Hold on, my second visit was nothing like our first. This was a slow time for them and we were treated like we came an hour before they opened. We sat down to order and with maybe 1 other customer there, it took 10 minutes for someone to come take our order even though we were able to see three or four employees plan on their phones. Then our food took about 20 minutes and it just wasn't like it was the first time. They treated us like they never wanted us to return. Sad situation for such a small business. This place deserves a five-star rating however, we were not offered the option to stay and dine-in. We travel a lot so we don't have the option of eating in any place other than our vehicle or hotel. We were not headed to our hotel so we were forced to eat in our vehicle. Besides that, we arrived shortly after a flash mob did. Even with the crowd, we received our food very quickly and it was worth the stop. Hopefully next time we'll be able to dine in.

First off I want to say this was the best chicken hands down. I got the jerk chicken my boyfriend got the fried chicken. Both very good ! I gave 4 stars on the food because it seemed like the mac and cheese and collard greens were room temperature when brought to the table ( both plates) should have been hot, at least if not, warm. . I ordered a bacardi and coke and then the long island. They DID not skip out on any liquor, great drinks ! I gave the atmosphere 4 points because it just seemed like a big squared area with just tables put wherever. They could make it more inviting by adding big vases and some decorations. Maybe some candles on the tables. Just seemed like we were eating in a chow hall of some sorts. I will definitely be coming here again and am going to try the catfish this time. Maybe just a pick up. I was looking for romantic and this wasn't it.

Google
$18! The food seems to be just worth the price. Well cooked and warm enough to eat. Some seniors were enjoying a party here (around lunch time) and the music was loud but it was okay for me because the music was a VIBE. 😂 The serving lady was nice and helpful.

Google
Soul food is a specialty and not every one can do it correctly! 6978 Soul Food can do it. The atmosphere in the restaurant is okay it definitely gives outdated bar/banquet hall. But one thing I’ve learned as a foodie is how the place looks shouldn’t always deter you from stopping cause we all know some of the best restaurants are holes in the wall. When we were seated we did a quick check to make sure it was clean and everyone was pleased. Our waitress was extremely sweet and nice. We have a big table with children so we always appreciate waitstaff that are a little understanding. The food was quick to get to the table which was great because we didn’t have to wait long. Even though the food was quick it was fresh and hot. The sides were amazing! The food was good definitely something to feel your stomach when you have a taste for soul food but don’t want to put in the effort.

Google
WOW!!!! Great Place with Excellent Customer Service. We ordered Smothered Chops, dressing and yams. The Soul Food was smooth going down my throat. The taste was exquisite. I visited this restaurant before and had the same level of service, just forgot to write a review.

Google
I was there for my aunts retirement party, and from the moment I walked in I was greeted with smiles, the food is amazing, the drinks was on point. The atmosphere was welcoming and the bathrooms was clean. The waiters did an amazing job we had a big crew and everyone was tooken care of. I will definitely be back to this establishment.

Google
I was craving some soul food so we checked out this spot. Family cozy ambiance. I ordered smothered pork chops, Mac and cheese, yams and banana pudding. It wasn’t bad but could have been better. My chops weren’t completely warmed up but I was so hungry I ate fast. Yams were a bit too sweet and the Mac and cheese needed a bit more flavor. Banana pudding was okay. I will definitely give them another try.

My husband and I went here after church on Sunday Feb 15th, 2025. Let me say that I typically don't eat soul food out because not many can compare to mine as I am a Chef. This food was outstanding. Almost had me thinking I prepped it myself. My husband had the smothered pork chops with greens, yams, and dressing. Nothing was left on his plate. I had the fried chicken with Mac and cheese, greens, and yams. The Mac and cheese is smacking. Greens had a great flavor. The yams were excellent and not too sweet. We'll definitely be back to this place. Drove all the way over from Oak Brook IL to check them out. Now I see what all the fuss is about!!!!

Yelp
I decided to do takeout here on a Sunday night for dinner. We placed our order online and did picked it up with no issues. The lady at the counter was very welcoming and joyful. The food was good, but a little bit on the expensive side. We ordered three one entree plates. They came with two sides and a muffin. My wife and son both ordered their fried chicken entree with Mac & cheese and yams, and I ordered their smothered pork chops with yams and collard greens. The fried chicken was good, Mac and cheese was ok, collard greens weren't the greatest. The yams were delicious and the smothered pork chops definitely hit the spot. The food overall was seasoned well, not under seasoned and most importantly not over seasoned. The gravy was really good and the pork chops were cooked perfectly. We also ordered their banana pudding. This one was just ok. Not sure if I'd order it again. We wanted peach cobbler but they were out. Next time we'll order that if it's available. My entire family enjoyed their meal and we will definitely be returning.

