5th Tavern Clarkston

Fortunately we had reservations because the restaurant was packed and there was a waiting line. We finally got to our seats and our server Ashley was very good! We ordered our drinks and they arrived quickly and there was a basket of bread and butter brought to the table. We gave our order and before you knew it, our meals were on the table. We ordered a Maurice Salad and a Lobster Grilled Cheese with Roasted Tomato Bisque dipping sauce which was quite tasty. Our server came around asking if everything was ok and offered more water and asked if dessert was in our future. Had to say no because we were pretty full. The only issue was it was very loud and I'm sure it was due to the packed crowd. We will definitely come back at a different time when hopefully it will be not so busy or loud. Bon appetit

I haven’t personally dined in at Fifth Tavern yet, but my mom brought me home a slice of carrot cake after celebrating her birthday there, and I wanted to share a quick note on that alone. The carrot cake was very sweet — almost beyond sweet — but still really yummy and enjoyable. I wouldn’t say it’s the best carrot cake I’ve ever had, but it was definitely delicious and satisfying. What really stood out was the portion size: I had about half of what was served to her and her boyfriend, and it was more than enough. Generous portions for sure. Based on the dessert alone, I can say they don’t skimp, and I’d be open to trying the restaurant myself in the future.

Food is amazing I left a review but wasn't able to post pics here they are...BBQ chicken Flat bread- yummy..Pesto chicken Flatbreat- amazing! Cuban ..could use more ham, but still tasty ..and the Lobster grilled cheese the best yet!

The sword fish and walleye was great and our waitress, Alexis was awesome! They definitely have the best carrot cake too! Chicken with veggie appetizer was yummy as well. Highly recommend!

The Taco Tuesday Menu is lousy, quality of chicken was very chewy and tough, the tortilla on the bottom of my tostada was like shoe leather tough. the tortillas for the fajitas were also very tough and the quality of the chicken and taste was overall Bland and boring. If you want any Mexican don't waste your time here.

We met some friends to watch the band that someone was a big fan of. We came from Linden so it was about a 40 min. drive. The service, food and live band was all fantastic! I had the sord fish with mango salsa and it was honestly one of the best meals I have had in the area! My husband had ribeye steak and was very happy with it as well and a friend had the BBQ chicken salad and it looked amazing! We will be back!

I’ve had a few recent negative experiences here that have led me to take my business elsewhere. On one visit, I ordered the whitefish and it tasted extremely “fishy” — to the point that I didn’t feel comfortable eating it. It may not have been spoiled, but it definitely did not seem fresh, and I ended up not eating my meal. A few weeks later, we returned and I ordered the Thai Chicken Salad. My entire family was served their meals, but I was told my chicken had been burned and that a new one would be made. I then sat for 26 minutes while my family ate. When my meal finally arrived, there was no apology or acknowledgment of the delay. I politely explained that everyone at my table had already finished eating and asked if I was still expected to pay for the meal. No discount or reimbursement was offered. In addition, our server was barely present. We were essentially checked on only when we first arrived, and then again when it was time for the check. Much of our food was delivered by other staff members, so it didn’t feel like we had consistent service. Because of that, our needs weren’t met — for example, my child’s butter noodles needed Parmesan, and I was never offered a second drink or refills. At one point, I actually asked another employee (not our server) for Parmesan and a second drink. They acknowledged me — but never returned with either item. This was genuinely one of the most frustrating dining experiences I’ve had in a very long time. I almost called the next day to speak with a manager, but I didn’t want to come across as overreacting.

First time trying this place out, and it was pretty good. I like the atmosphere and the wait staff all helped out one another. I would suggest asking the servers what they recommend to eat if you don’t already have an idea. The meal servings are pretty big so you can definitely share. Half off wine Wednesday you can’t beat that. Carlos was our server it was his 3rd day on the floor and he is doing a great job, we was in a room with 3 big parties so remember socialize be kind and be patient next time I’m in Detroit I will comeback.

