Yelp
Hart Bar straddles the line between dive bar and fancy cool bar, which I think is a big part of its charm. It's a true neighborhood spot, with a huge space and plenty of seating, replete with plants and ambient lighting. It gets especially packed on the weekends, but my pro tip is to make your way to the back if you want to be able to hear your conversation. I love the crowd here and how no one cares what you're doing, which makes it an ideal date spot. In the grand spectrum of New York bars, Hart sits firmly in the middle, as a reliable, faithful place to throw back a few.

Yelp
Very kind and gracious staff (it is ALWAYS the people that matter the most) and holy smokes the space is beautiful. Sadly my other photo ended up blurry. Highly recommend this establishment.

Yelp
I came here to grab drinks with a friend on a Wednesday night. The bar is pretty big and there's a lot of seating. The side room is really cozy and there's lots of plants-- kind of like an indoor patio. Drinks weren't terribly overpriced and the bartenders were nice. It looks like they have live music once in a while, too.

Yelp
Came here for New Years and liked the vibe. Whatever music was happening downstairs made the floor feel like a five speed vibrator, but I wasn't complaining. Drinks were pretty good, fries were even better. Bartenders seem nice and queer friendly. (Both queer and also friendly to me, a queer.) I recommend.

Yelp
I came here on a Sunday afternoon with a few friends for casual afternoon drinks. We were brought here via Tippler NYC. We had the Smokescreen which is a mezcal based Prosecco drink. Cocktail was well crafted and the ambience was really nice. They have a nice patio space for small group gathering as well. Would recommend coming if you're looking for a nice and chill setting!

Yelp
Such a cutie place! Great ambiance and decor* And drink specials *inside is just adorable, don't let the outside fool you!

Yelp
Came to Hart bar for a girls night. I'd describe it as cozy. The drinks are also affordable for Brooklyn.

Yelp
Classic Grilled Cheese - 7/10 A perfectly classic grilled cheese. Great toasted bread and melty cheese. Tomato Soup - 9/10 If you're a fan of sweet tomato soup skip this one. The soup was deliciously savory and packed full of flavor. BBQ Wings - 7/10 These wings were super juicy and the BBQ sauce was tangy and sweet. Tater Tots - 6/10 Typical tater tots, nothing outstanding but still a good snack. Great place to catch up with friends after work. Happy hour drinks are reasonably priced and the Grilled Cheese Alley offers good food!

Yelp
Came here for the first time last night, and I've gotta say, it was pretty darn good. I arrived around 7:30 pm, just before their happy hour ended at 8. Their happy hour is great, by the way. $5 well drinks? Hard to beat that. I ordered several rounds of shots and whisky sour. The whisky sour tasted a little weak on this whiskey, but the flavor was overall pretty good. Tequila is tequila, so you know that's always dependable. The vibe was pretty nice there too. They had good jams playing the whole night. The crowd there was very friendly as well. My only real issue was with the bartender. She knew her drinks pretty well, but didn't really seem too attentive to the customers sometimes. I'm not really sure why that was the case. Overall, I would definitely come back. I think it's a nice local spot, and they represent well. If you're in the area and are looking for a hopping bar, I would definitely recommend Hart Bar.

Yelp
This is my new favorite neighborhood bar!! Great cocktails, music, and lots of seating!

Yelp
I've known about the existence of this bar for like as long as I've lived in bk just never went over-- kind of regretting it because this place rocks and it's a 15 min walk from my house. Just went last night (Sunday) for a few hours. Managed to snag a handful of happy hour drinks that were *very* reasonably priced for cocktails these days and tasty(when we walked in the bartender was juicing the ginger for the baba yagga and it smelled real good in there.) Had the smokescreen, baba yagga, and the French 75's all night. Got some nachos, tacos, and quesadillas to share between the 3 of us and they were yummy, Teresa the cook was lovely. Honestly our bartender was lovely too (didn't get his name but white dude with long brown hair.) Really good chill vibe in there and it sounded like it gets pretty fun on the weekend nights.

Yelp
great bar food! pulled up here on 4/20 and enjoyed the music and food. the homies in the kitchen were truly holding it down. great service over all.

Yelp
One of my favorite places day or night to hang out. I came by for a night cap yesterday and had a great time as always. The cocktails and music are always fantastic. I also love that El Burrito Nacho is right next door.

