A Superior Dining Experience at 715 Restaurant in Lawrence, Kansas
My recent visit to 715 Restaurant on Massachusetts Street in Lawrence, Kansas, was nothing short of exceptional. Located just 40 to 45 minutes from Kansas City, it’s well worth the drive. My wife and I couldn’t stop talking about our experience the entire way home the next morning—it was truly delightful.
While I didn’t photograph every dish we tried, I can wholeheartedly recommend a few standouts. The house-made burrata was creamy and delicious, a perfect start to the meal. We also loved the tuna crudo (pictured), served with crispy chips that added a wonderful texture. Another highlight was the Spanish-inspired grilled octopus, which was perfectly charred and flavorful.
The specialty cocktail list was impressive. I enjoyed a classic margarita, which was expertly balanced, while my wife had a cosmopolitan that she absolutely loved. My margarita packed a punch—it was strong in the best way possible!
The atmosphere at 715 was vibrant, with the restaurant full of lively diners. Despite sitting near the kitchen, the ambiance was never distracting. The space is quaint yet modern, featuring high ceilings, stylish lighting, and a clean, inviting design.
Our server, though I can’t recall her name, was outstanding—friendly, professional, and attentive without being overbearing.
We couldn’t resist indulging in a variety of dishes. The lollipop lamb chops were a fun, hands-on treat. I picked them up by the bone and enjoyed them just as I would at home. The goat cheese croquettes, which resembled risotto arancini, were another standout. They were served with a delicious truffle honey and mustard sauce, adding a perfect sweet-savory balance.
For dessert, we shared the house-special ginger cake—a delightful surprise. It arrived as a whole loaf, beautifully decorated with cream cheese icing and festive touches. Paired with two rich espressos, it was a fantastic way to conclude our meal.
Parking on Massachusetts Street is convenient, and it’s free after 6 PM, making it easy to enjoy a relaxed evening. I’m already looking forward to my next visit, perhaps before catching a show at Liberty Hall.
If you’re in the area, I highly recommend 715 Restaurant for its outstanding food, creative cocktails, and warm atmosphere. It’s a dining experience you won’t forget.
