Dante’s Inferno: New Rooftop Bar, Restaurant, and Club to Open in Downtown San Francisco - Eater SF

"Southern California-based coffee chain 7 Leaves Cafe is headed further north, adding its first San Francisco location to its four San Jose outposts, the San Francisco Chronicle reports. The chain is known for its Vietnamese iced coffees, milk teas, sea cream drinks (a sea salt-enhanced whipped cream topping), and macarons. It will take up space at 3931 Alemany Boulevard beside San Francisco’s H Mart. The shop is expected to open on Thursday, May 9." - Dianne de Guzman

Staff are attentive, polite and nice. I think some of them are just like quiet/shy Asians, but mistaken as rude in some reviews. I like their menus, both drinks and bakery items, with variety. Drinks are interesting, not just like a typical boba tea shop. I like the ube croissants and cookies, pandan mochi, and the jasmine tea sea foam a lot. The store is spacious, nice and clean. My drinks were filled and there wasn’t excessive ice like in some reviews. I’m surprised that the average review here is low. Maybe they have improved a lot since opening. I prefer my MILK teas can be made less sweet per Asian standard :)

This place honestly makes me annoyed. Ever since they opened, they never get my order right. And they got the nerve to ask for a tip when ordering at the register. Why would I tip you when I know you’re going to mess up my order. Opening day, I ordered a mint sereno, they made me a matcha drink. Guys at the register assume you don’t have the app. Then when you wanna scan it, they say too late. So now I just do mobile orders. Ordered a drink with no ice because I planned to drink it later. It was full of ice. I also ordered it with extra shots of espresso. Bet they didn’t even do that either. Workers can’t read a label on a cup, I have no remorse for this review. I never have this problem at any of the other locations.

I came here maybe two or three weeks after their grand opening? I liked their mung bean milk tea that I had in Cupertino. So when I learned they opened a new location next to H Mart SF I was very thrilled. However it was kind of disappointing especially their macarons. When I first went in, I was confused because the sign at the line said mobile pick up with the QR code, so I downloaded the app. But because this location was new, it didn't offer that option yet. Second thing I noticed was that the store was super "hot", I don't know if they forgot to turn on the AC or the air vent. - Service, the cashier didn't seem that friendly or welcoming. I asked her if they take tips because the POS didn't ask me to add tips, but she didn't answer my question. Then I looked down and there's a tip "hole" in the counter. Anyway, I didn't have cash. The guy who served out orders was more friendly but he gave me the wrong thing but maybe that was the kitchen's fault. He let me kept it tho 6.5/10 - Macarons, I had very high expectations but what a disappointment 😔. I ordered 6 flavors so they were packed in a box. I ordered every flavors except the chocolate and vanilla. Before I leave, I checked the box, good thing I did because they gave me vanilla instead of the earl grey. However I wish they didn't serve me the earl grey at all!!! I don't know if it wasn't defrosted properly or something but it was just a mushed up biscuit. It was so flaky and disgusting that it was even worse than the worst macaron I ever had. One of the flavors was very hard which means it's not fresh 4/10, the earl grey itself is 0/10 IF ITS NOT READY THEN DON'T SERVE IT TO YOUR CUSTOMER! - Drinks: -Thai ice tea not the best I had but not bad, in the photo it wasn't mixed but it was served mixed to me 7/10 -Sea cream jasmine tea was great, I just wished they do offer a no sugar option 7.5/10 - Strawberry hibiscus, just ordinary 7/10 Overall, this location left me a not so good first impression, untill they improve, I'll go to other locations instead even if they're very far away.

Google
I’ve been ordering from here on a monthly basis since I drive by the store almost everyday. However, this is what I get today when I got no ice for my house coffee. It’s about 70% full. Is this how you do business? Why can’t you just charge extra for the no ice option? How about charging $10 instead $8 for my drink (talk about inflation)? Or using the budget for sugar on more coffee since the easy sweet option is equivalent to 125% sweetness from other shops? Very disappointing!

