Austin’s New Restaurant & Bar Openings

"K Pot in South Austin offers hot pot and Korean BBQ, both in AYCE formats. Instead of choosing between the two, you can get both for a few extra dollars—then you should plan to order as many plates as your table space (and stomach) will allow. This is a chain from NYC, meaning they’ve had a little bit of time to figure things out, and there’s a second location planned in North Austin soon.  We visited K Pot and added it to our Fun Dinners guide. Yelp
Everything was perfect like always when I come, service and atmosphere were great. Kelli was our server and she was fabulous and took great care of us.

Yelp
Love this place! Achi was amazing and her little doodles of our party made our night! Just wish they had mochi!

Yelp
Honestly, I am torn about this place. I was thrilled we had a new KBBQ spot open, bonus that it also does hot pot, and that it is significantly cheaper than the price tag for Gangnam BBQ, but there were some real oddities for me. We came in choosing to do BBQ only, later on a Saturday. It was still busy but we got sat right away. We had a great server, attentive and lots of personality and I absolutely LOVE that you can order what you want through an iPad. but this is where it gets weird for me. Absolutely no banchan is brought to the table. Yes, I know that they have this little buffet you can go to for extras, but it was mostly sauces and some fried stuff that to be honest wasn't good. But the biggest sin to me was THERE IS NO RICE! Not even a big rice cooker like at SoupLeaf hot pot where you can help yourself, unless we missed it. But that is WILD to me to serve Korean food and not have rice anywhere! You can order lettuce leaves to make your meat wraps, but you can't make a lettuce wrap without rice! And I absolutely love getting different kinds of banchan and having appetizers to choose from like pajeon or tempura and having all that just not be there was weird to me. But this is why I am torn- I also respect that you go and you pay and you get meat, which is the point of KBBQ and the meats were delicious and there is a good variety of meat and seafood to choose from. But again, I love my meat dipped in sauce, and to do that I had to keep going up to the buffet, get in line with people wanting hot pot stuff, and get down to the sauces (I didn't want to cut the line) and then you're mixing in a big line and the labels were absolutely all off nothing matched and the whole process was confusing and annoying. Again, I like my little set that comes out with ssamjang, sesame oil and salt and Pepper and usually one other sauce at most BBQ places. Long story short, if you want to go and slam meat and meat only, definitely. But this is bare bones BBQ to me and I probably would pay the extra for all the extras at Gangnam. Also, the hot pot buffet choices are underwhelming, again I'd probably go to Soupleaf where they focus on on thing and doing that one thing completely.

Yelp
Excellent choice for a filling and fun dinner! You really can't beat the price of ~$37 for KBBQ AND hotpot. It's ~$32 for just one of them. Prices are even cheaper on weekdays. It's family style so everyone at your table has to order the same thing (all combo, only hotpot, or only kbbq). There is the hotpot and the kbbq side of the menu but you can really use any of the meats interchangeably. There is a large selection of meats, and if you're a seafood lover there is a lot to choose from. Tons of veggie, tofu, fish ball options too. For kbbq, I really enjoyed the short rib. The server gave good recommendations. Tip, don't skip on grilling pineapple! For hotpot, I ordered the tom yum broth but found it to be too sweet and tomato-y. Not sure if you are allowed to change your broth but they can refill it for you. The portions are quite small when you order (ex 1 serving of udon, 4 rice cakes, 2 strips of meat) so you have to frequently order. There's a 2 hour time limit too but they weren't strict on that with us. Unlike other kbbq places though, the servers don't grill your meat, you do it yourself. The grills are electric and there aren't vent covers. There is also a bar which has fried food (dumplings, Basil Chicken which was really good, fries), cake, watermelon and grapes, seaweed salad, etc. and of course your sauces to make your own. The organization causes traffic jams though, wish the bar were two-sided. Personally I liked the Kbbq a lot better than the hot pot - you can get hotpot at other places in Austin but I haven't found a cheaper spot for Kbbq! If you make a reservation, they ask for 48 hours in advance. It was a friend's birthday and they came out with a big sign to sing happy birthday and gave him a slice of cake and a cute animal toy. There is a lot of parking and a surrounding strip mall, but it's always crowded here!

