Yelp
7 Devils Waterfront Alehouse came as one of the top searches when we browsed through Yelp for dinner options around the area. What attracted us there was not just all the mouthwatering food pictures, but the view as well! We were hiking around the Oregon Dunes and the food there looked delicious post-hike. Since there seemed to be a wait, we made sure to get on the wait-list for 7:30PM timeslot, which worked perfectly timing wise.
Parking is plentiful as they are located inside a plaza. We got there on time, but we still had to wait a bit for our table to get set up. Interior of this place is spacious. There's bar seating, both small and big table seats, and outdoor patio seating if you wanted. We got seated near the window with the waterfront view which was amazing to see!
For food, I ended up opting for Quinoa Bowl because I wanted something light and some of the ingredients are local. I also got the Soup of the Day to share with my partner and the soup today was a Chicken & Rice soup. Our waiter said it was flavorful, and it sounded comforting since it got pretty chilly by that time. I also wanted to try their Blackberry Lemonade! Again, I think their blackberries were locally sourced, so I wanted to try it. My partner got their Oregon Beef Burger, medium rare, with a side of Coleslaw. And a seasonal Nitro Porter.
Food came really quick. Drinks came first. The Blackberry Lemonade was a bit frizzy, mildly sweet, and pretty refreshing. It would be lovely for a hot summer day like today, except I came during a chilly late dinner time, so it was a bit too cold for me to fully enjoy, but nonetheless, I did enjoy it. Soup came after and as our server has said it was a flavorful bowl of soup! There's plenty of ingredients in there and it was almost porridge like. Honestly, I could have been happy with just this bowl of soup tonight. It was both comforting and warming. Not to mention, hearty as well. As for my Quinoa Bowl - this comes with beets, Oregon hazelnuts, green beans, roasted tomatoes, microgreens, and a hazelnut sauce. There's plenty of ingredients inside despite how small the plate looked. The quinoa was made fluffy, but I think the overall bowl was lacking a bit of flavor. There is a kind of hazelnut sauce on there, but if I'm not misidentifying the sauce, then I would say the sauce is too thick to evenly coat the other ingredients. It's almost like a hummus spread consistency, so clumps of quinoa sort of just stuck to it. The roasted tomatoes were delicious. Beets were nicely cooked and the beans were okay. I think there could be a little more flavor to the beans as well. All in all though, it was a healthy comforting bowl as well.
I didn't get to sample my partner's Oregon Beef Burger, but by the looks of it, it looks loaded. The cheese melt looked amazing even though I can't eat it and it was made medium rare just like my partner requested. On the other hand, I did take a sip of my partner's Nitro Porter and it was delicious! Even for someone like me who doesn't normally drink. It had a velvety, deep, chocolatey taste to it. I wouldn't be able to have the whole glass to myself, but I enjoyed sampling.
Aside from food, service was friendly, but really quick to the point. I did notice that although the staffs look friendly, they also looked pretty tired and unenthusiastic by this time of night. I don't blame them, but I do feel for them! They seem to get really busy, and with how big the space is, they probably do endless amount of running around. All in all, would still recommend if you're looking for a great spot with a view!
