Greeted promptly. Sat quickly. Hostess was pleasant. Waitress took drink order and app order quickly and I have to say the poutine is LEGIT!! Food was quick and fresh. Great place off the beaten path! Games and fun included in experience!! Great job!

Stopped here for dinner on our way back to our hotel from downtown Nashville. Bartender was very friendly and welcoming! I ordered shrimp tacos and my boyfriend ordered street tacos. They were both fresh and delicious!

Went for brunch. Had a fun mocktail and loaded breakfast fries. Good food snd drink and very courteous staff. Outdoor patio and indoor seating did not feel cramped. Limited parking but was able to find free street parking easily.

Prescious with Offline - Riley saved the day!!! We came in late night for a quick bite to eat on a Saturday. I had the Cobb Salad and my friend had the smothered fried chicken over mashed potatoes. My Cobb Salad was great! My friend had an issue with the inside crust of her chicken being burned but not the outside crust or the chicken itself. I couldn't for the life of me figure out how that happened (picture of the skin below). My waiter was confused as well. Riley jumped right on it and made sure that we had an awesome experience. We are regulars. This is probably the 8th time that we have been there and the food is always good. This was just a bad night for the fryer. You will enjoy the neighborhood atmosphere, the cheap drinks, and the attentive staff.

This place is one of our regular neighborhood go-to spots. The staff is friendly, food and drinks are consistently tasty and the atmosphere is always welcoming.

Updated review on February 1st, 2025: Came here for Nashville hot chicken week and everything about this restaurant is still awesome from the servers to the quality of the food! Great food and welcoming atmosphere. We sat at the bar and really enjoyed watching the bartenders, the TVs, and chatting with folks next to us. I forgot to take pictures of our food, but I recommend the hamburger steak over greens and potatoes (get it over fries and ask for extra gravy and you've got a pretty awesome southern poutine!)

Google
Neighborhood bar and grill with great choices on craft beers and has drink specials every weekday. My favorites are on Mondays 2-4-1 drafts and $2 off local draft Thursdays. Our go tos the hot, fresh french fries which are amazing. Some of the best french fries I have ever had. The rib eye steak tacos were fantastic in every aspect. Update April 2024 We went in for dinner and had a fantastic time! We ordered the fish and chips, grilled salmon entree and the avocado BLT. All were delectable. The cheese grits, mashed potatoes and the Gouda Mac and cheese are all excellent! The whole service team are helpful and friendly. Update July 2024 This place is still one of my favorite restaurants in Nashville. We tried their SBLT, salmon BLT. It was an open flame grilled salmon filet served in a BLT and it was delicious. All their food remains consistently great! There is always such a wonderful and fun atmosphere at this establishment. Along with the inviting and excellent service you receive here!

Our waitress Bre. She is really good. I wish a lot of waitresses was as good as her that’s why we come back because of her sweet smile but she is so nice. She’s got a great personality.😃😃😃

Yelp
My women's and nonbinary ultimate frisbee team and I needed a pick-me-up this weekend. We'd just finished off a crucial second game of our double-header against the Nashville Nightshade with a coveted win of 19-14, having compartmentalized an upsetting loss against Atlanta Soul just the night before. Two years ago, we'd celebrated this win a little too hard by spiking White Claws in our venue's locker rooms. So, we only had a quick 15 minutes to shower, get changed, and get a move on. We were in search of drinks and food--nothing too deep. 51 North Taproom had just what we needed. I'm the kind of player who has no idea how much of an appetite I've worked up by playing semi-professional ultimate frisbee, in the heat, and on turf until I have that first bite in my body. Boy was I DELIGHTED to see that the kid's meal chicken quesadilla* I ordered was as generously sized as it was priced. My fellow D Line handler also ordered a kid's meal plate of buttered noodles with chicken. We relished in nourishing our bodies, preparing them for whatever liquid celebrations would chug in the few hours before our flight home. After a meal well-served, our checks were quickly taken care of, thanks to our attentive server. I'm sitting here on the ambient front step of the establishment, waiting for the team to deliberate what our next move is. What I do NOT need time to deliberate on is giving this fine establishment 5 Stars for fair pricing, satisfying quality, and attentive service. * I will say, I ordered a side of (Gouda?) Mac and cheese, and the first bite was jarringly unique. It eventually grew onto me. But be warned: this is NOT your ordinary cheddar Mac n cheese