Yelp
Came here on a Sunday for a nice lunch - I chose to dine out. Upon entering I was greeted by a young lady at the bar. I grabbed a menu and she was able to take my order. I chosen the $21.99 meal which is one entree, 3 sides and a dessert. Not bad, right? I waited about 5 minutes before my meal was packaged and handed to me. Should've taken that as a sign. Especially for soul food. Chicken and gravy - decent. The gravy was thick and tasty. Not salty thank the heavens. My issue with the entree was that you could tell the chicken had been sitting in the gravy too long. The crispiness was gone. Corn muffin was basic and small. Nothing special or out of the ordinary. The yams were an absolute no. Definitely canned yams made with no love. same for the collards. The Mac and cheese was alright but it reminds of of the Mac and cheese they serve as the kids table. Overall, for $24.39, the meal fell flat. The peace cobbler held together real well. While I enjoyed popping my head in, I will not be back.

Yelp
I ordered the 2 piece catfish dinner that came with 3 sides and dessert. I got the dressing, Mac n cheese, and greens with banana pudding. The catfish was a 5/10. It was not as crispy as last time, and was bland. Definitely lacked some salt. The Mac n cheese was a 8.5/10. It was clearly baked, and very The greens were a 10/10. I prefer my banana pudding with a little more cookies, and not as much pudding but the flavor is definitely there so im going to give it a 9.5/10.

Yelp
I wanted to love this place so bad but the food wouldn't let me. The restaurant was old but clean and the staff were pleasant but again the food just wasn't up to par. As someone whose family is from Monroe Louisiana and a current GA resident I assure you soul food doesn't taste this way. I read their health scores thankfully after I ate the food. I still wish this business the best. I'll come back after they tighten up.

Yelp
Great soul food and amazing service. I would recommend this place if you're in the mood for Soul Food.

Yelp
Father-in-law found this spot on Groupon and recommended it to us. On a Friday night, no one wants to cook. We decided to go out and try this spot. We like Soul Food but don't often pay to have it. Quite frankly, I know how to cook Soul Food so I don't wanna pay for it. One of the those things were you like it a certain way. Boy am I glad that we tried this restaurant out. This food hit the spot on a cold Chicago night. For food we got pork chops and fried chicken. Those Smoothered Pork Chops were perfect. The gravy, the onions and the pepper were just 5/5 stars. Husband grabbed White Meat Chicken. He enjoyed his chicken. I tried some of it and it was okay. Would prefer more seasoning on the chicken skin. Sides were all delicious. I throughly enjoyed the mac & cheese, greens and dressing. My husband got the spaghetti and that was good too. Spaghetti reminded me of the bbq shack Spaghetti. That hits too on some white bread. Anyway...got side tracked. I would order my meal again. Cornbread needs some work. Drinks and service were good. Also super props for having a side of cranberry sauce (the canned kind), lol to go with my dressing. Dessert was an added plus, peach cobbler was delicious. Banana pudding was good but they used imitation banana pudding and would prefer just vanilla versus the imitation bannana pudding. All in all, local spot with good food. Covid19 precautions taken and enforcing vaccine mandates. Support local businesses. No regrets here. I am going to give this a 3.5 stars. Not quite 4 stars but I enjoyed my meal.

Yelp
The restaurant is somewhat dark inside but they had The Little Mermaid cartoon on which was interesting. The service was good, friendly and prompt. We tried the baked chicken, jerk chicken and smothered pork chop. The seasoning was all very tasty but the baked chicken was a little dry. I loved the macaroni and cheese best. The green beans and greens were just okay. My husband loved the black eyed peas.

Yelp
New spot fir me. Greeted nicely by the family. Food was ready when we got there cuz it was originally ordered for takeout. Once we got here. Decided to sit down in the restaurant. Service was very good. Pleasant servers. My gurl ordered all sides....corn, lima beans, greens, mash potatoes. All good food. I ordered chicken with Mac n cheese and lime beans. Along with their peach cobbler. I will say their cobbler was one of the better ones we've had in a while. The chicken was good. The Mac reminded me of old school Mac. Overall, very good and I will be back

Yelp
I attended a AARP caring seminar there on June 5, 2024 the soul food service was delicious.

