19 Restaurants in New York That’ll Fulfill Any Bacon Craving | Eater

"This suave steakhouse is the kind of place where politicians, lobbyists, and other Albany suits meet up for power lunches. But, you don’t have to be a fat cat to enjoy the top-quality food, superior service, and sleek décor. You’ll find all the steakhouse classics on the menu — from a seafood tower to 12 steak cuts to choose from — to satisfy your bacon cravings. Start with the “thick cut bacon steak” as an appetizer for a juicy slab of bacon paired with a caramelized onion and honey glaze, charred tomato jam, and scallions. The classic wedge salad is served with tomato, bacon, and onion rings in a play on the BLT, and if you must have potatoes with your steak, opt for the loaded baked potato with bacon, cheddar, sour cream, butter, and scallion." - devorahlevtov

Celebrated my daughter graduating from nursing school here. My family and I really enjoyed the experience! Will have to see if there are any other locations! Love the lighted menus 🤩

This was the best steak I've had in NY. Finally, a steakhouse with a ribeye, a real ribeye and it was great. The service provided by Anthony was awesome. The entire expensive was great. I highly recommend!

The ambience was beautiful. Staff was very attentive and helpful. Food was AMAZING! I got the 12oz wagyu ny strip with black truffle butter and veal demi glaze, with the triple butter mash puree and everything was tender and buttery. The first drink I got (frenchy) was OK, definitely could taste the liquor but the BLACK MAGIC DRINK WAS BEYOND AMAZING. Definitely try the strawberry cheesecake pizza, you will not be disappointed!

677 Prime: Where Excellence Meets Perfection in Albany As someone who is incredibly harsh with food critiques, I don’t hand out praise lightly. But 677 Prime has solidified its place as one of my favorite restaurants ever, and for good reason. Let’s start with the service. Our server was the epitome of professionalism, paying attention to every detail and ensuring that our dining experience was nothing short of perfect. His mannerisms and attentiveness stood out so much that I can confidently say he’s the best server I’ve ever had. Now, onto the food. Every dish was flawlessly executed, with flavors that were perfectly balanced. The steak was cooked to perfection, tender, flavorful, and complemented by excellent pairings and sauces. Everything tasted fresh and seasoned just right, showcasing the kitchen’s attention to detail. But the star of the show? The coconut cake dessert paired with coconut ice cream. I’m not exaggerating when I say it’s the best dessert I’ve ever had. The cake and ice cream combination was perfection, so much so that even if I wanted to nitpick, I couldn’t find a single flaw. It’s one of only two dishes in my life that I’ve ever rated a 10/10, and it deserves every bit of that score. The ambiance added to the experience, providing a pleasant and sophisticated environment for dining. While the total cost for two came to $720, it was worth every penny for the quality, service, and overall experience. If you’re looking for a dining experience that delivers excellence in every aspect, 677 Prime is a must-visit. Join me in tracking down the best bites!

4.25 Stars Overall is was very good, not quite excellent. I would consider it upscale rather than formal fine dining. Biggest issue: high price, even for fine dining/upscale. Most people probably don't want to seem cheap and say it but I will. I actually compared menu's from similar establishments and 677 is 10-20+% more on everything. I say it because on a 4 top table it makes the difference between a $500 tab and a $750 one. I enjoyed the experience but definitely paid above market value for it.

