Was in the area and hubby picked this spot for lunch. Service was fantastic! The menu is extensive not like traditional 50s diner but the look and feel is. The food was serves hot and fast. Their Italian wedding soup was delicious. I love gravy on my fries!!! Would give this another try if in the area. Keep up the good work🍽🍴🍟🍔😁👩‍🍳

Today I had the turkey bacon club sandwich on wheat bread. It had no flavor at all. The bread was grocery store bread and the turkey had no seasoning, no taste. With a little more mayonnaise it might have been a bit better. I had a side order of fries and they were very good. The table service was fine.

During my recent pickup order, a short employee at the door was incredibly rude and acted in a racist manner towards my friend, telling them to leave. The experience was upsetting and completely unprofessional. This behavior is unacceptable, and I am deeply disappointed. It ruined what should have been a simple and positive experience.

Google
Visited twice and each time ⏲️ it was nice, once for brunch the second time for lunch, and I was completely satisfied. Very quiet atmosphere, great selection too, waitress was professional and friendly, this might be a good place for you too.

Google
Super cool old school diner vibes😎 I took my family here for a Sunday dinner and we had a great experience. The hostess and waiter were both super friendly and accommodating. The food was basic comfort food done well😋 the cheesecake with strawberries on top was the best👍

Google
Everything was above average. Food, service, and atmosphere. Their Ruben burger was juicy and filling, with a healthy side of the freshest fries. Definitely would recommend and will be returning to try more of their menu. Thank you for a great experience.

Yelp
The outside appearance is awesome! Love they kept the vibe from back in the day. Inside is the same! The jukebox brings me back when i was a kid! Missed them! The staff was awesome and friendly! Heard them sing happy birthday to another person! Most resturants dont do that anymore! Also the food was great! That ham steak! WOW! All in all definitely coming back out here!

Yelp
Best diner in the area! Favorites: Black Diamond Steak, Corn Nuggets, Eggs and Home Fries Pancakes were disappointing - tasted like Aunt Jemima's.

Yelp
Traveled from Lebanon county, and were very pleased. Server was friendly and nice and food came out quick, hot and yummy! The place was very clean. We went back this weekend, my hubby got the same and I tried a egg and cheese sandwich on a bagel. It was yummy yummy, just like what I would have made for myself except I didn't have to make it and clean up...haha...please remember to support local businesses!!! And thanks to the restaurant owner and staff for sticking it out through these tough times! We appreciate you all!

Yelp
I've only eaten breakfast here and it's fantastic. Great potatoes, 4 slices of bacon and extra large eggs. $7.50 with coffee. Are you kidding me?

Yelp
Food was delicious but ice cold. I had open roast beef sandwich with mashed potatoes and gravy. The gravy wad slightly warm. That's it. I didn't send it back as there was only 1 waitress and she was swamped. Hubbys soup was hot.

Yelp
Nothing could be finer then the 5th street diner! 5th street as the locals call it has high quality diner food at low prices with a cool retro feel that brings you back to the 50's. When I lived in the area we would always stop by a few times a month for some fantastic diner food. 10 years later I see that place has not changed at all. The service is still great and food is still delicious. Really anything that you order on the menu here is going to be good. We stopped by on Thanksgiving day because well, diners just never close and I wanted to take my wife to at true diner and not a Waffle house ( we live in Tx). The diner that popped in my head with 5th st. I'm really glad I took her here since she really enjoyed the whole experience. I ordered the crab cake eggs benedict and wow that was a show stopper. The crab cakes were cooked to perfection and the hollandaise sauce mixed well with the crab. I never heard of such a amalgamation of crab and egg but when I saw it, I knew I must eat it, and I'm glad I did. The wife ordered a spanish omelette was pretty good as well. If she was writing the review she might of given 5th st. four stars. But since I know the consistency of this place I'm giving it five. Lastly I still love the fact that you can play music at your table on the juke box and now that I have a child I noticed that the staff is super friendly towards kids. I really wanted to eat some desert that was by the counter, but it was turkey day so I had to save some room. Overall if you want a true diner experience then I highly recommend the 5th St diner.