We started out with an appetizer of spinach and artichoke dip with crab added. It was an unexpected pleasant taste. I recommend for a good appetizer if you like spinach and artichoke dip and seafood. It was a subtle hint of crab. We then proceeded onto dinner. I ordered the mushroom Swiss burger with onion rings my date, Ordered the Cubano sandwich. In my days, I have had many and many and many mushroom Swiss burgers with onion rings this one was very delightful and pleasant because it brought me back to a day when I realize why I like it so much. The burger was perfect. There's nothing else that I could ask for the onion rings. I don't like the breading on them as much but that's personal preference. Everything was overall very great even the service. Shout out lexi, the bartender somebody give her a raise.

The food was good and great portions. Came in after dinner rush so it wasn't crowded and the patio area is nice. Was kinda late to be greeted by the server and we didn't get bread for a half an hour of being at our table. Just letting us know that they're making it would be nice. The server was always kind though. Would come again and probably have a better experience timewise.

Called business to see if they served breakfast/lunch on Sunday (12/21/25). Was told they were open and he said there was no waiting. Got there at 11:15 AM and the only seating that was available was the bar area that no one was at and there was no heat (it was 20 degrees out). We were not about to eat brunch with our winter coats on. Quite disappointed to be misled.

We bought a house in Clarkston in April and have been here about five times now. I can't think of anything we have not liked but there have been a few clear highlights: - on Cinco De Mayo, I ordered fish tacos. LOVED them! And I found out that you can order them any time even though they are not on the regular menu as they are on gluten free menu (why, I don't know, cuz it's grilled fish on a tortilla). - California burrito has been ordered by my husband' a few times now - burgers have been really good!!

We usually dine at 5th Tavern on Wednesday as bottles of wine are half price. I usually get the salmon and it is very good. There is a wide selection and we have all enjoyed the variety and quality. Hearing is an issue when they are busy. There is an exceptional patio during nice days. Our service has been good.

I don't understand how this place only has a 3.5 star in Clarkston. Happy Hour, Monday and Tuesday specials are amazing. Ingredients are fresh and meat quality is great. Outside patio is cool spot.

I've been here a couple times now and both experiences have been just okay. Service is always just alright. It's a nice big place with lots of seating so that's a bonus. For my first meal I tried the crab, spinach and artichoke dip. That was a little bland and not enough seafood flavor but it was okay. The roasted asparagus and tomato bisque was a little salty and had a weird texture but not bad. My burger and fries were the highlight. The second time I went I tried a steak dish and I was underwhelmed. The meat was a bit tough and had a strange aftertaste. My potatoes were also bland. I also feel the place is overpriced for certain parts of the menu. Some dinners come with soup or salad but the steaks don't even though they're more expensive. Overall I'd call this place hit or miss depending on what you order

Great happy hour. Many options. Recommend the quesadilla, chicken satay (with generous amount of veggies & great peanut sauce) & spinach/artichoke dip. Decent house wines.

We came at a super busy time during home coming. But even then the service was still good. Has a nice outdoor seating area for when the weather is nice. Omg, the pina coloda chicken, absolutely delicious. It smelled good outside of the restaurant and I'm wondering if that was what I was smelling lol. The dish must have been new because the waiter/manager asked how it was. She said it was her favorite dish too lol. I had never thought to put rice and coconut together, but I would have that again 100%

My husband ordered the zip burger and chips and was served a burger and fries-no zip sauce. It was near the end of his meal that he realized something was missing from the burger and was able to ask the server if he'd received the right plate. He was then brought the zip sauce for his last two bites. My entree, the California Burrito, was great however, I should have been offered choice of soup or side salad which I never was. Kind of a bummer.

Drinks were good and the Philly cheese steak sandwich on the lunch menu was delicious. I like this place especially in the summer when you can sit outside on the patio. They have a special Monday menu where several items are only $10. Service is normally great here; sometimes when it's busy you just need to have patience.

Great holiday ambience, beautiful Christmas tree and fireplace lit, with Christmas music in the background. Friendly service, very attentive. We had the chili because it was cold outside and it was one of the better chilies that I've ever had at a restaurant. I had a Cuban sandwich with onion rings and my brother-in-law had the Philly steak sandwich with french fries and both were very good! My sister had a half a Cuban sandwich with the enchilada soup. Also have the five dollar margarita special for this day. Since it was taco Tuesday so they had Mexican specialties on a special menu. We love coming here often for their happy hour, which starts at 3 PM weekdays.