Google
Best Steakhouse in the Capitol District. Service is top shelf. Food is consistently good. Wine selection is superb. Very pricey, but really top shelf. Fois Gras was best we've had in a very long time, anywhere. Hanging Tomahawk steak (carved tableside) was cooked and seasoned perfectly - portion could have fed 3 easily. Creamed Spinach never disappoints, but Cauliflower Steak was dry and oddly seasoned. (When our served inquired about the uneaten cauliflower, we told her our candid opinion and she took it off the bill, which was classy). Coconut Custard Pie and Big Chocolate Cake are both substantial and delicious. Great place for special occasions or if you just want to be treated the way you've longed for since before Covid. 😉

This is a first class restaurant. The food and service are excellent. This is definitely a place where you want to to go to impress someone. I loved the food and it would be hard to find a nicer place in Albany

My wife and I decided to go to 677 prime for our first year anniversary. Upon sitting, there was a hand written anniversary card on the table waiting for us. This was our first time at a more high end restaurant and our waiter Joseph helped to make the night so much more comfortable for us. It was easy to see that he had his hands full, but he still made every attempt he could to stop by our table and check in on us. We ended up ordering enhanced bread service and the 4Oz. hanging tomahawk steak for 2. After the bread service, there was a long wait for the steak as it was cooked to perfection. (Which it was). Joseph brought over a complimentary sample of a pasta dish they had for my wife and I, it too was amazing and unexpected. but helped to make the night amazing. When the steak was brought over, joseph used a torch to blast the black truffle butter onto the steak and potatoes. The presentation was amazing! Joseph went out of his way to help explain dishes, drinks, and make our first year anniversary a memorable one. I highly recommend going here for a wonderful meal. The cost is high. but the food is worth it! My wife and I cant wait to go again!

Yelp
When a restaurant is good enough to pull you back for round two in the same week, you know it's doing something right. Angelo's 677 Prime isn't just another steakhouse--it's an experience, from the moment you open the light-up menu (seriously, how cool is that?) to the final bite of your steak. Let's start with the service: both visits were spot-on. The servers are hilarious but also incredibly professional, striking that perfect balance of fine dining polish with down-to-earth charm. And here's a tip--some of the appetizers get finished table-side with a blowtorch, which not only adds drama but also levels up the flavor and presentation. First visit, I had the filet mignon, which was incredibly tender and juicy--exactly what you hope for in a steakhouse filet. It came with a whole roasted head of garlic, and let me tell you, spreading that creamy, mellow garlic over each bite of steak? Absolutely elite move. Second visit, I went big with the Wagyu NY Strip, and while I didn't get to fully appreciate the marbling as much as I hoped, it was still a top-tier cut. I added the truffle sauce on top, which was rich, aromatic, and very worth it. But the real highlight? A few ounces of the snow-aged A5 Wagyu. That steak literally melts in your mouth--it was juicy, buttery, and hands down one of the most luxurious bites of beef I've ever had. To round it out, we split the lobster mac and cheese, which brought the perfect amount of indulgence--creamy, cheesy, and loaded with actual chunks of lobster (not just the flavor). Whether you're a steak purist or just looking for a special night out, Angelo's 677 Prime delivers on all fronts--exceptional food, fun touches, and flawless service. This place is absolutely worth the splurge.

Yelp
Took my wife here for our 3 year anniversary and i have to say it. It's the best dinning experience i have had ever in United States. The food was off the charts and the service was beyond belief. I don't like giving reviews but this time i have to say. 677 Prime is a real life experience that you must try.

Yelp
Made day-of reservations here and the food was pretty good, though service was definitely lacking for the level of elegance the restaurant brands themselves as having. We got started off with a caesar salad and then for mains got the filet mignon with a side of brussel sprouts and lobster mac and cheese. Food was solid and priced well. Issue is around service. When we first got there the hostess just stared at us and was almost confused what we were doing there - no welcome or even asking us if we had a reservation. This then led to the waiter not being attentive, never bringing the glasses of wine we ordered and then even still trying to put it on the bill. Overall, I wouldn't come back due to poor service etiquette.

Yelp
From the appetizers through to dessert, and everything in between, the experience earned 5 stars. Waiter Mark was committed to making sure that our party was happy with everything. All questions about the meals, the ingredients and pairings were answered. Food was excellent. The service was excellent. The valet was attentive. The restrooms were well attended to. The live music was fun and appropriate to the ambience. The prices were reasonable. Menu selections, wine selections all met our expectations.