Came on Mother’s Day around 5:30pm and it was quite busy. The last time I had 7 Leaves was probably back in 2019 lol. I was craving the Mung Bean Milk Tea so I was willing to wait in line. Ordered a large mung bean milk tea regular sweet ($5.45 + $0.85 upsized) and a mix between mung bean and sea salt cream jasmine tea regular sweetness ($5.45 + $0.85 upsized). I don’t remember the drinks being this sweet. I would probably get 50% sweet or easy sweet next time. The mung bean milk tea was pretty good. I wouldn’t get the mixed drink again. It didn’t really have a jasmine tea taste. I also wanted to order honey boba but they ran out. :( Overall satisfied with my drink and service. The girl in the front taking orders that day was super nice and understanding! Still pretty stoked to have a 7 leaves in the city now. Will definitely be back for their house coffee once the line dies down. I probably waited about 15-20 mins to order and maybe 2 mins to get my drink so it wasn’t too bad. But once they have their online ordering system set up, I’m sure the lines wouldn’t be as long. Something to know though, they open at 10:30am during soft opening even though it says 10am. Grand opening should be on May 18 at 10am. 05.12.2024 | Sunday @5:30pm

Google
I was expecting a crazy long line at 7 Leaves when they first open but nope, the back kitchen had more than enough staff to deal with all our orders so kudos to them for being prepared! 7 Leaves is rooted in Vietnamese culture and you will find a lot of Viet-inspired drinks here, including Vietnamese coffee and mung beans drink. It is not a traditional boba house with a million toppings but everything you try here will be tasty. Highly recommend the drinks with sea cream. Plenty of parking as this is in the same area as HMart, so there is a dedicated parking lot. However the grocery shopping rush on weekends can be hard on finding a parking spot.

Google
This review is based on one visit. My friend and I picked up a couple of drinks and they were pretty good. I will update this when I try more of their menu. Their Halloween themed sign was super cute. The tables look clean and plentiful but not laptop friendly (no outlets).

Google
I normally don’t post review of boba shops, but the drink I got from this 7leaves location today was just unacceptable. The absence of tea aroma and the awful aftertaste from sweetener totally ruined the experience. It’s worth acknowledging the newly renovated dining space and friendly staff, but their drink recipe definitely needs some changes to keep up with the standard or at least the SF average of boba tea.

Yelp
This boba shop is an absolute gem! Their mung bean drink is hands down one of the best I've had--it has a rich, authentic mung bean flavor with a strong hint of pandan and just the right amount of sweetness. It's perfectly balanced and so refreshing! The honey boba is next level--chewy, flavorful, and clearly made fresh, which makes all the difference. You can really taste the quality! Beyond the drinks, the shop itself is a great spot to get some work done. Plenty of tables and a comfortable vibe, make it an ideal place to settle in for a while. Customer service was also super friendly and efficient--my order came out fast, and the staff was welcoming. Highly recommend this spot for both amazing drinks and a great atmosphere! Can't wait to come back!

Yelp
We ordered a JMT and House Coffee and the drinks tastes great however we asked specifically for "less ice" but saw the barista scoop up a lot of ice in the cup, which caused our drinks to be watered down. The amount wasn't even "regular ice" either... it's as if they put extra ice..: Not even half way through the drink, it was starting to taste bland.

Yelp
Holy Diabetes! That was a punch to your throat SWEET. Wasn't asked for level of sweetness so I just went with it. Seems like the drink was pre-made so I don't think they could adjust it anyway. The Mung Bean drink was very tasty though. Reminds me of a 3 colored bean drink you'd get at a Pho place. Definitely tasted like Mung Beans... Tea, not so much. Place was busy today, Presidents' Day. All Tables and seats were taken mostly by individuals with laptops yet no drinks.

Yelp
Lowering my 5 rating until they fix the app. Don't get me wrong, the drinks are great. But the app / order process has been buggy. I also had my order messed up and it was too late to go back to get my order corrected :( What's wrong with the app is you cannot add honey boba (their standard boba) while paying with 7leaves points. But you can buy honey boba on the app if you pay with card but it's under "extra add ons". Why? I have no idea. The second hiccup was I ordered 2 drinks of mung bean with boba and added an espresso shot into both. Surprisingly one of the 2 did not have espresso. See photos and the colors of the drinks are so different! The left has the espresso and you can tell by the coloring of the mung bean, it's a bit less bright green. It also sucks how you cannot pay for leaves points when you're in the store. So if you want to try their seasonal drinks (which are not typically in the app), you'd have to pay in store.

Yelp
7 Leaves is a popular boba/coffee shop in the Bay Area. This particular location is within a 5 minute driving distance of SFSU. It is also conveniently next to H Mart and there is a parking lot. The cafe has some tables/seating and a nice ambiance with natural lighting. I enjoyed catching up with a friend and doing some work here. I tried their Vietnamese Coffee which was well caffeinated and a good start to my day. I would visit this 7 Leaves location again!

Yelp
My favorite milk tea spot in SoCal, so I'm super happy that they are now in the bay. My go to drink is the jasmine milk tea (easy sweet which just means light sweetness) which has a strong floral tea taste but is also creamy. But if you want a caffeine boost, the house coffee tastes delicious and will wake you right up. I prefer milk tea spots that have a dominant tea flavor rather than sweetness so if you have similar tastes, definitely check this place out! Service is always very friendly and efficient. Lots of tables if you need a place to work or study. Located in a lot with plenty of parking.

