"51st Deli flies under the radar and those who have experienced all it has to offer would prefer to keep it that way. Housed in the space formerly home to Savemore Super Market, the deli specializes in hot and cold sandwiches and also serves a well-rounded menu of all-day breakfast, salads (from chicken salad to ceviche), tacos, and burgers. Good luck trying to keep this well-kept secret to yourself." - Kellie Walton, Alex Hendrickson

"At 51st Street Deli in the Nations, you can grab everything from grocery store essentials to tacos and a proper sandwich in one fell swoop. You can’t go wrong with Southern standards like a BLT, chicken salad, or fried bologna sandwich. Other options point to regional favorites, like a Reuben sandwich, Cubano, or Philly cheesesteak." - Kellie Walton, Jackie Gutierrez-Jones

"51st Deli is part convenience store, part deli - and it’s where you can order the best breakfast tacos or a pastrami on rye, while also grabbing hot dogs for tomorrow’s cookout. There’s a grocery section full of things like Topo Chico sparkling water, kombucha, and Mexican sodas and they offer a daily Happy Hour with $1 domestic beers. Hang out until they close at 9pm, then head across the street to The Centennial, a wood-paneled dive bar with a surprisingly good craft beer selection and a large-scale mural of the late Patrick Swayze." - Kristen Shoates

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 51st Deli is hands down one of the best spots in Nashville! Whether you’re grabbing a quick bite or meeting up with friends, this place has it all. As a vegetarian, I have to say their black bean burger is the best I’ve had in the Nashville area! The patty is perfectly seasoned, hearty, and full of flavor—seriously, it’s a must-try. Even if you’re not vegetarian, there’s something for everyone. The Legend sub is another favorite of mine—fresh, loaded, and incredibly satisfying. Their service is always quick and friendly, and the laid-back atmosphere keeps me coming back. If you’re in the area, don’t miss out on this gem!

You have to try this place out. It has a little bit of everything. Sub, soups, salad, breakfast all day. I love the street taco. Since my favorite taco joint is no longer in business. This will be my new taco spot.

Google
This deli is phenomenal! I many options making it hard to chose one thing! The avocado turkey sub and lemonade we had was amazing. The lemonade is a must sour and authentic full of flavor I’ll go back just for it! I will definitely be coming back when in the area 😋

Google
First time and wow they have everything food and drinks.. got a turkey bacon sandwich which the cashier recommend and she nailed it! Exactly what I was looking for, a fresh good old deli sandwich! The horchata was also very good! I will definitely stop by next time I’m in Nashville!

The food is always good and they have very large portions. Great place to eat if you’re in a hurry and hungry. My favorite is the Cuban sandwich

Check your order before you leave. Kitchen staff seems to willfully disregard or ignore what the ticket says. Ordered a sausage egg and cheese biscuit, add bacon. They ran out of biscuits, so I got it on a bagel. Did my order have bacon when I got home? Nope. Also ordered breakfast burrito with turkey sausage and no potatoes. Guess what was on the burrito? Potatoes and regular sausage. Oh and guess what was on my bagel? Turkey sausage. Multiple strikes in the same visit. Will be checking orders for accuracy from now on before I leave with my food. While the food is good, if I pay extra for something like bacon, I expect it to be included, otherwise you're just taking my money for no reason. Will no longer be leaving tips on my orders here. It is also very cold in the dining area since they changed their refrigerator setup where there are no longer doors to access the items. I don't understand why there needs to be such a large selection of drinks everywhere. It's almost as if this place doesn't know if it wants to be a restaurant or a convenience store, so it's a weird hodgepodge of both.

Google
This is a wonderful deli. Please do not hesitate to go here. They have a wonderful selection of sandwiches and other items like tamales and salads. You will find multiple things here that are delicious. So far the Cuban & turkey avocado sandwiches have been my favorites. Look forward to going back!

Google
Started a new job in Nashville and my co-worker took me here for lunch. Not only was I able to get a sausage egg and cheese sandwich on an everything bagel for lunch but it was AMAZING! Small place and you know it's good when it's packed. Expect a lot of people at busy times but they are pretty efficient imo.

Yelp
51st is a STAPLE!! Their menu has something for everyone & then you see the ENDLESS choices for drinks and chips. Service is always great, staff is friendly & they are always super quick. Tables are nothing fancy, but they do the trick. Only complaint is the parking, but usually can find free street parking.