Yelp
DISAPPOINTING! A few years ago I went to a wedding here at 677 and it was terrific. I was really looking forward to celebrating our wedding anniversary here. The menu is pretty expensive but I knew that going in. And, we had a generous gift card, which made cost a virtual non-factor. But, the value here seemed very low to me. We had to wait a few minutes to be seated, but not very long. The location we sat at, a booth, was uncomfortably chilly. The booth was great and plenty of room for both of us, but I'm not sure how it would be for four people. I felt cold as soon as we sat down, even with a sweater on. I felt cold throughout the entire meal, as did my wife. The restaurant vibe was a little gaudy, but otherwise generally okay. We ordered calamari as an app and it definitely was tasty, although not the best I've ever had. The waiter brought over some very uninspiring bread. It had virtually no taste, and seemed less than that of a supermarket's-brand bread. They poured their 'homemade' olive oil on the bread (I didn't know olives grew in Albany!). The oil wasn't anything special. Butter wasn't offered. I ordered the NY strip with mushrooms and my wife got a filet mignon. We also ordered baked potatoes, a 'cauliflower steak', and asparagus as sides. The potatoes were huge, but tasted bland. Tables here do not have salt or pepper on them, and there was no butter provided. The asparagus was actually pretty good. The cauliflower'steak' was dry and pretty tasteless of flavor. I felt like I didn't get many mushrooms, and that they were nothing special either. On to the center of attraction - the steaks. My wife said she liked her filet mignon. I REALLY did NOT like my NY Strip. It was surprisingly difficult to cut with a serrated knife, difficult to chew, and to eat. There was absolutely nothing special about its taste. I honestly have had far better at Texas Roadhouse, the Barnsider, Delmonico's, and plenty of other restaurants. I only ate about a quarter of my steak because it was that bad. I did bring it home and it's still in my fridge, but I honestly don't know if I'll eat it. I'll probably give it a try. Our waiter was okay. Not great. Not horrible. If there were any specials he didn't mention them. I thought I heard a waitress serving a nearby table mention specials, but I could be wrong. He was otherwise attentive. We had two sizable gift certificates, so we didn't care much about the cost. Someone I work with said he had Japanese Wagyu filet and said it was the best steak he'd ever had. I almost ordered it but, despite the gift certificates, I could not justify $195 for a six ounce serving. I'm honestly not sure if I'm happy I didn't try it or not, given how lacking of flavor most everything else was. I know there's a relatively new owner of 677 who specializes in high end restaurants. I'm not sure if he owned it when I was here a few years ago for the wedding but, if not, something definitely seems to be different and not really for the better. I live around the corner from another restaurant he owns, Toros. I've eaten there twice, maybe three, times. My experience at Toros was very similar to 677 - pretty expensive and pretty unimpressive. If I could rank this in half-stars I would not give 677 a 2 1/2 or a 1 1/2 star rating - 2 really seems accurate. We have a pretty good balance on our remaining gift card, so we'll probably try 677 again, but I won't be looking all that much forward to it.

Yelp
As I plan to visit a friend in Albany, I can't help but to screatly hope she wants to go have dinner here. We went last year for her birthday and l was highly impressed. This establishment gives everything you would hope for in an upscale steakhouse. We went here on a Saturday evening as a party of 3. We had drinks, appetizers, a full meal, and dessert. My Ribeye was cooked to perfection, and the sides were so big they could have been shared. The waitstaff was very sophisticated and friendly. Our waiter was very knowledgeable of the menu. I would recommend going here if you have something to celebrate or if you would like to impress someone. Not often, I give a place a 5/5.

Yelp
Mediocre, corporate restaurant. Catering to people who feel like spending a lot of money equates to great food. But the food is average, and way at the bottom compared to other restaurants at that price point.
google avatar

Jen M.

Yelp
Atmosphere is wonderful and warm. Drinks are strong and perfect. Service is prompt and attentive.