Yelp
Decided to stop by for what we thought was going to be good food according to the reviews. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. The atmosphere is clean and friendly. Staff and the waiter were professional and personable. We ordered some wings with chimichurri and two cocktails (autumn sangria and fall fashion). The wings were beautifully cooked but tasteless. It was extremely disappointing. The cocktails were wonderful. We also ordered the gnocchi, Mac & cheese, and steak street tacos. The gnocchi itself was tasty but the sauce and veggies were bland. The street tacos were good, but not great. My partner was so disappointed over his Mac--flavorless. If it weren't for staff and the drinks, i would've given this place one star :(

Yelp
This place is unbelievable. Great draft beers, friendly staff and some of the best food in Nashville. The menu variety is spectacular. I highly recommended the Nachos, Ribeye Quesadilla and the Gobblin Goat sandwich.

Yelp
Super chic hipster bar with cold draft beers. I tried a beer flight, loved two out of three. The lamb pops and oysters hit the spot for a light Monday lunch with a friend. Service seemed fast because I was enjoying the company. Def will come back for the other appetizer options.

Yelp
Not bad but not overly good. If I lived near by I could see going once in a while but not worth driving across town for. The food was fine. The service was a bit slow and we had multiple people checking on us which was a bit confusing.
google avatar

Yelp
A neat place. A little twist on everything. A fun place to just hang out and enjoy friends.

Yelp
Consistently good service and food. They recently added darts and shuffleboard to the entertainment area. The kale salad with salmon is one I repeat often. I have had most things on the menu and there is something for everyone including vegan options.

Yelp
food so good, didn't even get the pictures! will be back to try more menu items! shouts to our server for being patient and kind! note that the sauce on the bbq chicken pizza has habaneros in it literal fire but delicious! lots to look at around the restaurant, eclectic decor. thanks for the great service before our evening show!
google avatar

Yelp
Drinks were not well made. Bartender was probably new or not that knowledgeable. Ordered an IPA and turned out it was non-alcoholic... so I didn't order food since the drinks were such a problem.... eat at your own risk!

Yelp
I have always had a good experience at 51 Taproom. Good food. Good service. That is why I'm so disappointed because I had terrible service tonight. I placed my order and my drink showed up fairly quick. After an hour of no food and seeing the table next to me get their food after being there for only about 20 minutes I flagged my waiter down and asked about my tacos. Note: he had checked on me a couple times since my order so I assumed he hadn't forgotten me completely which is why I didn't ask earlier. Well he had forgotten and quickly went to place my food order. He came back and apologized and said he would comp the food. I waited another 20 minutes for the food to show up. The waiter never came back. I sat there for another 40 minutes after receiving my food with no one checking on me and empty glasses. I finally flagged a different waiter down and asked for my bill. Nothing was comped. I paid full price (which I ate the food so im fine with) and did not see my waiter anywhere. I left zero tip and with a bad taste in my mouth (not from the food).

Yelp
What a great find! At 6 pm on a Sunday evening the restaurant was about a quarter full, and the wait staff was relaxed but just attentive enough. With plenty of space between tables, you actually have space to move and have conversations without feeling like everyone around is a member of your party. Prices are comparable to other casual dining restaurants in the area ($17 for fish and chips, $6-7 for a craft beer), but our food was not typical. The gnocchi with house-made bread was incredible, and the Falconburgh with ribeye and fish and chips entrees both got rave reviews. The Gouda appetizer was a little bland, so we would skip that next time, but 51 North will definitely go on our Nashville rotation.

Yelp
This was my first time coming to 51 North Taproom and I had a good time! The service was decent, food was fun and prices were reasonable. My burger was cooked absolutely perfectly - a huge deal for me - and the fries were so tasty I almost ate every single one. An easy place to grab a bite, a chill environment - you'll be happy you popped in!

Yelp
Went for a quick dinner and grabbed the crispy shrimp tacos and the $5 margarita happy hour special. Not crowded at 6pm on a Wednesday and service was quick. The tacos were FANTASTIC!! Shrimp was so crispy and were rather large. Comes with three tacos which was plenty. Slaw was fresh and the chipotle Mayo gave it the flavor it needed without too much heat. The margarita completed the tacos well. I will definitely be back to grab again.