Yelp
Mood: Quick Lunch Very close to TSU & a neighborhood staple. Was so crowded and crazy thing not a long wait. They get you in & out no problem. The variety of beverages are short to none! When I tell you every drink you can think of they have. LOVE Inside was clean and smelled like some good food coming from behind the counter. Service was very good. Local hot spot. Lunch eats: The Vegetarian 8/10: i love a good bean burger. This one had mild flavor but still pretty good. Will next time maybe add a sauce to the burger. Turkey Avocado club 9/10: can't go wrong with a club sandwich. Did the job right. Will be going back to try more items and of course more beverages.

Rachel M.

Yelp
So very good all the time! Excellent service and quality ingredients. It's pretty much always busy but they get you in and out quickly.

Yelp
Everything here is delicious!!!!!! My favorite is their breakfast burrito & their avocado sandwich!!

Shay H.

Yelp
Stopped by for a quick bite, and as usual, they did not disappoint! The staff is fantastic, the food is always fresh, and they offer a variety of local goods. Word to the wise: try a Vybe

Hadley B.

Yelp
This restaurant is super super good and had a great ambiance. I didn't have much interaction with the staff, but they were nice. My sandwich was delicious and I can't wait to come back to eat it again! Highly recommend for a casual bite

Yelp
This was a good find. They have a good variety of sandwiches on the menu, as well as tacos, breakfast, a number of side dish and salad options, and more. From the outside this place looks almost like it might be a dive bar. But don't be fooled! This is a good spot for a meal any time of day. So far my favorite has been The Cuban sandwich. The pork was tender and juicy, and the overall flavors were great. I've also had The Legend sandwich, which was good, though the roast beef wasn't super tender. The staff is helpful, and the food gets prepared quickly. Definitely a good place when you need a quick meal. They have tables both inside and out, and of course you can also get your food to go if you want. Overall a solid sandwich (and breakfast) spot that I'll definitely visit again.

Brandon W.

Yelp
The deli sandwiches are incredible but if you haven't had the tacos you're sleeping on 51st. The service is excellent the prices are reasonable and the food is phenomenal!!!

Connor S.

Yelp
Service is incredibly fast and they get you through the long line in a jiffy. There is always a long line but plenty of seating. Their desserts are amazing. I got the chicken empanada, breakfast burrito and turkey sandwich which were all delicious. Many of the tables are family style which allows you to meet new people. Their selection of drinks is huge!!!!

Michelle L.

Yelp
California native here. I was actually surprised at how good it was. Ordered the turkey avocado and was pleasantly surprised with the portion size and amount of protein packed into the sandwich! The bacon was a nice touch. The pickle on the side was delicious and luckily my friend gave me theirs. Parking: some free spots in front

Aireal S.

Yelp
Was craving a tuna sandwich for some reason so i came here instead of subway. The customer service was amazing. The cashier was very pleasant , helped us order and even offered to let me try the tuna before. The marble rye bread10/10. The tuna could have had a little more flavor but I was definitely satisfied after adding s&p banana peppers and mayo. Huge sandwich , great price lovely customer service. They also have every flavor of chips, kombucha, cbd drinks and sodas you can think of. Cute deli vibes.

Tatum B.

Yelp
It was my first time being here and the service was very good. the men are a bit flirty though. The tacos were SO good. 10/10. the tres leches were also a 10/10. the guava drink was not my favorite but I think it's because i just found out i didn't like the flavor guava. i'll be getting the strawberry one the next time i go ! The place was like if whole foods had a gas station. it's so cute tho !

Amanda B.

Yelp
Over the years I've tried burritos, tacos, and sandwiches from 51st deli and they have all been great! The food is prepared quickly, people are friendly, a good variety, and priced well! In my last visit I tried the turkey and avocado which was a large portion. It tasted great, and all the produce on it tasted and looked fresh. The bread was good and has some crunch to it. Others with me tried breakfast burritos and all raved about their choices. It's a great spot for a quick meal or to grab it to go. Parking is a little tricky/limited but I appreciate that they even offer free parking!

Yelp
I found the food to be decent at 51st Deli. While there were some hits and misses on the menu, I must say that the sandwiches were the standout item for me. The ingredients were fresh and flavorful. What impressed me most about 51st Deli was the strong sense of community that surrounds it. It's clear that this place is a favorite among the locals, as evidenced by the steady stream of regulars who came in during my visit. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with friendly staff and perfect for a quick bite or a leisurely lunch. While the sandwiches were definitely the star of the show, I also appreciated the variety of options on the menu. From salads to soups to breakfast items, there's something for everyone at 51st Deli. All in all, I would recommend 51st Deli to anyone looking for a casual lunch spot with great sandwiches. While it may not be a destination restaurant for tourists, it's definitely a beloved spot among the locals.

