"Melts, burgers, hot dogs, and boozy milkshakes are the attractions at this roadside stop on Highway 50. For anyone about to get out of Dodge, this is a good last fuel point before the mountains." - Josie Sexton

We were hesitant to go. OMG!! Had to take the fries with us, another meal right there. Hubby had the mushroom/swiss. I think the poblano chili out ranked the mushroom. The shakes were awesome. Banana shake actually had bananas in it and I had the black cherry. Definitely going back

Seriously the best food in town loved it. My son ate two hamburgers and one hotdog and he is eight years old and just could not get enough of the fries. The onion rings to die for or to live for one of the two great stuff thank you so much.

Google
We wanted to stop at a local place. This place was awesome. Monster burgers and a huge basket of fries. The staff was friendly and helpful. The food coming from the kitchen all looked amazing. And a view of the mountains to boot. My only regret was the seating area that has the best view of the mountains was closed. Highly recommend!!!

Christine Salmon

Google
Excellent spot all around. Had the Pinecone and it was delicious. Washed it down with a cold beer and tried to eat our way through the biggest pile of fries I've ever seen. All of it, so so good. Definitely worth it!

Google
The cashier with the purple hair was amazing. Very polite, helpful, and will answer any of your questions. The BBQ fries are the best! Hands down. The burger was great! Just wish they cooked mine a bit more. Everyone was cool, the atmosphere was great, and if you're craving a burger! This is the place to go! Definitely don't forget the fries!

Google
Couldn't visit friends in Salida Colorado without introducing them to 50 Burger.. I couldn't believe they had never been here.. The garlic, rosemary fries were definitely a hit for the whole gang.. I missed getting pictures of everyone's burger because they were so juicy and delicious.. My strawberry shake could have used more strawberry but it was still delicious.. Our friends live in the area and said it's now a go to for lunch or dinner..

Google
This place had amazing service. I brought my dog and they took great care of both of us. They brought my dog a water bowl as it was hot outside and he was thirsty. The burger was great. The shake was the best thing by far. The fries are huge size and tasted great. The parm fries is what I got.

Google
My family's first experience here was great. We got an order of fries and the portion was huge. Definitely enough for 3 people to share. They were hot and fresh. My husband and I both ordered the boss burger. Loved the ploblano pepper and jalapeno mayo on it. It's not too spicy, but has a great little kick to it. We don't like pink on our burgers so we ordered them well done and it was perfect. My daughter got the kids chicken fingers and she really enjoyed it. We also shared a chocolate shake, delicious!! We will definitely come back..

Bridget T.

Yelp
Good burgers and chicken, nice staff, lots of options. A little pricey but it's in a mountain town so to be expected. Also, their shakes are yummy and there is a bar. I'd go back.

Arran D.

Yelp
2 ramens, some chicken strips, and a chicken sandwich with 2 shakes and a fountain drink was 96 dollars without tip. Feels a little outrageous to me. The chicken sandwich was good. I took off the grilled pepper (?) because it made the whole thing taste burned, but it was much better after that. Main complaint is that it fell apart. I had to eat it with a fork and knife. Ramens were bad. It's a weird culture mix because bulgogi is South Korean but ramen is Japanese. I can respect the fusion but the flavor was inexcusable. The protein was not bulgogi. They used the same grilled chicken on my sandwich in the "bulgogi grilled chicken ramen." The "beef bulgogi" was weird and had bacon in it. Broth was inoffensive but overall lacked seasoning. Chicken tenders were good. One of, if not the only, item(s) on the menu that came with fries. For $96, everything should've come with fries. I understand the restaurant's mission to be eco-friendly, and I support it, but these prices are outrageous. If they removed the ramen from the menu and instead allocated those funds to the good items on the menu, I think customers would have a much better experience. Wouldn't be surprised if my bank called and asked about this expenditure because it came out of left field. Ambiance was fine. Music was decent. The woman who took our order was sweet and seemed knowledgeable about the menu. I'm pretty sure she felt bad relating the total. Decent food. Stick to what they're known for and indulge in the shakes. The Dark Cherry and Strawberry were good.

Evette T.

