Where to dine near Five Points in Denver | Eater Denver

"A former dive from the 1940s, the 715 Club has been resurrected three decades after its closure. With cheap local brews and spirits and themed nights centered around spinning vinyl and Wu-Tang, the new iteration has definitely morphed into a hipster paradise come Friday and Saturday evenings. However, 715 retains much of its former self, including the original front signage." - Morgan Carter

Pizza and booze at the ready. Usually great music/DJs playing. Vibes are great.

Blake Beitzel

Google
Pretty dang good pizza, especially for the price. S/o all the employees that work the window late at night, it is greatly appreciated. Pizza saves lives!! Great drink selection at the bar, and the vibe in here is usually pretty fun. I will say I’ve never had a GREAT interaction with the bartenders in here, but I suppose it’s not that type of bar. This is more a “get your drink and move along” than it is a “welcome to 715, stay awhile” type of vibe. That is not to say the service isn’t good, it is. I guess I just wish I felt more cozy and welcome when I go here. I don’t know, maybe I’m thinking too much about it. 5 stars either way!!

Google
Very cool bar we stopped at. It's dark but there's fun music and a dance floor (wasn't being used all night but it must get used at some point). The bartenders were so nice and helpful, there are lots of specials-even on a busy Friday night! And it seems like a place that tons of locals like to hang out at. I'd definitely recommend.

Google
Three dollar coors lights are a 5 star for me! Pizza looked incredible and will definitely come back to try it Edit: ended up drinking more than expected…buzzed(⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️)and got a slice of pizza(⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️) incredible!!!

My favorite place to meet up with my friends before super good reggae shows at Cervantes. The pizza was quite delectable, and the topping options were very scrumptious and delicious.

Google
Hella flavorlicious in this bih. Get you a grandma's Style slice. That thickness. Triple flame 🔥🔥🔥Come get you☝️a real slice of heaven 🍕haha

Google
Sound Guy got pissed off that an artist adjusted the PA. He started yelling and getting in people's faces. Afterwards the whole show was canceled and they didn't refund tickets. Terrible experience. I cannot believe a venue can be run like this. My friends told him to calm down and he damn near assaulted them. If you wanna enjoy live music go anywhere else. Artists and audience should avoid.

Google
I go here usually before concerts at Cervantes. Usually a DJ playing loud music, from rap/hip hop or Punk rock depending on the night. It's got a long bar which is nice I like sitting at the bar. The patio outside has window to the pizza place, nice to have a pizza n beer there.

Yelp
This little hole-in-the-wall bar is eclectic. It has its own taste of decor etc.... The service was great, and the Long Island Iced Tea I ordered? Strong and just how I like it. One was all I needed--especially since I was driving and staying responsible.

Yelp
The 715 is truly a neighborhood staple. A dive bar with a neighboring pizza joint. Somehow, many of our nights have either started or ended here. I agree with other reviewers, if you're not a local you can feel a bit unwelcome, but the bar staff is very friendly. If you're new to Denver and want to just enjoy a place that feels local, come here! Once it gets late enough on a weekend it turns into a club with a DJ.

Yelp
This dive bar is located right in the middle of Five Points. It is dark inside with a big screen and plenty of hangout space. They also have a pizza window which is really good. The drinks are cheap and the vibe is super casual which is common for a dive bar. Sometimes the crowd can feel a little unwelcoming if you are not a regular but the bartenders are always friendly.

Yelp
We had a great time. Bartenders were more attentive to the regulars but still friendly when approached. Crowd and music are hit or miss but our night lacked neither. The DJs were playing an incredible mix of songs from the 70s to present. Really versatile and something for all dancers. As soon as he leaned into the reggaeton, Afrobeats, and 90/2000 hip hop we were sold. Singing and dancing without abandon. Good mix of seating option. Front bar, tables in back, and outdoor patio. The secret win- is that the pizza places"famous j" is accessible through the patio! Tasty pizza!!!

Yelp
Visited this dive bar since it was listed in Westword's "100 Bars We Can't Live Without". What a pleasant surprise. Cheap drinks with comfy barstools. Perfect place to have a long conversation with a friend. 715 Club is full of history, and the owners have tried to keep as much of that intact as possible. Art deco signs and partial panels adorn the walls, including a sign from the original club that reads 'Dancing Tonight''. Graffiti cover the stalls in the bathroom as art. The bonus to this visit, was the street-side window to Famous Original J's Pizza. A crisp NY style slice full of meat lovers toppings. Definitely a place I will return to when I am in the Five Points area.