Yelp
We came for my friends birthday and our server Achi took such good care of us! We had a huge party that took up 4 long tables, and Achi was on her A game! We never had to be without food while we waited to order. She was so good at coming around and immediately getting our drink orders and broth orders and everything else! The doodles and stickers and she gave out to us really brightened our day. And the staff coming out to sing happy birthday and help us take pictures was another bonus. The food itself is pretty good quality! I love that they have so many options. Besides stuff off the meat menu, some stand outs for me were the mini sausages, fish tofu, crab, shumai, and fish roe balls. They also have a really good selection of sauces so you can customize whatever you want. The food at the hotbar however, was just ok in my opinion. The dessert selection is pretty small, and ice cream is not included in the AYCE. But they do have good quality watermelon and grapes and after eating so much food, you'll probably only really crave fruit anyways.

Yelp
My husband and I had a really good experience here! The food was great, there are a lot of choices! And there's also a little buffet area for sides and desserts! The little puddings were definitely my favs!

Yelp
I met a few girlfriends here for lunch today. We got there when it opened so there wasn't a wait. Upon entering you can see that the place is quite large and it even has a stage for karaoke. :) Our server was Andrew. He was pleasant and courteous. He explained how things worked but I was still a bit overwhelmed. Once the process started, it made more sense. For 22.99 (lunch) you can either get the BBQ OR the Kpot. Kpot basically seems like a giant bowl of (I'm sure it's awesome) soup. It made more sense to get the BBQ. We didn't want to spend 23 bucks for a bowl of soup. For an extra five bucks, you can get both but that seemed like a lot of food. In hindsight, I probably would have tried it. There is a sauce bar which also has small appetizers: fruit, egg rolls etc. Is the sauce for dipping or putting on the grill? I still don't know. That wasn't explained to us but I guess we should have asked. Our favorite was the beef bulgogi. We tried the chicken bulgogi but the beef won hands down. They changed out the grill frequently which was nice. They give you tongs to cook with but as we cooked we discovered that you are touching raw meat but also veggies. He didn't explain it that way but it makes sense to use one set of tongs for meat and one for veggies. *They should be color coded. **Be aware: the menu for lunch is limited as far as meat choices is concerned. You have to pay 32.99 for the better choices of meats ***The entire table must decide to eat the same thing: either BBQ or Kpot (soup) We had fun. We would come back knowing what we know now. I'm sure the place is rolling come dinner time. During our meal, my friend wondered if they had any rice; which would have been a nice addition. I don't know if that's offered or not? I did see that you can add yourself to the waitlist. (YELP)

Yelp
Came in to have just the hot pot for dinner and had a great time. The place was popping and lively with the karaoke stage. I was pleasantly surprised that the open food bar had crawfish boil because I was craving some crawfish. The hot pot selection is pretty big but a little more basic than other hot pot places especially when it comes to leafy green vegetables. But the meat and seafood selection is enough to fulfill you. I had the herbal broth which was pretty good but not the best I've had for drinking. Tip: I recommend swapping your broth to try different ones. Also when they replenish the broth, it's with a generic broth so the flavor gets diluted. Our server was really friendly, attentive, and patient as we ordered our ingredients.

Yelp
Great experience! We had a group of four and were seated quickly with no reservations. Our server was attentive and the food is good as always. This place is great for long lunches and dinner.

Yelp
This is one of the cheaper all you can eat hot pot places in Austin. It kind of makes sense because the options aren't as big but I don't really need that much so for me the meat in the vegetable options were good. The interior is clean, and our server was friendly, and she even gave us some personalized drawings at the end. My favorite broth is the herbs broth which is just a classic one. It was very flavorful, and I enjoyed my time here, and I will definitely come back again.

Yelp
We were super excited to have a new k bbq and hot pot restaurant down south. The coolest thing about this one is you can do either or both. We decided to go with hot pot for our first time. It was great value for the food quality and taste . While there were enough options, there were definitely less than some of the other hot pot restaurants in North Austin. Our server was great and checked up on us consistently! We were also able to walk in without a wait around 545 on a Wednesday. There is a lot of seating here, but you can also join the waitlist. We plan to return to try K Bbq!

