Yelp
We found free parking a couple streets away and moseyed on over. Although the surrounding area felt a bit rough, the only interaction we had was a polite request for change. At the entrance, a large metal praying mantis greeted us. I'd heard it breathes fire in the evening, but we went too early to catch the show. This open-air mall/park is both a nod to sustainability and a middle finger to cookie-cutter construction. There's a decent-sized kids' playground and three stories of small stores, everything from Mexican food and typical tourist swag to bars, nail salons, and vintage shops. There was also a stage, but no one was performing at the time. The park looked clean and seemed family-friendly enough - just be mindful in the gift shops unless you're ready to explain some interesting souvenirs, lol. Pro tip: bring two quarters and your shiniest penny for the pressed penny machine!

Yelp
So this is a fun little place to go to. If you are in the area. It's very walkable and it has a couple floors so to speak. Make sure you go and check out all of the floors and little nooks and crannies of the container part. So it's free to get in, so you'll walk right in, just look for the praying mantis metal statue. You can go left or right, and there are plenty of other spots there like bars and lemonade stands and tattoo parlors and boutiques. Make sure you check the signs when you go because some places have a happy hour when you're there so just be mindful of that when you're walking around. If you want to go shopping for boutique clothes or jewelry, this is also a good spot as well. They have some indoor and outdoor seating in there. Some courtyard and playscapes in the middle. So you can actually bring your kids as well. That's not an excessive amount of things to do, but there's just enough so it's worth the visit.

Yelp
We were looking for a place to eat lunch, and my BIL remembered this place having options of food so we came here on a Sunday back in February some time before 2:00pm. The Container Park takes up a whole block, but the entrance is at the corner of Fremont Street and 7th Street, where there's a huge praying mantis. Not sure if there are other entrances. We parked in the lot across from the Park off 7th ("Container Park Lot" - I think about $7.00 for 2 hours?). So, basically this place has shipping containers that are utilized as shops and restaurants. It has an artsy flair, with businesses that have individuality. They do have a small park/play area in the center, as well as a stage for concerts and entertainment. I'm all for supporting local artists and small businesses, but nothing really grabbed my attention. At the time, there were maybe about 4 places that had actual food, and the rest were snacks/desserts and drinks. The bar houses seemed the most popular here (we weren't here for alcohol though). Kids might have fun in the small play area, but otherwise, I don't see them enjoying this place for long. And surprisingly, it feels a lot smaller when walking around inside. We ended up just walking around, soaking in the neat environment, checking out the shops, and then left.

Yelp
Every time I'm in Vegas for work, my co-workers rave about how fun the Container Park is. After finally visiting this past trip, I wonder what all the fuss is about. We went twice on this past trip, and the first night, nearly nothing was open at 7 pm. The bar and the art room were it. It was a bit windy, so didn't know if some vendors shut down because of that or if they really weren't open past 7. The second time, we arrived around 6:15 pm and headed up to the terrace restaurant and went to sit. Someone then directed us that we were welcome to sit, but the restaurant closed at 6. WTF? On a very nice Sunday night? Walked back down to the one restaurant that was still open, but just not the shopping and dining experience I was hoping for. At least the fire-breathing mantis was fun to see.
google avatar

Ashley S.

Yelp
Container Park is located near Fremont Experience- there is street parking/small lots right in front. I went on a Sunday afternoon and it was completely empty. I assume maybe bc of the heat. The store selection is eehh. I enjoyed the lapel pin store as well as the variety artist store. Other than that, it kind of seems like a waste of space. We did stumble across a happy hour and enjoyed a couple of drinks but it was tucked so far in the back that we would have missed it if we didn't decide to explore the whole area. If you're in the downtown area, stop by but honestly, I wouldn't go out of my way to go to container park.

Melissa S.

Yelp
Fun place to walk around and check out some very unique art installations, stores, and restaurants/bars. It's kid friendly too and typically there's some sort of show going on there on the weekends. The containers are three stories high and it's like a little maze navigating the park.

