Yelp
Hold the phone. I saw Kouign Amann in the pastry window and had to have it. It was super flaky and soft on the inside... it was crunchy sweet thin shell on the outside. It was devine. What I love about this place was that we needed the cheese to be removed from Breakfast sandwich with mushroom & egg on croissant, and they were so accommodating, calling the order to the back to be made a different way so that my husband, who cannot have dairy could have this breakfast sandwich. Thank you for that! You have no idea! I also got Chai latte with almond milk, it was pretty mild as far as chai lattes go and we also took a Health nut scone for the road. This location is really cute, it's super bright with a lot of windows and you can get a seat looking into the drive thru. Cool murals in there. We will definitely be back for the breakfast sandwiches and the pastries!

Yelp
Jesus was phenomenal. Having allergies kick in early in the morning does not help process thoughts. Ordered in drive thru and forgot to ask to warm up health nut scone. Well he made me feel comfortable and not rushed. Morning bun latte is always comforting and makes me feel so happy. Drive thru line moves smooth even with people asking at window to warm up scone. (Me, sorry) Great staff, great location, smooth transactions!

Yelp
Stopped by here after a fitness class nearby. Convenient on the go service if u have a busy day ahead. Indoor/outdoor seating available. Free wifi if doing work. Ample Parking in front. Opted for the Egg, Bacon, Cheese croissant - 8/10. Pretty good for on the go. Prices were fair considering the area. Otherwise, recommend for others to stop by if you're hungry and in a pinch!

Yelp
I liked the sourdough bread and macarons. The vanilla scone was ok. Their drinks are pretty good. I don't know about other locations, but after 5 pm baked goods are 50% off! The person at the register was very polite and knowledgeable. It is a pretty good size place with enough parking and seating. There is also the convenience of drive thru.

Yelp
great quick coffee and pastry fix! loveeee the frozen bond, especially on a hot houston day! Good strong coffee flavor and sweet as well. The infamous Pistachio Croissant is always a hit. HINT - ask for it to be heated/toasted. Warmed pastries are the best! Great & quick service. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. And even a drive thru! Some parking in the front of the building as well.

Yelp
I went to common bond with a friend for an afternoon coffee date and was disappointed to learn that they only use to-go serveware (no mugs or plates). Once we learned about how the drinks would be served (in paper cups), we cancelled our cappuccino orders and decided to just take the desserts to-go. Neither of us like to-go cups for cappuccinos as we think it alters the taste. I was a bit surprised at how difficult it was for the staff to remove the cappuccinos from our order... neither person could do it and they had to call for the manager (who was able to do it very quickly). For the desserts, we ordered the Lemon Gateau and the Lavender Honey Cheesecake. Each dessert was not only beautiful in the presentation / decoration but they also tasted incredible. I preferred the rich cheesecake while my friend preferred the lemon tart. I would revisit Common Bond again for the deserts but wouldn't order other items until you can enjoy it there on actual plates / mugs.

Yelp
Staff is usually nice enough, but this isn't the first time my order hasn't been right. I went today and got the turkey club, asked for it on the French bread instead of croissant. Get home, not a single piece of "applewood smoked bacon" so I basically paid 10$ for a turkey and cheese sandwich. No thanks. Last time I'll go here.

Yelp
Amazing service and wonderful pastries! I love this location. Everything so good, a delicious stop. Definitely should try.

Yelp
I love this place, although I wish there were more breakfast options. I ordered egg bites here the other day, and I did feel slightly ripped off - they were tiny and not great. I do love to splurge on a frozen bond especially in this heat! A bit pricy but overall pretty darn good.

Yelp
Great coffee. Very nice and friendly staff! Pleasant vibe. Extra points for the drive thru option.

Yelp
I actually really like this location -- it's convenient to pop in and out (or drive thru). The menu items are just as good as every other location. My go-to is their vanilla latte!