Yelp
What a great place! Came here after a concert and an unfortunate experience at the Spangalang Brewery around the corner. Bartenders were fast, friendly and the music was awesome. Will definitely come back here!

Yelp
I love this place!! The history of the bar is interesting, the current bar is an homage to the past while moving dive bars into the future. There's a pizza window on the patio and it will change your life. Great place!!

Yelp
Let it be known. The homies own this bar, so if I could give it 5000 stars I would. But don't let that skew this review because it legitimately is a really good bar that is in touch with the community. I've been here for friends birthdays, pregaming band practices, linking up with friends when they're in town and even just a pop in to get pizza. Then many times for different events they have hosted. It is always a good time and legit a safe place for all walks of life, all crowds, all varying degrees of hipsters and dorks and is predominately filled with hot people doing hot people stuff. Prices are fair, the bartenders are really quick and sell good service. Most nights there is somewhere to sit and hang. Patio is a great time and has a lot of charm. Peer into the five points and something will eventually happen I promise. Do you remember when this used to be a weird taco shop thing? I do, cus I'm an old dude from "Old Denver." This was like the one spot to get food during a Cervantes show back in the early ohts, pretty sure I saw At the Gates and had a bite of a tongue taco here. Now its a super happening bar ran by and occupied by cool people. But you already know that, this spot has been a gift to the community for years and years now.

Yelp
Holy crap guys, I gotta tell ya...If you wake up each day dreaming of getting completely hammered (like me), you are gonna LOVE 715 club!! Getting absolutely blotto here is truly the equivalent of a 22 year olds first back-packing trip through Europe...You'll have experiences that may define the entire rest of your life...The feeling of getting off a plane in Paris, while listening on your headphones to "Only Time" by the timeless genius artist Enya, KNOWING deep in the marrow of your aching bones that you're finally HOME, in the city of love, croissants, and that weird hunchback-guy who loves bells...That's exactly how walking into this bar feels. EXACTLY THE SAME. Then you sit down, order a chocolate martini, a shot of Mallört (TM), and a large mug of spaghetti and meat bulbs...Well they won't serve the spaghetti, and maybe not the martini either (cause that's a drink for jerks and interior decorators - NEITHER of which are welcome here), but they WILL serve the Mallört (TM) as many as you want, as long as your friendly, and somehow you don't get drunk at all (What's the point?!) Then whatcha do is sit down, shut up, sip on your highlife, and dare to dream, because the possibilities are endless! Seriously guys, last time I was here I got COMPLETELY TANKED and then punched a street sign on the way home, and stole a riding lawnmower. Life hasn't been the same since, and I think now I'm starting a landscaping company... Anyway, what I'm trying to say is, in the words of Shakespeare, "I'll be back" to 715 sometime soon... and I look forward to the sexual eye contact we will definitely be sharing. Save some spaghetti and meat bulbs for me!

Yelp
When I imagine my perfect, usual day, I imagine it's a relaxing Sunday where you haven't had to do too much that day, spent in the company of a good friend. I imagine walking to my local bar and having a whiskey. I imagine a friendly bartender with a local kindness, a sporting event on TV with no sound, and a diverse mix of folks standing inside - regulars and out of towners. Patrons, both young and old. That's exactly what I experienced at 715. It's located in RiNo around the Five Points area, just in eyeshot of downtown Denver. This area is vibrant, having various types of bars, eateries and small shops nearby. Stepping inside I was immediately in love. It's got a divey feel, but super clean and welcoming. The Avs game was playing on the TV. Inside you could hear people laughing, a woman yelling a joke, and a group of guests trying to goad the bartender into taking a shot, and settling in a shot of Red bull instead. I found myself super impressed with the selection. For example, on the top of the top shelf they had Pappy 12 year for $20 or 15 year for $30. They also had your standard fare of specials, wells and plenty of affordable, local beer. I'd always wanted to try Pappy, so I snagged the 12 year, and it was great. The bartender made great conversation throughout my stay, but wasn't intrusive. Everyone in the bar was kind, as well. Had I had the ability, I would have stayed longer. My trip to Denver was a quick one on this occasion, but a highlight was my trip to 715. I will certainly return, and if you are looking to grab a drink at a real, local spot, don't sleep on the 715.