The food and service was excellent. The prices were very reasonable from the first cocktail to the last cup of coffee . If I lived near there, we would go for dinner at least once a week. I had the strip sirloin and it was excellent. The pour on my Johnny Walker Black Label was great. And the price at $12. Was very reasonable. I rarely give a restaurant 5 star rating, but this restaurant definitely deserves one. JR

The nachos. The happy hour. The service. Their steaks and seafood are good. I particularly like the bone in ribeye. I can't say enough good things about this place. There are two locations but the clarkston one is my preference. Lisandro has been a consistently good bartender and server. Friendly and attentive and an overall great person to handle our order and evening. Next date night, or girls night, you should definitely check this place out!! Ask for Lisandro, he's the best!!

We attended a dinner for about 35 people. The restaurant was packed upon arrival. We were assigned two servers. Madison and Brooke did a great job. A manager also helped with any requests. She was so nice about accommodating me. Our group had three entree options. A steak salad (an enormous salad with a generous amount of meat), Shrimp skewers: (Six large shrimp, rice, string beans) or Chicken pasta. Everyone had a house salad and yummy bread. I ordered a margherita pizza. It wasn't what I expected. I asked if I could just have the vegetables from one of the entrees and a baked potato. The manager said, "instead of making due why not get something you a tually want?" So, I had the linguini and tomato soup. The pasta was yummy. The soup was creamy and delicious. Dessert was carrott cake or cheesecake. The carrot cake was rich and yummy. My family enjoyed the cheesecake too. There is extra parking around the back of the restaurant. The patio was full, in spite of the hot weather.

We went on Saturday for the brunch buffet! Large amount of selections. Full breakfast bar with omelette station. Several lunch items to choose from including Salmon, chicken tenders, chicken wings, chicken medley, Mac and cheese, ribs, roast beef carving station. Pasta and vegetables, mashed potatoes. Roasted vegetables and egg rolls. Small salad bar and fruit. chips and salsa! Nice desert table! Enjoyed most everything, though the ribs were overcooked!! Service was good as was the ambiance!!

Food is always prepared well. Carry it window makes it very convenient. Place is always packed. Hard to get a spot at the bar sometimes.

First time eating at this restaurants and it's a Friday night , the waitress is slow and everything seems to bother her and not something she wants to do. The 1/2 slab of ribs are over cooked and dried out , the sauce couldn't even help. The cedar planked salmon needs serious help, more than just throwing a handful of peppers on it. The bread , when the waitress finally brought it out was stale and hard. The dining room is noisy and dated from somewhere in the nineties, our table was warped and leaning with paper towels trying to keep it balanced and even. I should have not even bothered to go in after seeing the shoddy condition of the entry doors. All I can say is save you money and eat somewhere else , who wants to over pay for bad food, terrible service and for lack of better words a dump that hasn't been remodeled since it was Mesquite Creek 20 years ago.

Don't order Ribs terrible. Sent them back. Don't order Pina Colada Chicken took one bite Help was nice food was the worst I have ever had period. Very disappointing.

We had a server named Jeremy that gave us awful service. We even saw him picking food off of peoples plates when he thought we couldn't see. We won't be coming back to this place.

This is a pretty decent place to go. I tried their nachos, their crab and spinach dip, and satay chicken and vegetables. The nacho was really good and it never got soggy towards the bottom, which is not easy to find. It stayed crispy all the way through. Perhaps a tiny bit over baked but all in all good. The crab and spinach and artichoke dip was delicious and so was the chicken satay. The real star, however, was the amazing vegetables of the chicken satay came with. They were fantastic. The restaurant was clean. Sat in the bar and it's got a great sports bar feel to it Without being the kind of place you would think is loud and obnoxious. The server was fantastic Food and drinks came quickly and he was very very nice. And the blueberry mule is delicious.

Nice place just as you come into downtown Clarkston. One of the few places open in downtown Clarkston that you could get lunch or brunch during a weekday with a full bar and an extensive menu. A girlfriend and I were looking for a brunch type place to enjoy bloody Mary's and a good lunch after a night out and before heading home. Place is empty when we arrived and opted to sit in the bar for more of a social feeling instead of quiet in the corner of the dining room. Service was excellent very attentive. We ordered an assortment of appetizers and had a lovely visit. We'd definitely visit next in the area. The weekly specials are great and I wish they were better advertised.