Estelita Q.

Yelp
horrible service and the workers are ignorant. the food isn't even good. i don't even eat this kind of food. i'll go back to my latin or american meals. byeeeeee!

Yelp
The restaurant has a great vibe. Service was quick & very friendly. I had the smothered chicken w mac/cheese & dressing, all were good, but not special in my opinion.

Yelp
Jtge food is just ok. Ordered food to go. Smothered dark chicken Dinner (one thigh and one leg) with 3 sides and a free peach cobbler 21.99. Mac and cheese was tasty. Chicken thigh was not tender actually kind of hard. Greens unseasoned. Dressing just ok. Been here a few times and disappointed that I spent that much money on mediocre food. Peach cobbler average.

Yelp
I ordered two plates from this empty dump. I should've known something was wrong when nobody was in there eating only drinking:. The food was bland, old , and taste burnt please don't spend any money or any time in the dump. I haven't been there in a while but now I will never go back or refer this place to anybody. Total waste of money!

Yelp
This spot was incredible! My son and I were in town for the godzilla fest. We found this on Google. It was so good my son asked who is in the kitchen cooking! Next time I'm in the Chi I'm definitely coming back.

Yelp
Under new ownership since my last Visit but the food is still High quality at a reasonable price. Be sure to check their daily menu before you go to make sure the selections that you desire are available on that day.

Yelp
Before we headed to our hotel we wanted some good ole SOUL FOOD. We were searching and searching. The other restaurants closed early. When we stumbled across 6978 their photos spoke for themselves. Their food had been absolutely divine. We had to order an entrée to go and meet the chef. Way to go 6978!

Jonelle W.

Yelp
The food was very delicious and my apple martini was a hit. I had the smothered chicken and gravy over rice, macaroni and cheese greens and a side of dressing with cranberries sauce. For dessert I had a side of peach cobbler which my coworker love.

Yelp
I traveled over an hour to eat some long awaited soul food, and it was sooo bland the wings were tasteless and the sweet potatoes were over sweet and in a bowl of syrup not good at all

Yelp
After my run on a nearby trail in River Grove I searched Yelp for what vegan restaurants were near, but didn't have any luck. Well at least luck finding anything that caught my eye which led me to seek out southern food restaurants as my taste buds craved as well. And lo and behold, 6978 Soul Food showed up being that it was nearby. The restaurant has a sports bar-like inner appearance rather than like a mom-and-pop restaurant which is what I imagined because of its options and its restaurant exterior. The restaurant does have its own parking area, but it is very slim. If you find yourself unable to find a parking spot there is still the option to park within the neighborhood along N Sayre Ave or possibly along W North Ave. After entering the restaurant, the waitress acknowledged me and took my order. I wasn't able to order just three sides because sides come with an entrée which is a meat option. The waitress worked with me allowing me to choose four sides (dressing, collard greens, mac & cheese and red beans & rice) w/ dessert (peach cobbler) because I wasn't interested in ordering meat which I am currently abstaining from. While waiting on my order I examined the menu which had a selection of southern food options. Every day, Tuesday thru Sunday the menu has featured meats which are slightly different each day. After a wait that I was not even concerned about, a different waitress asked me if I had ordered? What was my order? And what was my name to confirm the order. Moments later she came out with my order which now that I think about it should've come sooner, but oh well. As for the food, the food was decent! The mac & cheese didn't have much of a cheesy taste to it; the peach cobbler had more peach rather than crust, and the cornbread was very plain as though something was missing. I guess I had high expectations because what my taste buds craved I didn't taste which is no shade at this restaurant. As a rating I have to give it 3 1/2 out of 5 stars, but definitely not a 4 star. To conclude, I cannot say that I had a totally bad experience; it was just the food did not satisfy my taste buds. It was eatable and hell I did fall asleep right after eating it. I can't blame the run I went on before the visit nor the shower after my run, it was definitely the food, hehe. If I were to visit again I wouldn't mind trying their catfish which may have resulted in a different rating if I ordered it initially rather than just sides. ~Blessings~ Thomas G

Yelp
I can't believe I never posted a review. I absolutely LOVE LOVE this establishment. From the space to the staff. I had my engagement party here and they were so professional and patience with us. They treated us like family and the food was out of this world. I would give more stars if allowed. One thing that made me love them were their honesty when it came to the food I was ordering for my event. And the price was phenomenal. Shout out to Ms. Dorothy and Funny man Wes

Yelp
My favorite soul food restaurant great great great food. I always use a Groupon and they're serving are out of this world. I always have chicken wing yams, macaroni and cheese and beans and rice. Wow what a treat.

