Excellent menu selections, service is friendly and fast. I have been three times in the past two months. Mother's Day was a little busy but we were seated quickly, ordered and were just about to finish the chips and salsa when our food showed up. Big portions of typical American Mexican restaurant fare. Non-holiday visits were not crowded and the service and quality was equally as good. Restaurant is clean, decorated well and parking was easy. Mom was a little surprised by the prices but I think all restaurants have increased their prices. I drive by several Mexican restaurants or food outlets/trucks on the way to 5 Hermanos but 5 Hermanos will be my goto Mexican restaurant.

Google
Really nice staff and the food is pretty good. I ordered their chicken fajitas and it was really good. If you order the queso, it's a big portion, but I was able to use it on my fajitas so absolutely no complaint there. I have been a few times and I'm always happy with my food and the staff are always friendly.

Me and my mom went here on may 12th for a late lunch around 4 pm. I ordered the green beef enchiladas (I substituted the ground beef for regular beef for an extra $1 which actually ended up looking more like carnitas aka pork), and my mom got the chicken mole (which the server told us was chicken breast) Both of us got food poisoning afterwards. I got sick, started sweating and vomiting, and had such horrible stomach pain (like to the point I couldn't sit stand or lay from the crazy pain) into the night that at 2 a.m., I ended up at the ER. My mom's on dyalsis and this was supposed to be a nice after treatment get together, especially because those procedures are so tiring, only for her to also end up at the hospital that same day, I spent $58.87 plus a $10 dollar tip only for us to both get sick. The server was a nice guy, and everyone was very accomadating, but the food was not cooked correctly or had to have been sitting out all day/old. On top of the fact the food wasn't great, the tortillas were cold the meat was cold and lacking flavor, we were both so hungry we just ate and were ready to leave. They need to speak with whoever cooked and then approved the food to be sent out because this really could have caused worse problems, especially for my mom who's already immunocompromised, I think her only saving grace is that she didn't eat all her food and went immedietly to the hospital as soon as she felt bad (unlike me who waited until I literally couldn't physically take it anymore) or else she would've been in the hospital much longer. Please do not bother eating here what a waste of money!

This restaurant was very festive in atmosphere. Our server was friendly and kind. The horchata was delicious. The chicken taquitos were OK. The rice and beans were authentic and tasted good. The lamb shank however was to die for!! Fall off the bone tender lamb with a sauce that so flavorful! Yum! Highly recommend.

Google
I went there yesterday with my children and my parents. Everybody there was nice to my family they were kind and the food was really good. The service was great our drinks were always filled as was salsa and chips. It was a really good environment and we felt welcomed. I would recommend them to anybody and I would recommend asking for the homemade hot sauce! 👌

Google
Fun and tasty Mexican Restaurant in the Benson Hill area of Renton! I recommend the fajita and the verde enchiladas. Their home made salsa and chips are great and they serve plenty of them to the table throughout your meal. Their serve was super quick and they were friendly and attentive throughout the night. They also have a full menu of drinks if you out trying to have fun! This will definitely be a staple dinner spot for us going forward.

Google
The staff members were friendly and the service was fast. My dining guest said her pina colada was “decadent.” The food was good, not great, but good. I asked for light lettuce on my tostada and there was a ton of lettuce. It was a bit odd because it seemed like a taco shell was used rather than a flat tortilla. It also wasn’t very hot, but I think that’s because of all the cold lettuce, sour cream, and guacamole. Of course, you want those things to be cold so that’s understandable. I really enjoyed their salsa.

Since it switched over years ago, my husband and I have eaten here twice and ordered to go a couple of times. Both times we ordered take out the refried beans were off. Definitely not right, had a sour taste. Did call establishment to let them know. Our most recent trip in, this last Friday, was far from great. My husband ordered the chicken en mole sauce and the sauce was so runny. Soon after we got home he started felling sick. Mole sauce should have a thick consistency. My meal was ok but the beans and rice were dry. I don't know, maybe we continue to hit them on bad nights. We won't be trying them again.