Yelp
Drinks are good, no complaints. However, a few things: When the app is having issues with online ordering for pick up, you cannot redeem your leaves manually in store. They need to manage the pick ups better. When I ordered a couple months ago, someone else took my order. The workers were apologetic and re-made the drink right away. When I went in today, it happened again to another customer. The person working nearest to the pick up counter was a bit flustered when I was picking up my order after that happened. To minimize any discrepancies and from having the customers wait a little longer for their drink, they need to either designate a person solely for managing pick up or barricade the area to avoid random people taking drinks.

Yelp
A nice airy space with natural wooden tables and leather like tan chairs. Very friendly staff and speedy service. Ordered coffee with boba. Great tasting coffee with creamer and salted foam. The boba was perfectly chewy. Nice to get a boba after shopping at H-Mart.

Yelp
Disappointed that they cannot substitute taro milk drink with soy or oat milk, I ended not ordering anything. . Please consider substitute milk options for the Taro milk drink.

Yelp
Located in the same plaza as H-Mart is the great 7 Leaves. I got the Mung Bean Milk Tea with less sweet and less ice and it was perfection. My go-to drink every time I go to a 7 Leaves. It was made fast and just right. This location is a little bigger than most I've been to. Nice spot to chill and/or get some work done.
google avatar

Yelp
Got the mung bean milk tea and sunset passion drinks! The sunset passion was sweet and reserved and the mung bean one was also good! I could prob drink only half the mung bean tho since it's lowkey heavy and filling.

Yelp

Yelp
I've heard of the cafe before but hadn't seen a location close by until I went to hmart recently. We decided to give it a try and I liked how the menu had descriptions on the different strength and notes of flavor that are in the teas. The inside is pretty spacious with lots of light and we didn't have to wait too long before the drinks came out. Assam Milk Tea - I opted for this one based on the descriptions and it was one of the best milk teas I've had. It was balanced in the tea and milk, maintaining creaminess and a great level of sweetness. I also loved their honey boba which was warm and chewy. We also tried the Japanese Matcha & Soy, which was a bit of a let down as it was clumpy at the bottom and tasted like soy milk over the matcha flavor and the Orange Dream, which was refreshing and reminiscent of the orange creamsicle popsicles. Overall, I would go back to try some of their other teas.

Yelp
Located right next to HMart, 7 Leaves Cafe is a great spot for refreshing drinks. I came here late on a Sunday night and the place was quite popular. There were quite a few customers sitting at the tables either chatting with others or doing some studying/working. The clean and modern atmosphere makes it the ideal spot to just kinda chill at. They have a pretty good selection of teas and coffees without being overwhelming in choices. I got their mung bean tea drink which was recommended according to their menu. The price was quite reasonable compared to similar places and it didn't take long for them to prepare the drinks. I really enjoyed their mung bean drink very much. It has a slight gritty texture to it due to the blended beans but the taste is on point similar to a three bean vietnamese dessert drink. The tea flavor is not too strong but blends in well with the other flavors of the drink.

Yelp
Companion picked me up and asked if I wanted a bev. I'll never say no to caffeine lol. He suggested 7 Leaves cause he knows me well and that I've been wanting to visit the new spot in the city. We came mid-Saturday morning and were one of the only customers. The cafe is comparable to other 7 Leaves with WiFi and plenty of tables to sit, chat, study, or work at. Ordering was done quickly since we knew what we wanted. Our drink came out within minutes which is what I've always liked about 7 Leaves. I found the service to be efficient and straight to the point. He and I shared a Large Green Thai Tea with Soy Milk, Easy Ice, and Easy Sweetness. The drink was florally from the jasmine. Compared to the other 7 Leaves locations we both agreed the drinks here are way too sweet (especially asking for easy sweetness). The drink also wasn't as smooth or creamy as other 7 Leaves which was quite disappointing. Nonetheless, we got our drink and it perked us both up. I'm a huge fan of 7 Leaves and will say in terms of efficiency this location is up to par but the quality and consistency of their drinks here aren't the same. The shop is lowkey and a decent option for caffeine in the area but I wouldn't go out of my way to come back. Find them next to H Mart with free parking in the shopping plaza.

Yelp
No line on weekend. I'll give it a try then. First time here. Friendly and quick service. Pretty clean and organized store. I got regular size mung bean w/boba $6.30 Too sweet and some boba was hard. I will try a different drink next time. Since the staffs was friendly and it's conveniently located by hmart.
google avatar

Jocelyn S.