Yelp
We were fortunate to eat outside last week with our dog in the covered patio. Our service was great and attentive. I started with a glass of their Pinot Noir and thought it was good. For entrees, I had the Falconburgh with smoked chicken. I thought it was delicious - and quite large. My husband got the Nations Melt and also really enjoyed it. We're only in Nashville for a short amount of time so unfortunately, I don't think we'll be able to go back but I definitely recommend the place.

Yelp
I came here without any expectations. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food, book, atmosphere, and service. I got their chicken tacos which were decent street tacos. I think it was missing something to give it a less dry taste. The tortillas were quite dry as well as the best itself. Their verde salsa doesn't have much spice to it. It would be great if they served this with a more watery, spicier salsa, or even a nice juicy, blistered, whole jalapeño would be great as well. We also got their fish and chips, which were awesome. The fish was so tender and juicy, and the fries were fried perfectly. The best part is their homemade tartar sauce which is a little chunky and spicy! I could eat the sauce alone and be content. They have a ton of beers, including 2-for-1 beers on Mondays, which is when we came. Staff were very friendly and helpful throughout. I really enjoyed this restaurant as it had really solid food, and the experience was fantastic.

Yelp
51 North Taproom was this week's choice for date night, and it was absolutely wonderful! I started with a spicy margarita and had the nachos with spicy beef as my entree. The marg was delicious, and the nachos were incredible. They did not skimp on the toppings! I liked that the jalapeños were on the side, as the spicy beef alone was the perfect spice level for me. My boyfriend had the 51 N Cobb Salad and it looked amazing! He opted for one of the local drafts, they have an extensive list of them. The service was just as wonderful as the food! Our waitress was attentive, and we received our food and drinks quickly. The service alone makes me excited to return.

Yelp
First time in to the 51 North Taproom for dinner. Was there pleasantly surprised by the service, as well as the great tasting food and drinks. I had a local draft beer from their extensive beer list paired with their 51st salad which was delicious (see picture). Moving to the nations soon so excited to be able to come back on a regular basis!

Yelp
Super friendly and kind folks. Nice specials and great beer selection. Pet friendly to well behaved dogs on the patio. Super convenient location, will definitely visit again!
google avatar

Yelp
Good choice of beer. Casual atmosphere. Friendly staff. But the poutine, that is amazing. Go get yourself a plate of fries drowned in brown gravy and melted cheese curds. Your welcome.

Meki W.

Yelp
Food is Bland. The beef on the Queso dip was dried out and tasteless. Ordered street tacos as the entree and they charged a $1.00 for cheese. When and where do you eat tacos with no cheese? It came with only cilantro and onions .
google avatar

Yelp
Love this place. Always great service. My strawberry greens salad with chicken was a clean plate club entry. Great beer list on draft. Will be back soon.

Yelp
Me and a friend stopped by here for dinner and the service was very good. Our waiter was nice, funny and attentive. The drinks were really good and our food was hot and fresh! The nations melt was delicious! We also stayed and played trivia since we were there and lost horribly lol. This is a really cool place, check it out!!
google avatar

Christina D.

Yelp
Pretty much what you would expect. I had a burger and fries which was decent. Servers were a bit slow to service and forgot a thing or two, but were overall nice. The place had a fun vibe and if consider combing back if I wanted a chill place with decent food and decent drink specials.
google avatar

Adam D.

Yelp
Sunday brunch on the patio was fantastic. Very family friendly environment. Service was great, very attentive and knowledgeable staff. Crispy Shrimp Tacos, and Bloody Mary - fantastic. Shrimp & chips, and grapefruit mimosa - yum!! Egg sandwich panini and pineapple mimosa - also yum!! French toast was shared at the table, was awesome. We'll be back!! Ambience was great!! Highly recommend dining / brunch here.
google avatar

Yelp
Came in on Memorial Day to enjoy a drink and their patio seating. Server was super friendly and kept up for the most part even with him being busy. First time having a Bloody Mary with a guiness in it and it did not disappoint. They seem to have good daily specials as well. Will be back since it's in the neighborhood
google avatar

Alexander D.