Yelp
Dined here frequently when I lived in Renton, this place is directly adjacent to the Fred Meyer store in Kent and just up the hill from Valley Medical Center. There's plenty of parking available. The menu is very extensive and I have tried several things. My favorite is a combo plate with a chili relleno and, rice and beans. Our server was helpful and friendly and kept our glasses full. Food was delicious and very big portions. I could barely finish it and as I was leaving, I was already looking forward to my next visit.

Yelp
My husband and I have been coming to this place for a few years. It's one of our go to places. Their service is A1! The owner and employees are always so friendly and welcoming. For food, their ceviche is one of our favorites! Their shredded beef taquitos are fire! We also enjoy their carne asada and desserts. Their vegetarian tamales are huge and delicious. We will continue to come back to this place.

Yelp
Still remains our favorite Mexican restaurant in the area - and we have been branching out as of late. Nothing beats the quality and quantity of food. The chicken fajitas feed me for like 3-4 meals as long as I have some extra avocado and tortillas at home. Their wet burritos are humongous and always hit the spot for my husband. The chips are super crispy and salsa has a slight kick (the perfect consistency of not too watery but not too chunky). We down the horchata - always refreshing and never grainy. Staff is very friendly whether you dine in or take out. Don't mind the exterior- the inside is clean and very festive! Not too loud either.

Yelp
Yum yum! So fulfilling! Awesome, attentive service! Little pricey, but still an amazing restaurant!
google avatar

Trish M.

Yelp
The rice and beans were good. Chicken tacos were bland no flavor. My friend's potato tacos were bland. Strawberry lemonade was very sugary. Service was good.

Yelp
Dinner tonight at our friendly local 5 Hermanos restaurant. Always order something with their chipotle sauce...it's so tasty!!!! Tonight my fiancée got their shredded beef chipotle enchiladas (and ate the ENTIRE plate) and i got their steak fajitas with the extra grilled veggies...mmmmmmm! I have left overs for lunch tomorrow! ;-) These people are always super friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is always clean and inviting.

Yelp
I gave 4 stars because there wasn't a 4 and a half. Great service, good food, fun atmosphere. We come here about once a month and this last Saturday night was the same reason we'll continue to come back. We asked to sit in the very large and open bar area. We sat in a booth, had a wonderful server and our food was delivered to us so fast we barely had time to have a sip of our drinks. The food was delicious (see pics) and my small margarita was perfect. (I had to ask for a small version) Thanks and we'll see you next month. as

Yelp
There staff and food is amazingI just had dinner there monday! I would highly recommend this place...

Yelp
I came here for lunch with my sister-in-law at her recommendation when I said I wanted Mexican food. This did not disappoint! Our server was so friendly and helpful. As soon as I told him I am a vegan, he was careful about every component of the dish I ordered (tacos de papa), and he knew the recipes well and could tell me they used oil instead of lard, etc. The food was so delicious and made excellent leftovers too. I will definitely visit again!

Cortni W.

Yelp
Best carne asada ever. Friendly staff every time we come. One of our fav Mexican restaurants.
google avatar

Alma B.

Yelp
I absolutely love this place! I think it's because my kids are keeping up with ordering virgin margaritas and they always entertain them. :) Food is great. Plentiful and delicious. Carne asada is muy delicioso! Yum. Place looks nice , and easy to find. Great for families and a date night. You hear laughter and overall a very pleasant atmosphere. We've been here about five times now, and I have never walked away feeling bad, but rather full and happy. Oh ! And their fried ice cream! Oh my! Get it!

Yelp
First time being at this restaurant and I am definitely coming back! The food, service, and ambiance was outstanding! Our server "Oscar" was a very nice person and knowledgeable, he recommended our meals and definitely weren't disappointed. Big hearty portions I couldn't finish but took it home. Drinks were on point and I left happy!

Yelp
Service was good, it was clean, they were fast to bring out the food and were super attentive which was nice. Chips and salsa provided as we sat. This is the quintessential Mexican American restaurant just like toreros or azteca. Stucco walls of pastel pink and tan painted attire. Nothing bad here, but absolutely nothing new or different. You know what you're getting at a Mexican restaurant like this. I wouldn't change much. I got the macho burrito on the lunch menu (11-3pm) and it was pretty good.
google avatar

William H.