Yelp
No. Very expensive--even for Salida. I ordered 2 burgers well done and 2 milk shakes. $50. To-Go order. The burgers were rare, and the shakes only 2/3 full. . This was their 2nd try for me. I won't be back.

Yelp
A great burger spot right on hwy 50 in Salida. The restaurant is clean and warm, the food was amazing! It was a little pricey but well worth it. The burgers were delicious, the onion rings were huge, and the fries were perfectly cooked. The food took a while to come out, but perfection takes time. Well worth the time and money spend, we'd go back again.

Aimee M.

Yelp
"Where's the beef!?" Ok but not worth the price. I expected a fat, juicy, homemade feeling burger and got a thin-like-Wendy's burger with no seasoning. Had to add salt and pepper. And I NEVER have to season my food, it's often too salty. The toppings were good and fresh but they were the only thing giving the burger any substance. For the price, no. I read the reviews and thought, "well if it's really good quality, I'm willing to pay for it". Nope... Not worth it. The garlic side of fries was huge, enough for two to three people. Tasted good, but if I want onion rings and the person I'm dining with wants fries, we have to agree on one. They're just too big and expensive for one person to each get the side they want, which is unfortunate. Side note: I don't ever tip for fast casual counter service, and I never tip before I know what kind of service has been given... so heads up, you'll be asked to add a tip when you order at the counter. Everyone is doing it so I'm not surprised. Overall, I would not go back due to the lack of seasoning and flavor and the thin burger with a bloated price. Was disappointed.

Meriem B.

Yelp
After getting past the sticker shock for price, I was amazed at how delicious everything was. This was the best burger and onion rings I've had since living in Colorado by far. The onion rings are the biggest I've ever seen and in conjunction with the chipotle dipping sauce, it was AMAZING! My friend ordered the rosemary fries and they were amazing too! I would absolutely come back and try more things on the menu!

Kristen H.

Yelp
The service was excellent! Give those people a raise. The chicken sandwich was very good! My only complaint was it had no flavor, no seasoning it was so plain. It was nothing special. I was a little disappointed but the Garlic rosemary fries were good. My husband had a Burger and said he would try something else. However, he did like his Blue Berry Milk Shake. We will give it another shot!!!!

Tammi B.

Yelp
What a gem of an eatery! Super friendly staff and the rodeo burger was out of the world. Topped off with a black cherry shake, made to perfection in the "old school tradition". The vibe at the restaurant was chill. I felt very comfortable dining alone and could have spent more time there with another beer but the burger and shake had me beyond full. Will be back next trip up to the area.

Andrea G.

Yelp
Would definitely recommend everything was very clean and waitress was extremely nice will definitely return

Chris B.

Yelp
Tasty affordable food, friendly service, clean restaurant. Will probably visit again soon.

Danielle R.

Yelp
This place had the worst fries I've ever had. They tasted like wood chips that's how small and very hard they were. I didn't realize this until I was back to my rental. My boyfriend said the same as well. It was highly disappointing. The sandwich I got was good as a partially redeeming aspect. It was grilled chicken with avocado. Aside from it falling apart trying to eat it, it was edible and tasty. I wouldn't be back based on the fries. I'm a huge fan of fries and when they aren't good or they're hard enough to bang on a table without breaking, that's not good.

Chris C.

Yelp
While exploring this area of CO we realized it was time for lunch and lo and behold we came upon 50 Burger. What a great space. While it was bus, the staff took orders quickly and there was plenty of seating. Everything we ordered was amazing and in large servings, and this is coming from a Texan. We will come back as often as we're in this area. So many choices of food and brew that it'll take us a while to sample it all and that's our intent.

Gordon V.

Yelp
Stopped here on a ski trip. The burger special that day was AWESOME and the Onion rings where fresh made and GREAT. I will most definitely stop here again. The prices are high, but the quality is also high.

Joshua T.

Yelp
Raw or overcooked? Which one would you prefer? I ordered both. We ordered four meals and the kids burger was raw and the falafel we paid extra for in our tasteless salad was over cooked.

Diane G.

Yelp
Great burgers and fries! Other comfort food is available too. I enjoy being able to get a burger on a salad instead of a bun. You can tell this is a chef owned restaurant because of the amazing house made sauces, hand cut fries and other details.