Yelp
The parking is a challenge when the parking meter is not user friendly. Not happy about that. Also, I did not like being approached by a man begging for money. We were trying to figure out the parking meter procedure when he approached. Luckily it was daylight and others were around. After not giving him money, he peacefully moved on. Upon entering we were greeted by a person who appeared to be security. I wish they had security for the parking lot across the street from the venue. We walked around the container park and there was nothing there of interest for us. There is a huge play area centrally located in the container park. The vibe I was feeling about the place... it's a nice venue to let the kids play while the adults drink (the restaurants seem to feature alcoholic beverages in their advertising). After walking around for several minutes, we left. Dissapointing experience. Maybe it's more interesting at night or with a special event. However, I doubt we'll ever return. The parking and being approached by a person begging for money is a big turn off.

Yelp
I have seen concepts like this in a few other cities, but this particular one has a character all its own. First off, there's a giant praying mantis at the entrance that shoots out fire in the evenings. It seems like a really great addition to this area and there any number of places to eat or shop or just hang out with friends and family. It does seem to be 21 and over after about 9 o'clock, so plan accordingly. Still, the week we were here. There were a lot of families with kids making use of the park like atmosphere and the treehouse made out of a container.
google avatar

Nahshon P.

Yelp
Super cool place to walk around lots of activities for kids. So many shops and lots of sugar options. Love all of the shops that they have scattered around and love even more than there's tons of things for the kids to run around and do I see security posted around and felt pretty safe walking around Lots of food options here But we ended up. Walking up the road to eat Really cool are all around so much to look at

Yelp
Downtown Container Park is located on the historic Fremont Street and approximately one block from the Fremont Street Experience. It is an open-air center with boutique shops, unique restaurants, live entertainment, and an interactive playground. We mainly visited for the playground which had three tall "treehouses" built from containers, a small rock-climbing structure, and a light-sensory game in which you would tap the light to score. Our girls were gassed after a few rounds so it's a great way for parents to expense their children's energy! Right next to the stage is a faux lawn with building blocks. Our girls spent about 30 minutes there. There were enough building blocks for them to build a small house.
google avatar

Wendy Q.

Yelp
Such a great playground park for kids and young kids. Wow, my toddler had such a great time, I liked the theme and the illumination. You can find parking close by (paid) if you go to Freemonth St experience, definitely stop by here
google avatar

Kyrsten S.

Yelp
While site seeing, we made it to the Downtown Container Park. We walked around to see what they had to offer. It was a lot happening down there. People sitting outside eating, kids playing in the play area, ice cream and popcorn, I believe we saw and even a tattoo parlor. The bathrooms were very clean and the maintenance man that helped us was very nice.

Yelp
Recommend! If you can make it near dark you are in for some cool surprises. This feels more like an art district with some shops. This is my second visit. The first time in town we only got to see it as we rushed by, and this time we got to explore. There is art. There is live music. There is food and lots of fun shops on a Thursday evening. Look for the giant praying mantis or the stacked containers just a block or so from the old Vegas on Fremont street. You happen upon some great art. The giant mantis is a treat as the sun goes down. There is some music and then the mantis comes to life. Fire in time with music and it plays about every 15 minutes. There is a big playground in the middle of the area. It's all free to enjoy in the middle. Right near that is a grassy area near a stage. Here is where the live music played as we enjoyed the shops. Its not really the best for a lot of kid time. It is more like an art district. As the sun sets it is aimed more towards the 21 plus crowd.

Yelp
Aside from there being no free parking (I think?) to go here, this is a chill little shopping center. Clean restrooms. There was a nice little souvenir shop I bought a few items from.

Yelp
Things to do in LAS VEGAS | Downtown Container Park Downtown Container Park is on historic Fremont Street, about a block from the Fremont Street Experience. It is literally built out of containers. Container Park an open-air shopping center filled with boutique retail shops, unique restaurants, live entertainment, interactive playground and Bars. It's busier at night and on the weekends. FREE entrance!!
google avatar

Ed M.

Yelp
Totally dug the vibe here. Place is built entirely out of containers and managed to make this a pretty neat experience. Shops, eateries, some brew pubs, and an outdoor stage for live music. The giant mantis out front is a neat experience. The fire blowing out of the antennas at night is something that you need to see.
google avatar

Stephanie S.