Richard M.

Yelp
Worst high end steakhouse that I have ever experienced! The $75.00 NY sirloin was a very thin slab of ordinary beef, and in my opinion, not real Prime beef. I was on an overnight trip to Albany, and gave it a try. I honestly do not know why they have customers. It's a lot of glitz with no backbone!
google avatar

Emily B.

Yelp
I was with a party of two other people, and my experience is truly my own. Cannot speak for them. My lobster bisque was not warm throughout, and the singular piece of lobster within had huge shell fragments I had to spit out. My sea bass was lukewarm. It tasted great in terms of ingredients, and was clearly assembled with care. However, I do expect a $55 dish to be hot when it's placed on the table. If you look at my review history, I'm genuinely not one to complain; it's possible living in New York City has raised the bar in terms of what I consider to be worth the price point. This wasn't.
google avatar

Tonimarie M.

Yelp
Porterhouse for two served on a cutting board, medium rare, two garlic cloves, baked with sage, and a bread, truffle, calamari, fried not pictured delicious, and asparagus, mushrooms with Parmesan, and a loaded baked potato with some cheese I can pronounce. Absolutely to die for come hungry or you will leave with doggy bags! Waiter was fantastic. He was very we did not have to ask for anything.

Yelp
We went there for Valentine's Day and we were looking forward to trying since we heard nice reviews. Our expectations were not met to be honest. The food was okay but we thought the quality of food that day was not worth value. Our server, though, was great and was super helpful. The general vibe that day seemed a little chaotic. It was a very busy day though so we are willing to give it another try on a less busy day!
google avatar

Sarah K.

Yelp
This is clearly a place to go if your company is picking up the tab. We had a special occasion dinner and the service was impeccable. There were some musicians playing also which was lovely. The food is just not worth the price. We paid $86 for a bone in ribeye steak, which was maybe 1-2 inches in thickness and was overcooked. The highlight of the meal was the coconut cream pie with coconut gelato. If I were to come back it would be for this dessert only. Our total bill for 2 was $288, along with an additional generous tip because we did have an awesome server, Jon. This place just charges too much as these are prices one would pay at a top steakhouse in Manhattan.
google avatar

Steve G.

Yelp
Appetizers were amazing. Sides and drinks really stood out. The steaks were well cooked and very juicy. But the service was beyond belief. Our waiter, Anthony M was the consummate professional. Courteous, attentive and extremely knowledgeable in all things. I would return strictly for the service alone.
google avatar

Karen B.

Yelp
Service was great. Food was delicious. Ambiance was energetic but very inviting. It's definitely a place to check out.
google avatar

Yelp
Service is always impeccable, food is always on point with attention to every detail. Drink variety is wonderful and bartenders and servers are the best in the business. The place exudes sophistication and is beautifully lit.

Yelp
Not as magical as our first experience- service was fair, out of the veal wellington at 6:30pm on a sat?? Tomahawk was underdone for medium- closer to rare, I don't mind paying top dollar for a great meal if the experience and food matches the quality of money spent -this time at best average food/ service 1 st was amazing 3 years ago, this time was a meh for me - I wanted to treat a very special person to the same experience and it just fell way short of expectations - Courses were forgotten then finally came after asking, quickly followed by the next - Wine was poured well, had to ask multiple times for water then gave up and grabbed any employee walking by to assist - Ambience was ok back in a corner booth by the kitchen so very busy