Yelp
I don't know why I don't hit up this spot more often. Whether its Motown Monday or Wu-Tang Wednesday.. its always a good time. This spot is clean but with an appropriate amount of bathroom graffiti for a respectable dive bar. The drinks are on the cheaper side and the tunes are always jamming. You will see quite the collection of folks here and it makes for some great people watching. There is a patio area with picnic tables and a walk up pizza window for late night snacks (always necessary).

Yelp
Nice little club/bar scene in 5 Points, near the old DMV area. Come chill or dance the night away. There us a full bar to endulge in any libation you want. As soon as you get inside walk towards the back hand ya first left to an outside patio that features a pizza kitchen! Yes late night you can just go outside and munch on an assortment or pizza. The large slices won't disappoint!

Yelp
#iknowReilly Best dive bar in Rhino if you're looking for stiff drinks and dark ambiance

Yelp
I welcome all to come to the 715 Club. The place isn't fancy, people are there EVERY NIGHT, on the patio hanging out after work enjoying the last month of summer. The 715 is historic for several reasons, the big one only pioneers of families know about. Everybody & Anybody are welcomed.
google avatar

Jessie W.

Yelp
They have drinks and I like that it's a dive. Perhaps my favorite thing is the patio here and the pizza the adjoining place slings out their window to bar goers.

Zipporah R.

Yelp
Meh the bartender that night wasn't the friendliest bartenders at these type of bars are super nice especially to locals. But every single time I've here the bartenders aren't the friendliest smh maybe I'll try and again and update!
google avatar

Jim S.

Yelp
Very historic place. Cheap, cold beer, cocktails in the center of the heart of the coolest neighborhood in Denver.

Taylor D.

Yelp
I've got to echo another person's review which said great atmosphere, fun vibe, good pizza next door, some kind of okay DJ, and pissed off bartenders. Not just "in control" bartenders, but carrying themselves like they hate their job. Mainly one gal who is definitely unhappy with her position. She told me to not stand on the chair, which I was just on the rails of the chair, getting my pal's attention. She barks, "Sit down", then eyed me down like I was a criminal. She stared daggers, it was hilarious. She seemed miserable and on edge. I can presume there are a LOT of aggressive patreons, so they need to be on edge.. but it's Denver, ala Menver where all the men have to act really cool and "chill". Just a bummer, I like this joint, it's historical, and the current staff isn't doing it justice.
google avatar

Terri B.

Yelp
I like what they did with the new 715 Club on the outside as in terms of aesthetics. Those of us who live in "the Points" loved that place. I do like how they designed the interior as a tribute to Charles Cousins who originally owned the place. Then "Junior" ran the 715 for quite a while until the cops scared everyone away. Enough about the outside - the reason I am not giving them 5 stars is because the service is not the same as it used to be. But it is good having the old 715 back again :) Also the ladies restroom is pristine unlike the old 715. You don't have to worry about catching anything, if you know what I mean.

Yelp
Best vegan pizza I've ever ever had hands down So damn good and fresh and tasty as hell Chill nice staff too
google avatar

Melissa S.

Yelp
Been coming here for years. Staff is dope AF. Drink specials slap. There's a secret sex dungeon in the basement, but you gotta know the secret word to get in.

B S.

Yelp
The atmosphere here is pretty fun and the pizza next door is great. My one complaint is that the bartenders are NEVER friendly. They always seem like they hate being there and are often straight up rude to customers who are trying to order drinks. If the bartenders were friendly or at least just not rude I'd give this place 4 stars!
google avatar

Whitney W.

Yelp
I always enjoy stopping into this no-frills, neighborhood dive bar. They don't serve food, but booze. All the bartenders are great, super polite and on quick to fill your drink. My boyfriend and I live a block away and came in last night after a long day of class to mello out and the bearded bartender with the huge ring on his necklace was super hospitable and just a good easy going bartender. What more do you need?!
google avatar

Jason R.

Yelp
This will be a 2 part review, first of all 715 is my neighborhood spot the bar and staff are awesome. Kristen is an amazing bartender (and not a racist) who deals with a lot of idiots, which leads me to the second part of my review. Joe R came in on a Friday and he and his buddy made a number of sexist and derogatory remarks towards Kristen. She finally got visibly upset and told them to leave. At that point Joe R upped his game and started firing off more insults and sexist comments. He also tried to start a fight with me once I asked them to stop being a-holes and leave. His comment regarding his health is probably more influenced by his drinking much more than the dogs that were in the bar. In summary, 715 and Kristen are awesome Joe not so much.