Yelp
Love the restaurants and my favorite part is always the praying mantis. A quick walk from the Fremont street experience and good bars / food on the way!
google avatar

Yelp
Super cute door to shop and eat at. When you get to the frame, Max says that's how you know you're at the right spot. There is tons of cute art decor there as well as places to shop and eat. During Christmas the trees are decorated. There is a treehouse playground for kids to play at as well. It's on the corner of seventh and Fremont Avenue. Something different to check out while I'm in downtown.
google avatar

ILyndove H.

Yelp
We went to Container Park on Thursday evening around 6pm. It was dead but I didn't mind. There is a big treehouse in center, a music stage, bars, restaurants, shops, and very festive. The fire blowing praying mantis at the entrance goes off every 15 minutes. It's so cool. I recommend checking this place out next time you are downtown LV. Free

Yelp
Downtown Container Park is exciting! It's a unique shopping center where giant shipping containers are cleverly stacked and converted into special boutiques, gift shops, clothing, restaurants and bar. You'll find them on Fremont and 7th Street. Paid parking is next to the container park. A major tourist attraction is the Catalyst Dome and the Giant Metal Mantis, where every night at sundown, the 40 ft tall and 30 ft wide Praying Mantis throws giant fire flames six feet high while in synchrony with drum beats and songs. There's also an interactive playground featuring The Treehouse, and Live music starting at 5pm. For learning and leisure, they have Sunnys Pole Fitness, Dream Dance NV, Segway Las Vegas, Taste Buzz Food Tours, and Free Yoga in the park every Monday night, Saturday and Sunday mornings. Service providers in the area are Black Spade Tattoo & Permanent Makeup, and KRP Boutique (custom printing shirts). If seeking personal care, there's The Nail Buzz (nail salon). They have several shops nearby such as Pressed Penny Souvenir, The Alchemical Cabinet, Sugar Shop Candy & Gifts, Lovo Cigars, CinloCo Permanent Jewelry, Fun Party Supplies and Rentals LV, Vintaged LV (upcycled clothing), Four Vedus (clothing), Run It Back (vintage clothing), Art Box by Liezl Siojo (gift shop), Boutique Aztlan (gift shop), DTLV Merch, Gimme 5 (gift shop-Items are $5 or less), House of 1000 Pins, The Retro Cowgirl, Sassy The Boutique, Shades Deluxe (sunglasses), and Shop Mama Sage. Some of the dine-in options include Waffelato, Pop Las Vegas (popcorn), Lemonade Shakers, Downtown Terrace, Oak & Ivy, Bin 702, No. 1 Boba Tea, Pinches Tacos, Bucket List Las Vegas, Blooming Buns Bakehouse, and Mob Pie.

Yelp
Such a cute little park/food court area! There are also some shops located around the perimeter and super close to the old downtown Las Vegas strip. We didn't have any trouble getting to the park and they have plenty of public parking spaces. We paid for 2 hours and crossed the street to the Container Park itself. We took our 4 year old and 1.5 year old here to play on the play area , and they both had a blast! It's not your typical playground but they kids loved it! It was really crowded when we went but there was still plenty of room for all the kids and parents to walk around and play with their kids in the play area. They also have a stage area with a DJ and a snowmaker blowing 'snowflakes' as the kids just stared in awe, and danced to the tunes playing. They also have a wooden swing bench and blocks for the kids to play. The area is very neat and clean. They have restrooms inside as well. The area is very stroller friendly, they have elevators as well for those of us who travel with a stroller now. There are plenty of cute shops, places to get some beverages and food. It's definitely worth exploring if you haven't been in the area before. I'm so glad we went to check it out. When we stopped by, they were doing some face painting for the kids and were making some balloon animals too.
google avatar

Yelp
Variety of shops, food options, bin 702 was so great had local brews on draft service was excellent! House of 1000 pins highly recommended stop, and see the 50-foot pyrotechnic praying mantis at the entrance synced to music.

