We chose this property with high expectations, especially as it is presented as a 5-star hotel on Booking. Unfortunately, our experience was disappointing in several important aspects.
On the first night, we discovered hair on the bed sheets. We informed reception, and a staff member came to the room. However, we were surprised that he entered the room wearing outdoor shoes and asked whether we would like to put the clean sheet on the bed ourselves. We felt this approach and level of service were not in line with what one would expect from a hotel of your category.
While we were changing the bed sheets, we also noticed that the duvet itself was very dirty and torn, as you can see in the attached photos. This was particularly concerning from a hygiene perspective and further contributed to our disappointment, as this is not the level of cleanliness or maintenance we would expect from a hotel of this standard.
Additionally, while the room was acceptable, it did not feel at the standard we associate with a 5-star property, which added to our disappointment.
We do want to mention something positive: we truly appreciated that our request for a warm room was respected. This made our stay more comfortable, and we are grateful for that attention.
Still, the issue with the cleanliness of the bed and the way it was handled left a poor overall impression. We believe this feedback is important, as it concerns both hygiene and service standards.