Gary H.

Yelp
I had a delicious dinner with my family. I loved the pot roast and will be back for more. I got to choose three sides and tried the okra, collard greens, and yams. They were very accommodative to a family member's food allergies and had a lot of options. The service was very good and fast. I like that they are family owned and operated. We will be back soon and also order some catering for Thanksgiving!

Mary M.

Yelp
Every time I go to 6978 Soul Food the foods always fresh and hot. I believe our grandmothers are in the back kitchen cooking, great memories

Yelp
This was the absolutely BEST soul food. I was invited to this establishment for a birthday celebration. I truly enjoyed the food. Today's time, eating out cost 50.00 and up. This dinner is priced right $20.00. It also comes with a desert.

Yelp
I had the smothered pork chops, dressing, cabbage, & candied yams. It was not the best soul food I have tasted. The best thing on my plate was the candied yams! The customer service was very dry. The cornbread was not tasteful at all and the peach cobbler was not the best. I wanted to go to a sit-in soul food spot because it's not too many you can find anymore. Unfortunately this was not a great experience.

Yelp
After reading the bad reviews on the internet I decided to reach out and call to see if I could assist with making some dishes that would be very tasty. I called and the manager was unprofessional asl. How can you be a manager of a restaurant and not have any communication skills. I never got a chance to talk to her because I became frustrated with her ignorance.

Pamela D.

Yelp
I love they smothered pork chops best in town and a banana pudding is the bomb. Red Beans and Rice

Yelp
This is the second time I ordered from this restaurant. The site says that they open at noon. I called at 12:05 to check if they had turkey, and the person on the phone said yes. I got there around 12:30 and was told they were out of turkey! WTH!! How can you be out of turkey the day BEFORE Thanksgiving? And within. 25 minutes? So I then had to order 4 dinners with 3 sides (mac & cheese, dressing & greens). And 2 additional yam. The only difference between the dinners, were 2 orders originally were baked chicken and 2 were fried chicken. After being told that there would be a 30 minute wait, the waitress came back and told that there would be an extra hour wait. So, I switched the order, to 4 fried chicken instead. When I got ready to eat my second Thanksgiving meal today (on Thanksgiving); my order was messed up. One of my orders was missing a Mac & cheese and was substituted for yams. After, I already paid additional money, for 2 sides of yams. This is ridiculous! So I'm owed a Mac & cheese! I did not expect to see yams, in place of my Mac & cheese. You try to support Black businesses, but with this level of unprofessional, it makes be what to go to other establishments. This is the second year, where they ran out of turkey! Damn! Do I need camp out overnight, to ensure that I get turkey?
google avatar

Alexandra T.

Yelp
The food was very over cooked. My fish was so hard that it was inedible. The macaroni was bad the noodles look like they are separated from the cheese and not coated. The greens were tasteless and all of my food was cold. The peach cobbler had burnt spots in it and the cornbread was burnt
google avatar

Yelp
So family had a taste of "soul" food and this place was recommended. So, of course I had to check it out. The minute you walked in the first door greeted with a table of promotional cards / poster / advertisement. Second door take you inside and greeted with a bar. Hostess did appear to us and greeted us warmly. At first we were going to dine-in but changed our minds to take-out instead. Dining room is dim with several televisions all around. I didn't know if the vibe meant for it to be romantic or sports lounge. Ordered dinner specials: turkey legs w/ 3 sides (mac n cheese, yams, Lima beans), jerk chicken w/sides ( mac n cheese, greens, mashed potatoes w/gravy), smothered pork chops w/sides (mac n cheese, yams, dressing). The turkey legs and pork chops were soft that just fell off the bones. The jerk chicken was over cooked and a little dry. The sides were all delicious. Don't forget the desserts. I got the banana bread pudding and peach cobbler. It was worth it! They definitely have the option of booking a private room for a private party. There's street parking available just don't forget to pay or take a chance to get the lovely Chicago ticket.

Linda R.

Yelp
I tried this place for the first time last night. Had roasted chicken with mac and cheese side and dressing side, they included cornbread. Food was so good, especially the mac and cheese. Plus enough food for leftovers next day. Also, server was helpful and very courteous.