Yelp
I got a taro milk tea with boba. The milk tea was amazing and the taro flavor shone through. I liked the little pieces of taro. However the boba was a little hard and old. And there was wayyy too much ice. I usually ask for less ice at boba places but normal ice at 7 leaves because the drinks are often too sweet, even with easy sweet. However the easy sweet this time was an ok sweetness so if I get taro milk tea here again I'd get easy sweet and easy ice. Lots of seating available on a weekday evening.

Yelp
I love 7 Leaves, and I've been to multiple locations in South Bay and SoCal. I was very excited when I found out it was coming to SF. I've been to this location a few times now. During my most recent visit, I ordered a Sea Cream Black, easy sweet and upsized. Despite asking for easy sweet, the drink was still way too sweet for me. I regretted upsizing because I couldn't finish it. After reading a few other reviews, it seems like this is a common complaint. I would love to keep coming to this location, but if the drinks remain very sweet, I'll have to seek other options. On the otherhand, the interior has a decent amount of tables and seating. It's located next to H-Mart, which is convenient. The plaza can get super busy, so finding parking may be a struggle.

Yelp
Finally up in the sf area, their pandas drink is amazing. Parking is ahred in the plaza. There's a H-mart so it can get super crowded

Yelp
BASIC AND LIMITED OPTIONS With no Boba options close around here, this shop can meet your basic needs. Limited non-dairy options for milk teas. Only can replace the dairy in the Matcha and Thai milk tea. Alternative milk options are Soy and Oat milk. If you like a lot of customization and options, this is not your place. VERY CLEAN ATMOSPHERE Spotless seating area. The drink making area also looks very clean and organized. LOTS OF SEATS Many chairs and tables for you to sit and enjoy your drink SERVICE ACCEPTABLE As you would expect from a Boba shop

Yelp
**Ambience: 4/5** 7 Leaves Cafe on Alemany Blvd has a simple, no-frills vibe that's perfect for a quick drink. The space is clean and functional, but it doesn't have much of a cozy or inviting feel if you're looking to stay longer - may have been because it was cloudy/drizzling the two days I was there. **Service: 4/5** The staff was efficient, and my orders came out quickly, but I felt like the staff was a bit distracted on socializing with each other than engaging with customers. While they did the job but had lacked the extra personal touch that can make a place stand out **Drinks: 5/5** I tried the herbal tea, mung bean drink, coffee cream, and Assam tea--each one was delicious, like it always has been when I've gotten 7 leaves in college in SoCal. One thing to note, was the amount of ice in the drinks. Unless you specifically ask for less ice or no ice, they come pretty packed with it, which can dilute the flavor a bit. Personally, I'm ok with drinks being less cold, so this is likely a personal preference. Boba was also nice and chewy and had a nice sweetness to it! **Overall 4/5 ** 7 Leaves offers tasty, unique drinks, and the service is quick. I'd definitely return for the quality of the beverages.

Yelp
truly lives up to the hype. I was so excited to finally try seven leaves, I'm so happy that they're nearby now. The vibes in there are always so nice because they always play good music. When I first walked in there, I asked them their top three best sellers and I finally got to try all of them. Their teas are very high-quality and their boba is always consistent. the service is relatively fast, you can always order online as well. My order : Assam Milk Tea with Boba - this is my favorite thing on the menu it never wrong, hits every time. Green thai tea - pretty good, taste like tea, but a little different more sweeter Mung bean tea - this was one of their most popular and honestly, I think it was too sweet for me. Definitely will try it again last sweet.

Yelp
After grocery shopping at Hmart, I wanted some boba, so I stopped by this place for the first time. While looking at the menu and feeling unsure, I asked the staff for a recommendation. They suggested their signature drink, which includes mung beans... and let's just say it's definitely a drink that people will either love or not!
google avatar

Michele T.

Yelp
Grocery shopping at H-Mart, so decided to stop by and give this place a try. No line when we visited, so we got our drinks pretty quickly. Ordered an Assam milk tea with grass jelly and a Thai tea - both easy sweet and easy ice. Although we liked that the tea flavor came through, it was still pretty sweet and there still seemed to be quite a bit of ice. Also, there didn't seem to be a lot of grass jelly added.

Yelp
I saw this drink place on my way out of H Mart which was outside a few stores down. When you walk in, there is a modern feel with the register and counter on the left side. There were seats where you can stay and have your drink. This place typically has different varieties of milk tea as well as other options. Toppings are extra. What caught my eye was the Orange Dream because it seemed like something refreshing. It tasted like a orange popsicle. The wait time was a little long due to amount of orders they had and the speed in making the drinks. I would think of this place is a hit or miss.
google avatar

Jonathan L.