Yelp
Where do I start, I guess with one word AMAZING! Made a reservation for 2 people on open table for last night at 615pm was even able to tell them prior to arriving that it was for our anniversary. Arrived right at 615pm had to park on the street or pay for parking which is the only slight negative. Walked in to a bar that was packed, greeted by a piano player right in the bar area, which you could hear throughout the restaurant. Classical dinner music. Hostess sat us right away after check in and even gave us a little anniversary card. Also they gave us a complementary champagne toast. Super nice and unexpected!! Ordered some delicious deluxe apps: deviled eggs, BLT wedge and French onion soup (see pics) and got complementary fresh baked warm bread with butter (see pic). In my opinion the deviled eggs were a bit over priced as you literally get one egg for $20. But the other apps were portioned correctly for the price. Waiter was very nice, attentive and seamlessly timed everything. Ordered 2, 7oz filet's medium rare, side of lobster Mac, a baked potato and asparagus. Every side is Al a cart so it does get expensive but worth every single penny. Can I just say what a nice touch it was that the CHEF the actual chef came out and served us our dinner! Never have I seen that before. It's really the little things that make a meal an experience. My belly was extremely full after devouring every last bit of my steak, had leftovers and no room for desserts. The bill was just about 280$ so be ready to have your wallet ready. But can I just say we left veryyy very satisfied. From start to finish it was excellent. It's the little touches that go along way and make the experience above and beyond! Would recommend to anyone wanting a good experience, deliciously full belly and doesn't mind paying for the attention to detail. Thank you to everyone at 677 prime for the perfect anniversary gift.
google avatar

Sarah M.

Yelp
Went to dinner here tonight for our anniversary and it was amazing. They gave us a champagne toast on the house after we were seated. The service was incredible, flawless from start to finish. Ambience is always nice in here, warm lighting, nice music in the background. Everything from our appetizer, to dinner and dessert was absolutely wonderful. I had a nice glass of Malbec with my dinner also. It was a perfect evening and I am thankful for being blessed enough to be able to go to this fine dining establishment. They are worth every penny. If I ever won the lottery, I world try to buy their chef with millions of dollars to come be our personal chef. :-D. Thank you so much to everyone at 677 Prime for making our anniversary dinner so magical. We appreciate you!

Yelp
We were in town visiting and decided to do our dinner date night here. Place was really nice, they had a live jazz musician which gave it a nice touch. We were seated right away. Server introduced himself and was helpful. We ordered the thick cut bacon app and jumbo shrimp cocktail, both very good. Our filets, broccolini and three butter purée were delicious. We ended the evening with coffee (espresso crème brûlée) and donuts. The crème brûlée was so good!! We had to wait a bit for the deserts, wasn't happy about that but overall our visit was good. Would recommend and would definitely come back.

Yelp
I proposed to my lovely wife in January 2021. And with all the restrictions related to Covid, we were a bit concerned about how smooth our wedding planning would go. However, the staff at 677 made the process seamless. We selected 677 as the venue for our reception because we loved what we saw and heard great things about them. And after our wonderful experience, they lived up to the hype. Despite the ever-changing health policies and unique challenges presented by the pandemic, we never felt "left in the dark". Mary B. and Amanada T. would routinely reach out to us to share updates and obtain information. During the reception, Tiffany was very attentive and responsive. She made sure I always had a cold drink in hand and that our guests were being attended to. I don't intend on being single and getting married again. But if I did, 677 would definitely be my venue of choice haha

Rose P.

Yelp
The saying you get what you pay for is 677 Prime The food, the service and the ambiance can not be compared. This restaurant is the gem of Albany
google avatar

Grace M.

Yelp
Service 10/10: Tiffany you are excellent at what you do. Thank you for your amazing cheerfulness that added so much vibrancy to our evening! Food 10/10: (special mention- the loaded potato with creme fraiche, cheddar and bacon) Ambience 10/10: impeccable decor and music Some suggestions: 1. For such an ambient restaurant, I wish there was a dress code- or at least a ban on T-shirts, shorts and flip flops. 2. Valet parking takes cash-only. Rather inconvenient if someone is not walking around carrying cash

Evan B.

Yelp
Perfect meal! I enjoyed each and every bite! As soon as I took one bite out of the bread, I knew that the main course (10 oz. filet) was gonna be good! And I was right, everything turned out perfect. Had Joe as our sever tonight. He's the best!!!
google avatar

Naoko S.

