516 Arts is a cutting edge gallery, presenting artwork that resonates with so many different demographics. I have enjoyed their last two shows immensely and appreciate their attention to detail. I also appreciate the variety of artists they bring in, very diverse. 5/5 stars

Awesome space, 2 floors, you may have to wait a few minutes to enter after hitting the doorbell but it’s worth it! The show up now is so good!

Do not miss a chance to see every exhibition (and program) produced by this stellar organization. The space lends itself to outstanding shows with multiple materials, including video and sound installations. The program is savvy and contemporary and yet it is thoughtful and socially conscious. This is a special place in Albuquerque.

Google
Great place, always has something cool to see or experience. Parking is hit and miss and downtown is downtown. There is almost always an unhinged Christian preaching about the fires of hell on the corner. I would suggest visiting in the daylight and I’m not joking.

Yelp
They are advertised as open. However I drove 20 minutes and paid parking for it to be closed. Very disappointed for the false advertisement

Yelp
They're finally open again, yay! I'm a firm believer that art should be accessible and it's awesome that places like 516 exist. Today I went with a friend to first Friday and this is the first time 516 has been open during the event for quite awhile. They had a great exhibit focused on Haitian and francophone Caribbean art. Again, it's free art open to the community so I'm just thankful that it exists. Even if a specific exhibit isn't your exact preference, it's always worth going back.

Yelp
This little known art museum in the heart of downtown is a gem. Smart curatorial staff, salient show themes, and a beautiful space make this well worth a visit.

Yelp
An upscale art gallery in downtown Albuquerque. They are very focused on community outreach and education through art. Every exhibit I've seen there is well curated and top-of-the line art. They also work hard to provide opportunities to local artists as well. I really recommend a visit to 516 Arts. A clean, sleek and beautiful gallery space. Every time I enter, I feel like I could be in a classy art gallery somewhere in New York City.

Yelp
Amazing exhibit that I heard about and went to see! What a great space , not sure how this exhibit is running but if you are downtown, you should go check it out! Those wall designs you see? REAL INSECTS incredible!! Also, it's free to get in but please, make a donation! It's worth it. Let's support the arts!

Yelp
What a cool arts space! This gallery is right downtown on Central. It's got 2 stories of art. When I went, they were having an exhibit on the aftermath of Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico. It had a bit of a political spin to it, and pushed some buttons, pushing the line of controversy, provoking conversations and thought, which I liked. The art came in various media, and was well lit and had placards letting you know what you're looking at. They also provided brochures and programs at no cost. The staff was friendly, and the visit was free! They have to buzz you in, there's a doorbell at the entrance. They have a small gift area upstairs, with reasonably priced prints and other mementos. The place seems to run on donations. The whole gallery was one exhibit, which really showed the depth of their collection and curation. Parking can be a bit challenging, as it's right on the Central strip. There's metered parking out front. I suggest checking it out! The place is more about showing off the work than trying to sell it to you.

Yelp
516 is a fantastic resource and anchor for contemporary art, both in Downtown Albuquerque and in the region. Over the last decade the team there has consistently worked with local, national, and international artists to create installations that are thought provoking, relevant, and consistently executed across a variety of mediums, incl. visual arts, mixed media, sculpture, street art & murals, and more. In addition to hosting exhibitions, in the last few years they've deeply engaged with other arts organizations and anchors, as well as piloting and growing the Andy Warhol Foundation For The Visual Arts' Fulcrum Fund, which supports independent, artist-led projects and spaces, and is an important add to the arts ecosystem in New Mexico. Definitely recommend a visit if you're looking to get more patched in to the creative community, and see what's new!

Yelp
Looking for an art gallery that's not afraid of pushing the artist buttons, 516 is it. Went for the gallery opening of US-Mexico boarder exhibit .