Yelp
I'm so glad more independent coffee shops are gearing towards drive thru. I need more options than Starbucks and their ridiculously long lines! I love that this Common Bond is less than 5 minutes from my house, and that it's along the way to work.Typically I'll grab coffee on the go or a few pastries to share with fellow colleagues. Their location is much smaller than the others, which makes it more discrete. I have noticed lately that the drive thru is getting a bit busier lately. Although it is smaller, their menu is still extensive. I'll either get the frozen bond (espresso, whole milk, sugar - already pre blended), or a hot Nutella latte. Nutella is not a syrup on their menu, but it is an option. You'd usually see it at their other locations. Overall, Common Bond on-the-go Heights location, is my preferred, quick go-to for coffee on the road.

Yelp
I've usually had great experiences at this location, but the last interaction I had left a bad taste in my mouth. Not only was my order wrong but when I came to get it remade a day after. The cashier wasn't warm and friendly. Especially after you all messing up my order. It was almost as if I was the one in the wrong to ask for a re-order. Please train staff to be friendlier. It's not like there aren't other coffee shops around that also makes coffee and food.

Yelp
I recently moved to the area and have already gone here a handful of times - it's just really good! This is the smaller On-the-go location, although they do have a small seating area. I've been walking over so I haven't tried dining inside. The baristas are friendly, patient, answer all my questions about the pastries and coffee flavors, and then make excellent coffee! I tried the Nutella Latte and the Lavender; loved them both. And the pastries... OMG. I've tried the kugelhopf (get the Boston cream!) and Nutella croissant. Man they were good! This has become a gem in the Heights and a great coffee stop.

Yelp
I ordered the ham and cheese sandwich on "French bread " expecting to get it on the baguette like at the Montrose location. The bread was a stale roll. HEB has better rolls (bolillos) than what I received at Common Bond. I ended up throwing away the bread and just eating the ham. Very disappointing.

Clay B.

Yelp
Not very good. I had a chicken salad sandwich and it's pretty much not good. They don't even have a tuna salad sandwich. Cool idea bad food what can you do
google avatar

Daysi L.

Yelp
a lot of parking which is nice, and it's hidden behind a ramen place but it is honestly not as good as the main locations. Cookies were not that great and the classic chocolate chip was thick and bread like. The butternut squash soup was very bland but after adding salt it was pretty good. I'd definitely recommend just going to the bigger locations because they didn't have many pastries or nearly as much variety. My favorite pastry is their fruit tart but they were sold out here.
google avatar

Yelp
I got the wild mushroom frittata croissant with tomato pesto. I didn't specify for dine-in or to-go so I believe what I got is the usual option. The arugula with the wild mushroom frittata against the tomato pesto and croissant tasted fine. The croissant and arugula were wet and flat when I sat down at the counter. I guess it's wrapped and sitting under a heat lamp as it was wrapped in parchment and foil and was lukewarm. Since the pastries sit prettily under the case unboxed, I thought the sandwiches would be prepared when you place your order in.

Yelp
I have heard of Common Bond from online reviews but never got the chance to visit myself as I live in Katy. When I passed by this location on my way home, I knew this is the opportunity, so I immediately took a turn into the parking lot. I only had a few options to choose from since it was already 5 PM. The staff was nice and helpful. I ended up getting the butter croissant and the vanilla scone, both recommended by the cashier. The butter croissant was flaky and buttery - exactly how it should be. My family and I thought the vanilla scone was amazing. The sweetness was just perfect - it satisfies your sweet tooth but doesn't leave you feeling sick afterward. Overall, my experience was great. I'm definitely going to visit again so I could try more pastries from Common Bond.