Yelp
Nice ambiance and good food. This was our family gathering and everyone was driving 3-5 hours to get there and was very hungry. Having said that, we were not WOW except mud chocolate cake, so I have to say food was good but not a knockout. A few people had filet mihnon including me. The chocolate cake was superb and everyone said the best chocolate cake in our lives- not too sweet and it is reasonably rich. Top notch cake.
google avatar

Miranda M.

Yelp
This is an upscale restaurant with live piano and a great ambiance for a date. The place had a large selection of wines and I was amused by their illuminated menus. The service was great, my glass of water was not empty for more than a minute. I had my first tomahawk steak to check off my bucket list and it came hanging over a cart with my server torching butter over it. The little show was fun and the steak was tender and delicious (medium rare) When I come back to NY I'll happily reserve a spot here again!
google avatar

Terry E.

Yelp
Absolutely worst experience dining out possible. The hostess sat us at a crappy table when the place was 3/4 empty. Even after the place filled, the table we requested was empty. When I mentioned it on the way out the door, she gave me a snarky attitude. The waiter apparently left halfway through our meal, but we didn't find out for 15 minutes because no one came to check our table. The medium rare steak was overcooked, and extremely dry. We finally asked for the check, paid the bill and left. If you are not a politician, you don't want spend your money there.

A W.

Yelp
DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU HAVE VEGAN GUESTS. Absolutely mortified to find that while advertising a "vegan/vegetarian menu" on their website, they didn't have ANY vegan entrees for my vegan guest. The only actual vegan option was a side of brussel sprouts. I was told by the waitress that they could make some of the vegetarian entrees vegan. She said just the dairy could be removed. Not that entire elements of the meal would be removed. Therefore the vegan "entree" was a naked plate of overcooked asparagus and brussel sprouts. Horrifying. The waitress took forever to serve our drinks and made weird snarky comments about the issue with the vegan menu. I understand that the restaurant is a steak house and their focus is not vegan/vegetarian. However, they advertise a "vegan/vegetarian" menu on their website. They do not have even a single vegan entree. If I had known, I would not have chosen this restaurant. It is false advertising. They need to remove the word vegan from this menu, or include an actual vegan entree.

Yelp
What you expect from a high end steak house. Went in for a family event. Got there early to get our drink on. Bartender (Jen) was so much fun and knows her drinks! From the IPAs, to whiskeys, to Chardonnay! When we sat, we where taken care of by a super attentive staff. The light up menus were fun! Tim was fantastic. The onion soup made with short ribs was amazing. You need to try it if you are a onion soup aficionado. The steaks were all good as well, the strip steaks were huge. The 90-day butter aged Delmonico was great. Lobster mac and cheese, creamed corn, creamed spinach, desserts, everything was great. Lost one star just because these high-end places charge so much for the food. While The food service and everything were good, the prices don't have to be that high.

Glenna G.

Yelp
Food took way too long to come from the kitchen. We ordered a corn dish and it was never brought. Once food came it was great.
google avatar

Carl G.

Yelp
A first class steakhouse it's often a destination for those. In the know you can't go wrong at prime.

Duncan M.

Yelp
When you take clients for a great experience you don't mind paying. Tonight's experience was the kind that makes you say no thank you. The service at the bar was awesome and the manager took care of a good chunk of the bill. In between was very poor service. Why pay those prices for very very poor service. I will spend my money at Black and Blue or Sizzler or Herbie Burger before ever going back. See ya 677.

Ryan

Yelp
Amazing food and our service was great but please wear semi formal attire also be ready to spend some money
google avatar

Emery M.

Yelp
Really enjoyed the food. Seafood tower was delicious especially the spicy dish of I believe shredded crab. I'm not a clams guy but the group also loved those. We all got different cuts of the steaks and they were all quite good. I'm not really into wine but according to my buddy they have a good selection here. The baked potato is the size of 2 fists next to eachother. Bomb. So good. The jalapeño creamed corn was also the best way I've ever had creamed corn. So good.