Yelp
This is a nice spot for kbbq and hot pot. It's about $36 for both for dinner time. They have an assortment of meats you can choose from. We have never ordered from the machine, so that was actually really cool to see and use. All of the meats were pretty quality. They have a sauce bar full of multiple sauces, and they have a menu for making custom sauce dishes. The place is pretty clean and they have a karaoke section too. Vibes were great. Our server Arthur was really helpful. Definitely recommend.

Yelp
We ate here for dinner tonight and were able to get seated immediately and without a reservation, which was nice. Our server Tom was taking care of us. We got the dinner menu, which was all you can eat for $32.99. They bring the food out to the table, where it is grilled by the customers and then eaten. We got a variety of food, such as the mussels, garlic shrimp, pineapple, onion, sweet potato, steak, jumbo shrimp and more. It was all solid. They also have a buffet as well with food they cooked already such as French fries, edamame, fruit, egg rolls & more. Overall, it was a favorable experience. We would come back!

Yelp
I stopped in a few days ago with a friend, and have literally thought of this place every day since wanting to go back. I was lucky enough to be in the area to catch a weekday lunch, and $22 for 2 hours of AYCE really felt like a steal. I really spent the entire 2 hours eating, and was surprised by how many plates I was able to make it through. I'm gluten-free so my options were a bit limited, but even with the 4 meats available to me I really enjoyed myself. For anyone looking for the info, they unfortunately do not have a gluten-free broth even though it is advertised on the menu. Therefore it's mainly a good option for the kbbq. Definitely going to be back soon!

Yelp
Glad they're bringing quality Asian food south! Make reservations as it gets packed! Walk in and greeted with a long bar you can grab a drink while waiting right in front is a karaoke stage so grab a mic if you'd like! Okay so come hungry. You have an option to do one or the other AYCE or both but the entire table has to choose the same option. If you do both bbq and hot pot, recommend you get the bbq first so you don't fill up your tummy with soup! Another plus is everyone gets their own lil hotpot vs sharing a big one. The servers are amazing and fast to bring cuts of meats and veggies . Definitely a must try and place to bring a group!!

Yelp
Such a delicious spot to have Korean BBQ. They have all you can eat BBQ or Soup for $40. My husband and I came here twice in a row this week. Our server Rony was so sweet and helpful . She recommended drinks for us to try. I had the "original margarita" and my husband had a Sapporo. This place is huge and includes a sauce bar with lots of different types of sauces and snacks for side dishes. There is also a large karaoke stage with a huge screen as a background. The ambiance is like no other! You can smell the delicious food from the parking lot!

Yelp
The Asian food scene in Austin is growing!!! I'm such a fiend for KBBQ and for hot pot, so I love that there's a place that allows you to do both. For $38 (I think), it's not badly priced. If you go for lunch or dinner on a weekday, it's even more worth. I came with a group of 5, and our server was so on top of it the entire time. He even had time to help make us some sauces and was so sweet. Overall, the selection of sauces and ingredients is awesome. They don't charge extra for galbi, and I LOVE galbi. There's a decent amount of seafood options for hot pot too. I highly recommend getting the Sichuan hot pot broth--it's not too spicy or numbing, so it's a really great broth. Their ingredients are pretty high quality from what I can tell, and they are so fast with bringing out food. I wish they had more appetizers like corn cheese or rice cake or tofu soup, but considering all the dishes they have already, maybe it's best to keep the menu simpler. The only downsides I can think of were that 1) both restrooms were out of order during our visit and 2) there's only one grill for a booth for 6 people. I don't know how they're allowed to be operational when both restrooms were closed, but my friends did notice people coming in and out to fix whatever problem was going on. The one grill was also really unfortunate and inconvenient because two people at our table had to grill for the entire table. My experience was still a really positive one. The vibes are great. It's a really clean establishment. Their sauce bar has everything you can think of. They also have some nice cold appetizers by the sauce bar too. I would definitely come back again.

Yelp
KPOT is a newly opened restaurant in South Austin that serves both KBBQ AND hotpot, two of my favorite foods! I went here with a group of approximately 10 people for a friend's birthday and was surprised when I walked in and saw the bustling energy of this place, even on a Thursday evening! It's a large restaurant with karaoke and a full bar. The energy I felt as soon as I walked in the door was reminiscent of my time in China. It was quirky, upbeat, and fun. Although the ordering & delivery of food to our table was a bit chaotic and messy, I feel that it is somewhat to be expected with large busy restaurants that have only been open less than a month. Hopefully, they'll smooth things out as time goes by. The food was good for the price - not the highest quality ingredients, but of course, it's what's to be expected for all-you-can-eat KBBQ and hotpot for $35.99. I would go back for the fun vibes and experience.

