5 Boroughs Food Emporium

I had an early Friday morning flight out of LGA to attend a funeral. I got to the airport early and got thru immigration quickly. Walked in towards my gate and after coffee at another spot, I still had time so I got another coffee at 5Boroughs along with a pre packaged wrap to eat on the flight. The coffee was ok but not great. I ate the wrap on the plane and it was fine. Probably would get a fresh one next time.

Got a aquifina 16 oz bottle of water for $2. Cheapest drink I've ever seen in the airport. The worker was very helpful at check out.

SAVIR...WAS VERY RUDE! Throwing the food as he's preparing it. Rushing you with no line behind you! Very, very ill mannered. Raising his voice for no reason! Either he gets customer service courses OR he flat out quits!! I would never hire him in this industry.

Well the sign looks great and shows a nice we'll made pastrami sandwich. What you get is 2 slices of a premade sandwich heated up to order. $24 for the sandwich (loosely said) and a small red bull. Uh, ya... it wouldn't be so bad if the sandwich looked like the sign.

My daughter and I both ordered the chicken burrito bowl. Total cost $40 for 2 salads. It was advertised as containing chicken, avocado and other ingredients. There was no chicken or avocado on either salad - the 2 most expensive ingredients- nor did it have the advertised dressing. On top of that under the top layer the tomatoes were bad and many of the salad leaves were brown. I’d normally go back to the location directly to discuss but we were at LaGuardia airport and got on a flight. I tried to find contact information online but could not so I’m posting here. I have never complained about food previously but this was not acceptable on many levels. The help was also very unhelpful. The two women were chatting and on their cell phones and I had to ask repeatedly to request food. They also gave me a receipt from another customer. We had to do the entire 4+ hour flight without a meal which is really hard for a young person. Subsequently read other reviews with similar issues.

Man behind counter was extremely rude. Said he clocked out for break already and I needed to leave. Even though there was another employee there. So I waited and he shooed me away. 11/28/2025 7:35am

I wanted a toasted blueberry muffin. Instead he warmed it in the oven - whole - then gave me cold butter and pointed to the knives. By the time I paid the muffin was cold and the butter even colder so that was a bust. If you can cut a bagel and put butter on it you can cut a muffin just as easy. Won’t be getting anything here again.

I don’t leave bad reviews ever. But this was really horrible. Bread was stale (could barely pull it apart) and the chewy meat tasted like chemicals. I was starving and already paid the $13 dollars for it so I choked down as much as I could. I’m not a picky eater, especially at an airport. But honestly this was barely food and I feel like I was robbed. *Update: I just bought pepto bismol from the store. Awesome.