Yelp
Fun for kids and adults. Big grassy chill area for teens too. Lots of shops and on Sunday there's a little market from handmade sellers. Big 3 story playground for kiddos.
google avatar

Yelp
The downtown container park was quite an interesting experience made out of old vintage containers. I guess cute shops, several different kinds of shops souvenir shops to clothing shops to restaurants. Thing to do if you really like the restaurants or the shops or the boutiques there we walked from the Fremont experience which wasn't very far so if you want to check out the container park, it's not a very far walk here the stores located at the container park.
google avatar

Yelp
Las Vegas is the Entertainment Capital of the World, and yes that means they should have activities to entertain kids too. The Downtown Container Park is worth visiting to get away from the dark, smoky casinos and crowded Strip. The Park is essentially a collection of Shipping Containers that have been converted into businesses: restaurants, salon, coffee stand, and even restroom. Nestled in the middle is a huge artificial lawn for the kids to run around and build with these gigantic foam lego-like blocks. Since we were visiting during Thanksgiving week, they had Christmas decorations up too. There are plenty of places to sit with tables throughout the park, which is great for lunch and taking a break. Gender-neutral restrooms with plumbing and diaper-changing are located on the second level. At night, the Container Park turns into an outdoor beer and music place for the adults. The Praying Mantis statue will also begin breathing fire. Entrance to the park is free, but you'll need to pay for parking if using the large, open parking lot next to three Park.
google avatar

Nycole R.

Yelp
Who ever would have imagined that shipping containers could be so much fun? I'm loving this trend of repurposing these old, metal rectangles and bringing such an interesting character to them. The Container Park is sort of an outdoor mall, park and event space built with these lego-like containers. In the middle of the space is a large playground for the kiddos and a stage for performances. You can shop for souvenirs, clothing, gifts as well as food and drink. During the day, it's open to all, at night it turns into 21+.
google avatar

Angel H.

Yelp
When we first arrived I wasn't sure what I was looking at. All the stores here are housed in recycled containers, which I thought was pretty neat. At the entrance is a huge mantis. I didn't know that the mantis could move. Don't leave without seeing the show. It only lasted a few minutes, but it was actually very entertaining.
google avatar

Stella Y.

Yelp
First time visiting and what a fun and creative place with live music. It was a Friday night around 8ish and sad that most of the stores were closed except for the restaurants and bars. Unfortunately pets are not allowed which is a bummer because we wanted to bring our furkid with us especially since it's an outdoor hang out area. This place reminds me of Ferguson downtown but that place is bigger and dogs are allowed which is a plus. I'm sure day time and night time will have different feel. Will definitely want to come back during the day when businesses are open. All ages friendly
google avatar

Alisa J.

Yelp
Another cool area in Las Vegas off the strip. Super close to Freemont Street. Many bars and restaurants and has more of a local vibe. The container park itself is small but there are cool shops in there. To get in its 21+ at night. The show was cool too.
google avatar

Travis P.

Yelp
What a cool little shopping spot. The whole park is built out of containers. I came in the morning so it was pretty empty but it looks like they might have things going on at night with the big stage. They also have a really cool playground for the kids. Worth checking out if you're in DTLV.
google avatar

Dani A.

Yelp
Front bathrooms are great. Norma kept it clean and she was very friendly. I was scared because most of the bathrooms in the area are disgusting but was pleasantly surprised with this one and how clean it was!!
google avatar

Alex S.

Yelp
I don't feel safe here anymore. While sitting on the bench in the playground while my girls were playing, a gentleman at the entrance to the playground opened a cigarette case and took out a cigarette. After politely asking him to not smoke at the playground, I was verbally assaulted and physically intimidated (aggressive posturing, threateningly approaching etc). When I reported him to Kingside Protection, the people running security for the venue, security accused me of "false reporting" and stating that it's perfectly fine for someone to play with cigarettes at the playground as long as they weren't smoking it, completely ignoring the verbal altercation. So yeah, with security taking the side of people like this and the accusations of "false reporting", I don't feel safe enough to come back here with my family. It's a shame, I'll miss my Boba Tea and pizza. So long and thanks for all the fish.
google avatar

Alex T.