Joseph C.

Yelp
Everything was amazing, all the food was so tasty service was above expectations, even the drinks were great!!
google avatar

Chelsea F.

Yelp
I took my fiancé out to dinner here for her birthday and the food was absolutely amazing. It was a 100000/10. I would come back a million times. Our server was amazing!!! Went out of her way when I asked if they sing happy birthday and they actually did... they came up with something and lit a candle and actually sang happy birthday for her. It was absolutely amazing and made the night even better!
google avatar

Mia S.

Yelp
Meal was ALMOST perfect, unfortunately, the filet mignon was utterly tasteless which kind of ruined things. They automatically bring steak sauce to the table, which in my experience, is usually an indication of a disappointing steak. A steak properly seasoned and cooked shouldn't need steak sauce... However, the wedge salad, bacon and dessert were phenomenal. And my husband enjoyed his NY Strip.
google avatar

Adrienne B.

Yelp
One of Albany's top restaurants. Prime is a modern, fine dining steak house. While I've had several fine dinners here, my favorite thing to do is to come by during happy hour, sitting at the cozy bar. Happy hour offers half price on several wines and cocktails (mixed by true, real mixologist). There are also happy hour specials. Best deal in town sit at a classy bar, enjoying absolutely delicious food, sipping a fantastic cocktail. There are 4 happy hour choices for food: a roasted poblano, lamb sliders, burrata with garlic toast, and truffle fries. Certainly enough to make a meal out of. We got 3 (all but the pepper) and washed them down with ice cold, delicious dirty martinis. Perfection. The staff is alert, professional, hospital, and provide top notch service.

J L.

Yelp
I ordered a tampora and the first bite was all grizzle. I had to spit it out of my mouth. Terrible. The bar tender Will explained the help is the problem. The problem is the quality control. He said if there was another problem let him know. At $28 that is ridiculous. I left and did not order dinner. Quality of food based on Will the bartender's excuse is terrigel.
google avatar

Brooke N.

Yelp
I've heard about this place 100 times but never got the chance to indulge in it. The food was amazing. As you can see from our photos we ordered a ton of food. I think my favorite would have to be the calamari. I had a petite filet and asparagus which was done perfectly. We also had, a crab cake, truffle steak fries, lobster Mac and cheese, French onion soup, and a fAll Cobb salad. Think that's a lot? We finished w the milk and cookies!!! Omg!!! I am so full I don't think I can eat for a few days. I'll be back. Oh yes I will be back!