Zach M.

Yelp
Weird mustachioed bartender straight up refused to serve us until all the people who came to the bar after us were served, despite clearly seeing our party at the bar. Left after one drink instead of how we planned to spend the night and get food. Incredibly rude. Some of our party were sporting pride attire and I hope that wasn't the reason but I truly cannot think of anything else. Cannot remember being treated so poorly

Yelp
BEST BAR/PIZZA IN DENVER!!!!!!! The owner's girlfriend is pretty rad too. Great vibes on a great patio!
google avatar

Abby S.

Yelp
Five Points is poppin' these days! Yes, I realize that using the word "poppin'" takes away any street cred that I might've had and makes me sound like a mom. However you can trust that this particular nook of Denver is coming out hot. 715 is easily found, given the giant lit up sign outside. It's retro and might give the appearance that it's just old and not an open business. But if the lights are flashing, it's on! Very minimal on the inside, cement floors and a few bar stools. On a Saturday night it's cleared out for dancing and mingling. The outdoor patio has picnic benches and a view of the streets so smokers can get their fix. Music and cheap drinks are what make 715 pretty cool. Reminds me of the bars I'd go to in my early 20's, only more hip. Interesting crowd, good DJ and a Denver hipster vibe.
google avatar

Shaylynn D.

Yelp
The place was fun, didn't interact with the bartenders bunch until the end. Flower lady walked in at 1:45 and I wanted to buy a flower for a friends birthday. A bartender abrasively walked up and told us to do our business outside and that's she was trying to close. She said we needed to finish up our shit and leave. Very rude. Wish I wouldn't have tipped as much as I did. We are standing outside the bar at 2:15 waiting for our tab and there is still a full bar of apparent regulars. Very disrespectful to kick us out at 1:45 when they were in no apparent to leave. Thought this would maybe be a regular but won't be coming back....

Yelp
This is by far the best new addition to the five points neighborhood in a looooong time. A friend from work and I decided to stop in for thank-God-we're-out-of-there-beers last night, and I'll be honest I had no idea what to expect. I had seen the sign for the 715 club on my trips to Rosenbergs, but never really knew more than what the front door looked like as it hadn't been refurbished and reopened at that point. I imagined or typical dive bar- small, crowded, no seating. I was so wrong. This place is HUGE. The inside does pay homage to its original vibe, as it is dark and has vintage decor, but it is so spacious and clean that is also feels like something different. The back patio offers tons of additional seating and is dog friendly, which is nice because when I drink I like to pet other people's dogs. The best part of this place is although they maintained the classic 715 Club Vintage dive bar feel THE BATHROOMS ARE SO NICE AND CLEAN AND COMPLETELY REDONE! A dive bar with bathrooms nicer than my house that I'm not having to google if you can contract STDs from a toilet seat in? Absolutely amazing. There are a lot of reviews here on clientele being too "hipster", but I experienced the opposite of this. It was incredibly eclectic when I walked in- lots of middle aged folks drinking martinis, previous Frat boys who now have corporate jobs grabbing a beer, and yes, the occasional white dude with tattoos slamming tequila at six in the evening. Although that description is pretty accurate I sounded like a complete douchebag typecasting all the patrons there (to prove a point) so why don't you put those judgements away and stop staring at everyone else and have some fun with your friends. This neighborhood bar is a beautiful idea. Some genius decided to restore a community treasure to give the growing neighborhood of Five Points somewhere to hang out, make new friends, and feel at home. They have honored the original 715 Club while updating it to keep with the times. This neighborhood is better for having this spot, and my nights just got better from being able to visit it. Bravo kids, you done good.
google avatar

Kayla N.

Yelp
This is the coolest place in Denver, great vibes!! Kelso is cool too! Also awesome pizza
google avatar

Dave T.

Yelp
This place has a lot of potential. Grateful for the soft opening we went to last night. It is a great addition to the neighborhood. Has lots of space and a classy cool look. Bartenders were nice and the prices low. Let's see how the final iteration pans out. D
google avatar

Skyler M.

Yelp
One of my favorite spots in Denver. I walk over regularly as it's close to my place. It has history and soul and I love hearing the stories from those who were patrons when it was open years ago. Some may struggle with this, but as a transplant from the actual city of Chicago, this joint reminds me of my favorite dive back home where I was a regular. It's affordable, chill, and there's always an interesting crowd. Also, Kristen is the best!
google avatar

Amy G.