Nicolette T.

Yelp
Checked out their new West End location and loved the space. It's so much more than just deli. It also feels like a market, with lots of other menu offerings. They have drinks, desserts, tacos, burgers, omelettes, cheesecake, candy, and more. I ordered the crispy chicken ceasar wrap, and it was delicious! Service was great, so friendly and welcoming. The parking situation is slim, but that's expected in this part of town. Come check it out!!

Angel C.

Yelp
Love the fried chicken torta, best torta I ever tried here in Tennessee People are nice as always Looks always clean

Lana B.

Yelp
Super great place! I didn't realize there were so many different food options. From a hot bar, all day breakfast sandwiches, street tacos, a coffee bar, and an array of desserts 51st Deli has it all. I got the chopped cheese sandwich. It had the perfect amount of warm creamy cheese to meat ratio. I want to try everything on the menu, although I think that would take me at least a year to get through.

Sara S.

Yelp
We are so glad we were able to finally get over and try 51st Deli. It won't be the last time we journey out to the Nations. Great deli vibe with so many options including breakfast all day, a salad bar, to-go cake and pie options and a fully stocked fridge of beverages. They have ample seating and even birria tacos! We were hankering for sandwiches before hopping across the street for a drink at Southern Grist. We were not disappointed. The everroast chicken was so good! I will say the one issue was they put pepper Jack instead of provolone on it, but we prevailed and it was delicious. The ciabatta has to be made in house because it was so good! My fiancé loved the pastrami on marbled rye, saying it was the best he's ever had. Parking is a bit tricky on the corner but plenty of street parking and a small lot in front. The staff are super friendly and helpful if the menu gets overwhelming. Truly loved the place!

Chris W.

Yelp
Best Street Tacos in Nashville...prove me wrong. It's hard to even describe it honestly...this place is fantastic. It looks like a converted gas station where most the wallspace is coolers. You can your poison from a VERY extensive list of taco options with my personal favorites being the Nashville Hot Chicken Tacos and the chorizo tacos. Grab a plate of tacos and a few brews and enjoy!

Christian S.

Yelp
One of the Nashville OG restaurants. The vibes are nice it is always pretty packed especially on weekends. My wife and I love the turkey avocado. And their drink options are endless which is dope.

meg p.

Yelp
I love everything about this place. The other day I just wanted a great veggie wrap. The guys were all about custom building something delicious (and in no way made me feel like it was a hassle). More than the awesome menu offerings, it is clear that this is a neighborhood institution. Though not in my neighborhood, I am happy to go out of my way for this spot.

Heather Rose M.

Yelp
The 51st Philly and fresh guacamole with plantain chips made my trip to 51st worth every penny! Grab and go items as well as coffee, smoothies, sandwiches, wraps, burritos, salad bar and fresh deli options are available at a good cost and in a timely fashion! The staff was friendly and helpful. Great place to go for a quick grab and go or to sit and enjoy your food! Desert options are available as well. Check out the cannoli :)

Courtney T.

Yelp
We went to the West End location and really enjoyed our experience. The staff were pleasant and the vibe was nice. We had a chopped cheese and tacos and all were so good. Definitely will be going back.

Brad M.

Yelp
Incredible! All of it! Everything! Menu, choices, prices, love this place! Sandwiches on par with Mitchell's Deli, Mexican fare so fresh and good!

Reiley Z.

Yelp
This place is soooooo good! Love tha they have all day breakfast! The drink selection is very wide, taking over the whole wall like a gas station. I loved that feature! They had all my favorite drinks. The vibe in the restaurant is a very comforting ma & pop ambiance. The food came out very quick & was delicious!

Aliya M.

Yelp
Decent deli in the Nations. You go up and order and then wait for your food. The food took a long time (they told us that they crear the smaller orders before the larger ones). Many people who ordered their food after got their food before us. I'd say the food was decent but we all agreed it could use more salt. The fresh squeezed juices were really really good. I got the lemonade and my sister got the orange juice. Both were very fresh! There's plenty of seating inside and outside!

Mallory B.

Yelp
51st never disappoints. A true blessing to Nashville. Great menu, lots of options too

Autumn W.