Yelp
I love the location that it's so close to H mart and an easy pick up before or after shopping for groceries. I always love 7 leaves for their mung bean drink. Although the place is always full of people, I've never had any issues with lines. You can also order online though their app but the problem is H mart has really bad reception so it's hard to order in the store as I'm finishing up with my grocery shopping. My mung bean drink was pretty good but I think it's standard between the chains since it's pre-made. Service is usually pretty friendly. Overall, pretty good boba. Not really your traditional boba as they have unique flavors which I like. My GF did get their mild tea before and it was a bit watery but I've never had any issues with my Mung bean drinks.

Yelp
Some of my favorite drinks include: -Oolong milk tea with sea cream -Mung bean & taro milk tea -Green thai tea __ I'm thrilled that 7 Leaves has finally opened in San Francisco! Conveniently located next to Hmart, it's perfect for grabbing snacks and a delicious drink in one trip. My favorite is the oolong milk tea with sea cream--it's creamy and delicious. I always order ahead to skip the often long lines inside. I love this place and will definitely be returning often!

Yelp
Definitely needs an improvement. We came by in the evening and were surprised at how the store was practically empty. Ambiance: 10/10 The shop is veeeryyy aesthetically pleasing with earthy tones. It's super spacious with tons of small and large tables. Service: 8/10 Employees were drinking boba and socializing in the back. The cashier was nice and friendly, but he didn't ask if we wanted to adjust the sweetness + ice levels like other shops do. I first thought those weren't optional until I asked. Drinks: We both asked for less ice but what we got were TONS of ice. Japanese matcha soy - This tasted pretty good but couldn't taste any soy at all. It was more matcha-y than it should be but I liked it. Jasmine green MT - The tea flavor was distinct but it was more watered down and lacked creaminess. So tbh it was like drinking watered down jasmine tea. Boba's texture was inconsistent -- some were perfect and some were too chewy.

Yelp
I honestly don't see why 7 Leaves has such low reviews from the start. This is a newer location compared to their South Bay counterparts, so they do have some kinks to work out. However, my experiences here were pleasant and quick. I was super excited to hear that 7 Leaves was opening up a location in SF and it was going to be near H-Mart! I kept waiting for the signs to come down and have them open their doors! I ended up catching them during their soft launch early May (5/4 I think), and I ended up coming here a couple days ago. This location (as I mentioned) is on the left side of H-Mart (not inside the grocery store), and it's not hard to miss. There is a store sign that mentions 7 Leaves. I have to say that there are 2 doors for this location, but they keep one of them locked to redirect the line within the store. This location currently does not offer delivery yet, but checking the app they do offer pick-up now! They also do only have macarons at this location whereas some locations may offer additional pastries. Otherwise, they have the same menu as other locations and the drinks here are just as great. Service here was good and straight to the point. There is only one register available from what I remember, but the store hasn't been as busy during the times I went. There are usually a handful of parties waiting for their drinks, but otherwise everything comes out in a timely manner. I always get my favorites, which are the Mung Bean and House Special Coffee. My husband ended up trying their Strawberry Hibiscus and Taro Milk Tea. Their prices range from $5-7 depending on what you get. Toppings/additives do cost around $0.85. Two drinks would roughly cost near $12-13 with toppings. The mung bean and house special coffee are what I missed the most. If you love pandan and coconut, you'll definitely enjoy the mung bean! It's not too sweet, it has such a creamy and light taste, and it's been one of my favorites. The house special coffee is delicious too! This is their Vietnamese iced coffee with a creama on top. The coffee itself is already sweetened, and it's very smooth. The creama makes the drink extra creamy and it's been such a favorite of mine. I always end up having to buy both at once. The strawberry hibiscus here was very refreshing! My husband got tapioca/boba in his drink and it was very chewy. The strawberry and hibiscus balance each other out and it was the perfect refresher on a hot day. The flavor itself is very light, so if you're not a huge fan of hibiscus, it's not as prominent. The taro milk tea was surprisingly delicious. It's not like your average powered taro milk tea drinks, but they use actual taro. It's almost similar to the mung bean drink where they use the same coconut milk too. It's very creamy and reminds me of all the Vietnamese desserts I used to enjoy eating as a kid. 7 Leaves will always be one of my favorite boba chains because of the quality and how delicious their drinks are! I'm definitely swinging by every chance I get!