Yelp
I love this restaurant. I bring my grandkids here all of the time! We love it here. The service and food is amazing. This place is a 5/5 in my book and I will definitely be hanging with the gals here soon! My one granddaughter loves the chicken tenders and every time I see her she asks to go get some!!
google avatar

Yelp
It was okay it just that my son is not a. Big eatet also the machine to play music didn't work put 50 cents in don't waste your money here at all

Yelp
Was here for breakfast this morning and my wife ordered a waffle with strawberry's. What came to our table was anything but, we were shocked they would send something like this to a table. Waffle was cold and looked like it was left in the waffle maker and pulled out in pieces. Regret we didn't take a photo of this disgusting item. Will never eat there again.

Yelp
This is our local diner... We've been going there for years. Some of the food items are better than others, here are a few of our favorites: As far as simple things go, we enjoy a basket of onion rings (always tasty & definitely large enough to share). The fried chicken salad or grilled shrimp salad are decent (though I'll always ask for romaine lettuce since it has more personality than iceberg)... Sandwiches: the cheeseburger club is a good -- I always ask for it on sourdough bread. All club sandwiches comes with a small bag of chips. Other favorites include the traditional gyro or Monte Cristo. While I am sure that the gyro meat is previously frozen, it is good (I can't imagine a diner selling enough to have a full-fledged vertical rotisserie.) My wife likes the cheese steak wrap with the sauce on the side. They do offer quite a selection of "Early Bird" specials that come with one less vegetable than the regular menu items, a slightly smaller serving, and your choice of pudding, ice cream or jell-o for dessert. Of those choices, I strongly recommend the tapioca pudding -- they make it there. Of the Early Birds, the chicken croquettes still come with two actual croquettes, so you end up having some to take home... Breakfast is pretty much your standard diner fair. The omelettes served over breakfast hours include homefries or hash browns -- you will pay extra for that outside of normal breakfast hours. I've had their blintzes; they're good, but the fruit topping is certainly out of a can.

Yelp
Was out doing errands with my sister and stopped here to have some dinner. It wasn't overly busy and we were seated immediately. We were at a table with another table very close behind us. It felt way too close for comfort honestly. That was made even more apparent when the older man at that table constantly burped loudly throughout the entire time we were there. Absolutely disgusting, especially about 3 feet from us while we were trying to eat. This couple seemed like regulars so I'm sure that the staff is familiar with this behavior. My sister has a gluten allergy and ordered marinated chicken breast over rice. It came out with gravy poured all over it. We both found it unusual and it wasn't listed on the menu. She had to send it back. I ordered an appetizer and my dinner came with a cup of soup. The appetizer came out 2 mins before my entree and then I had to remind the server that I didn't get the soup. The meatloaf that I had was decent but lobster bisque soup was tasteless. Even though I love diners and I try to support local businesses when I'm in different areas, I don't think I would waste my money here again based on my overall experience

Yelp
Ordered the veggie burger and fries.. they bring my burger with a tiny bag of chips and said fries are coming. Fries never came. Veggie burger was mushy... oh and they forgot the mayo!

Yelp
I've come here a crap load of times and every time the service sucks! I honestly do not know what is up the asses of the waitresses that work here. They're snooty rude and act like they're doing us a favor. Last time My hubby and I went there the waitress even rolled her eyes when we walked in and to our luck the same eye roller waited on us and was rude. I ordered eggs and bacon and my hubby orders eggs and was about to tell her what type of meat he wanted with his eggs and she started walking away. I had to call her back and she rolled her eyes and sighed. Of course I started laughing in disbelief. I will not be back because every waitress there have a shit attitude. PS.. the food was always good.

Yelp
the services is unpleasant, the lady at front is not welcome customer ( not say hello neither bye when customers leaving),she's keeping on her cellphone all the time, the services of waitress is horrible , they're not clean the foods away, we asked for a refill coffee, she is filled coffee out of cup. I do a business too ,you should to services everyone in good cause if customers is happy they can bring more business for you

Yelp
If I could put negative stars on here I would, I had the worst service... A piece of broken tooth pick was inside of my hamburger club... I told the waitress... She asked me what she expected her to do... I told her to take it, I was afraid there was more broken tooth pick... She was very cocky with me and after a few minutes asked me if I wanted something else... I said no... After about 10 more minutes, she asked my daughter if she needed a box and then finally apologized to me. . It was the end of the toothpick... Prob broke when they were building it... Because the other toothpick was still whole... They knew it broke just shoved a new one in... I could have choked on it or it could have injured my throat had I swallowed it... I've worked in restaurants, I've been a cook and a waitress... And I never would have treated a customer like I was treated...

