My friends highly recommended 555 Boat Noodles, so we decided to give it a try. The first thing you notice right away is how small and packed the space is — at times, it feels like there's barely any air to breathe. But in a way, that adds to the authentic vibe, making you feel like you’re actually somewhere in Thailand. I ordered Kao Lao — some kind of beef soup with rice on the side. We also got pork and shrimp dumplings to share. My friends ordered the Tom Yum seafood soup and the noodle soup. Overall, the food was quite tasty. The only issue I had was that my dish wasn’t marked as spicy on the menu — and I personally don’t enjoy spicy food. The meat itself was amazing: juicy, tender, and full of flavor. But the soup was way too spicy for me, and I couldn’t even finish half of it. That said, my friends were all happy with their meals. The service was decent, especially considering how busy the place was. We also ordered mango sticky rice, and it was my first time trying it. I loved it — the mix of textures and flavors really impressed me. In conclusion, this place is very colorful and definitely reflects Thai culture well. The decor is charming, and the food is delicious. I definitely recommend it and look forward to trying more dishes next time!

Google
quick service and amazing flavour - specially the appetizers. food is not overly spicy, very tolerable. my faves were the - dried noodles with beef, fried wonton, and fish cakes. all were super flavourful, great portions and were served very quickly. their mango sticky rice is divine - must try they do not take reservations and have very limited seating - so if you don’t want wait, definitely visit outside of peak hours.

I’d say this is a unique Thai cuisine—it may not be fully authentic, but the food is good! Portions are generous, so even the small bowl options are filling. The boat noodles are unique, with a rich, dense broth. As for the mango sticky rice, it’s pretty close to the real deal and honestly, really tasty. I’ve been back three times already, so that says a lot!

Foods are good, the boat noodles with beef are flavorful, and the beef is tender. The fried wontons are quite delicious. The vibe reminds me of a Thai restaurant. The service is great, but the tables seem a bit too small, and the dessert is just okay. Price is reasonable.

This is probably my favorite place for Thai food. Affordable, well-portioned and balanced with noodles, broth, proteins and vegetables all for $15. Everything I've tried at this restaurant is delicious. I've tried the boat noodles, pork on rice, lemon pork noodles and they never disappoint! The broth is made out of 20 different herbs and prepared overnight, which explains the broth's rich flavour. The dishes are sour and spicy enough that you feel the tingle but it's not so overwhelming where you start having stomach aches afterwards. As someone who has a sensitive stomach but loves spice, the food here suits me. If you like more spice, they have extra chilli and sauces too which you can add. In terms of atmosphere, it does feel like I'm being transported back into Thailand for a brief moment, especially with the recent hot weather in Toronto. With the decor, the tables and iconic Rooster noodle bowls and Thai music playing in the background, it reminds me of the times I'd eat in a busy food court in Thailand. For service, everyone who has served me here has always been friendly, helpful, hospitable and if it's not that busy, they're also happy to answer questions about the food you order and share more details about it!

Google
came here on a Friday evening with no wait! the service is great and the interior is cozy - love that there’s also a small Thai store at the entrance The boat noodle broth was amazing!!! and our fried wontons were good too definitely one of the best Thai spots in downtown :)

This place is interesting because it has a small central grocery store in the centre with an ice cream booth, then two restaurants off that central area. We actually went into the other restaurant at first by accident not knowing that, but eventually realized we were in the wrong dining room and got to 555 Boat Noodles at the opposite end. The interior is quaint, and designed maybe as if you’re eating outside like you might in Asia. They have a few tables and it’s a modest sized dining area. We were able to get a table right away for three people on a Monday evening. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. They were also pretty attentive throughout our visit. The food is pretty great. The shrimp dumplings were excellent - I liked that the dumplings weren’t too heavy, and the shrimp was super flavourful. The fish balls were also great, and came with a nice sweet and sour tamarind sauce. I had the beef rice bowl (small) for my entree. Even though this was a “small” portion, I’d say it’s pretty generous. It came with a clear broth soup on the side. The soup was on the saltier side, but it was okay otherwise. The beef on the rice dish was a bit tough, but the braised beef were softer. I had the longan pandan juice. This had a nice flavour to it, but it does feel skimpy since there’s a lot of ice and it’s a drink that you can crush in no time. The consistency is like flavoured water. Their thai iced tea on the other hand was flavourful and a lot more satisfying. All in all, great food at a good cost. I’d come back and recommend it for people to try in the area.

Update: Came here again, and this time was able to get the mango sticky rice dessert (sold out last time I came). It was so good. The warm bed of glutinous rice topped with sweet coconut milk and fresh seasonal mangos goes crazy. It’s honestly perfect for any mango sticky rice aficionado. — I went here for dinner, and the food was fantastic. The servers and staff were so friendly! I thoroughly enjoyed all the dishes we ordered. I had the pork wonton noodles, and it was delicious, especially when paired with the chili sauce. The pricing was reasonable as well. The space is quite small, so seating is limited.