Yelp
Finally a 7 leaves in this part of the bay!! Now my bf and I don't have to drive all the way to SJ for our 7 leaves fix. Tbh we agreed the flavor and taste of the drinks are consistent with any other location we've been to & the boba is always the perfect texture. Our go-tos are the house coffee, assam milk tea, strawberry hibiscus & mung bean! It hits every time :P Service can be on the slower side tho, but luckily h-mart is in the same plaza so place your order, do some shopping & then your drinks will be ready once you're done! There's also a decent seating area too

Yelp
Decent place for milk tea. Came here a Sunday afternoon. Luckily i came at a time when there wasn't busy yet so they made my drink quick after placing my order. I decided to get the mung bean milk with honey boba, regular size, cost about $5.50. Enough sweetness with okay price. Their ice are more like shave ice instead of ice cube style. The place itself is clean. They do have seating if you want to drink in.

Yelp
Came on 2nd day of opening and the line was out the door!! I guess that's what happens on weekends when everyone is doing their grocery shopping at HMart then getting their drink fix at 7leaves thats now right next door. Service was slow and I get it's because they just opened. Cashier had said it was literally her second day. They have a bunch of people working on drinks yet I waited 25min for my drink (I assume it's also because they are majority new workers.) Interior has indoor seating. Drink quality is just as good as South Bay locations. Happy to have this newest addition in SF!

It didn't really have a jasmine tea taste. I also wanted to order honey boba but they ran out. :( Overall satisfied with my drink and service. The girl in the front taking orders that day was super nice and understanding! Still pretty stoked to have a 7 leaves in the city now. Will definitely be back for their house coffee once the line dies down. I probably waited about 15-20 mins to order and maybe 2 mins to get my drink so it wasn't too bad. But once they have their online ordering system set up, I'm sure the lines wouldn't be as long. Something to know though, they open at 10:30am during soft opening even though it says 10am. Grand opening should be on May 18 at 10am. 05.12.2024 | Sunday @5:30pm

Yelp
I've been on and off the milk tea boba drinks but this Assam MT was the better ones I've had in a while. Strong tea taste. Can actually taste the tea!! The boba has a nice chew to them. I could not resist ordering the Pandan because that was literally what everyone before me got. The smell of the Pandan was initially what got me to go into their store. It's creamy and fragrant. Convenient location next to Hmart with lots of parking. Plus++

Yelp
The only time I crave 7 Leaves is when I need to awake from a msg coma OR when it's hot swittie (tata) weather. Because I find their drinks too sweet. But, when you're hot, thirsty, and in need of a caffeine boost....it hella hits the spot! Well, today is the day. 7 Leaves' first city location softly opened to nearly 80 degree weather (next to H Mart)! Their grand opening is Saturday, May 18th. First 200 customers receive a swag bag. 7 Leaves is a wildly popular SoCal based chain that serves Viet drinks and housemade macarons. Before stores opened in NorCal (SJ/Cupertino), people from the Bay brought a cooler to SoCal to bring back jugs of their coffee and tea. Their name stems from the 7 ingredients in their herbal tea and the 7 co-founders. O R D E R I N G / W A I T There's one cashier. Ordering is not available on the 7 Leaves' app yet. With no line (yet), it took about 15 minutes for my order (4 drinks). M E N U Viet-inspired tea and coffee drinks. The most popular drinks: Mung Bean (pandan) Milk Tea, Sea Cream Jasmine Tea, and House/Viet Coffee. Their current seasonal drink: Brazilian Lemonade is not available at this location. - Toppings: Boba, crystal boba, grass jelly, custard pudding, aloe vera - Two sizes: 20 oz ($3.85-$5.60) & 26 oz (+75 cents) - Sweetness: Regular, easy sweet (it's still sweeeet!), or extra sweet - Ice: No ice, regular, easy, or extra (in general, they tend to give a lot of ice) - Dairy alternatives: Soy milk and oat milk are available at their other locations but I forgot to ask if it's available here. ** [Not so secret] Secret Menu (Kindly note, with employees still training, I'm not sure if the secret menu items are available yet.) - Strawberry Sunset: sunset passion + strawberry hibiscus - Hulk: mung bean + house coffee - Tiger: thai tea + house coffee - Barney: taro milk tea + mung bean milk tea - Black & Tan: black milk tea + jasmine milk tea - Tea Rex: matcha + mung bean - Love Cream: jasmine milk tea + caramel - JasB: sea cream jasmine tea + mung bean milk tea - Caramel Macchiato: espresso + half/half + caramel D R I N K S (Most of the drinks are pre-brewed and made less sweet by adding more milk/half & half) * Roasted Oolong Milk Tea (20 oz.-$5.45) --Easy sweet --Regular Ice My 7 Leaves' go-to for its strong, roasty flavor and creamy milkiness. I find it's not as sweet as some of other drinks (e.g. mung bean milk tea, strawberry hibiscus, etc.) but even at easy sweet, it tastes like 100% sweet so I always have to let the ice dilute it. Consistent across the several 7 Leaves I've been to. * Herbal Tea w/ 7 types of herbs and teas including chrysanthemum and pandan leaves (20 oz.-$5.45) --Fixed sweetness --Non-caffeinated If you like refreshing Chinese herbal teas, this will be your jam. It's floral and earthy. Like most of their drinks, it runs sweet. I can't drink coffee but I've tasted the Mint Serrano (like Philz mint mojito), House Coffee (Viet coffee w/ hazelnut creamer), and Viet Coffee....they're bold, strong, and creamy but very sweet. Pro-tip: You can add extra shots of espresso for free...up to 6 extra shots. S E R V I C E Welcoming and friendly with the owner greeting customers. Drinks did take longer than the usual speedy service but it's just day one so that's totally understandable. I'm sure they'll ramp up in the next several weeks. A M B I A N C E Contemporary and homey with seating for about 26 people. P A R K I N G Being located next to H Mart, the parking lot can get congested during peak hours. With the weather is warming up, I'm happy to see 7 Leaves make its way to the city!