Yelp
We were looking for bars after bars, and all of them looked pretty crappy around the area..andddd none of them had their ACs on..WHY. When your place is warmer inside than it is outside, then it's time to turn it on. Anyway, we landed upon this place, and the moment we walked in, it straight up smelled like cigarettes. I actually thought it was a place where people can smoke inside for a second. They seemed kind of confused on the vibes they wanted to portray. One side looked very island style, and then they were trying to be this..idk, I'm sure I sound like a hater lol. The drinks alone weren't memorable. They were actually disgustingly strong, and the bartender was so blah. They have food available, but it's a separate business that you also pay separately. Bf ordered nachos for the both of us, they were $4 each..and it was just the saddest serving of nachos you'd ever get. I know it's a different business, but it's worth writing about. You literally will get like 4-5 tortilla chips each, BUT..each one of them was made with love. So..the nachos were good, but you're practically paying $1 per chip LOL.

Yelp
great bar! very cheap drinks ($5 tequila for patron grade). what a nice vibe as well! I mostly stayed in the patio area that gave us more space to relax. cocktails were decent as well

Yelp
This bar was lovely. Came here to take pictures/see my friends band play back in January and the atmosphere was really nice!

Yelp
I had a long day, this place looked cute, I was super hungry and didn't want to walk far. This bar is across the street from me & I thought it would be exactly what I needed. I 1100/10 don't recommend. Rude service, horrendous drinks, noticed everyone at least got a glass cup & I got plastic, which is unnecessarily passive aggressive to speak to the fact I'm not a hipster. I walked in friendly and asked if food was at the bar and apparently that pissed off the bar tender. Grilled cheese is meant to be eaten hammered drunk.

Jason D.

Yelp
Couldn't speak any higher of this place. The staff feels like family. Great neighborhood bar with great regulars. Good prices and a good vibe.

Yelp
Nice venue. Srink prices are exceptional. Decor look awesome. And its only a sunday!!

Yelp
Interesting spot. I ordered the Baba Yaga cocktail (interesting name) delicious drink. This bar has a hipster vibe.

Yelp
This bar is new and is need of some solid reviews. Or maybe they don't. Time will tell. Or maybe it won't. Maybe this is exactly the moment in which this review is prevalent. This bar exists in a sea of constantly changing, constantly new, and trendy bars. There is no shortage of eager young patrons in this area. They have places they go and places they like. This bar opens up and offers an alternative to trend. They offer a place that tries to ride under the radar as long as they can. There are bar specials that can compete and some minimal bar grub. They offer a show space in their basement that rivals philly house shows. They have a bigger appeal that is the focus point of their whole bar which I will talk about in a second. Point is is that they keep it low and let it speak for itself. And for a bar in this part of town that's an admirable quality. The biggest appeal of this bar is that they have an entire outside area that is technically inside. They have an outside patio area completely enclosed that smokers can smoke in and people who want to be inside can be inside. The patio was built around a beautifully untouched exterior than resembles a New Orleans townhouse. Shadows of ferns cut through the old, untouched windows. There is a collective vibe that everyone in this bar just discovered it and might want to keep it a secret. It's a special edition to the ever building forlorn conclusion that Bushwick will become populated with trendy bars that the people who live here won't want to attend. It is a beacon of hope of personality that it's patrons desperately desire. Who knows how long it's success will repress that appeal? I've never got a sandwich here. Who cares honestly. They offer it. It's not why you are here, it's a luxury if you want it, i image. As of now it succeeds at that conclusion. Bartenders struggle with playing their favorite vinyl on the turn table as the rest of the bar is invested and helps. This bar is interested in their patrons and that's what this part of town desperately wants. Come here and feel safe. Come here and feel good. They are looking to impress you and they have, every time I've been here.

Yelp
Cool spot in Bed-stuy and used to be one of my favorite bars, but there's a general consensus among most of us, the bartender with blonde hair.... she's a complete asshole! Just... just go and see for yourself. Never polite, always talking shit, etc. Everyone else is absolutely amazing though-- Especially Eden! :) Cheers!
google avatar

Kiana S.

Yelp
It's a really cool spot, with a really cool bartender. Covered patio makes it's nice for the cooler weather.