Yelp
I've been to this Mexican spot a few times now and it's good. Food comes out fast and taste pretty good. It's not all authentic and stuff if you want that. It's good ol American Mexican restaurant with ground beef. If you want a place to sit down and eat....stop by

Yelp
The food was fabulous, and Chrissy was our server.. She was amazing!!!She took really good care of us she's full of personality and joy. She really made it our day.

Bo W.

Yelp
The food was very delicious. I especially like the chips and salsa that they gave out at the beginning . That already fills me up before the main course arrives. The service was awesome. They are so nice and fast with their work. The ambiance is a Mexican restaurant.
google avatar

Suradem S.

Yelp
Place is not as clean. Food was okay . Service was fine , waitress should always check on customers every 15 minutes. Overpriced compared to other mexican well known places

Yelp
¡Viva La 5 Hermanos! I love this place. Great quesadillas and burritos. The staff is so sweet and friendly. Definitely one of my favorite Mexican places in Washington!
google avatar

Alexandria P.

Yelp
To start off this is one of my go to Mexican food spots in Washington. It's hard to find the authentic food. The food here is beyond amazing and full of flavor. The waitress who helped us went above and beyond. The service was friendly from all those who worked here. I recommend coming here if you are ever in Renton.
google avatar

Yelp
Delicious and authentic Mexican with great service to go along with it. Found a gem really close to home so I will be coming here all the time!
google avatar

Donna I.

Yelp
Amazing food at reasonable prices. The restaurant has such a welcoming, family-run business feel. We always make it a point to come to 5 Hermanos when we are in the Renton / SeaTac area.
google avatar

Khadija S.

Yelp
Found this gem in my new neighborhood. Reminds me of a Mexican restaurant in El Paso, TX. The service is friendly. Place is clean. Above all, the food is excellent. They have an extensive menu but don't let that overwhelm you. Pick what you want and it won't disappoint. They have a full bar with bar seating. And they have a frozen margarita machine so no "blending". Give this place a try. Ample parking and lots of seating.
google avatar

Vivek S.

Yelp
Un poco decepcionante :( In short all the 4 things were underwhelming. Margarita was too sweet and slushy, wings were breaded and way too salty for my taste. The taco salad bowl was the most disappointing. Lumps of boiled chicken (I said lumps because they didn't even shred it well enough) that was barely cooked, super dry and rubbery kind of chewy. Saaf was flavor less, no salsa, nothing !! Ambience is great by the way, quite Mexican !! Nice bachata music in the background.

Yelp
Ordered via Ubereats. Although 5 Hermanos is not that far from our home, we've never tried them before. So glad for Ubereats and yelp to have helped us decide on trying g this place out. We were pleasantly surprise that the food was pretty good. Although it's not like the food we just had in Mexico, but it's for sure better than a lot of places I've tried in Washington. We also had large portions. The flan was actually the best dish. I think I would've given 4 stars if everything had more seasoning. Most of the dishes needed salt, and spices. This place was maybe more Americanized for the local palate. My gringo husband needed lots of salt, and spicy . I'm not into spicy so I was fine. I did need more salt. That was pretty much the only negative thing about our food. It was still good.

Yelp
My friend and her family took me her after our run. She highly recommended this place since they are regular here. The place has a great ambiance. I ordered shrimp fajitas which is unfortunately tasteless, price is $24+ mehhh! Avocado maragrita is not great either. Not something mind blowing. Just ok. Only thing I can say is that the servers/ owners are delightfully very nice . Love them!
google avatar

Bonnie E.

Yelp
Great food, friendly staff, and great service. Highly recommended! They had great recommendations when my friend and I couldn't decide. Couldn't believe they weren't busier when we went.
google avatar

Tony M.