Yelp
Amazing sandwiches, tacos, salads, anything you get you will love. I am a regular customer and they never disappoint. Service is fast and food is reasonably priced. This is the turkey sandwich.

Nate M.

Yelp
51st deli has been on my Nashville Foodie bucket list for quite a while, but I'm never on this side of town. Finally, a few errands had me in the Nations neighborhood and 51st deli in my sights. Not sure what I was expecting when I walked in, but it's just a straight up no frills deli and I loved it! An overloaded sandwich menu, a huge deli case packed with classic sides, and beverage cooler with filled enough drinks to overflow the Cumberland. I went with the 51st Philly and it was heavenly. A large sandwich with seared ribeye, onions, and peppers just spilling out on the foil. This was a hat trick of happiness; tender flavorful meat, super soft bread, and best of all, a decent price. I also ordered some beef empanadas that I saw in the deli case. Who doesn't like fried bread stuffed with meat. These were amazing and I found out they were made by the chef! The breakfast menu here looks amazing and I can't wait to come back and sample that 51st morning burrito!

Dan H.

Yelp
This is definitely one of my favorite restaurants. The food is always delicious and the staff is always friendly. It can a little loud and hectic but it's part of its character. This visit I had the "Chopped Cheese", and I really enjoyed it. My wife had the veggie omelette and was equally pleased.

Ben R.

Yelp
This was our second time giving 51st Deli a chance and there certainly won't be a third. I've tried a variety of foods on their menu including the 51st morning burrito, West Nasty, Turkey Avocado Wrap, The Italian, & the Tres Leches Cake. The food just doesn't taste good. Not sure if it's cheap ingredients or poor cooking, but the food is extremely bland. You almost feel like they forgot to season it. It was worth the try but not for us.

Mads L.

Yelp
The breakfast burritos are top notch and the drink selection is everything. This place is always a saving grace.

Jacey H.

Yelp
Their cuban is so good. We got two for $20 and I absolutely thought it was worth it. This place is a great hole in the wall deli

Doug G.

Yelp
I have lived in Nashville now for about 3 weeks and this place has been recommended to me no less than 5 times by various folks here, so naturally I had to pop in to see what it was all about! 51st Deli sits on the corner of, you guess it, 51st Avenue and Centennial Blvd in The Nations, which is a small neighborhood in West Nashville. Pulling up to this place, first thing you see is the original 51st Deli street sign, which lets you know this spot has been a staple in this area for a while! This sign lets you know what you are about to get into, but once you walk in...you get that old New York deli vibe, but with a modern twist. The ordering/kitchen/food coolers/salad bar/coffee station areas have all been beautifully updated, and the seating area, drink coolers and beverage station are stuck in the 90's. When you walk in, you can do a few things...immediately pop in line and begin scanning the chalkboard menus on the wall or you can take time to pick up a drink or side of choice and scope the fried foods before getting in line. I personally enjoy the popping immediately in line and grabbing a bag of chips once I decided what I want and established my place in line. This place gets busy, so securing that spot is key when you are hungry! Once you order and pay, you are given a number and when they are ready for you, the kitchen staff yells out your number. Everything is packaged as to-go, however you can eat in as they have several tables inside and outside. While delis make you immediately think of sandwiches, 51st Deli steps up the deli game and offers a wide variety of good eats and drinks from tacos, quesadillas, burgers, hot and cold sandwiches, salads, pastas, beer, breakfast sandwiches, bagels, biscuits, coffee drinks, chips and queso, elote, fried chicken, friend fish, cheesecake and even cannoli's! This list is certainly not all they offer, but it should give you an idea of the expansive variety offered here at 51st! I mean, while they have a wide ranging menu, sandwiches are still king here as the have over 22 hot and cold sandwiches with a build your own option as well. Three of my recommendations called for the #10, Turkey Avocado. This was a hero style sandwich with turkey, cheddar cheese, bacon, pickled onion and avocado. It is a super basic sandwich and they do it to perfection! The hero roll was soft, yet sturdy and coated in avocado while the turkey was stacked high, cheese was perfectly warmed by the crispy bacon and the pickled onions delivered a stellar zing that brought it all together. For my next visit, I have my eyes on The West/Nasty! My only "issue" and I use that loosely was overall cost. While everything on the menu is under $10, it is easy to spend $20 on lunch. With the #10, a bag of chips and a fountain drink, I was pushing $18. Seemed a little much, but I am happy to pay it to keep a local spot like this up and running. Overall, I am impressed and super happy to have heard about and finally found 51st Deli...a true hidden gem that I will certainly be back to!