Yelp
We had a great time here for a graduation celebration dinner and they were able to accommodate our large party with no problem at all. The servers made sure we were taken care of and having a great time. The restaurant features both indoor and patio seating options. I recommend the shrimp po boy for a main dish as it has everything a good po boy would need. I also recommend their nachos and wings for starters.
google avatar

Yelp
This place has been here for a while, but while looking for something different while riding through the nations we "yelped" this place and decided to give it a try. The host and wait staff were very prompt, welcoming, and informative when inquiring about the items as this was the first time in this establishment. On Saturdays their brunch lasts until 4pm, which is great for the late risers. They also offer $2 off for ordering local canned beers. Their beer menu is endless, so many to choose from. We ordered a jackelope bearwalker and yazoo dos perros, both were really good. It wasn't our first time having these though! The menu had a wide variety of options and our server recommended quite a few things, which lead us to the chicken sandwich. The chicken sandwich was seasoned perfectly and was tender, but only complaint is with every bite the breading separated from the chicken. Which made the sandwich a little too messy for my liking. Don't get me wrong, it still was very good. Fries were cooked perfectly with the right amount of crisp and salted perfectly for flavoring. The queso dip and Mac and cheese are both gouda based that lacked flavoring big time. Overall, I would recommend this place and will return one day to try out their oysters.

Yelp
On our recent trip to Nashville, we stayed in the nearby Sylvan Heights neighborhood and were looking for a chill neighborhood spot with a patio to grab a drink and dinner at...and we found just that in 51 North Taproom! 51 North, which is the sister restaurant to the long standing 12 South Taproom and Grill in downtown, is located in The Nations part of the city and not only features a decent sized and well laid out patio (which is dog friendly!), but also a large, open indoor dining and taproom if outside isn't your vibe. They have about 32 rotating taps, several of which are local brews, along with a wide variety of cans and bottles and if beer isn't your thing they also have a full bar and specialty cocktail list. Food wise, they don't really have a particular variety of food they serve...the menu is a mix of all types from your standard burgers and sandwiches to pizza, quesadillas, tacos, oysters, pork loin, lamb, grits, collard greens and even poutine! Basically there is something here for every person in your party! We started our meal out with the Smoke Gouda Queso, which honestly was a little underwhelming. It was decent queso, but nothing we would order again. For dinner we got the 51 North Cobb and the Gobblin Goat sandwich. The salad was hefty in size and well put together. It was a nice cobb salad with a southeastern flare with the pico, corn salad and spicy ranch. The Gobblin Goat is their version of a turkey sandwich with spiced goat cheese along with spinach and sun-dried tomatoes. It was a solid sandwich! I sided it with the sautéed green beans, which were okay. Service was decent, our server seemed to have an attitude and really wasn't for us asking questions about the menus. It wasn't rude, but you could tell he was ready for the day to be over. We just made sure to be purposeful during his visits to the table. Overall, we enjoyed 51 North Taproom and it is definitely on our "visit again" list for future visits, especially when we stay on this side of the city!

Yelp
Finally had a chance to stop in here and glad we did! Service was fantastic and they provide some great beer recommendations. Good selection of local beers! The Bloody Mary was delicious and spicy. Started with the mussels and the broth was fantastic! Probably some of the best mussels I have had locally. Fresh oysters were fresh and delicious! Again, probably best I have had locally. Fish & Chips were okay. Chips were fantastic and the fish itself was delicious. The fish breading was a little heavy for me - almost like a giant fish stick and took away from the fish (everyone has their own preference - I like a lighter batter), but it was delicious. Our little one had the grilled cheese - no complaints and it was the cheesiest! The place itself is fun and lively. Lots of TVs around and great patio area. Plus they have this cool little corner with a couch and tv that seems cozy! I will say all their food and drinks were delicious and overall a fantastic experience!

Yelp
I am hooked on their Caesar salad- so unique and delicious! Parking isn't great, but such is that area.
google avatar

Yelp
Met a client here for lunch. This is the 4th time I have been here over the years and have only been there for lunch. It has never really been overly busy at lunch and I assume it's busy during dinner and the later evening. I have always enjoyed every meal I have had there and it's a solid spot with enough variety of menu to meet what anyone has a taste for in my opinion. They have a nice selection of draft beer as well. Good spot if you are on that side of town
google avatar

Monica S.