Yelp
Let me start by saying that the pastries are really top tier. That is the only good thing I can say about this place. I have never seen a restaurant that screws up orders this consistently. I've been three times in the last two weeks. The first time I actually went in with my parents. My dad ordered a chocolate croissant and a latte to split with my mom and I ordered a decaf Americano and an almond croissant. We sit down and the coffee shows up five minutes later, and we ask the girl where the pastries are. They sold the last ones to the people in the drive-through having completely forgotten about us. The second time I drove through and ordered a bacon, egg, and cheese croissant, and got home to find a croissant with just an egg. The third time, I drive through, I ordered a decaf americano and the same croissant as last time. They gave me the sandwich, and this time I check it at the window and it's wrong again, then they hand me the americano, and I ask if it was decaf. "Oh." Then they remake the Americano again and it's still wrong. Some of their items are really good, but the whole idea here is supposed to be convenience. But between the sheer incompetence, and frankly, carelessness of the staff and the fact that you're going to spend 20 minutes in the drive through undo the entire point of this place being "on the go." I strongly recommend going to one of the sit-down locations instead.

Yelp
Was in the area and decided to checkout this location. Love that there is a drive-thru and a patio area. Service was friendly and pretty fast. We ordered an almond croissant (good size and the inside was fluffy with a tasty filling), morning bun (the flavor was good but I was a little disappointed in size, oh well I know next time.) and a loaf of sourdough bread (we asked them to cut it. I guess they don't ask what size cut we want or maybe they only cut one size. It was a little too thin, also I know for next time.).

Yelp
This shop is right next to my office so I am a frequent drive-thru customer. There is limited indoor seating and an bigger outdoor area, but I personally would not like to sit out there. This is not a coffee shop I would go to if I was looking to read or be on my laptop. There is limited parking and the drive-thru wraps around the porch so you would be surrounded by a line of cars if you sit out there-- the drive-thru is the way to go. My favorite thing to order is the frozen bond, which is a sweet frozen espresso drink, their macarons and pastries are amazing, and I also really enjoy their bacon, egg, and cheese croissant. Make sure you have a card on you, they do not accept cash! Overall, this is a great local drive-thru coffee shop.

Yelp
The drive through line was super long and I noticed it was empty inside so I decided to go in. I got the egg and cheese sandwich but they were out of croissants so they made it with Cemita bread. It was huge, but since it was prepackaged and sitting in a warmer (nothing seems to be made onsite) the egg was was like an overcooked casserole. I decided to take a bite anyway. The flavor was there, but I couldn't get past the texture. The cookies however, were perfect. I'll stick with the Common Bond restaurants if I want food, and stop here when I want pastries or cookies. Oh, and when I left, I noticed that had I stayed in the drive through line, I would have only been two cars closer, so just go inside. The place is clean and the service is excellent.

Yelp
This is my favorite coffee snack place in Garden Oaks. Eden was a fabulous host. Pastries galore and an accommodating and super friendly staff here to help at every turn. There is space to work and the music is ahhhmazing.

Christine C.

Yelp
I love how I can just go through the drive through here and get a few things and go. My favorite thing hands down that they have is their birthday macaroons. They are just so expensive it kills me. $3.00 for one macaroon. I know that it take a lot of time and work to make them but I think $3.00 is a little steep. They are on the smaller size for macarons. They are smaller than a regular size Oreo. I also like the pistachio croissant and the butter croissant. The only I've Had that I don't like is the chicken salad sandwich.
google avatar

Janie C.

Yelp
Eh spoke too soon about this location. Their frozen machine is ALWAYS down and the person at the drive thru window had a crappy attitude. We won't be back.
google avatar

Paige S.

Yelp
I've visited this location several times now since they recently opened. Every single time, the customer service has been exceptional. Every location has kind and prompt employees, but these guys are next level! I've ordered their desserts and all of them have been on par with other locations in terms of flavor, texture and quality! The coffees have been delicious and expertly crafted. This place is way too close and way too quick! My wallet is in trouble.
google avatar

Annie G.

Yelp
Frozen bond machine has been broken for way too long. They will keep telling you tomorrow tomorrow tomorrow it will be fixed but tomorrow never comes. I call to see if it's fixed and I get hung up on. Also they are always out of everything in the afternoon- lunch wise.
google avatar

Bryan S.

Yelp
Food is always fast and good and the best part is the service. The upper middle aged woman that typically works during lunch time is always polite and cheerful. Cheers to her.
google avatar

Kate M.