Yelp
The restaurant is beautiful, very clean, and they play great music! The team is all very nice and welcoming--truly make you feel comfortable as soon as you walk in the door. I only had drinks and chips & salsa (the salsa is amazing!) but I can't wait to come back and try the food! Definitely recommend this family-owned Mexican restaurant!
google avatar

Tripti B.

Yelp
Overall a good experience at this restaurant. The food is standard Mexican fare, the ambiance is pleasing and the service is friendly and quick. Worth a visit if you live close by or are in the area.

Yelp
Great food from 5 Hermanos. When they do the tortilla soup right it is really good! My family also got a cheese quesadilla and a side of chips. Really enjoyable meal, thank you for a great meal!

Yelp
We visited here over the weekend with friends and had a nice visit. They were very friendly and didn't mind us hanging out and visiting which was very nice. It's definitely a laid back vibe which reminded me of Mexico and the food was OK too. I had the tortilla soup, a margarita and enchilada while my friends had a big plate of nachos. I don't eat onions so didn't try the nachos but the soup was good and the enchiladas, one beef and one pork, were good too. They did get carried away with the amount of cheese in my soup but overall, the visit was pleasant, the food was good and the staff was very accommodating by letting us just hang out and visit on a Saturday evening. So it did have a nice laid back feel which is exactly what we wanted.
google avatar

Jeff C.

Yelp
Service was five star. Super attentive and on it from start to finish. Salsa was five star. Perfect blend and medley of vegetables, spice and consistency. Presentation was top notch. But cheese was the star on my plate. Meat in enchilada was bland, sauce was watery thin and not much flavor. Rice didn't have much to it either. They had some house specialty items that crossed my mind to give it a second try.

Katie G.

Yelp
Fun and friendly staff, bomb Mexican food, and huge margaritas - what more could ya ask for?
google avatar

Sherry T.

Yelp
One of my coworkers, who is a regular at this place recommended at for dinner last night, and I'm so grateful that she did. Read this sentence very carefully--you must get a bowl, not a cup, of the tortilla soup. I promise it will rock your world. I ordered that and a garden salad. The salad was slightly disappointing because the greens were iceberg lettuce. They could've added something else. Service was friendly and timely.
google avatar

Darla M.

Yelp
Third time isn't a charm but got to say it is my final visit. The five friends who own this place all need to call their five Mom's to help them revise their recipes. I ordered the enchiladas verde with shredded beef. The only flavor it had was salt and way too much of it. Nothing tasty about their beans and rice and they were lukewarm at best. The menu itself won't help you avoid common allergens like wheat or dairy but if you try, you can work out substitutes. Server didn't ask how I liked it but probably assumed it was ok since I was famished and finished the meager serving. I hope this helps spur them on to implement! Note to you, my Mexican friends love to go out and eat at Mexican restaurants and if you find a thriving Mexican community eating there, you'll have achieved a tasty menu. Until then it's just cafeteria food.
google avatar

Janell W.

Yelp
We had the Mexican pizza, flautists, carnitas and a burrito. Every single item, plus the chips and salsa was REALLY good. I highly recommend this place.

Max P.

Yelp
Ate here with some friends. My food was ok, but one guy ordered Shrimp (camarones) and another guy ate 2 of those shrimp; both got food poisoning later that night. Gotta do better.

Yelp
Came in at 3pm on a Saturday. No happy hour, they only have happy hour after 8pm. I think happy hour 3-6 would bring in more business when you have a full bar. Hopefully they change it. Menu is pricey for the area and being part of a strip mall. $20 for a carne asada plate, $17 for pollo plates, $15 for (3) al pastor tacos plate, etc... We had the enchilada mole, which was the sauce was too sweet. Also the pollo a la crema, which was a little bland, and $17 for it is a bit steep. Good portion though. The service is very friendly but not very attentive. Too a lot of waiting for someone to check on us after the food arrived and to get cashed out. They do have mexican beers on tap though which is nice. Around $8.75 for a 24 ounce made us happy.

Roger E.

