Warning: Car towed with NO clear signs - avoid this location!
I work 3 blocks away and my colleagues have shopped here for years, but we will not be returning. I parked here for 20 minutes to view a property for sale in the attached building and never left the block. The realtor I met said they'll now be warning other realtors and residents about this 7-Eleven.
There are NO CLEARLY VISIBLE TOWING SIGNS when entering from Ena Road or near the parking stalls. The only notices are either facing the Kalākaua entrance or placed high on the wall and in the store window, behind yellow beams — not visible to drivers entering from Ena Road. (see photos)
Based on Hawai‘i’s towing regulations, signs must be clearly visible to drivers at the parking stalls or at each entrance, which this lot does not appear to meet. I’m filing a complaint with the Office of Consumer Protection for review, and encourage others to do the same.
Employees explained that parking is only for customers actively inside the store, and that cars may be towed the minute you step off the property — even briefly to the shop next door. The tow truck literally parks right next to the building. Be cautious, and read other reviews or the Island News story (Feb 2024) before parking here. Many locals have had similar experiences.