We ordered the (2) prime rib specials; we were served our soup, 30 minutes later we were informed that the prime rib was no longer available. While we understood the situation, it was frustrating to wait that long only to have to change our order. We then decided to share a 14-ounce Delmonico steak and requested that it be cut in half since we preferred different levels of doneness. The kitchen accommodated this request, but when the steaks arrived, it was clear they were not from the same cut. This was not a major issue; however, both steaks were so tough they were nearly inedible, we both ate less than half of what was served to us before we gave up. When we brought this to the attention of the manager, she was dismissive/abrupt and told us we would not be charged for the meal. While that might have seemed like a fair resolution, when we received our tab, we saw that they decided to charge us à la cart baked potato, broccoli, and soup, making our final bill only $4 less than the original meal price.... More than willing to pay for the extra soup that we ordered, by the way, when we originally ordered soups, it was to be included the two complete meals of prime rib that we originally ordered. Additionally, the quality of the sides was unacceptable. The baked potato was so overcooked it was nearly inedible, and the broccoli was so undercooked that it was difficult to cut. My tomato basil soup would've been better as a spaghetti sauce. Flavor was fine, but it was so thick. It was more like a sauce. Throughout our interaction, the manager was rude, unprofessional, and overwhelmed us with complaints about her kitchen issues instead of addressing our concerns. I told her several times to just go away and give me the bill I would pay for the entire thing.... She turned her back on me and continued to complain to my girlfriend about her problems. I'm a Clarkson local. I've gone to this restaurant through three different name changes. Never have encountered such a crazy episode. If upper management is pressuring this GM for some reason to put her in the state, maybe you should reevaluate your approach to management and the way you treat customers.

Excellent food and service. The server was efficient and knowledgeable. Reservation was seamless even though we showed up early. We would definitely go back. Pros: - Service - Food quality - Portion sizes - Drinks Cons: - They brought out the dish with the wrong sauce at first, but replaced it quickly. Unfortunately, that meant that my partner just had to sit and wait while I ate.

Great service, great food, and a menu with nice variety. I highly recommend getting the Brussel sprouts as an appetizer, just don't forget to add the bacon!

Great location, parking is plentiful and the ambiance is great. There was a storm brewing and due to how busy they were I think they could have utilized their umbrellas and patio space more effectively. The service was great and the food was delicious I would certainly go back. This is a gem!

We frequent this spot often and are never disappointed! Orlando is our favorite bartender by far. He remembers us every time and is always so fun to talk to and so friendly and attentive. The filet is my favorite, but I also love the rattlesnake pasta and the lemon artichoke chicken. The vibe is always comfortable and welcoming. I never leave without an espresso martini for dessert and also love their other cocktail specials and wine list.

Food 5/5. My wife and I had pina colada chicken and it was great. Mixed drinks were terrible. More mix than alcohol (gin and tonic and mango habanero margarita). 0/5 on those. Old fashioned 4/5.

The food was great but our server Annie was even better. Annie was just the sweetest little lady. Made sure I always had my drink full while having multiple other larger tables. Amazing job!!

If I could give this place 6 stars I would! Tonight was our first time coming here and it was a Friday night. We had a reservation and they were packed! Our server was very nice and made sure we got our drinks and food in a timely manner. We both got the Ahi Tuna Sashimi and it was very flavorful. The only thing I wished was that we had more of the Asian slaw and less rice, but that's just my preference. The restaurant is very nice and has a ton of options on their menu. We can't wait to come back

Went for the first time to attend a group dinner for 50+. Food was served buffet style (salad, green beans, pasta and chicken and roast beef). Nothing great but all was good and enjoyable. The wait staff was a bit overloaded, but labor is a problem for most restaurants nowadays.

Stopped and got a carryout order of chicken salad club sandwich with homemade potato chips. Very clean and well staffed restaurant. This beautiful restaurant is in downtown Clarkston and has a interesting brunch menu that looks very tempting. The sprawling brunch buffet at is every Saturday 10am-2pm and Sunday 10am-3pm. Definitely will be back to try more of the menu. This is a popular restaurant that the locals like. They also offer your favorite cut of juicy steak or seafood table side on a hot volcanic rock. Nothing quite like hot ROK cooking.