Yelp
Finally hot pot and kbbq in South Austin! I've been here twice now, and to countless other similar restaurants. I'd say they're still working out some issues like service times, and I hear you'll soon be able to order electronically from your seat. So that'll make it a true 5 star experience. The food is all comparable to other kbbq and hot pot places, with plenty of options. Prices are reasonable too. Wait times around 2pm on a Sunday we're about 30 min.. same with dinner on a Tuesday. Probably could be longer with peak times, but they text you when they're ready and you can go walk around the stores nearby. Hiiiiighly recommended!!

Yelp
KPot is a culinary haven that has earned its 5-star status! Offering a delightful combination of hot pot and Korean BBQ, this restaurant exceeded my expectations. The inclusion of a karaoke stage added an extra layer of fun to the dining experience. The ambience is top-notch - a perfect blend of warmth and modernity. The fast service ensured that the hot pot and Korean BBQ experience was not just delicious but also efficient. It was particularly perfect for a cold day, and finding a spot that offers both hot pot and Korean BBQ in Austin made me genuinely happy. Having moved here recently, I've been on the lookout for good hot pot options, and KPot delivered beyond my hopes. It's an excellent alternative to other pricey options in the area. While Dip Dip Dip Tatsuya is commendable, KPot strikes the perfect balance for both my tummy and wallet. A definite go-to for a satisfying and affordable hot pot experience in Austin! Five stars well-deserved.

Yelp
Finally had the chance to eat at KPOT this past weekend and here is my review: For $36.99 for both AYCE Kbbq and hotpot that is a steal! But since my husband and I are not too big on hotpot, we just did the kbbq for $30.99, and for that price the quality and variety of meats, seafood and veggies to choose from was fantastic. My favorite was the KPOT short ribs :) For the side dishes, you grab these from their Sauce Bar area. Unfortunately they did not have jap chae or fish cake which is our favorite, but they did have kimchi, radish, fruit and a few other appetizers like sesame seed balls, French fries and egg rolls. A suggestion I would make is to have trays and/or plates available for customers to grab in the sauce bar area (in addition to the sauce bowls) since it was difficult to hold everything and it took several rounds to get all the sauces/ sides we wanted. Other than that, the food was great and our server was fantastic.
google avatar

Kate Z.

Yelp
I was pleasantly surprised at how good the quality of the ingredients were here at KPOT. Usually for AYCE places, they lack in quality and try to make up for it with quantity. However, this is the opposite experience. Since you order your meats, you get quality but sacrifice quantity, since the plates are quite small, especially for seafood and vegetables. They are generous with meat. The sauce line can get long too. Knowing this in advance helped, so we ordered a lot in the beginning. Don't be afraid to ask for multiple servings of the same dish! I also appreciated the fact that they deveined their shrimp. The garlic shrimp and salmon was pretty solid. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the facilities was well maintained. I'd come back for their lunch deal, although some food offered only during dinner/the weekends.
google avatar

Chelsea L.

Yelp
Kpot already has multiple locations in the US but it just opened in Austin! Had to try it out-never been to a place that had both kbbq and hot pot before!! Love it. The meat, especially the short ribs, is really good. You can choose different broths for the hot pot and each person gets their own. I really like the healthy herbs one! It reminds me of classic hot pot flavors. I wish they had ice cream as part of the AYCE, but I think the value of all the food is really good! It was a fun time.

