The 29 Best Restaurants In Lisbon - Lisbon - The Infatuation

"The odds of finding tourists at this traditional Portuguese spot located in the middle of a narrow street in Alcântara are low, unless they’re tagging along with a local. The menu is big, and the portions even bigger. Grab a spot at one of the wooden tables on either of the two floors and order a few things to split, like the scrambled eggs with farinheira, cod fritters and fried green beans, or the crunchy bite-size fish poppers that are deep fried in olive oil. No matter how full you are, don’t skip the serradura, a whipped cream and butter cookie crumble, for dessert." - rita geraldes

It was my first meal in Portugal and it reached my soul, SPECTACULAR!!!! All the dishes were new to my palate and I really felt the diference between other cuisines and this one. We loved the service 🫶🏻, we saw the passion, joy and vocation. The portions are giant 🙀 but that have us more opportunities to enjoy them. Please don’t miss this restaurant!

We had a wonderful meal here tonight. I have a gluten intolerance and the kitchen was able to adjust a dish but also, most of meat menu was already GF. Our server was so kind and was able to take us through the menu and tell us what each dish came with. We are staying in the area and will try to get back there this week! Such a great find!

We came to this place without planning and it was amazing!!!! The service was great, they explained every dish on the menu to us and they gave us great reccomendations. They were all lovely people. The food was incredible!!! Traditional dishes that we had never tried before, truly authentic food. The portions were super big as well. 100% recommended.

The food was delightful and service equally as. We were given a chalkboard menu of the dishes available. The man kindly explained each of the dishes to us. We ordered a grilled octopus, and a arroz di pato (rice with duck). The rice portion was just enough for 4.

A rare “Cinco Estrelas” for 55 Maravilhas for the outstanding slow cooked pork with clams and the salty coffee soaked bolo de bolachas.

Yelp
This was a nice restaurant my friends took me to for dinner. The fish was well made and there was a large pot of black stew which was really good! I can't remember the name of it because they ordered it for the table.

Yelp
We visited 50 Maravilhas last night on our daughter's recommendation. She said it was a neighborhood restaurant and based on the way the proprietor greeted his guests, I'm sure that is true. The restaurant was filled with local families holding reservations. The owner said he was fully booked at 9, but if we could eat in 1.25 hrs he could seat us. Yeah! We had bread with spreads, olives and cheese to start with a lovely vinho mindho 2021. We ordered grilled sea bass - whole fish salted and grilled perfectly. Accompanied with a fresh lettuce tomato and shaved onion salad dressed with local olive oil and light wine vinegar -- simple perfection. We also ordered a full Portuguese chicken rice with red wine sauce. Fantastic flavor! The portion size was immense so choose the half order for one. The staff were highly attentive and friendly. Thank you!