Sarah S.

Yelp
I've never had anything here I haven't liked. The burgers are delicious, but can be messy to eat. The service has always been excellent, and it's quiet enough to be able to heat your group.

Katey T.

Yelp
Fries are very good. Kind of like shoe string style. The burger was 3 out of 5 stars. I got a fifty burger with cheddar. The burger was pretty greasy and lacked a ton of flavor. The atmosphere is great and service was awesome.

Scott B.

Yelp
Low rating is for cost only. Food has alway been great. This past time stopping they completely priced us out. I ordered a burger, side, drink & tip was over $30 for one person. I know time are hard and cost has gone up, but there are other places you can go for much less in cost.

Cee L.

Yelp
One of the best places to eat in Salida. Great owners and staff. Excellent selection of rotating beers. The food is a bit pricey and there's no disguising an old fast food chain.

Brenda S.

Yelp
so good. blue cheese is a real high quality! bun just sturdy enough to hold up to how juicy this burger was. HUGE ONION RINGS! LOVE in house made onion rings super crunchy and flavorful. the only thing I would change is it needs a nice dill pickle to cut all the fat. they had a bread and butter pickle slices but the dill would of rocked. not gonna lie it was a bit pricey but for the quality of products they use it was worth it!

Laura H.

Yelp
Good food. Ok service. Prices are a high. Make sure to let them know how you want your burger cooked, if not I believe they're cooked to medium well- but some of us don't like pink in our burgers.

Beeman S.

Yelp
Love the concept, fast-casual food with a full bar built-in. I was worried when they said that medium was as low as they could go on the burgers, but thankfully medium was still pink in the middle. Delicious burgers, from someone who's kind of a snob about them.

William R.

Yelp
Great burgers, shakes and beer selection. Wide variety of vegetarian options too. Now that's a tasty burger!

Helene P.

Yelp
Amazing burgers, home made pickles, home made sauces, great service, great atmosphere!

Sherry W.

Yelp
The burgers are terrific and the fries were nice and hot and cooked perfectly. Their kitchen is highly efficient and the food came within 10 mins and the place was full.

Lenora F.

Yelp
This was the most delicious burger and cole slaw i have had in awhile. Healthy Food for a fair price. They had gluten-free buns too. The help was friendly, efficient and hard-working. The restaurant was clean and there was a variety of burger combination choices. Thank you for a healthy meal on our visit to Salida, Colorado.

Jordan D.

Yelp
Way overpriced for what it offers. Fries get stale and dry in 10 min despite their "secret" recipe. Bun on the hamburger is not beter than what you get in fastfood chains.

Jennifer H.

Yelp
For what this place is, it's a solid 4. Creative burger options. And lots of options at that. Juicy and good. We ordered the chili cheese fries. A little too many beans and not enough meat / flavor for my preference.

Kevin N.

Yelp
Great pit stop if you are in Salida! It's not in the major downtown section, but it's pretty close. They have a large variety of burgers and plenty of seating (outside or inside). They give you PLENTY of fries. If for some reason you don't order a burger, you can always share a side of fries between 2 people. I got the BONFIRE. Be warned this is a large burger, but very fun. I definitely ate it in bits and pieces. It comes with a fried jalepeno. Warning. It's not sliced jalepenos. It's a whole jalepeno that's fried. It comes with two giant onion rings as well. Everything else was as expected. Tastes great, so don't let the size of it intimidate you!

Jessica J.

Yelp
We hit 50 burger on a trip to Salida. It is easily accessible right off Hwy 50. Plenty of parking. They are following COVID restrictions (so masks, limited seating, etc...). It is counter service, but they also have a bar if you want a beer with your burgers. Hubby got the Stockyard (Beef, bacon, cheddar, ancho bbq, tomato, lettuce) and I got a special, the Reuben Burger (which was brisket burger, sauerkraut, deep fried jalapeño and sauce) and fries. First off, I LOVE their fries. They are the skinny salty kind. Burgers were great. I didn't really get the whole Reuben taste profile in my burger, but it was really delicious. Hubby loved his and I tasted his ancho bbq sauce and was sold! I would come back just for fries and that bbq sauce, but It was all awesome. Great experience. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Place seemed to be hopping, burgers looked to be a little expensive. I say looked to be, because we stopped in because we needed patties for our dogs and didn't actually order or eat any human food. That being said, the patty was more than we are used to paying for a simple dog patty. Dogs seemed to enjoy. Best place for getting a patty for your dog continues to be In-and-Out where the meat is cheap and if you order a patty only, they automatically ask if you want "no salt." I'll be damned if I'm going to drive back to Colorado Springs for a patty, however.

