it’s so close to me. Had an awesome time the first visit with one of the bartenders who makes a wicked cocktail. Second time not so much; happy hour wings are 6 for $10 - it was two of us so we ordered 2x6 wings. We were billed for 12 wings at the non-happy hour rate and even after pointing it out, a different bartender told me “I can’t change it that’s how the system works”. Serious bummer that felt deliberately misleading for an extra $5.