Yelp
Went in right at the crack of dusk (5:30 PM), beat the crowd. Witnessed the spectacular karaoke spectacle around 6:30-7. Starts to get busy around that time and patrons can karaoke while waiting around front at the bar & stage. Seated at an 8-top, the booths are large enough to accommodate. As a group, you have to decide between hot pot, KBBQ, or both. I, unfortunately, lost the battle for both to the KBBQ enthusiasts. Gave it a generous 2 stars instead of 1 due to the bargain basement price of $30 for AYCE KBBQ. Don't get too excited; there are no side dishes, but they do have a station with a random assortment of food - kimchi, chicken wings, french fries, and sesame balls - essentially relics from a bygone era, all were stale. The kimchi was also not tasty. The dip station features recipes at eye level on the wall, but good luck reading them with 20 hungry folks breathing down your neck. Anxiety levels: off the charts. Perhaps they could have recipe cards at the table? Of note, if you're a Ssam jang lover like me, beware; their attempt at fermented soybean paste is a crime against taste buds. Just too sweet and funky! Pork belly lovers, prepare for disappointment. It looked like it had seen better days - dull, grey, and suspiciously wet (no, it wasn't the marinated pork). The saving grace was the steak; it seemed like the only thing worth chewing. A variety of seafood is on offer, from shrimp to squid, but don't expect culinary miracles. On the positive side, the vegetables were surprisingly fresh. Lettuce, mushrooms, sweet potato - a glimmer of hope in a sea of mediocrity. I might have missed out on the hot pot, but let's face it, I won't be making a return trip. Other pals tried and confirmed - nothing special. Jack of all trades, master of none, they say. I'm not losing any sleep over it.

Yelp
Kpot is a paradise for Korean food lovers! They offer an all-you-can-eat buffet with tons of fresh ingredients for both KBBQ and hot pot. The service was friendly and attentive, and the price is quite reasonable for the feast you get. Definitely come hungry and ready to try a bit of everything!

Yelp
Simply amazing. The traditional broth was so rich and good. The meat and veggie selections were plentiful. The sake was great too.

Yelp
Korean BBQ & Hot pot options meet here at Kpot. Price was quite steep for both KBBQ and Hotpot and imo the quality is not up there. There was decent amount of space in this restaurant. There was no line when we came in on a Tuesday night. Staffs were friendly and helpful. However, the ordering process was quite hectic, and I feel like there were not enough table staffs circulating around. The guy who took our order was also serving few other tables and cleaning the grill etc. He was running around quite a lot and it wasnt terrbly busy. The meat is not bad but not great either. They are probably priorly frozen which is fine but dont taste good. They have a bunch of options in the menu from pork, beef to seafood and sausage/dumpling for the hotpot/grill. We tried a variety of meats and veggies for our dinner but the ingredients dont taste or look fresh - for both meat and veggies. For the hotpot, the soup base was fine for me but my partner didnt like his tomato base - saying its too bland. There is a separate sauce station and some limited dessert options: melon, sesame balls and randomly jello lol. The entire place has a haze of smoke over and you will smell A LOT when you leave. Wear your ugly clothes lol! The floor is sticky and tables can be cleaner.

Yelp
Came on a whim for lunch. Andrew was the best possible waiter we could have asked for. The food was so good. Definitely recommend to give it a try

Yelp
Came back since i live very close. I was able to check in, go home and then come back out as the wait is always 45-60 minutes. This time I had Korean BBQ AND hot pot. I could do without the Korean BBQ. The sauce was flavorful and the rice was nice and fluffy. I didn't think the quality of the meat was great. I still really enjoy the hot pot and the options. Service was attentive despite how busy it always is. Be prepared to leave smelling like BBQ though. And sometimes the karaoke is obnoxious but if you're willing to sing and not care the entire restaurant can hear you...to each their own. LOL
google avatar

Kyle N.

Yelp
Stopped by this restaurant for lunch and it was spacious. We wanted both AYCE hotpot and BBQ for $27.99/person. The Thai Tom Yum soup broth was flavorful. Ingredients like meats and veggies have to order through a server and they will bring it out for you. The meats were good and veggies were fresh. The portion varied when it arrived. They have a sauce station with fruit, fries, fried popcorn chicken and sesame balls. Wish they use nonstick grill pan so the pan would not be burned fairly quickly and needed to change often. Wish they also had a veggie station for convenience.