Yelp
Pretty unimpressed with the service & sandwiches. Both times I've gone, items were missed. The turkey clubs we got today had rotten brown avocado that tasted terribly. We had to go back to return them. They also forgot to include the cookies we paid for. They gave a refund but did not offer to fix the situation in any way. Last time I had the ham sandwich, it was ok but not worth $9. Also, the phone number listed online does not work. The cookies & pastries are good.
google avatar

Stefanie P.

Yelp
Soooo good and great service! I love all their pastries but the morning bun is the BEST!
google avatar

Leslie R.

Yelp
I love all the common bond locations, but I usually always swing by the heights on the go location! This location is very convenient wether your on a walk or just making your way towards the freeway. Staff is very friendly and food and drinks are delicious!

Jennifer B.

Yelp
Every time I call to make an order to go I get an answering machine. Over 20 calls and no pickup. Additionally, the American flag flying out front is ragged and hanging in a very improper way. If you don't like America... move your business somewhere else. Very unresponsive. This is another Heights business doomed for failure.
google avatar

Yelp
Great place to meet up with friends for a meal or to enjoy some time alone. (This is for the 19th street location.) Delicious food and pastries! Excellent parking. Well-designed, attractive interior. Situated along the Heights hike and bike trail. Overall fantastic addition to 19th street.

Yelp
Oh. My. God. This place amazing!! Currently open from 7am to 3pm (covid times) the employees are so nice and so patient. Laura was so wonderful to describe every little item that I didn't recognize. It's easy to get to and they also have a drive through. Tons of food options small and large. They have an outdoor patio with a large ice water dog bowl for your dog. And did I mention they have ALCOHOL?! I'll be back for brunch
google avatar

Shourjo D.

Yelp
This is super convenient and fast. Service never takes long. The order intake experience can vary just a tad based on who is on-shift that day, but even when it feels a bit more clumsy it's never a deterrent from going back. The pastries are very good, and I especially like the kouigimman (sp?), the health and nut scone, and the chocolate croissant (which has more of that good chocolate inside than anywhere else I can think of). The chocolate chip cookies here are wonderfully indulgent. I have become a big fan of the cortado here, over the drip coffee or the espresso drinks. Fwiw, my wife and I both get the impression that the espresso here is stronger than in other places, and on certain days can kick your butt if you're not careful.

Yelp
. The service is straight up the worst. So it kinda makes the food taste bad. This is the second time that I've had the worst service. I am all about supporting local businesses. The other common bond locations service are decent. This to go one is just bad. They should close. Cause everyone that works there is miserable

Marieke L.

Yelp
Let me start by saying that I'm obsessed with the original Common Bond location. I've been there a countless number of times and have never been even "just satisfied"; I'm always blown away by the high quality of baked goods they offer. So I was equally excited to see the new to-go concept open up in the Heights, especially given the menu of lighter breakfast options compared to what the other locations offer. I went today for the first time and am sad to say it was disappointing. I got a butter croissant that was fine, but not up to the high quality I've come to expect from Common Bond (they've spoiled me!). The crust was soft with no crisp (maybe a little stale?), instead of the wonderful crunchy flake on the outside that contrasts so nicely with the soft, buttery inside the Westheimer croissants have. I also got the fresh fruit with mint syrup...but there was no mint syrup. No mint either. It was just mixed fruit. Not bad, but nothing special, and until today, the Common Bond brand has always meant very special, delicious food in my experience. I really hope these are just flukes as they're getting the new location up and running. And I really, really hope that the owners don't lose sight of quality as they try to expand their brand across the state!
google avatar

Lauren T.

Yelp
Come here almost every day. Love the coffee and pastries, and super sweet that they always give my dog treats
google avatar

Paige P.

Yelp
My favorite Common Bond location! It's so wonderful to have such strong delicious coffee and such amazing baked goods around the corner. With COVID still going on, it's so nice to be able to drive thru and feel safe. The staff is so friendly and taking safety precautions very seriously. DON'T skip the fresh baked cookies with your drink- they're incredible. Nitro cold brew and americano are my fave drinks- always strong and delicious!
google avatar

Kate F.