Joe C.

Yelp
Just moved to Nashville & needed a good deli... we found one! Got the Cuban & it was good, love me a good Cuban. Interested in trying other sandwiches & smoothies.

Brett J.

Yelp
My Wife and I went to the West End Location on Sunday. I have spent much of my career going in and out of NYC where I ate lunch many, many times at NYC delis, considered to be the best in the world. These are the best sandwiches we have had outside of NYC. Staff is friendly and efficient, and the place is spotless, unlike NYC. Enough Said! Brett and Gina Midtown

Snoozinphx S.

Yelp
I ordered the Cuban. It had a lot of Pork, very little Ham, very little Swiss cheese, very little mustard, NO Pickles and wasn't pressed like a good Cuban should be. It had ABSOLUTELY NO taste whatsoever. TASTELESS. I choked part down simply because I was hungry. And brought the rest home to salvage what I could. The potato salad was good though. And for being Boar's Head products I was surprised that it could be Sooooooo bad. I will try them again, but would NOT order The Cuban again on a bet. ANYTHING else has too be better than that.

Peter H.

Yelp
This place was awesome! Nice place in The Nations neighborhood! Great food and friendly staff! It's a hybrid of a taco shop and deli and it's so an awesome combo! I had the breakfast burrito and it was sooooo delicious, the chorizo was seasoned perfectly and the whole fried egg Compliment the potatoes and veggies so well! We also go an order of Carne Asada fries and it was sooo good! Loved it and I will definitely be back!

Allison B.

Yelp
I have been eating 51st in the Nations for years. The food is always amazing, and the portions are generous. I am happy to see their business grow and prosper. I will continue to eat here for as long as I call West Nashville my home!

Tori M.

Yelp
Really good. Came here after a breakup when I was feeling super depressed and got a lox bagel with my mom and it cheered me up

Mike H.

Yelp
51st Deli is a great staple in the nations neighborhood right off 51st street. 51st deli has everything you could need. Coffee, sandwiches, tacos, plenty of sides, and every drink you could think of including alcoholic. The tacos are still relatively new and this was the first time I tried them. Very happy! The tacos were amazing.

Bailey P.

Yelp
This place has been on my must-try list and I am glad I finally gave it a visit. I love deli's but must most of them have inconvenient hours and close pretty early but 51st Deli is open till 8pm on the weekdays. We got a parking spot right up front and ordered our sandwiches without any wait. We came for dinner but they serve breakfast all day and I took full advantage by ordering the Beta Feta. It is a pretty simple sandwich (egg, tomato, avocado & feta on an everything bagel) but somehow they made it taste extra good. Despite it being so late in the day, the bagel tasted super fresh and the eggs were fresh off the griddle. Absolutely worth the $6. My friend ordered the Nations sandwich and was underwhelmed. It looked like it was half the size of my sandwich and it cost $2 more. Around the deli counter were a bunch of individually packaged desserts (pies, cheesecakes, cannolis). I definitely need to come back and try those! There is a fair amount of indoor seating with some smaller and longer picnic style tables. Everything seemed very clean. They even had disinfectant spray at each table with the condiments.

Clancy K.

Yelp
Food and service is so amazing!!!! Could not be better! They are my and my husband's go to!

Brooks B.

Yelp
For the love of god. Do not change your breakfast burrito. The recent change is amazing! Best in the city! Kudos to you all

Hart P.

Yelp
Great deli in Nashville. Comments from other Yelpers led me here and it is going to be a favorite for now on. Some of the best corned beef (see Reuben) ever. The Tuna salad is delicious. Next time we will attach the tacos!

Victor S.

Yelp
This place stays busy. The service is fairly quick for the amount of people coming in and out. Food overall was very good.

Alyssa M.

Yelp
Quite possibly the best breakfast sandwich I've had yet in Nashville!! The breakfast potatoes were delicious and the peppers in them added some really good flavor. The beta-feta sandwich was so delicious and even better when you dip it in hot sauce. The deli itself had a huge selection of drinks with indoor and outdoor seating. I love it here!

Rachel L.

Yelp
I will do salad over sandwich 95% of the time, but 51st Deli is in the 5%. So good! You really can't go wrong here, but my favorites are the West/Nasty, the Turkey Avocado and the Vegetarian. They also have a Build Your Own option which is great. They are quick and kind, have a large area with tables as well as an outdoor area. Parking situation is not ideal, but it's not ideal anywhere off 51st in the Nations.