Yelp
It was snowing outside, which means it's time for some hearty noodle soup. I saw boat noodle on 555 Boat Noodle menu and immediately knew I needed to try it. Ambiance 4/5: a cute homey restaurant but it was small. Maybe holding max of 30 ppl, and at that capacity, there wasn't any path to walk or move around. You are literally shoulder to shoulder and walking in between a foot (I'm from the US so you do the math on what that is in metric lol) or two of "walk space" between tables. I almost tripped leaving the space. Customer Service 5/5: even though it was crowded on a Sunday night, everyone was tentative. The server came and apologized for the delay and seating arrangements. I really appreciated that. Food 5/5: I ordered the boat noodle, spicy. It was good, pretty flavorful. The waitress brought over the spices so I can adjust to my taste. I was able to make it more spicy and sweet/tangy. The braised beef was tender and the meatballs were a bit chewy, just how I like them. I wish I hadn't gotten the vermicelli since it was so thin, it had no chew to it; it just soaked up the broth. I would have opted for a thicker noodle. I live in California and have had multiple renowned boat noodles. I feel that based on location, this is a good hidden gem but it's different than the ones in California. Regardless, I enjoyed my meal and will come back if I'm ever in Toronto again.

Yelp
This is a relatively new Thai place near Yonge and College. The menu is small, with a focus on their signature "Thai Boat Noodle" dish. I tried the Medium-size Thai Boat Noodles with beef and rice noodles, the fried wontons and the Yum Mama. The standout was definitely the Thai boat noodles and I would recommend it. It is very flavorful, not oily, and only a little spicy. It comes with some beef balls and sliced beef which was very tender. The fried wontons and Yum Mama were also pretty good. The "Yum Yum" dishes are a hybrid salad type dish. They are very herby with strong mint / lime flavors. If you're not into that sort of flavor, I'd recommend skipping it, but I found it quite good. You're also given a tray of condiments on the table which I believe is fish sauce, chili oil, sugar, and a mixed fish sauce with chilis. Service is very good. The vibe, to me, is trying to emulate the traditional Thai restaurants. The area is quite small (only fits max 20 people), and there is limited place to put your coats or bags. Definitely more of an issue for larger groups or in the winter when everything is cold and wet.

Yelp
Located just north of College Station is 555 Boat Noodles. This cute shop is tucked away just off the main road and has limited seating. My party of 3 came on a Sunday evening around 6pm and there was maybe a 15-20 minute wait. What we got: - Boat Noodles with Beef - Lemon Pork with Rice Noodles - Yum Woonsen - Thai Iced Tea Final Thoughts: I got a medium, but the portion size is quite large even though it doesn't look like it! I really enjoyed both noodle soups. I got the lemon pork, but asked for it without the peanuts as I'm allergic and my waitress was very accommodating making sure the kitchen knew and checking in with us when our food arrived. The Thai iced tea was quite sweet and we had to wait for the ice to water it down a bit. I enjoyed the food here and would come back, but would recommend coming on off hours as there isn't anywhere to wait when it gets busy and only a handful of tables.

Yelp
Way too overrated for the main dishes. The flavor is not complex at all I can taste what condiments are in: Lee Kum Kee chilli sauce with msg. I wanted to give a 2/5 but 3/5 for the mango sticky rice. Service is ok. The ambiance is crowded maybe the restaurant wants a street food vibe. Unfortunately, the AC is barely on in a -10 degrees weather :(

Yelp
Everything at 555 Boat Noodles felt very homey. I ordered the pork and shrimp dumplings, lemon pork noodles with rice noodles (M), and mango sticky rice for dessert. I loved the lemon pork noodles--the broth was tangy and not too salty, with a delicious homemade flavour. The only downside was that the rice noodles broke apart too easily, but overall, it was really good. I'd love to try something new next time. The pork and shrimp dumplings were the highlight. The filling was bouncy and flavourful, and the green sauce added a perfect, zesty kick. The mango sticky rice was good but nothing special. I'd definitely return to 555 Boat Noodles. The food was great, the service was excellent, and the washroom was super clean.

Yelp
This place has a really lovely 'homey' feel to it. It felt like finding a small hidden gem. The Thai boat noodles reminded me of Vietnamese pho with more of a beef flavoured twist to it. And although the menu said it was going to be spicy, the spice level was actually quite nice and mild. The broth was flavourful and the braised beef was quite tender. The price was not cheap, but probably around average for the area: Small beef boat noodles - $15 Medium braised beef boat noodles - $20 Thai milk tea - $6 Service was good. Friendly staff and they even have a hook wall for coats. They were attentive to our peanut allergy (although unable to accommodate being cross-contamination free).

Yelp
Delicious! Will definitely be back to try other items on the menu (including the gelato/ice cream). The place is small - keep in mind if going with a larger group but perfect for groups of 2 or 3 people. The servers were very kind and helped answer questions. I would highly recommend the lemon pork. Had a nice kick of spice but was also well paired with the lemony broth.

Yelp
Highly recommend the dry noodles over the soup one! (Although both are good) overall a great spot but a bit pricey. Suggest opting out of the drinks that are 6 bucks thats mainly ice. Mango sticky rice is a must!!! Would come back if in the area.