Jason N.

Yelp
Second trip through Salida and second meal at 50 Burger. Burger options for all palates and the shakes were heavy on the ice cream. This time we ordered it to go, and it was ready when promised. If we dined in, I would've had a beer.

Mindy M.

Yelp
Visiting town for one night, chose this place due to proximity to our hotel. Food was excellent- salads, burgers, sandwiches- everything our family ordered was great! Only downside was online ordering wasn't working and phone doesn't get answered so we had to go there order and wait for our takeout. Other than that no complaints!

Michael C.

Yelp
We were in from out of town and a local recommended 50 Burger. It was great! Very fresh and tasty burger with some unique combinations. Draft beers, nice patio, friendly service. Our kids loved it and the "ton of fries" they gave them.

Mary B.

Yelp
This place is way too expensive for the food you get. The hamburger to me was no better than any other traditional hamburger with the exception that you could get toppings of different kinds. Instead of spending $40-50 dollars for 2 hamburgers and drink I would go somewhere else. Oh yes French fries are an extra charge.

Carl B.

Yelp
Stopped here after visiting Monarch Pass. Burgers were really good as well as the sides. Would definitely eat here again.

Mary M.

Yelp
Not only does this place have amazing burgers and fries, but the service was amazing too! We were able to sit outside with our dog and the waitress even brought out a water bowl for him! Extremely happy with this restaurant!

Andy B.

Yelp
4 of us went there. 2 were served hot and fast food, a third burger came out 15 minutes later (cold). 10 minutes later the bulgogi still didn't come. Finally got it to go.

Steve H.

Yelp
I can see why some recent reviews mentioned poor staff attitude. We got the same vibe when walking in. Never been here before and won't be back. It is like ordering at a McDonalds: wait in line, step up to the register and place your order. Pre pay and you're given a number to bring back to a table. Girl at the register was rather curt, no "welcome to 50 Burger" or any similar greeting. No eye contact, no nothing. Over $40 for two burgers, fries, one beer and one fountain drink (and, I pre-tipped 18% hoping there was some follow thru with bar service - nope, didn't happen). I had their western rueben (it was cabbage, no sauerkraut visible/flavor). My son had their Stockyard burger (think swimming in bbq sauce akin to Heinz 57). Far from gourmet. Save your money and go to Wendy's or elsewhere for a better experience. Two star review is being generous really...

Jami W.

Yelp
While on an adventure trip in the mountains, we came here to grab some food and drinks. The reviews/photos looked good and mentioned that they had both breakfast & lunch (which is why we chose this place because, some people wanted breakfast). Unfortunately, they didn't have breakfast (we didn't ask but, there was no menu/items displayed that were breakfast options). When you walk in, all the chairs in the front room were stacked, masks required signs and 6ft X's on the floor-- COVID compliant. The menu (starters, burgers, salads, sandwiches & sides) is largely displayed above the ordering counter-- which is where you order and then sit down with a number. I did think it was more of a sit down so, I was a little thrown off by this ordering systems. As for the food, it took a bit of time for it come out and it wasn't really hot (i.e. the fries & burger)-- a bit of a bummer. The beer was our favorite part--very cold and refreshing. The staff was nice and seemed to work together. They all brought the food + drinks out and made sure every table had what they needed (napkins, sauces).

Shaun M.

Yelp
OH MY!!!! We were looking for just a burger late in the day.... WRONG, this is no 'just a burger' kind of place!!! Just walking up to the place the aroma was amazing. Kind of expensive, but the burgers were ground brisket.... Well worth the ticket price..... we ended up with some onion rings (yum) I had a chocolate malt and my friend chocolate-coconut shake, could hardly finish that!!! Had to forget the burger after all, but they looked incredible!!!!! I'd you're ever even driving through Salida on US 50, be sure to make this a definite stop!!!!!