Yelp
I ordered a bacon/egg/cheese sandwich on a bun, got a baconless croissant that looked like someone sat on it! It was comically flat. Weird because the ticket had the right order - guess it was just a mix up. Customer service was nice, Coffee is great and plain croissant/cookies we ordered look good.
google avatar

Raheel R.

Yelp
Only ever had the turtle brownie here, which absolutely blew my socks off. Five stars just for the turtle brownie alone, which was one of the best brownies I've ever had. Be prepared to wait a bit if you're going through their drive through. Ps I wasn't wearing any socks...
google avatar

J M.

Yelp
Nice location, but they don't accept cash. Not everyone has or carries credit cards or wants to use them all the time. So while it's at a great location and we would like to go there, we prefer other businesses in the same location who accept cash and are equally good or better.
google avatar

Jacquelyn C.

Yelp
I'm so excited to have them In the neighborhood. Service was quick and high quality. I enjoyed my coffee and croissant and the packaging and cutlery was adorable. I can't believe it's a drive thru, it's so exciting
google avatar

Vanessa B.

Yelp
Coffee is amazing as it is at their other locations, but the food is hit or miss. The egg and bacon croissant was just gross. The egg looked like a big, thick rectangle and the consistency was weird. Pretty sure they are premade and just heated up when ordered. The chicken salad sandwich is huge and good. The grains salad didn't contain hardly any grains, and it was just mediocre, especially compared to the salads at their other locations. The caesar salad was nothing special at all.
google avatar

Oliver B.

Yelp
Ugh! Online orders 5 days in advance did not work for me sadly. I placed my order for several macaroons for a birthday with curbside pickup. The receipt stated to call when you arrive which I did only to be told to drive around the drive-thru. So I patiently followed the new given instructions, and waited behind two vehicles. All this to be told they were out of the few flavors including birthday flavor which defeats the purpose of this pre-order. So I asked for a refund, and they did try to make it right by asking if they could call another location, or fill it with other flavors. Not the best experience since I did place this order in plenty of time to avoid this situation, but they were kind enough to give me a refund along with the few macaroons they did have. The owner's kind gesture was appreciated, and I will certainly return because they were understanding. Thank you, and hope to have a better experience on my next visit.

Yelp
I love this spot! The original on westhimer is great for great for food and cakes and has more... but this little spot has my heart. Everyone is always so nice and they seem to like to be at work which I notice more since I hate my job and my boss is a sexual harassing areshole... anywho, this place gives me a little piece of heaven in my car. My favorites are the almond croissant and the Nutella latte. They also have apple pay so I don't have to fumble with my wallet. Back to the lovely people who work with this lovely food. Thanks for being so nice and smiling every morning I come. I actually drive 4 hours to Houston every week and my personal situation while temporary is so tough I cry. I just want to thank you all for the good vibes. You just got to work but you make my day!
google avatar

Kinan R.

Yelp
I got the granola and berries and the bacon egg and cheese bun. The granola and berries were good, but for some reason they decided to make it literally half the size from the last time. Not clear what happened there. As for the bacon, egg and cheese on a bun, I really couldn't eat it (I'm not being picky, it was just bad). The cheese wasn't even melted. Not sure what it was about it but it wasn't appetizing. Tossed it in the trash. These guys need to get their act together or they won't last very long.

Yelp
Big fan of CB and do think this outpost is a little bit of a victim of other locations' success. On the Go is a very similar experience to the 'express' version of your favorite local restaurant found at the airport. Familiar menu and prices, but you get pre-prepared version that just doesn't taste as fresh or good. Ordered two salads (they were out of croissants at noon), so maybe the food quality is better on hot dishes. Service was very friendly, but they forgot to include dressing. So I had to come back to get it, which was frustrating. Look forward to trying again and updating in 6 mo if they can work the kinks out.