Yelp
If you just moved to Bushwick or have been kick in it in this hood for a decade this should be your go-to spot for proper cocktails paired with a low hipsters headcount. The spot has swank appeal and it's not packed to the brim. Music is at a conversation volume level and not to mention its a great playlist/dj. .

Yelp
This part of bushwick badly needed a go-to bar. Though there's quite a few towards the L train, and a handful by the J/M trains, there isn't really much in between. Hart Bar is a cozy, casual bar that's only a block and a half down from everyone@: favorite vegan bakery, BK Whiskers. They've just reopened about a month ago, and I can already tell it'll be the new spot this summer. Drinks aren't crazy expensive (we got two cocktails for $12), and they've got sandwiches and tomato soup! Veg options also available. Such a great vibe, too, wifh the comfy layout, good lightning, and great old school jazz music.

Yelp
A fun little local bar! I love to hang out on the outdoor patio in the warm weather, and the prices are very reasonable! Super cool space inside as well. Relatively new to the area, but this is already a place we frequent!

Eamon W.

Yelp
Went here Monday night and had a great evening; Mark the bartender was really cool and the holmeberg cocktail ($12) is delicious if you like whiskey. I wish they had some heat lamps in the semi-outdoor patio area, but this being a dive bar and everyone making do with restrictions these days, I won't fault them too much. Hopefully they find a way to stay open through the winter!

Yelp
In response to Max C.'s inaccurate review...I watched this go down. The bartender simply asked a girl for her ID. The ID seemed suspect plus she looked underage so the bartender asked her what her address was. When she wasn't able to say it she got upset and began to argue with him. This seemed to annoy him but he was simply doing his job. To call him sexist for that is insane. This bar is super fun.

Yelp
Man, I'm gald this is not closer to my apartment. Brilliant comfy local bar with a solid beer and cocktail menu and some great grilled cheese. Not to mention the most epic covered backyard in bar history.

Yelp
Hidden gem, off the beaten path. Exactly what I was looking for as an alternative to the crowded Bushwick scene. Amazing space, architecturally. Aesthetic. Cozy. Comforting assortment of regulars. Thanks.

Micah D.

Yelp
Went here once a few months ago and decided against ever going again. Despite the bar nearly empty, the bartender would not come and serve me or the Latin gentleman to my left (he ended up leaving without ordering a drink). Had to wait for a white male friend to show up (teetotaler) for the bartender to even approach me and he acted as if it was a bother. It's extremely easy to not be racist when bartending or doing anything else in life. Management hopefully by now has talked to staff but I won't be back to find out.

Yelp
One of the best places to drink and see weirdo music in Brooklyn. Great bar, super nice folks. Very supportive of the furthest out noise bands/artists who otherwise would struggle to find venues for NYC shows.

Yelp
Went here on a Sunday night after dinner and loved the atmosphere and everything about this bar. Very cute patio (didn't sit there because it was way too humid). Lost one star because the bartender didn't give a F and was either on her phone or talking to her friends. She was very sweet but just not attentive at all. Literally waited for 5-10 minutes each time to get our drinks when there was only about 10 people there, and they all had their drinks already smh!

Yelp
I loved this place! Came here on a Tuesday night and there were a few other people but it was pretty calm and quiet. The atmosphere was nice and chill, there's really a lot of space and a good vibe. They even have a "patio" area for smoking. They have a good happy hour that goes til late, I believe $5 well, and $10 signature cocktails. My friend and I each had a cocktail, they were very good. The only reason it's a 4 out of 5 stars for me is that the way the food service was handled was a little clumsy. There is a pop-up kitchen, not affiliated with the bar, that serves grilled cheese, tatter-tots and other basics. You go over to the side kitchen and give them your order and they bring it out to wherever you are in the bar. The food was average but I was happy that there was food at all. Someone from the kitchen brought our food and checked on us, taking our plates and such, it was very nice but felt a little strange since we were in a bar, not a restaurant. I would've been just as happy to pick up the food myself and then be left alone with it :) Overall this is a great new place and I will 100% be back soon.