Diana A.

Yelp
Amazing staff and Yummy burgers! Onion rings were good, fries are okay, needed some salt....BUT perfect for my dad who has to watch his salt intake. Honestly you come here for the burgers, and trust me they do not disappoint!! Also ordered a strawberry shake and it was soooooo good! They even have a small bar with local beers that I'll have to try sometime! Keep up the great work!!

Don H.

Yelp
Bring your appetite! The burgers are amazing! Loved the Canyon Burger and the 50 burger. Salmon sandwich was great. Too bad we are only traveling through, would love to try more.

Amy T.

Yelp
Ok! This place is amazing! I have eaten burgers everywhere and let me tell you this place---gotta stop at!! Loved the Riverside and canyon. Beyond believable. Juice just perfect. Dinner we had ramen bowls. Excellent!!! This place is a must!!

Andy D.

Yelp
Went to 50 Burger on the recommendation of a friend. Don't let the outside fool you. It may look like a made-over fast food joint but that is NOT what you will find inside. Certainly a cut above. The menu has as much variety as you would want for burgers. A lot to choose from. I tried the Bonfire (subbing Swiss for Bleu Cheese) and having onion rings for the side. Both the burger and onion rings were delicious and very filling. The Mrs. had the 50 Burger with cheese and a side of fries. The only down side was the wait time for the food and the price. It's just a little much for a burger (even an excellent burger), about 5 very large onion rings and a drink. I'd visit again if in the mood to splurge.

Brandi H.

Yelp
Great place to stop and grab a bite to eat. We were just passing through and accidentally found this hot spot. I had the Nacho Burger on gluten free bread and sweet potato wedges grilled. Hubby had the 50's burger. Worth the stop!

Heather K.

Yelp
Burger was pretty excellent! Got the Shava and it was delicious! Fries come with so that was a plus because a lot of places in colorado charge extra for sides. Staff was very nice and cool atmosphere. There is a patio area also. Decent beer selection or you can have a boozy shake!

Tara M.

Yelp
10/10. Stopped in after a backpacking trip. Our group ordered a good selection of the menu - Happy Jack (chicken sandwich), fifty with cheese, coconut chocolate milkshake, onion rings, chocolate malt, and steak skewers. Burgers are good size/thickness - easily splittable if ordering other sides/snacks. Chocolate coconut milkshake was unique and delicious! Burgers are a reasonable price considering the size. We sat on the patio since we had dogs with us.

Michael H.

Yelp
Wow. I thought I experienced sticker shock on a recent solo trip to 5 Guys where I spent $11+ on their little hamburger, smallest fries and a fountain drink. Try $38.25 for 3 basic burgers and fries and one chocolate malt. They cook their fresh ground brisket steak burgers medium. Your only other option is well done. Since I am not fond of the mouth feel of uncooked ground beef, I chose well done. Mistake. What I got was a dry, very chewy and quite disappointing flavored burger. The bun, cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato and pickle did nothing to redeem it. I have had other burgers done medium well to well that were still juicy, so I think the problem may be a lack of fat in the grind. The fries are shoestring (thin) and probably quite good if you eat them there. Ten minutes down the road with my to go order they were getting tough and chewy. Since I have described two food items as tough and chewy I must add the disclaimer that, no, I do not have a mouth full of worn down teeth or dentures. The chocolate malt was very good. The interior is roomy and comfortable with a beer bar on one side. The beer selection on the board had several interesting choices including Jai Alai IPA all the way from Cigar City Brewing in Tampa, FL. Most of the choices were from Colorado craft brewers. The counter service was excellent and my to go order came out quickly. There are other menu choices besides burgers that may get me back in to try, but I'll look for my burger elsewhere. Someone else mentioned that this site used to be a Burger King. Hard to believe that inexpensive burger option failed because 50 Burger is steadily busy. Go figure.

Jody B.

Yelp
Loved this place!!! Burgers are phenomenal! Sat at the bar, Jen was great!! Great Burger bar atmosphere, local meat, fast service!!!