Yelp
This food just didn't touch my soul. It wasn't bad and it wasn't great it was just ok. I had the fish with dressing, greens, yams and a corn bread muffin. The food came to the table piping hot, but boy did it lack flavor. The fish was meaty but lacked seasoning, the dressing was good but to soft for me. I originally gave 3 stars but the service gets them a extra star. Give it a try you may love this type of "soul food".

Derrick P.

Yelp
Food was great. Had a host who was in training and did an exceptionally good job her and her trainer. Place had a good vibe going on would definitely try again.

Nilda H.

Yelp
Friendly staff who were very welcoming! Had several sides and 2 entree items with desert. Everything I had tasted delicious. Catfish and chicken well seasoned and juicy not dry. Beautiful atmosphere. Full bar. Street parking available. Alot of great items to choose from the menu. Will be coming back to try more of the items with my family. Looking forward to the jerk chicken and meatloaf too!! Highly recommend this place. 5 stars

Yelp
I've been itching to get here for the longest & I've finally made it!!! We came in at 4pm & were seated instantly. They already had a group of patrons dining in & taking out. The waitress told us to place our orders quickly so we didn't have to wait behind a group of 10 bikers (but they had already ordered & eaten). Ok so we ordered quickly because we knew what we wanted. I ordered smothered chops, 1pc of fish, 1 fried thigh, yams & greens. Then I was told you get 3 sides, ok cool, I ordered rice & gravy. She also advised I'd be charged $3.00 for the 1pc of fish. The waitress seemed to be slightly hearing impaired & in a hurry. Fast fwd to the food, it took 35 mins for our food to come out. I DIDN'T LIKE THAT!!!! I hadn't eaten since the day before at 8pm so I was STARVING!!!! Food came out & she had 2pcs of the $3 each fish, lol. I'm not petty so I didn't correct the elderly, but this is an issue an overcharge on an item I didn't request, but WHATEVER.... The chicken was the bomb!!!!! It was hot & fresh. Great flavor & crispness. I would've loved extra chicken, lol. Yams & greens were good, but my greens were cold. Smothered chops & rice was cold but they probably would've been good. I wrapped that up 2 go. Which is why they lost a star. We waited 35mins NOTHING should be cold. The fish was OK, I wouldn't have to order it again. would definitely go back, but would probably only order food that's cooked to order. We purchased a Groupon 2 meals for $16 WHAT A STEAL!!!! & the lady forgot the charge for the chicken, lol, guess the extra fish charge covered it. All in all I enjoyed my food, except the cold shit, but I'd come back. Especially off of another GROUPON. LOLBDS UPDATE: Reheated the porkchops & they weren't cooked thoroughly. The meats texture was slimy and soft TOTALLY DISGUSTING!!!!! NEVER ORDERING THAT AGAIN & SERIOUSLY SIDE EYING THIS JOINT. I'M PISSED!!!!!

Yelp
Great food, reasonable prices. Dinner includes dessert! We dine there often. Menus changes daily, but all of the offerings are delicious. I especially enjoy their music -- usually old school soul and R&B -- how could you go wrong?

Yelp
Since the pandemic I have become very familiar with Uber Eats and Grub Hub. I saw this place on Uber Eats and at the time it had free delivery so I decided to give them a try. I opted for the entree with 2 sides so I got smothered pork chops with rice and collard greens. I always have to try a restaurant's mac and cheese so I ordered an extra side of mac and cheese. Since I was getting it delivered I figured, what the heck, order desert- so I ordered the peach cobbler as well. The estimated time for my delivery was 30-50 minutes. I figured it would be closer to 50 minutes but in actuality it only took about 25 minutes. I was impressed because that meant the restaurant prepared my order in a timely manner and my delivery driver must have been speeding..lol When I received it it was still warm, I still heated it a bit. Needless to say, HGS (hungry girl syndrome) kicked in and I started eating and forgot to take a picture of my dinner. The pork chops were good. Well seasoned, smothered in enough gravy and not tough. There were 2 so I had enough for another meal. The rice was rice. Nothing spectacular but went well with my pork chop. The mac and cheese was decent. It was baked and not just pasta in cheese sauce so that was good. The collard greens were tasty as well. I was satisfied with the dinner. The best part was the peach cobbler. I love a peach cobbler with good crust and this was it. It was delicious. Overall it was a good, affordable meal with servings large enough for me to have a whole dinner the next day and I didn't have to do any dishes or leave my house :) I'll probably try something else on their menu one day with peach cobbler for dessert for sure!