Yelp
Good food, friendly service, I will drop in again when I can. If you are in the area stop in, you won't be disappointed

Yelp
HERMANO HERMANO HERMANO HERMANO HERMANO. ... that's 5 hermanos. STAR STAR STAR STAR STAR. ... & THAT'S 5 STARS TO BOOT. Me and my... wait for it... HERMANO... stopped by here for a quick meal when we were in the area and let's just say we're now fans FOR LIFE. The whole place gives off such a homey, accommodating atmosphere. I distinctly remember the pastel color schemes and Mexico vibes that resonate throughout, and I simply can't wait for the next time I'm back here. MUCHAS GRACIAS AMIGOS !!!!

Yelp
The wife and I love this place. The food is always great and consistent. The staff is friendly, we highly recommend this place.

Yelp
I've been under the weather for a few days and my go-to fixer is Menudo. I make my own (Hawaiian version) of the soup. 5 Hermanos Mexican Restaurant's soup comes close. Lots of flavor in the broth. The 'meat' (stomach) is plentiful, but somewhat chewy. Needs to be cooked just a bit more. My wife had the Chile Relano and said it was better than one of our favorite Mexican restaurants. Keep up the great work. We'll be back...

Brigitte B.

Yelp
omg i live thai food place the rice and beans are so good and not soft not hard just right and the boritos are perfect

Yelp
WoW, called around for around for an open place on ValentinesDay and couldn't find my first couple choices. Then the wife says Mexican sounds good and I see this place. Something new for me I think. But here we go. So first off, I can easily say the staff was excellent and friendly. I made the order for pick up. Staff was friendly and easy to talk to. When I got there I was even joking with them. After carrying four bags of food and two to go margaritas I go home and examined everything. To say the least we ordered too much. The portions were huge. Everyone enjoyed there meals, from the two year old to the grandmother. I had the spicy carnitas and I can vouch for their heat. On the other hand though the ceviche and salsa I found to be weak. The ceviche tasted fine but had zero heat which I had been hoping for a little. With the salsa, perhaps they have something spicier available but I found theirs to be super mild. But that's my wishes and perhaps not yours. All in all this place was enjoyed but perhaps a little pricy. Will likely go back at some point.
google avatar

Janice B.

Yelp
We like going here. The restaurant has better prices and larger servings than the higher end restaurants.
google avatar

T C.

Yelp
this has become by far our favorite Mexican restaurant. Food is always delicious here. Also I can't say enough about the customer service. They are always very friendly and professional. I highly recommend this place.

Anna R.

Yelp
Amazing service margaritas are better servers are nice. Plus there are more tvs to watch sports games in the bar.

Rachel M.

Yelp
I have loved this place since I've lived in Renton (8 years ish), great service, great food. I have been sick for about a week and haven't been able to eat or cook. I all of a sudden was craving Mexican food, so I figured I'd call in an order. I always get anxious when I have to order a larger order for my whole family, but today, the man who answered the phone literally made my day. He was so patient and kind, and I almost cried getting off the phone cause I had been struggling this last week with being sick and everything going wrong, i haven't been able to catch a break. It's funny how such a small interaction can mean so much. I'm sorry I didn't catch your name, but I really truly appreciate you and your business!!

Samantha H.

Yelp
Excellent food. Perfectly seasoned. The carne asada is the best I've ever had. Friendly staff. Quiet environment.

Erich W.

Yelp
I have been going to 5 Hermanos since they were Torerros. This is one of my favorite restaurant of all ti,e. Go see Valentino and Jaime-two of the brothers who own the place. They make you feel like you're at home. Great people and the best Mexican food. There are three Mexican restaurants which are the best. I highly recommend the following: 1. If you're looking for a quick bite to eat during lunch, go to Taco Del Rey down by Roundtable Pizza on 43rd. See Luis. He and his awesome family own the restaurant 2. If you are up the hill past Valley Hospital, go see the fine people at 5 Hermanos. This is a bit more formal than Taco Del Rey and both places have their own thing going on-both of which are amazing 3. If you find yourself in the Burien/Normandy Park area and in the mood for great Mexican food, visit Archies Mexican Food on First Avenue. You will absolutely not be disappointed
