This is our local diner... We've been going there for years. Some of the food items are better than others, here are a few of our favorites:
As far as simple things go, we enjoy a basket of onion rings (always tasty & definitely large enough to share). The fried chicken salad or grilled shrimp salad are decent (though I'll always ask for romaine lettuce since it has more personality than iceberg)...
Sandwiches: the cheeseburger club is a good -- I always ask for it on sourdough bread. All club sandwiches comes with a small bag of chips. Other favorites include the traditional gyro or Monte Cristo. While I am sure that the gyro meat is previously frozen, it is good (I can't imagine a diner selling enough to have a full-fledged vertical rotisserie.) My wife likes the cheese steak wrap with the sauce on the side.
They do offer quite a selection of "Early Bird" specials that come with one less vegetable than the regular menu items, a slightly smaller serving, and your choice of pudding, ice cream or jell-o for dessert. Of those choices, I strongly recommend the tapioca pudding -- they make it there. Of the Early Birds, the chicken croquettes still come with two actual croquettes, so you end up having some to take home...
Breakfast is pretty much your standard diner fair. The omelettes served over breakfast hours include homefries or hash browns -- you will pay extra for that outside of normal breakfast hours. I've had their blintzes; they're good, but the fruit topping is certainly out of a can.