Yelp
It was a cool vibe here during day time. Next time will try to see how it looks during night time. . Basically the container park is all container built. There are a bunch of shops and food stalls. There is a boba spot too. . In the middle of the park is a dream for a kids who likes a jungle gym playground to climb, hide, and chase each other around. . There is a part where there are giant Lego for kids or adult to put together. I loved this idea. . There is giant statues such as the giant grasshopper which suppose to spit fire at night. Also statues light up for the vibe. . Nearby are restaurants to brunch and dinner at. I came during day time to visit here so the restaurants I went to was perfect for Sunday fun day brunch time. . Overall it's a family friendly event place. It's great for kids because of the play ground. Hope this review helps. Thanks for reading and have a yelptastic day!

Yelp
So cute and has so many activities! Shoutout to Gloria for being so friendly, welcoming, and informative! Will definitely be back for Zumba and Latin night!

Yelp
Fun family friendly place with several small businesses, coffee shop, souvenir stores, nail salon, boba shop, live music, place to sit on laptop and work, and huge children's playground

Yelp
KID FRIENDLY. I came with some friends for the Latin Heritage Month party .... It was ok. Several eateries and shops. We stopped in at Downtown Terrace to grab food and a drink. That was a mess of its own. Place was clean and had good security. I may go back to try a couple nail salons they have there. *** fire Mantis had a big gathering during sun down*** ****you cannot take beer to go and leave the Container Park***

Michael P.

Yelp
We came for the day and enjoyed the outdoor atmosphere. There was a an event with vendors that were fun. The center play area is great for the kids and they entertained themselves there. The food and drinks options were great.

Ty H.

Yelp
Fun place to visit with lots of local shops and food. Super cute artiste feel with the entire shopping center made out of shipping containers. There's also a place in the middle for the kids to climb and play around. Watch out tho on Friday nights the place kids are kicked out at 9pm and the place is for 21+ only. Not sure why as not too many businesses were open around this time. Take a trip with the kids during the day.
google avatar

James N.

Yelp
Absolute tourist trap: Overhyped Read reviews on google saying there is a 2 story slide. There was none. It is the reason i took my child here. Just some steps to climb up and down to different levels of vertical containers. Went in the middle of the day of summer. It was hot. Not many people probably because of the heat. A shaded playground would be more fun as a playground would have swings, a sand pit, a slide and monkey bars. The plus side of this park is that you can drink alcohol, which can be purchased from the shops in the park while your children play. Without a slide a sand pit or bars, your child could get bored in an hour. You need more than an hour to drink, listen to live bands, and relax a bit. Park could use more activities for the kids. If you are a tourist i recommend skipping for other child friendly options such as the mermaid aquarium at the silverton casino.
google avatar

David N.

Yelp
The Container Park is cool, but has never been on my list to stop by unless my out of town friends are interested. I was here for a LV Chamber event and got reacquainted with food and souvenir shops. If you're walking around downtown, it's definitely worth stopping by.

Jennifer D.

Yelp
Stacy at the main gate was awesome! Her customer service was excellent. Please visit and support Downtown container park!!!
google avatar

Kelly S.

Yelp
I've been here a lot and I have such mixed feelings. Personally, I feel it's just overhyped. I do like the art and the idea of container park but most of the shops are pricey, the restaurants are small with very little places to sit. Sometimes, it is overrun with kids. I've been there when some really good entertainment is playing and also when some not so good entertainment is playing. It's just a crap shoot as to what you might get. I also think it falls flat with actual things to do besides spending 5 minutes looking at the stores/restaurants. You can spend more time if you want an overpriced drink. If you have kids, it might be more for you. If you are adults wanting a kid free environment then maybe skip this one. The mantis is cool, but you don't have to enter the park to see it.
google avatar

Jan T.

Yelp
Awesome place. Good food options. Many stores closed though, disapointing. Store staff very friendly and offer unique art, gifts etc. clean restrooms, easy for disabled people to navigate. Play area for kids looked awesome. Street and paid parking lots surrounding. Will definitely go back!
google avatar

Michelle R.

Yelp
Stopped by here since we were in the area. This place is family and kid friendly. Liked the ambiance here. There is a stage for live music, a playground, bars, restaurants and shops. Places we stopped by are Gimme 5- the $5 store, house of 1000 pins and Live at your own pace.
google avatar

Angela J.