Yelp
Special Occasion Dinner! 677 is pretty notorious in the area as being a premier fine dining experience - it was definitely a taste of the high life - but, I have also received the same quality service and dining experience at other (cheaper) establishments. Use the valet service out front, its easier, but IMO, it should be free and you should tip accordingly. $7 is a little steep but I doubt any patrons here are pinching pennies. I didn't know my BF had paid the valet prior, and I tipped $5, so $12 is really just too much to put my car right around the corner. But, that's not super important. "Happy Anniversary!" is how we were welcomed by our server, along with a personal card on the table. I had said it was our anniversary when we reserved the table, but I wasn't expecting all this! The service was top notch. He explained everything we needed to know and more, down the the size and taste of each oyster on the menu, the prices, the portions - it was great. He also said the kitchen was willing to tweak anything according to your likes. When we opened our menu, we were delighted to have the back lit menu, a nice touch. I opted to get a few (3) glasses of wine over a bottle, the pours were pretty small but standard. The wine glasses, as expected, were of very high quality and a treat to use, Obviously, the place is pricey, so we skipped the appetizers tonight. The bread was amazing though, so that worked. Also, our food came out incredibly fast. We just wanted to indulge dinner. For steaks he ordered a Filet (medium well) and I order the Cowboy Ribeye (rare) with the truffle butter. We ordered three sides, steak fries, mushrooms and we had them split the mac and cheese to half lobster and half plain. Steaks: Before the food came out, the server came with a tray of various high end steak knives for us to choose from. We both chose big mighty knives, this was also, a great touch. Both the steaks were cooked perfectly to order. High quality meat, tender, delicious. They were served with roasted garlic and a roasted pepper. My BF smeared the roasted garlic all over the steak, it was one of his favorite parts. His was medium well, cooked that way, and he liked it. (I don't understand how he enjoys its this way. rare all the way for me!) With a 22oz ribeye, I only was able to eat half. The butter didn't really add much truffle flavor, which was disappointing, but the steak was great. And rare, how I like it. Sides: The Steak fries were huge, they were potato wedges, which is fine because they were very good. My BF loved them. They had a nice hint of truffle. The mushroom side was OK, I love mushrooms with my steak. I think they needed a pinch more salt. The mac and cheese was good. My boyfriend loved his (without lobster). His had a much thicker sauce and looked different in general. The lobster one was good, with an entire lobster in it, but the sauce was not as thick as it should have been, and the lobster slightly overdone. It still was super flavorful and enjoyable. We mentioned the sauce difference to the server, he noted that they add lobster bisque to the sauce to reinforce the lobster flavor, maybe they added a touch too much to mine. We ate, and ate, and ate, and ... had left overs. We brought a lot home, so that shows the portions are pretty good here. The food was packed up for us and we were each given bags of our goodies. We were full to the brim and decided to end it here instead of adding dessert to the mix. For everything, it was $191 before tip. I knew where we were going and the price ended up being right where we were thinking. For a special occasion, and trying a place for the first time, and indulging, it was worth it. It was a treat! Also, as an Anniversary perk, we received a $10 gift card with our bill at the end. We were both very happy and do plan to return, maybe for lunch next time.

Yelp
Service is great! Anthony and Tim were awesome! Anthony had so much patience with our large table. The surf n turf app is still my favorite there. Seafood tower was ok. Calamari was good, crispy outside and not chewy. We also ordered this duck fat served with small pancake and shredded cabbage, it was so flavorful! Wow it was delicious! It's a must try. WAGYU CAP STEAK was perfectly cooked with a side of the best garlic glove ever! The side triple butter potato purée was definitely buttered. So good but woah, it'll clog your arteries for sure. Yuzu glazed duck was good, crispy outside and soft and flavorful. Our friends all also ordered their premium filet and they were happy with it.

Yelp
Had the New York strip steak and Mac and cheese for my birthday. Both were good. I went for my birthday I would have enjoyed the night however I saw that there was something zooming past another table. Then after a few minutes a man yelled that there was a mice at his table. After 10 minutes I saw the brown mouse a table next to mine. I told the waiter about it and they apologized only saying that it came in due to the winter storm a few days prior. I would have gave the review a better rating if it weren't for that. Especially considering how much money me and my friend spent for the place.

Yelp
I thoroughly enjoyed dining here. The food was awesome as was the waiter, and service. Well done, but costly as hell!

Yelp
They are offering the Flat Iron Steak which is smaller than the Cowboy Steak. It's smaller but just as good!

Yelp
Tasty food, good service, WAY overpriced. Adding a mandatory 20% gratuity, for a party of 5 with a bill well over $1000, was highly insulting. We will not return.

Yelp
One of the best experiences I had in a while. Tomahawk served table side was generous in size. Coffee and donuts dessert not to be missed!

Yelp
Not as great as it was. I returned after about 3 years. Menu wasn't a light up, $50 Steak was over cooked. Portions were good and it was a nice night out. I would say over priced and slipping in the details for a gourmet dinning experience.

Yelp
Good ambience but their location is not that convenient, near down town Albany. Food is good but a little expensive.