Yelp
The fries were good. The service was not. We had 3 different people run our food and didn't get any refills . It took a long time to get someone to help us cash out. I don't remember who our server was, we only saw him once. Overall I felt that this is a trendy location that offers a variety of food, a fun patio if you want to drink beer with your friends on a hot day. But as far as the food it was overpriced and pretty bland.
google avatar

Shandelle B.

Yelp
I really like this place! The vibe is very chill. They have indoor and outdoor seating with a bright cheery atmosphere. Great neighborhood spot! We were greeted and seated immediately. Everyone had a mask until seated and hand sanitizer was supplied. Tables were plenty far apart from one another so we felt COVID-safe. Our waiter was very friendly and checked on us regularly. We only stopped in for drinks, but I can't wait to come back for a meal. I was surprised to see Lambrusco on the menu so I had to order it. I could see this becoming a routine spot for my husband and I in the future and I'm glad it's not too far from where we live. I saw that they had margarita specials during the week, so I'd say it's a definite that I'll be back.
google avatar

Mark B.

Yelp
Shrimp poboy is awesome, great atmosphere and beers. Can't loose. Outdoor seating is awesome.
google avatar

Talia S.

Yelp
My friend recommended this spot so we went to give it a try! The menu has lots of options and the specials were plentiful. Also, every day seems to have a drink special as well! It was hard to pick what to eat, but our server was knowledgeable and helped direct us. My friend got the gnocchi special and I tried a bit, it was yummy! I got the crispy shrimp tacos, but subbed the fried shrimp for grilled shrimp. I wasn't super hungry, so this definitely did the trick. It had lots of colors on the plate and was packed with flavor. I would definitely recommend both of these dishes. I look forward to going back here and trying some new menu items!
google avatar

Yelp
Nice beer selection. Good guacamole and chips. Chicken tacos and Cobb salad also well-prepared. They do have a nice variety of local brews

Yelp
51 Taproom gets the job done for quick, good food in the Nations. They have lots of local beers on tap and a solid menu. Friendly mellow staff.

Yelp
Having been to the sister restaurant, 12 South Taproom, I was looking forward to trying out 51 North which is in the Nations. I had made reservations just in case they were busy but since we came early there were plenty of tables indoors and a few outdoors. I noticed they had put little signs on the tables that had been sanitized in between customers which i appreciate. Service was great and all employees were super friendly. We started out with a round of beers on tap. I got the Blackberry Farm Goat Hill which is a pretty good pale ale. I ordered the tacos de Alambres and my dining companions ordered the shrimp quesadilla and the 51 burger. We all enjoyed what we ordered and everything was reasonably priced as well. Will definitely be back again to this chill restaurant!

Yelp
Heard about this place through the Next Door app. I arrived at opening, was seated quickly outside in the heated and covered patio as requested. The hostess and waitress were great and quick. At first I was concerned about the menu selection - a place that's a taproom but serves seared ahi and ribeye next to tacos and poutine? It was giving scaled down Cheesecake Factory vibes on the menu but I went with the shrimp tacos. Y'all. The creaminess of the avocado paired with the tang of the slaw and the crispy shrimp made this a home run. Huge portion of three tacos and I was full after one. So the food was a big yep for me. Watching the other patrons get their food - not a single plate looked less than spectacular. Important things I noticed though: 1.) This place is LOCAL. Its not just down to the local beers on tap like Jackleope or Yazoo; it's the small things like the hand soap in the women's bathroom is from Thistle Farms. It is quintessentially the vibe of The Nations and Sylvan Park. 2.) Family friendly; this place can equally be a spot to bring a business partner, date, your dog or your family. The kids menu covers all the bases and they have collapsible water bowls for your furry friends. Minutes after opening it was filling with families, girls out for brunch mimosas, and some local business folk hashing out sales reports over a plate of oysters. 3.) The manager Joe brought my food. There was no inflated sense of ego with this dude. He was chill as can be and made recommendations at my request. The only thing missing from their menu would be a BYOB - Build your own burger. I say this only because as you peruse the menu the extensive variation of ingredients would be a BYOB dream - red onions, pickled onions, carmelized onions, goat cheese, argula, mixed greens, sundried tomatoes, and several sauces. This ain't your lettuce, tomato, pickle and condiment burger place. They would be able to easily elevate a standard burger. All in all 10/10 would recommend.