Yelp
The food is good but get it to go because the flies like the food too! The greens and Mac is delicious!

Yelp
Absolutely great experience! Visited the city for only 5 days and visited here twice. Would recommend the Mashed Potatoes, Mac and Cheese, Dressing, all of it!! Service made me feel at home and taken care of. Am looking forward to returning.

Yelp
We visited shortly after they opened. The restaurant has a good atmosphere with a nice size bar inside and flatscreens for television entertainment. The server was pretty and very pleasant. It didn't take long for our food and it was hot coming out. I ordered baked chicken, greens, red beans and rice. The meal came with a muffin of real cornbread, not Jiffy mix. The portions were decent. I received (1) wing and (1) breast. The food was seasoned good but after getting into it, the breast of chicken was somewhat dry. The red beans were firm and the corn muffin was dry as well. I'm not an excellent cook but I can suggest adding a little moisture and oil to everything roasting covered chicken slooowly basting it with butter so it falls off the bone and for the greens to just lose their stiffness add a little olive oil in the water for healthy eating, then unsalted butter in the water of the red beans. Otherwise, it's a nice place!

Chynna B.

Yelp
The food was delicious. Eating home cooked soul food all my life, I didn't have high expectations, I thought it would be good but I didn't expect it to be this good. The yams had the perfect amount of sweetness, Mac n Cheese was seasoned well, the chicken was perfectly crunchy and the smothered pork chops were so good! Our server was sweet and attentive. She could tell it was our first time here. Our eyes lit up like Christmas trees when our food arrived lol. I'm from CA and someone recommended this place. I'm definitely coming back every time I visit Chicago.

Yelp
This place is nearby and the staff is always friendly and helpful whenever we come in. Honestly though I would say that the star of the show isn't necessarily their fried chicken but rather their sides. I enjoy their yams and cabbage and greens and things like that there. The chicken is just OK to me. However whenever I do come they never forget anything even when I have a large order and everything is always hot and fresh.

Yelp
Went here with my family. OMG!!! Fresh, hot and yummy in that tummy! I ordered the smothered chicken, Mac n cheese, yams. It was delicious. I would suggest ordering ahead for takeout. Definitely worth the wait! Go here if you want some real soul/comfort food

Yelp
Food was pretty good. Drinks were great at well. Definitely worth the value with a Groupon :-) I would definitely come back

Came here for a co-workers MarchMadness event and it was nothing less than hospitality. Lasagna, salad, fried chicken, green beans... #lit small establishment, intimate but worth the drive if you are looking for a pretty good soul food spot.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I bought a Groupon for this location, and although it was an hour drive from home, I think it was definitely worth it! We got the opportunity to choose an entree of the day (prob 5-6 options). I went with jerk chicken and he got smothered chicken. We also got to choose from 3 sides. My opinion- MAC was the best! My boyfriend said next time he wants just 3 orders of Mac lol. We also got the choice of a dessert. I chose banana pudding and he got peach cobbler. Everything was amazing!! Such a great meal! (And plenty for leftovers too!) staff was amazing! Thanks again!

Yelp
I've been eyeing this spot for months. Thankfully, a groupon and a great friend later I was able to give it a try. It did not disappoint. We arrived and we were greeted immediately. Menu received at the table. It definitely feels like it's a family atmosphere and chill. We were served water and asked if were needed a moment to view the menu. We ordered our drinks. They were tasty. Tequila sunrise and amaretto sour. They used the wrong glass for the type of drink, but it was fine. I got the smothered pork chops, seasoned just enough and pretty tender. Collard greens were good. My friend enjoyed them for having greens for the first time ever. Rice with gravy... Yum! And mac n cheese. How can you not love 3 sides?! My friend got the fried chicken. We shared our protein portion and the chicken was great. Crispy and fresh. I got the peach cobbler for dessert. This was great! Warm and tasty. My friend got the banana pudding. Its served cold. I prefer hot desserts, but it was still simple and good. We very much enjoyed our meal and will be returning. Hopefully, soon! Catfish here we come! This is not a fancy restaurant or for bouj status. It's homey feeling and even the employees make you feel that way. In a good way...like family. They were ALL very friendly and the service was great. We were there last closing and they waited patiently for us to leave. Very chill

Yelp
The fish is disgusting with literally no seasoning in the coating. The fried chicken tastes worse than grocery store chicken NO to the Mac and cheese, the cobbler dough was raw and cornbread was blah i am sure I didn't order a diabetic meal