Yelp
KPOT has become our go-to for Korean BBQ in the Austin area. As someone who grew up in Korea, I can tell you this is one of the most authentic tasting Korean food I've found in ATX, which is such a relief because before they opened, there was no good Korean food here. There's an AYCE Kbbq that also opened in recent years in South Austin, but I think KPOT's meat quality and marinades are superior. Those are the only two Korean restaurants my family and I will visit now. We always do the hot pot and bbq option since it's only $5 more and totally worth it. It does get really hectic and we rarely get everything we order, but that has never bothered us since it's AYCE and you can just re-order the items you didn't get. Another huge plus of KPOT is their beer prices! Nowhere else in ATX can you get a pint of Electric Jellyfish for only $7. They have the newer tech smokeless table grills, which sucks in the smoke right next to the open grill. I first saw this in Korea a few years ago and I'm so excited that US restaurants are now getting these. You'll still smell a bit like bbq afterwards, but not like you bathed your hair and clothes in smoke like places with the vents above the table. They also have a karaoke stage and anyone can go up to sing. I don't love this since it can get a bit obnoxious, but the volume level isn't so high that it affects your conversation with your table. My only suggestion for the business would be to implement call-ahead waiting or Yelp's online waiting list. They don't take reservations so we always end up having to show up and wait, ~30 mins on weekdays and ~45 mins on Fri through weekends. But these are during busy dinner service times so maybe show up earlier if you don't want to wait long.

Yelp
What a great experience out of the gate. I was happily the first customer of K-Pot's preview day today, but I have to say, I planned it. I have been stalking this build out and opening since I discovered K-Pot in Boston. After returning home from the northeast, I sought out more soup in North Austin, which was super as well. As a southie, I was hoping to have something this special near us. And low and behold, K-Pot started building on Brodie Lane. We were cheerfully greeted by an eager wait staff, fresh off the training block as well as the GM, TJ, who was super nice and ready to see experience the new store. The only wariness we had was that K-Pot is a corporate concept, which could be too clinical, but not this time! The space is exciting, broken up into three spaces - two dining area and one bar. The bar has a very expensive karaoke stage and screen. The staff will evolve how they use this space, but it looks exciting. I have attached the photos of the menus, so have a look at the variety of broths and add ins. For the new to the K-pot crew, you choose a broth, and then you choose your meats or fish (or in my case only vegetables and tofu), and you basically finish the cook in your personalized pot. So I guess, if you don't like the food, it's kind of on you. Haha! I chose the mushroom broth, which is vegetarian, rich, and quite perfect. So , I picked leafy greens, seaweed, pho noodles, tofu skin, and some pumpkin as my add in. You basically have a Dozen or so meats, fish, abs vegetables to choose from, about 6 types of noodles, and extras such as dumplings if you like. Then there's the finishing bar where you create your own sauce. So many options, but if you are a saucy purist, you can choose only soy sauce, ponzu, etc. I recommend checking out the recipe board for ideas on putting together an awesome peanut, sriracha, oyster sesame melange. Lots of fun. If you're still gingery post soup, that's also on you as they refill you broth as many times as you like and refresh your add ins with no extra fee. Lunch tan is $20 each. Completely worth every penny. Hope you'll try the exciting new south austin location! I'll probably be there!

Yelp
Today was their soft opening and they did a great job. Ample amount of staff to take care of anything you needed. Fun, open space. Something I didn't notice was ventilation hoods - which, in my experience, is typical above each table in KBBQ restaurants. The food was pretty good and came out super quickly. I had the mushroom broth and it was just okay. Not a lot of flavor so requires lots of additions. Wanted to try the spicy broth but was told it is super spicy. Might try next time. I didn't care for the shumai. The hot bar - next to the sauce bar - had chicken nuggets (I think), fries, and fried spring rolls. I didn't care for the spring rolls. They had very little flavor. The galbi (which requires ordering from the dinner menu) was pretty tasty. The spicy bulgolgi was good but had A LOT of thick sauce/marinade. The grills are very effective - nonstick and cook quickly. The spicy pork belly is always my fav and was yummy. Will def give it another try in the coming weeks.

Yelp
We FINALLY have a KBBQ + Hotpot in South Austin!! Although it's new, the wait was not that bad. This space is extremely fun. A karaoke stage at the front of the building really peaked our interest lol. The tables are huge and there's a sauce bar complete with banchan, fried bites (like chicken wings and spring rolls), and dessert. You're able to choose KBBQ, hot pot, or both! We obviously went for both. The menu is simple and AYCE. They bring your hotpot first then your KBBQ. The meats/seafood/veggies were all EXTREMELY fresh! The cocktails we ordered were fun and so yummy. Our server was so sweet and knowledgeable. I couldn't have asked for a better AYCE in this area. Kpot is an awesome addition to the Sunset Valley area!