Yelp
I really wanted to like this place. Bartenders last night were in a bad mood or just thought I was a loser. I sat at the bar for 5 minutes while everyone that came up after me got drinks. I'm sorry I was wearing a Patagonia.
google avatar

Ben F.

Yelp
This is currently my favorite place to get pizza in Denver. They have excellent vegan options and the sauce is just so mesmerizingly good. Take a bite, tilt your head back and just revel in it. The bar is cool too, good dive kinda place. They serve Montucky Cold Snacks and that with a slice is the key to a great night.
google avatar

Lukas M.

Yelp
Atmosphere is unmatched! Easily danced the night away euphorically. Terrific drink prices mixed with a charming patio creates an overall great experience. 5 stars.
google avatar

Bella S.

Yelp
Went in there to grab a drink after a business meeting and the portly bartender was super rude for no reason. He had such a nasty attitude for no reason at all needless to say my friends and I left. We won't be back.
google avatar

S M.

Yelp
Really dark hipster type bar. Excellent beer choices and the bartenders are attentive and friendly. Will def come here again when in town.
google avatar

Minnie M.

Yelp
I ordered a couple of margaritas here. Met some new friends on a Saturday night, can't complain. Interesting ambience. I remember a typewriter of sorts amidst red lighting in my drunken stupor. That was cool. That may have been a dream however.
google avatar

Angela W.

Yelp
Love the scene and music playing. Very laid- back hipster cave that sells Montucky Cold Snacks for $3!!! Great place to have some beers on the patio.
google avatar

Kelsey H.

Yelp
I love a good bar. Cheap drinks and and great bartender I am in!!! Was shocked at how little our tab was turns out they have a happy hour until 7 or 8 on Sunday super sweet!!!
google avatar

Matt S.

Yelp
UPDATE: I initially gave this bar 1-Star because I got lost on the way there and I thought it was a gyro truck. I ended up going inside and was pleasantly surprised by the fact that they served alcohol for super modest prices and the other patrons weren't asking me what fraternity I belonged to. The bartenders had beards and didn't wear collared shirts, but that shouldn't deter you from enjoying the atmosphere and ambiance of a DIVE BAR.
google avatar

Damon P.

Yelp
This place is awesome. The bartenders are hot and the service is great. There was one bartender, I think his name is Collin, who was very blatantly flirting with me, but he looked like a charming, good looking homeless man riding a devil stead into the flames of oblivion, so I tipped him PHAT. Also, they have a photo booth, so that is a fantastic resource for my blog.
google avatar

Larson C.

Yelp
Good music, drinks (price and quality), and a photo booth. Great beer list. Staff is friendly. So much fun and a great place to start the night or as a last stop.
google avatar

Hannah F.

Yelp
The drinks are cheap, the atmosphere is relaxed, the bartenders are friendly, sexy, and pour strong drinks. It's everything a good, god fearing, salt of the earth American wants in a bar.
google avatar

Dan W.

Yelp
Cheaper than average beer prices, nice bartenders, lots of draft beer to choose from, good music, big patio, near other good restaurants and Cervante's.
google avatar

Jessica N.

Yelp
Every night that my friends and I go out inevitably turns into "let's just go to 715." It has swiftly become the only comfortable, enjoyable bar in all of Denver. The bartenders are great, the prices are right, and the photo booth never fails to bleed my bank account in the most fun way possible. Even though I don't live close and manage to run into at least one ex-boyfriend every time I go, 715 will continue to have the #1 spot in my drunken heart!
google avatar

Sarah T.

Yelp
Great music and affordable drinks, the bar tenders were cool - one was short and one was fat, I liked the diversity. I'm going back and I hope this review doesn't make it crowded.

Alicia B.

Yelp
The hubs and I came in town with a family vacay- we ditched them for the Redrocks band of the night and had Uber drop us here! We walked to our Airbnb and couldn't stop dreaming of the pizza we'd inhaled and the IPAs ! Oh and that patio! Friendly folks, great chats- could have danced inside. This place has EVERYTHING!
google avatar

Deli Llama K.

Yelp
Simple and lovely little pub with no food but a lot of tattoos. The bartender was excellent: I think his name was Cailin, and he served drinks like a magical unicorn king straight from the fiery heights of Mount Awesome. If souls were a valid currency, I would have gladly given mine as a tip. Also, there's an area with picnic tables where you can bring your dog.