Made reservations for Friday dinner. Seated and served promptly. Great service. We tried the braised lamb shank, field berry salad, chicken cobb salad and seafood linguine. Everyone was pleased with their food. We will go again.

I do love this restaurant and enjoy the ambiance of it. The selection of food is good and I haven't really had anything there I didn't like. Last time I was there, I requested a little more lettuce in my salad because it was like 2 bites worth. A manager came over and took care of it right away. The salad I got in return was way above what I had asked for and I was totally surprised. It's nice when a restaurant knows how to take care of their patrons! We will always return. Thank you

I ordered the grilled Kale salad and it was incredible! The salad was fresh and the ingredients were original.

Our party of 6 received fast service and enjoyed the atmosphere! The salads were delicious and everyone was pleased with their food. I would definitely go back.

never ever go to this restaurant!!!! waited half an hour and was blowed off!!! go to bullfrogs they have better service and food!!! never will come back again!!!

Stopped in here for lunch during the week since we were in the area. Cute little place with nice patio seating. My husband and I both ordered drinks and the spinach & artichoke dip as an app. We got it without the crab but I bet it's delicious with it added in. The drinks were meh...I ordered a blood orange margarita and I think someone forgot to put the blood orange flavor in it because it tasted like pure tequila. On to our entrees.... I ordered the rattlesnake pasta with chicken and my husband got the zip burger. I thought the pasta was so delicious! He thought his burger was pretty standard for a bar burger. Overall our experience was good, our server was incredible and checked in on us multiple times to make sure everything was good. We would definitely visit again to try other things on the menu!

This restaurant offered the worst brunch for Father's Day. It was an insult to the children who wanted to celebrate their Dads and also the fathers. Here are some examples. The supposed eggs benedict were prefab with the soft boiled egg resembling a pale yellow marshmallow of the same consistency and less flavor than the marshmallow. Beneath the marshmallow was a paper thin, 50 cent piece sized something that was supposed to be meat. Not a chance. Then the 1/2 English muffin. You couldn't even cut through it with a knife. Now the cutting station. The one employee had to take care of slicing the "meat" and making omelets. He had an electric knife which wouldn't cut through the meat so he was trying to use it as a saw. I have never seen such miserable looking slabs of meat which were no where near edible. Now the scrambled eggs. They were gray. Need I say more? I could see the embarrassment on my daughter's face due to the garbage being served. How can the management of this establishment even think they're positively serving the public?

Great ambiance and service. Nice food selection. The lemon artichoke chicken was flavorful and moist. The Maurice salad was pretty and a bit deconstructed. That made it eat differently than traditional Eat outside of the weather cooperates

Had a delicious dinner here recently with great service! The lobster grilled cheese with tomato asparagus bisque was *chef's kiss*, my side of chef's vegetables were cooked and seasoned just right, and the wine options were plentiful. Looking forward to returning soon!

Do not GrubHub this restaurant, not worth your money or time. Fries soggy, missing soup, literally 1/4 container of coleslaw and dried out ribs for $60. We are strictly home cooking at this point.

Great Monday specials with burgers, salads and sandwiches for $10 with a drink purchase. Server was quick and friendly.

We had been here before several times and it was great. This last time (before Xmas) the food was average and the wait long even though they were not busy. Easy access and parking. I'll go back just to give them another chance.

Disappointed in service today. Appetizer, salad and entree all delivered at the same time! No apology. Food was good, just disappointed in the service.

I've been there a few times and have had carry out several times. The French Dip, and French onion soup are great. They have a very nice brunch. Their bread pudding is divine. Good portions. Nice restaurant, very large. Lots of outside seating. This last delivery was a disappointment.The Rattlesnake pasta had no Cajun spice and the lemon artichoke chicken had no lemon flavor or capers. I ended up cutting up a lemon I had at home to flavor it.

Very disappointed. I ordered a bone in ribeye, mid rare. The 1st couple of bites were good but after that it was terrible. Way over cooked, closer to mid well than mid rare, full of fat and gristle. By this point, the rest of our group was done eating so sending it back was not an option. Spoke with the server and the manager, was told that they would remove 50% of the price of the steak. When the check came they had credited me $7.50 on a meal that cost $38.00. Now I understand why the place was less than half full on a Friday night.

Such good food! Mango swordfish is to die for! Will definetly be returning when back in the area