Yelp
Marilyn was absolutely amazing. She is beyond kind and personable. She made us feel like a family member was bartending. She is really knowledgeable about the business and super great at reacting to customer wants and creating something to make people happy. She is an absolute gift. The simple syrups are very unique and high quality. It was really nice to be able to add them to flavor drinks. The Gouda Queso was also really unique and delicious. I would definitely say that Marilyn made the experience though, it is really hard to find her quality of service and attentiveness.

Zach S.

Yelp
The food was really great. I'm kicking myself it took me this long to try it. Will definitely return soon!

Yelp
I love this place. We've driven by a number of times but never stopped in, until our power was out one weekday afternoon for several hours. We packed up our dog and laptops and drove down here for a late lunch. The patio is dog friendly, we had a seat in the shade, and the wifi connection was strong and reliable! This was key on a day when we had work to do and weren't able to do it at home. We ordered an array of appetizers (hummus with fried pita and vegetables and ahi tostadas) and my boyfriend got some type of sandwich with a side Caesar salad (it was a HUGE salad, and very good). I had a fruity beer, too. Our waiter was kind, attentive, and quick to confirm we had everything we needed. I'm so glad we decided to stop in, and can't wait to come back!

Yelp
My friend and I were just about at the end of our tethers. We'd been driving around Nashville neighborhoods for more than an hour, looking for somewhere to have brunch where there wasn't a massive line or $20 parking. Downtown was a bust. Hillsboro Village was a bust. Midtown was packed. The Gulch was a bust, so I did a search for near West. We ended up at 51 North Taproom. Never have we enjoyed such a fortuitous dart throw. Our server, Rachel B, was friendly, fast and helpful. I had "An Adult Beverage," a tasty combination of gin, prosecco and two bitter aperitifs. My friend had a satisfying mimosa and a good cup of coffee. She had a Taproom Breakfast Bowl, which she enjoyed a lot. I had the amazing Loaded Breakfast Fries, sans bacon. The gouda cheese sauce is to die for! It was a decadent, gooey, comforting treat and the meal completely restored us. Nice job, 51! You're a gem.

Yelp
The food was absolutely amazing. Great courteous staff and friendly management. I highly recommend the lamb pops.

Yelp
We tried this place out because they had poutine on the menu. When we first got there the host didn't even greet us. He just stood there staring at us. So I told him we were a party of 2. He didn't say anything but grabbed menus so we followed. The poutine was "so-so". I ordered the chicken special quesadilla, it was very good. My husband ordered the Nations Melt and fries. Once our food came out, the food runner asked if we needed anything and my husband asked for ketchup. The ketchup was never brought to us. Our server never came and checked on us. The last time we saw her was when she took our orders at the beginning. My husband took two bites and didn't like his sandwich so we split my quesadilla which he also liked. Had our server come by and checked on us she would have known that he needed ketchup and that he did not like his meal. Our drinks stayed empty and never refilled because our server never came by. We sat around waiting for our check and tried to flag her down. Eventually some other guy brought us our check. I'm not sure if we will be back or not. I normally like to give places a second chance so we might come back.

Yelp
Great drinks. Friendly, if not exceptional, service. Great menu. Decent food. Drinks - great craft beer selection and cocktails. My wife loved the Bali Hai. Food - shrimp tacos were great. Most everything else needed some spice to liven it up. Service - made the effort but not super informed on the menu. Overall - I would go back but ask for some hot sauce and salt.

Yelp
We had a great working lunch close to the office on a quiet Monday! Veggies were healthy but yummy. Queso was different than your average Mexican restaurant, but very good. Tacos were decent! Definitely a good place to get stuff done in a chill atmosphere!

Yelp
Everything on the menu here is pretty darn good and there is a wide variety of menu items to choose from. The service is really good too and huge selection of beer and drinks.

Yelp
Great burgers! The Brussels Sprout pizza was delicious (added some bacon to it). They have a good selection of Moscow Mules. If you like beer, they have a wide selection of local and regional craft beers.