Yelp
Got the classic boat noodles & I love that you get to choose your protein and noodles. I went for the braised beef with the wonton noodles. A winter must-try if you're ever in the Yonge & Wellesley area

Yelp
555 Boat Noodles, located along Grosvenor St. near Yonge St., is Toronto's newest Thai restaurant serving authentic boat noodles. They offer a wide selection of noodle soups (boat - choice of beef, braised beef, or pork, pork, lemon pork, tom yum seafood, pork ribs, yentafo) where you can choose your noodle of choice - either wonton noodles, rice noodles, or vermicelli. You can also choose your portion size as well (small or medium). They also have some appetizers as well as yum (I believe a cold Thai noodle dish), rice and drinks/desserts. The restaurant is small where there is seating for about 30 customers. They are currently in their soft opening phase. I stopped by 555 Boat Noodles on a Wed late morning right when they opened at around 11:30am. The restaurant already had several occupied tables. As soon as I sat down, staff gave me a small sheet with a QR code to view their menu. I opted to get the small pork noodle (Chinese broccoli, garlic, coriander, bean sprouts, onion) with rice noodles. I also opted for a fried wonton appetizer (friend shrimp and pork wonton with a spicy chili sauce) and kek huay (chrysanthemum juice). The food was made at a reasonable time. The fried wontons were smaller than I expected but had a delicious crunch and the spicy chili sauce was sweet but not overly spicy. The pork noodles were delicious - the broth it was in packed so much flavour! The pork noodle came with slices of pork 2 pork balls as well as a pork meatball. I enjoyed the noodle soup and definitely was thinking about the next time I would come back to try other items. Overall, great new place for Thai noodles in the downtown area! Service was friendly and food was great. Definitely will return for more!

Yelp
Dropped by on a cold winter afternoon. The place was packed and there was a significant queue to get a spot. After about a 20 minute wait or so, a table freed up. The service was very good but the table layout isn't exactly the best. It is not very spacious for some of the tables. It seems they tried to cramp as many tables in the store vs comfort. The food was good. Tried their signature boat noodles, fried wonton, longan drink and dessert. Overall, it hit the spot. Will revisit in the future.

Yelp
A newly opened quaint restaurant at Yonge and Grosvenor, bringing authentic thai flavours with a spin of the iconic boat noodles. I tried the braised beef noodles. It was very flavourful, less broth than I expected. The small size was small but enough for me. Small size is $15, large size is $20. I ordered the appetizer shrimp & pork dumplings. I highly recommend it, the spice level was mild. I can't handle much spice but this was very good. The dining area is very small and they managed to fit many tables. It's good for 2-4 people sized groups, large party sizes will be quite squished. I came at opening time 12pm. By 12:10pm , the entire restaurant was filled. Only one - two waiter for the entire restaurant, the service can be a bit slow or you can flag them down.

Yelp
No reservations taken. Came on Thursday for dinner. The greeter took my number and told me approximately 10-15 minutes. And yeah sure enough it was roughly that time. It's a small cozy place with cartoons and Thai verbiage on the walls. Tight spaces, but it was alright. The food was delicious! It was enough for myself. The dessert was just right and that's it. That was dinner. Called it a night. Will come back again !!!!!

Yelp
A nice addition to thai food scene in Toronto. This restaurant mainly focuses on noodles bowls with a few items for appetizers. We went on a Tuesday night and had to wait about 30 mins. I got the lemon pork noodles in size small which was quite a decent portion. The broth was lemony and refreshing, and the bowl was loaded up with noodles and protein. It was exactly what I needed on a cold winter night. Would definitely come back to try other noodles. The restaurant is quite small and tight. I wish they have more waiting space as it's too cold to wait outside.

Yelp
The Tom yum soup tastes soooo good. It's not that spicy, I like the sour taste. Really authentic!

Yelp
Just came out of the gym, passed by this restaurant, thought I gave it a try! And boy did it not disappoint! The flavours were bold and tasty! However their portion size is a smaller than anticipated. Servers were nice, they recommended the boat noodles. So I got the beef with rice noodles and I also order a pandan longan juice. Would definitely come back here again to try other things on the menu.

Yelp
Excellent noodle soups. Wait time can be long so come prepared to wait. Had boat noodles, lemon pork and the seafood one. Boat noodle and lemon pork are by far the best. Seafood one is good too. Would definitely come back.

Yelp
Ordered takeout - beef boat noodles. Flavor was decent with a good amount of noodles. Big problem is they didn't give enough soup, so by the time it was reheated, all the soup was soaked into the noodles. It was not a good experiencing trying to have a noodle soup with no soup. The braised beef was also kind of dry. Probably will not try again.

Mateo H.

Yelp
The boat noodles were definitely my favorite--such a flavorful broth, and the spice level was just perfect for me. The servers were really attentive and gave great recommendations, which made the experience even better. The place isn't too big, but it has a really cozy, welcoming vibe that makes you feel right at home.

Yelp
Authentic, delicious boat noodles that transport you to Thailand. Such a fun ambiance. Simply delightful!

Yelp
good food and good service, but watch out for peanuts if you have allergies. The restaurant interior design is cute too. it is a bit pricey but I recommend this place.