Yelp
Went a during a Saturday afternoon, there was no line and only one other customer in the boba shop. I got the Japanese Matcha Soy with honey boba. Something that always happens to the drink is you can find little clusters or white particles at the bottom and if not mixed properly it can make the drink clumpy. Will be coming back here to find a better drink and also to try their pastries.

Yelp
I was so excited that 7 Leaves now has a location so close to me. As a frequent shopper at HMart, I've seen the progress of this new location coming along as it was prepping to open. I tried 7 Leaves a few years ago in So Cal and until now, only get to enjoy drinks from here whenever in the South Bay. This is soft opening week so I expect some kinks that still need working out. Arriving here on a weekday afternoon, the line was only a few people long. Mobile ordering is not yet available through their app. The line moved fairly quickly and I didn't have to wait too long for my order. They also weren't out of honey boba so that was a plus. The green Thai tea and sunset passion drinks are as good as other locations. The store itself was super hot and humid inside though. It made for a pretty uncomfortable environment to wait for drinks. I hope that gets fixed soon. Otherwise, an overall average experience and I expect this location to continue to improve over time.

Yelp
Love 7leaves and how they have a location right outside the city now! This spot is located in a plaza with good food and grocery. There's an HMart/Food Hall next door, along with a designated parking lot which is nice. Service is always friendly, whether you order in person or through the app. My personal favorite is the Love Cream (secret menu option, caramel + jasmine milk tea) and the boba texture is one of the best in the Bay! I'm rating 3 stars because when you order no ice or even less ice they make a point not to fill it up all the way. They also don't have the nice crushed ice like some other locations.

Yelp
This place was poppin' on a Sunday afternoon! Easy to find parking, but it was a bit daunting walking toward the entrance as we saw the inside packed and people from all directions were coming toward us as well. We stuck it out though and waited in line for about 10 minutes and got our two drinks in 7 minutes. I would recommend ordering ahead online even though the wait wasn't that bad. There are two gender neutral bathrooms and I wish they restocked them more frequently. They also have a good number of tables (which I also wished were wiped down more often) and seats plus an area closest to the drink pick up counter to stand and wait. The limited edition Orange Dream tastes like an orange flavored Yakult. It also reminds me of a Melona bar. The Mung Bean Milk Tea tastes like halo-halo.

Yelp
This new location is awesome! This is my family's favorite tea spot, and until a few months ago we had to drive 40 min to have it. This new location next to H Mart on Alemany is a blessing. My favorite is the Vietnamese Iced Coffee. Bold flavor, strong, and right amount of cream and sweetness. The boba tea is fabulous as well.

Yelp
My sister and I were able to check out the soft opening. It was packed! They share a parking lot with H mart so parking is kind of a disaster. Even though it was busy, their customer service was good and they served the drinks rather quickly. The inside was pretty big and there's a couple of tables. The assam milk tea was delicious! The tea flavor maybe could've been a little stronger, but the boba had a great consistency. We ordered the Vietnamese coffee for our dad and he liked how strong the drink was. So excited for us to finally have a location in SF!

Yelp
No longer have to drive to SJ for 7 Leaves. I was excited when I learned they were opening up a shop in SF. I usually drive to SJ to get their mung bean drink which is my favorite but now I'm able to try new items without having to drive so far. Currently really like the Tea-Rex and JasBee from their not-so-secret menu. When it first opened, the line was out the door and I believe it was about 30-60 mins of waiting but now that it's been a few weeks, the crowd has died there. The location is convenient as it's right off the freeway and next to HMart, making it perfect for grabbing a drink and doing some grocery shopping. They also have ample parking which makes it such an nice experience. Inside, there are a few tables if you want to sit and work in a cafe-like atmosphere. Only docking a point because this location isn't on the app and couldn't order online.