Yelp
Cozy spot in Bushwick near the jmz express stop. Spacious lots of wood decore. Very nice to see new places open up in the neighborhood. Near Bossa Nova forma dancing, this spot played hip hop when I visited. Can see the place playing jazz hip hop or EDM. They have turntables. Place feels like someone's living room.

Yelp
This place has the HOTTEST bartenders. And I'm a professional yelper, so I would know. Just saying.
google avatar

Robert D.

Yelp
Hart bar has a cool atmosphere, good drink specials. But the cheese in the grilled cheese wasn't melted, and the avocado wasn't ripe. It's a cheap place, but for a restaurant that specializes in grilled cheese, it should be better.
google avatar

Ariel N.

Yelp
Horrible service I asked for a drink on the board and he said no I'm like what your not even busy. He's like he doesn't do any cocktail drinks. So why have a board in the first place?

Jessica M.

Yelp
I have lived near this bar for three years. My husband and I typically LOVE the cocktails there, but a few times we have felt a bit slighted by one of the bartenders and felt we should review. We have our favorite cocktails, and know what they taste like. Tonight, we ordered a drink that we usually love, and it tasted like a gin and soda- I thought so, my husband did, and our friend who has never been there before. When we let the bartender know, she said "there was no soda in it" and left it at that. I've worked in the service industry for many years and was a little put off by her response. Ultimately, we love this place but will never go when she's bartending again.
google avatar

Paige F.

Yelp
Great service from the bartender and very tasty cocktails. Pretty standard prices and cute decor/ambiance. Can't believe we haven't been here before. Will be back!

Yelp
Great place to drink, with a cool indoor/outdoor patio situation and a killer grilled cheese menu with tons of fresh ingredients, including perfectly ripe avocados

Yelp
Wow! Just left here after my friends got yelled at by the irate bartender. The female bartender there is professional. The dude is irrational and delusional. He flipped out when my friend misheard him saying to wait since the bar is crowded. Refused to serve him...fine ok. While I patiently waited for the female bartender to serve me, he swooped in and said no beers for me. Maybe it's his first night...maybe he's just an asshole. We will never know. He looks like Christopher Lloyd from "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" but with longer black hair. Sorry you can't handle a busy bar dude. We really did not mean to offend....but still you kinda really suck.

Keith S.

Yelp
They offered a package for COVID-19 where you order a free snack on Grubhub and then you can order a "make your own" kit with mixers and a flask. After waiting 2 hours for delivery they gave me the rundown that it's on Grubhub to follow through with the delivery. To make up for it they doubled my snacks and mixers at no charge and even threw in a lime to garnish my drinks! 10/10 would order again and definitely will patronize once Coronavirus settles down!

Oleksandr M.

Yelp
That was my first time at this place but it will be the last one for sure, the first drink that I ordered (jin&tonic) I asked for some lime juice in it which I never got, the drink was so nasty, Tonic water from the gun was definitely flat so the whole drink was disgusting, whatever after that I order a Cosmo, was waiting to order it for like 25 minutes, bar was busy so it's understandable, cosmo was ok, we set at a high tap table, everyone was passing by shaking my chair and a table which was wobbling too, so my drink got half spelled, too many rude drunks in here that don't give a f**k, I mean the atmosphere and place is still nice, the bartenders are nice too, drinks are not good and crowed is nasty, my opinion, your choice, won't go back here

Gia S.

Yelp
My best friend and I came here for the first time tonight and had a blast. We both live in the area and have now found our "go to" bar. The drinks are reasonably priced, especially the happy hour prices, the food is delicious, and the service is 10/10. There's a variety of atmospheres to explore. You can sit at the bar and enjoy classic rock music, go to the patio, or head downstairs for live music. I'm so glad we came!will definitely be visiting again frequently, and highly recommend.

Kendall M.

Yelp
While it looks tiny from the outside, the bar is quite spacious with a cozy greenhouse in front and plenty of seats at the bar in back. Delicious cocktails and friendly staff -- special shout out to the late night grilled cheese menu

Alex K.

Yelp
This place is great. The bartender was friendly, the playlist was perfect for a wednesday night (chilled reggae) the decor was cool. Nice crowd. 3 bucks for a narragansett.. you cant really go wrong. Great little neighborhood bar!

Mike N.

Yelp
love going to sit out on the patio and enjoy the seating and conversation with friends..also the basement is great for having parties