Yelp
We visited on a Saturday and had no issues finding parking despite a very busy shopping day in that area. We didn't have a long wait. We were seated immediately. As you enter there is this vibrant and awesome looking stage! Definitely a fun little decor and feature! I am rating the overall experience a 4 out of 5, primarily due to the amazing server we had as well as the very well kept and cleaned buffet area. Our server was very attentive and we hardly had to ask for any assistance, he was there right away! I would rate this a 4 and not a 5 because I have been to another KPOT location in San Antonio and I must say they have more varieties of seafood and meats. I wish this location had oysters and other premium cuts like the location in San Antonio. The BBQ plate was also a bit "too hot" despite placing it in the low. Causing marinated meats to burn faster. I wish there was another lower setting (and yes we have placed the marinated meats around the grill and not at the hottest center). The bathroom could also use some updates as the door has an indicator if the bathroom is free...but apparently all of them are stuck on "green". A minor feedback but still feedback. Overall will visit again! It was a great experience! But not the best KPOT we have been to.

Yelp
Stopped here for KBBQ when I was on the south side of town last week. The service was friendly. I made sure to ask for half portions of meat as I was dining alone and it was no problem. I wasn't a fan of the "choose/make your own sauce" station. I don't know how to create KBBQ sauces so this experience was not a plus for me. I wasn't impressed with the salad bar area either. Overall, it wasn't a bad experience. However, with a 5-star KBBQ spot not far down the road, I likely won't be back.

Yelp
The food and service was incredible! We threw my sons birthday here with a bunch of his friends who have never had Korean hot pot. They loved it and also enjoyed the karaoke! Achi was our waitress. She went above and beyond to make my son feel special on his bday. Highly recommend!

Yelp
We learned about this place from a social media food influencer and coming from the Hutto area, we were looking forward to checking it out. We were not disappointed! The food was amazing. Our waiter (Hunter) was super informative, patient and helpful with walking us through all the options. We thought we would go for a second round but we were ready to explode after the first one! Everything was great but the only issue was that we were placed next to the sauce bar during the rush time and a long line with tons of people standing close wasn't the best but that was literally a minor thing. We can't wait to come back!

Yelp
One of my most favorite in the south Austin area! Great food options and the atmosphere is wonderful! Have never had a bad experience with wait staff either!

Yelp
This was SO MUCH FUN. Our server, Anchi, was an absolute blast. We were first timers, and she explained everything. She was so dynamic! The food was great. We got both he hot pot and barbecue. We had a lot of fun cooking the food. There was a great sauce bar, with some appetizers. The restaurant was very clean, and smelled of lovely foods. If you have not tried this, you should do so.

Yelp
Been here twice.. and overall.. really good! First time going here was on Mother's day and it was packed, but we didn't have to wait! That time, we did both kbbq and hotpot.. but a lot of our items we ordered were missing.. especially for the hotpot. I don't blame them because it was def busy that day. Paid the dinner prices which is understandable for Mother's day. Second time we went when they had just opened so it wasn't busy. Everything was going well until we actually got our food. We've gotten a few wrong orders and our server was not as attentive and we would like. We would cook our food and then eat it all and then we'd have to wait a bit to order more. Our server did tend to about 6 other tables.. so wasn't too mad about it. As we ordered more food.. something was always missing or it would be something different from what we ordered.. didn't say anything because it was same "type" of meat that was ordered. Other than that, really love the look of the place and love the music that plays! Sauce Bar is awesome and ordered a Pineapple Painkiller cocktail and was delicious! Kinda reminded me of a piña colada! Honestly... maybe third times the charm?

Yelp
I came to this spot last month with my best friend; we both love to eat and thought an AYCE hotpot and Korean BBQ sounded like a good idea. It was a Friday night around 6 pm, so obviously, there would be a pretty long wait, but it's located next to a shopping plaza, so it's really nice you can put your name on the list and then go check out the homegoods or TJ Maxx while you wait for a text for an available table. It was a 40-minute wait, but the time went by super fast, it's somewhat chaotic getting sat since the line to be put on the waitlist also goes to the hostess stand. I think since they just opened recently all these kinks will eventually be worked out. Once we were sat there's a menu that has all the items you can order for both hotpot and KBBQ. We opted into the AYCE for $36 which is a STEAL! You pick your soup base and some items you want for hotpot and Korean BBQ. Let me tell you, this is definitely a group activity. Since you are cooking all your own food, it gets a bit chaotic. I think next time we come we'll bring our partners so there can be one set of people managing hotpot while the other manages the grill. Overall, it was a fun experience; everyone was still somewhat getting into their flow, so there were a couple of times when the waitress forgot something that we had asked for. A fun group activity and a really good price point will keep people coming back!