Yelp
7 Leaves is finally in the Bay Area! I got the Green Thai Tea and the Sea Cream Jasmine and it was super good! Kind of a long wait when it's crowded but at least there is a seating area and right next to HMart.

Yelp
"Hey wanna go to 7 leaves?" "Ah man I'm not feeling to drive down to the South Bay" "WELL we don't need to... we have one here in SF now!" FINALLY at last my favorite place has added a location closer to home. This location is right next to HMart. They are new so I do get why there may be some inconsistency in the drinks but today they made my wife and I drink perfect. We got two Mung Bean with light ice, our go to drink. The service was quick, right after we paid, we waited less than 5 minutes. The store itse is a good size and clean. They do have two bathrooms as well.

Yelp
Very excited to hear that a 7 Leaves is closer to home since majority are in SoCal. I went with friends during lunch time and so far the times I have gone, my drinks have been good. I have tried the Green Thai Tea with boba & the Sea Salt Jasmine Tea with boba, and both were amazing! One inconvenience though is that the boba gets hard after a few hours. But ever since trying the Sea Salt Jasmine Tea, I've been craving it a lot. I think it's also cool that they have a secret menu that they are familiar with when it is requested. I understand that they're still training, so I believe that consistency will improve throughout time. One time my friend's order was messed up twice, so I hope they can avoid that kind of error in the future. It's a bit warm inside the store, but hopefully they will provide good AC when summer rolls in. I will continue to come here since it is conveniently close to work & home and they have a rewards program

Yelp
We were here on a Saturday around 4pm and it wasn't very busy. We ordered two identical drinks: large mung bean milk tea, easy sweet, easy ice, with extra boba. It turned out to be $8 each including tax. The order was ready within a few minutes. I was pretty disappointed to see that the drinks were different shades of green. I think that in order to make the drinks less sweet, they diluted with milk since the mung bean milk tea was in a dispenser already pre-made. They probably didn't measure the amount they added to the drink which is why our identical drinks looked and tasted different. One cup also had a good amount less boba than the other. Because the drink is pre-made, we were unable to change the milk to soy or oat (it is made with half and half). Overall, I'm happy to have a 7 Leaves closer by, but am still disappointed by my experience here.

Yelp
My worst 7 Leaves experience yet (in terms of drink, not service though). I've tried the 7 Leaves chain all over California and in Las Vegas but this one really got sad. I went in on a Thursday night and it was empty so I was able to order right away. They were training a new person and they were very sweet with me. I ordered the Mung Bean Milk tea and Japanese Matcha and Soy with easy ice and regular sugar. They made it super quick but when I went to pick up the drinks, I noticed that the Japanese Matcha and Soy had all of these Matcha and white chunks (assuming it's the soy). immediate ick fr If one of your signature drinks is Matcha, why is it chunky??? Why does my drink have white chunks? :( Both drinks tasted watered down and I was sad for the rest of the day.

Yelp
Overall pretty disappointed with my experience at this particular 7 leaves. I have tried multiple in southern california, Las Vegas and Northern California and this was by far my worse experience. I asked for both my drinks to be light on ice, but the workers still filled it like normal. Also, the mung bean one in particular was being refilled at the big station area and my cup was barely half full when a worker took that cup and filled it up with ice. The ice basically touched the bottom of my cup and they didn't read the light ice on the label. On top of that, my drink wasn't even filled to the brim. Also, the mung bean one was way too sweet in my opinion. I didn't have issues with that one before at any other location. Since it just opened up I expected a longer wait time and it did take a while for the drinks to come out. So just a heads up.

Yelp
Soft opening review! Will review again after their official opening 5/18 10am (first 200 get swag!) Long lines but quick service. We came for mung bean and jasmine milk tea but unfortunately both were sold out, so we ended up with assam and oolong milk tea. Their milk tea is on the sweeter side so we always order "easy sweet". Added honey boba this time. Mobile ordering is not yet available but they are able to scan reward cards for points/leaves. Boba balls were on the harder side today... not as soft and bouncy but I'll give them a plus for having it available (that would've been the ultimate disappointment if they had sold out of boba balls). Tea flavor and creaminess are always a plus here - something I find consistent with 7 Leaves drinks. If the boba was a chewier, it would've been perfect. Parking was a plentiful at 5pm pre dinner rush. It shares a big free parking lot with HMART. I love how bright, roomy and inviting the space is. A great addition to SF, the Merced heights neighborhood, and to the boba scene.