Yelp
It's a fun place to visit, especially with children. A large unique play structure, yard checkers, and huge legos available for entertainment while the adults enjoy a meal or beverage. The stores are small (they are in containers) but there's a large variety of shops.
google avatar

Melissa R.

Yelp
Not what the hype Was about. Stores were ok but don't waste time. Neat to see the containers but not worth it.
google avatar

Kimberley K.

Yelp
Located in downtown Las Vegas, the Container Park is a one-of-a-kind project that brings together shops, restaurants, and bars housed in repurposed shipping containers and metal cubes. Conceived by Tony Hsieh and the Downtown Project, this innovative space revitalizes the area and offers a unique experience. What makes the Container Park even more fascinating is my friend's connection to the owner, adding an extra layer of intrigue. Overcoming challenges and adjustments, the park found its home on a 1.3-acre site, utilizing shipping containers and metal cubes for an alternative architectural style. The park serves as a platform for startup businesses, supported by the Downtown Project's funding. Despite concerns about security and access, the park provides a safe environment for visitors. Just don't go on a day that its 100 degrees outside... there are a FEW... VERY few places to hide inside and be sheltered with some A/C... however... most of the places are open air so make sure you check the temps ..

Yelp
*** After 9 PM the park is 21+ *** Downtown Container Park is a kid-friendly small shopping plaza opened in 2013 and is located two/three blocks away from the Fremont Street Experience. The shopping plaza is best known for the giant praying mantis that initiates with a drum circle starting at sunset (timing of sunset changes seasonally and is earlier in the winter and later in the summer) and shoots fire intermittently for the rest of the day until 11 PM on weeknights or 1 AM on Friday and Saturday. [Parking]: The designated parking lot is just across from the plaza and the rate is $3 per hour ($15 max daily). [Shops]: There are approximately 20+ shops and they include chocolate, boutique shops, whisky bars, kettle corn, candy, ice cream, general gift shops, etc. [Activities]: First there's a large treehouse playground for kids in the middle of the plaza and it is free to enter. The website has a calendar listing featured events with downtown yoga in the park (every Wednesday from 7 PM to 8:15 PM & every Saturday and Sunday from 8:30 AM to 9:40 AM - $11 per person), Zumba on the Lawn (every 3rd Thursday from 7 PM to 8 PM), Canvas and Cocktails class (every 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month from 7 PM to 8:30 PM - $25 per person with art supplies + one complimentary cocktail), Country Throwdown - Country Music Night (every 2nd Saturday from 7 PM to 10 PM), Second Sunday - Art in the Park (every 2nd Sunday of the month from 1 PM to 5 PM), Noche Latina (3rd Saturday of every month from 7 PM to 10 PM), Jazz Session (3rd Sunday of the month from 5 PM to 8 PM), Ohana Day (last Sunday of each month from 2 PM to 5 PM), etc. It is great that there are more non-gambling activities added in downtown Las Vegas since 2010's (Downtown Container Park, The Mob Museum, The Neon Museum, etc.), but I wouldn't drive out of the way for Downtown Container Park and I would recommend to prioritize other downtown Las Vegas activities if time is limited.

Yelp
I have been living in Las Vegas since 2016 and a few years back the container park was slightly better than what it is now. So it felt a bit more magical back then but not by much. Now it's just one of those places you forget about, from time to time you remember to go but instantly once you are there you remember how boring and lackluster it is. Some of the restaurants are good but if you just want a quick bite, forget it. Pinches tacos can be a big hit or miss, but their meats can be really tough or they taste old. The pizza shop, meh don't even try jt, they use a premade dough, nothings fresh. The boba shop, is meh . The gelato/ice cream shop is also just ok. If anyone ever gets a chance to try the doughnut shop near the entrance them please let me know if I'm missing out, that place is never open. Even when it's open, it's not, we tried waking in, the " open " sign was on, the door was unlocked and we were told " sorry, we are not open as soon as we walked in. I'm starting to feel these little shops are a front for something lol! Overall this place has potential but it's overall just boring, the shops here don't really seem inspired by anything they sell and just rely on tourists spending their money on their mediocre product.