Yelp
This place was insanely good! We took our whole family of 9, and eat until we burst!!!! I would personally stick to the grill part.... The soup making is good but the real tasty part is the bbq!!! We stuck to water so I can't testify for the cocktails we will be back here for more. !

Yelp
A bustling AYCE KBBQ & Hotpot restaurant to bring your friends and family! I came here on a Monday with about a 45 minute wait around 7:30. I ended up checking back after a while since we had no text to let us know our table was ready. When checking, magically the table was open. We decided to do the AYCE KBBQ & hotpot but you can opt for only one for the table for $5 less per person and the table must match. Not too odd of practices. I was sat near the sauce and sides section near the window, so despite the hot food in front of me, I was consistently cold. For hotpot, we both decided on Japanese miso. The broth itself is not very flavorful on its own, but adding ingredients can obviously help. They give a pretty small pot, but it's an individual pot (think Korean metal ramyun pot sized). Since it was relatively small, ordering hotpot ingredients come in small portions. This helped with not over-ordering since you'll be charged if you have excessive wasted food (which is also normal). The KBBQ was also decent. But because this place is marketed towards having both at the table, the selection for each is either limited or just not that tasty. If you're craving one or the other, I would skip this place and go for a dedicated KBBQ restaurant with a bigger selection and better sides and banchan or a dedicated hotpot place where you have enough options and sizes to really flavor your broth. Even the marinated meats tastes quite plain. The plain meats didn't have a nice and clean quality taste to them either. The overall service was okay. The bad parts were dirty bowls, being served rice way too late (and then being dropped off a second rice bowl we did not want to order after checking up on the rice), being served sliced chicken we didn't order, and the lack of notification about the table being ready. The good part was that my designated waiter was actually very nice and accommodating. He checked up on us without us feeling like we were lacking service. He was polite and also thanked other servers. There's also a great selection of alcohol for a standard price, so this would be a good spot for drinking. There were a few birthdays and they do a very ostentatious celebration for each. Tbh it was very loud and I find them annoying, but to other people and drunk people I think they would have a great time. The sauce section had a good selection and I could easily make some great dips! There's recipes on the wall in case you're confused, and there's a section for sides like fried chicken wings and fries for children that do not like the menu options. I also love that I can get an insane amount of radish all at once. There's limited dessert, and I tried this mango pudding or some sort of orange mousse-like dessert cup and found it strange... like I didn't know if I was ok with it or I hated it lol. But there was only one of these sections (at least on my side of the restaurant) so it was overcrowded frequently. Overall, I think I would come here to drink and eat out. I can't imagine coming here thinking this is the pinnacle of either KBBQ or hotpot, but for around $40 an AYCE dinner, I can't complain too much.

Yelp
A solid choice and reasonable pricing. Service was great! I really liked our server. I'd say it's a good spot when you're with a group of people who can't choose what they want to eat. It has both a KBQ and hot pot (additional $5) experience that is about the same or slightly above the price of if you went to an AYCE for either individually. It is pretty spacious but can get busy at dinner time because we spent maybe 30-40 minutes walking around nearby stores before we got a message about our table being available. Admittedly, we preferred the hot pot a lot more than the meats. The meats were ok, I wouldn't say it's my first choice when going for an AYCE KBQ spot in Austin. The hot pot was really good though! I had the Tom Yum base which was the perfect flavor I wanted. I do think I'd come back just because of how much I liked the hot pot (the KBQ would be a plus).

Yelp
Had such a great first experience at K-pot bbq, our waiter Kyle did such an amazing job explaining everything, making sure to check up on us to see that we were good , and of course the ambiance was great ! Everything was nice and clean . Staff came around to collect dirty dishes to make sure we had enough space to keep food coming . Most definitely recommend. A little pricy but totally worth every penny !