Yelp
Cute little diner. Great turkey club. Friendly wait staff. Cute decorations for 4th of July. The atmosphere was reminiscent of a 50s style diner, complete with table side juke boxes.

Zach E.

Yelp
Don't waste your time. Huge menu... means everything is frozen. Burger had no flavor. Crabby fries were a joke. A dash of Old Bay on plain fries do not make them "crabby."

Yelp
The service has really gone down hill. I went there last weekend with my family. There were 6 of us in total, 2 kids. We sat at the table for 30minutes and no one even took our drink order. All around us the waitresses served everyone else and didn't even look in our direction. When we got up and left, no one even seemed to care. It was embarrassing and disappointing because they usually have good food.

Yelp
Food was very good. Problem was waitress barely spoke english. She then carried on a long , loud conversation with her coworker. Very distracting when your trying to have a nice dinner. Took away from the overall quality of the experience.

Yelp
I haven't ate here in almost 5 years so today my girlfriend and I decided to have breakfast here. We were seated right away when upon arrival, but given a seat next to the window near the entrance where the cool breeze is constantly coming out from. CDC guidelines are already not being followed because all customers are not socially distant. Our waitress didn't tell us her name and was being in a constant rush which I can understand because it's breakfast rush hours. Drinks were received in a dirty cup... When our food arrived it was cold... French Toast however was sooo good as always. Eggs were not seasoned, homefries were stone cold, toast was soggy. My utensils were FILTHY. My fork was clean though. When I asked the waitress for another knife she didn't even let me finish saying it was already dirty. She then gave me another knife without the wrap around it touching it with her bare hands... Unbelievable hahaha! I always had a good experience coming here but today was just not it. And, even other customers has dirty cups. I didn't wanna leave a tip but my girlfriend insisted in a way. I felt like it was not deserved. But, I decided to be nice. Dang man. Will not be coming here again after that experience. I will say I do feel a little sick after this as well.

Sheila R.

Yelp
If I could give negative stars, I would. We ordered through door dash and our order was totally wrong. I ordered 2 chicken fingers dinners, 1 gyro dinner and a Mexican wrap. We received 1 gyro dinner, and 2 chicken finger appetizers, which consisted of 3 chicken fingers each. When we called the restaurant, they totally blew us off. Never again with door dash (50+ dollars) or 5th Street.

Yelp
Horrible food. Service not good i went there 3 times never again. Don't wast your time!

K L.

Yelp
The portions were large. The taste was ok. We had typical breakfast foods. When you order cinnamon toast that is white bread with cinnamon sugar on it. Kids portions were as big as adults. My kids were both full and they are 9 and 12. There were 2 things that bugged me. My eggs were requested fried hard but came out with runny yolk. Gross! I sent them back and they put my eggs which had been on my plate back on the grill and then re-served them to me. I'm grossed out by this. Maybe it's me. They should have cooked 2 new eggs as opposed to contaminating the grill. If that goes on I am worried about what I can't see in the kitchen. Then when I went to pay the girl wasn't sure if they took the 10% Reading eagle rewards discount

John D.

Yelp
I love this diner. Great food. Large portions, and the waitstaff treats you like family. Try the breakfast special.

Allison K.

Yelp
Went here 1 & only time. It was later at night.(8ish) .not very busy at all. lady who sat us seemed annoyed we were even there. we were sat in a table in the middle. waiter seemed to be annoyed with us saying no mayo & adding things to our order. everything came out fine. Not good portions. Got a stuffed chicken, chicken wasn't very flavorful & you could tell it was sitting around. They also sat a family with 4 kids & 1 mother, right next to us. Kids watched us eat while we heard the mother bitching about the menu. It wasn't that full that they had to sit them right on top of us. There are too many other great diners in the area. We will not be returning to this one. Thought we would give it a try because its always busy, but idk why its always busy. Temple Diner is better.
